Used a mini waffle maker to cook eggs to freeze and reheat later for sandwiches. I know, they don't look appealing but they're filling and easy to make. I made enough for the week, but took this pic when I was cooking the third one.

Standard cupcake liners are the perfect size to separate them before stuffing them into a freezer bag to toss in the freezer.

Next week I'll make the effort to mix stuff into them like cheese, peppers, and of course seasoning. (I forgot to even salt these. Whoops!)

To reheat, just wrap in a damp paper towel and microwave. I have no idea for how long just yet.

We received an invite to a wedding. Hey, I like a good wedding as long as it has some music and perhaps some beer or wine. I'm not demanding. Let's be honest it's hard to get some people to loosen up with just Sprite and iced tea. Some folks will not do the Hokey Pokey without a few drinks in them. Of course, theirs always that one relative who says "You don't need liquor to have fun". I agree, "You also don't need shoes to run fast, but they do help." The couple had their gifts registered online. You could see what they wanted and buy it for them right with the touch of your computer and credit card. I thought how thoughtful of them. As I looked at what they wanted I yelled into the next room to my wife, "These two are out of their freaking minds". Lots of big-ticket items. I'm not spending three hundred dollars on an expresso/cappuccino machine. Stop at Dunkin on your way to work. They had a Plane White tablecloth on the Register listed for $100. (It didn't have a cool design of the Coca-Cola Polar Bears or anything on it.) Just a four-pack of napkins for $50. But what pushed me to almost have a mini-stroke was the couple had the nerve to have listed the Bartasian Cocktail Machine. It's a $249 automatic cocktail maker. You punch a couple of buttons and it makes your drink for you. (Listen for ten bucks you can get a big bottle of Chi Chi's pre-mixed margaritas.) Whatever happened to Tupperware as a gift? Now let me share a fact about this soon-to-be-married happy couple. These two have been living together for a few years. They have two kids together. It isn't like they are setting up their first house together. My wife says I have a bad attitude. I do not. I just don't like being taken advantage of. I have decided that I will be going out and purchasing an extremely nice toaster for this lucky couple. One you can do Toast and Bagels in. Yep, one that Gorden Ramsey probably has in his kitchen. (My wife says it's not on the list. I said I don't give a rip.) Every family needs a good toaster for Toast, Eggos, Pop-Tarts, and other fun things. Hi! I recently made a list of all the mods I have in my game currently. I have a bit of an organization problem (lol) and it irritated me that mods were mixing with activity items. Activity items are ingame items that are usable. For example (When Cottage Living came out, it came with the barn for cows and coop for chickens) This is one example of an activity item. Harry sure had a way of being adorable when he wanted to and there was no doubt in your mind that this room was absolutely decorated with you in mind. The walls painted a deep navy blue which was always your favorite color. The bed was a beautiful gold frame that you knew you could never afford even if you saved every penny to your name. But the real kicker was the paintings of the bunnies above what was now, your bed.

You smiled one last time at the card that had a bunny with a birthday hat on it as you shut the fridge door.

You and Harry had made so many pledges to each other over the years. Deals and pinky promises, you both took a tad bit too seriously. One of them was to never make birthday wishes without the other.

Every year when it was exactly in-between both of your birthdays you two would have a mini party together. Just the two of you. A cupcake with a candle on top of it as you both made a wish at the same exact time. It was a weird childhood tradition that carried on way too far into adulthood.

But you always figured this way you go two birthday wishes a year.

You flipped through the endless list of songs on your phone. Selecting your favorite one to cook before tying up your hair on top of your head. Hands working mindlessly to make the breakfast you’d made for you two so many times before.

You didn’t hear Harry get up. His lanky form resting against the doorway in the kitchen. Watching you. His arms crossed over his bare chest, head lying against the wooden frame of the door. His heart felt like it was going to burst at any second from seeing you like this.

God, how he missed seeing you like this.

Your body twisting and moving to the song. Your voice singing the lyrics a bit off-key but he thought it was adorable. Every thought running in his mind was screaming at him. Kiss her. Hold her. Tell her again. Maybe this time it’d be different. Maybe this time it’d work out.

He let out a breath, pointer finger, and thumb pulling at his bottom lip before pushing himself off the frame.

He knew he was getting himself in trouble. Knew he should stop feeling this way. Put some distance between you two. He couldn’t help it. Couldn’t help the way his heart fluttered at the sight of you in his house, making him breakfast.

His arms wrapping around you made you jump. Your hand pressed against your chest to calm your heart.

“Fuck, you scared me.” You laughed, turning on the spot to look at his sleep filled eyes.

“Makin’ waffles?” He asked, his eyes peering over top of your head to look at all the ingredients you had laying out.

“Yup. Glad I bought you that waffle maker last year. And you said it wouldn’t get any use.” Your own arms wrapped around his waist, resting your head on his chest.

“We usually eat breakfast at yours.” He said with a slight shrug. His hand sliding up and down your back. His fingers running along your spine.

You groaned, face pushed in farther to his bare chest. Eyes closing as you silently cursed.

“I have to call movers this week to get my shit out of there.” You pouted, lips in a frown as you hugged tighter around him.

“He’s still not answering?” Harry asked, pausing his hands moving on your back when you pulled away.

“Even if he did answer, I’m not sure how that would go.” You said as you turned back around. Busying yourself with the last waffle in the waffle iron.

“‘Ere, let me.” Harry said as he reached for your hand a little too late. Your fingers catching the edge of the hot iron.

“Ouch!” You yelled, your hand jerking back quickly as it stung and burned. The blazing red skin on your fingers was already bubbling up. Your lip trembled. Eyes water filled with uncried tears.

“Fuck, bunny.” Harry cooed as he took your hand. His eyes took in the damage done. “Gotta be careful.”

His soft pink lips pressed a gentle kiss to your fingertip. Your eyes widening as you inhaled a sharp breath. Your thighs clenching together as your mouth hung open in shock.

Your brain suddenly put together the fact he was shirtless. Standing so close to you that you could smell the shampoo he used. Your chest was inches away from his own as he held your hand in his. His eyes flicking to yours as he pressed those soft cushions against your burned skin again.

“Feel better?” He asked when he pulled away, his eyes still trained on yours as you nodded your head yes.

Swallowing thickly when he didn’t immediately drop your hand. The tension in the air grew thick as his hand around yours tightened slightly.

You’d lie to yourself later and say between your legs wasn’t throbbing but you knew deep down that heat of desire was burning there. Your legs pressed together tightly as a soft whimper you tried your best to suppress slipped out of you.

Maybe it was the hormones. Or maybe it was the fact you couldn’t miss the way his glance flashed down to your bare legs and back up to your eyes. A slight smirk dancing on his lips.

Either way, you knew living here with him while your hormones were raging was going to be the hardest thing you had to do.

“Ready fo’ breakfast?” He asked, hand finally dropping yours as he turned to walk towards the table. Your mind blank as you stared after him. Hoping to the gods that you packed your vibrator.

The Unexpected Trip To Disney World part 2

Peter's POV

"Hey kid?" Shit, I mentally cursed at myself. Scrambling to my desk picking out the used tissues from my little crying session I've had. Fun.

"Y-yeah" I replied checking myself in the mirror.

"Can we come in?" We?

"Yeah sure" I sat down at my desk spinning on my chair trying to look like I've been studying all night instead of crying. "What up mister star- and the rest of the team?" I titled my head a bit confused to why I've got all the avengers in my room.

"We know, kid" he looked at me as if i was about to break, so fragile and hopeless. I didn't like it. All they're eyes just staring right at me full of sympathy, full of sorrow, full of...pity. No I definitely don't like it.

"Know what?" My jaw clenched frustrated "I'm fine, everything's fine!" I said my voice getting higher and higher by the second causing them to flinch...I've never raised my voice at them.

"Okay by the tone of your voice it definitely seems like you're not fine" Tony quips annoyed

"Tones" rhodey glared at him causing him to sigh and step back

"No you are not" Wanda came into view, I've never seen her mad at me. Ever. She always had a soft spot for me, more than the others. Maybe it was because she was the closest to my age? Or because of the late night talks we have while making tea everytime one of us was stressed?

"You're hurting, Pete" she rubbed my shoulder "and it's okay, we know or at least I know how much pressure you have, I know how hard it is for you to maintain good grades, be a good nephew, and be the most well known superhero in queens believe me! We talk about it all night. The only thing we didn't talk...is how you don't know how to handle it, everything. You need a break Peter. Give yourself a chance for once"

"And this is where my plan comes in" Mr Stark clapped his hands to gain attention "look kid, you may think that we don't understand the amount of pressure you have but we're probably the only ones who do coz we feel the same" he looked straight at me "and I've always wanted to plan a getaway so this is for all of us" he turned

around looking at each avenger that was in my room

"including miss trouble maker here who should be asleep" he pointed at Morgan who was discretely hiding behind Thor.

She poked her head out and slowly walked towards me "you okay, cinnamon roll" she asked her eyes full of concern

"I'm okay, cupcake" I lifted her up so she could sit on my lap and hugged her, as if i was silently telling her I'm fine.

"Okay whats this trip that your talking about, Tony?" Nat asks full of anticipation

"intrigued, are we?"

"just spit it out tin foil" sam quipped flopping on the bed dramatically causing Mr Stark to roll his eyes.

"we're going to Disney world" he shrugged

Yes, 2 days later we were on a mini van to Disney world. And yes the van fit us all. It was huge, here was the seating arrangements

The rest of the avengers like the guardians oh and also Scott's daughter, Cassie told us they'd come in the second day of the trip and Clint said he couldn't come since he was staying with his family. But oh god the roadtrip was a whole adventure itself.

I honestly don't know why we thought it was a good idea to let Steve and Tony sit next to eachother...IN THE FRONT SEAT. Steve kept nagging Tony on how the GPS was wrong and that in his map it was the other way around, while Tony tried to tell him that the GPS is right and that vision was also focused on the road giving Tony instructions for even shorter shortcuts than what the GPS AND Steve said.

Morgan was whining most of the ride, claiming that she had to go to the bathroom literally every ten minutes. And it wouldn't have been a problem if Scott would stop giving her ORANGE SLICES, but when she wasn't whining she was binge watching my little pony and Sofia the first.

Nat and Wanda kept fighting over whatever they were talking about, I just stopped listening once I heard tampons and pads. They kept annoying me saying if I can't handle them talking about girls stuff then I can't get a girlfriend, which was totally false.

Sam kept annoying the hell out of Bucky, kicking his seat every five minutes, roasting him, teasing him, he even had the audacity to pull his hair once. and Bucky kept annoying Sam, I swear i saw them play fighting for a second, yeah but it was all fun and games until Bucky got his dagger out..

Scott was nice, he kept asking Morgan what happened in all the episode she was watching of my little pony and Sung the theme song everytime she clicked on a new episode.

When we saw the Disney sign we were all sighing in relief, ready for this roadtrip to be over and the actual trip to start.

"My little pony....my little pony" we heard the new episode rolling in, but not just Scott and Morgan sung the theme song this time, all of them did.

"My little pony, FRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENDS" Thor ended the song and they all laughed, I couldn't bring myself to laugh right now. I mean, I know it's Disney we're talking about but I couldn't stop thinking about all the work and the exhaustion I'll have after this 'magical' trip is over.

Once we got out of the van, got all our Disney merch and snacks, we scanned our tickets and went in

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to" our tour guide, mark began but shortly got cut off my a beaming child

"DISNEY WORLD!" Morgan screamed jumping up and down, they all laughed while Scott and Thor joined the little victory dance Morgan was doing.

"Now if you guys would follow me I'll show you where the Disney castle is"

"DISNEY CASTLE?" At this point I'm not even sure if Morgan was the one screaming like the little kid she is or Scott was...

"Come on kid, cheer up. This trip is for us to relax and have fun, don't you worry about all your responsibilities right now. We have plenty of time for that later." Steve walked beside me giving me a side hug, I thanked him and continued on exploring the rides and booths. Of course I was still excited I mean come on we're in Disney world! but memories of the past few weeks started flooding in.

how miserable i was, how low i felt. i couldnt eat properly nor really do anthing else since after my 4+ hours of catching up on school work, i'd go to patrol. i dont want to feel like that again, to live like that again..

suddenly i felt cold, my heightened senses gowing crazy i couldnt stop it. before i could cause a scene i sat down on the benches. fngers combing my hair frustratingly, a tears almost spilling from how hard my head was hurting. the mix of tiredness and frustration that was bottled up for weeks with the confusion and shock of whats happening making it too much to handle-

"hey there, are you okay?" i felt a soft hand on top of my clammy ones. i immediately turned around to see who's the face behind the rich voice that calmed him down my eyes met a gorgeous y/h/c haired girl. And as cliche as it sounds, it's like time stopped. for once, it was calm, quiet. no stress, nothing.

I couldn't stop staring, I honestly couldn't. Her gleaming y/e/c orbs staring at me as her outfit was just star wars merch over star wars merch, yet she made it look like a fashion statement.

"hello?" she squinted her eyes, a small smile appearing on her glowing skin from the burning rays above us.

"uoh uh sorry, i just needed to calm down a bit" i scratched the back of my neck, embarrassed that i got caught.

"no your good" she turned around now to face the front, not to my side anymore and she rested her hands on her lap. "i know im a stranger-"

"a really cute stranger" i whispered but my eyes widened when i realized i said it in a not so low voice. i wouldve thought she missed my dumbass comment if she didnt laugh. idiot.

"thank you" she spoke a few seconds later, her cheeks reddening by the second.

"youre welcome" i smiled..i smiled? i dont know. something about her rosy cheeks, soft lips, her gleaming eyes, even her shy voice makes me feels things, things ive never felt before. and every second that passes by my smile grows even more and more. i was smiling! for the first time in a long looong time.

"are you okay?"

"y-yeah sorry, its just- its been a while since i smiled" i absentmindedly told her, seriously what is up with me today?

she wanted to say something but then someone called her from the crowd behind us. I could tell she was trying to choose if she should stay with me or go

"I think your friends are calling you, y/n?" I asked, since I heard her friends call her by that name

"Yes it's y/n" she smiled "you?"

"P-Peter" I shook her hand

"Nice name Pete, we'll promise me you'll try to smile more?" Her eyes showing nothing but concern

"I'll try" I nodded still smiling like an idiot. But then I panicked, what if this is her last day here? What if she'll leave and I never see her again "I'd really love to see you again" I blurted out, goddammit Peter. She looked back at me

"Me too" she laughed, taking her phone out to open a new contact And I did the same

"See you soon Pete" she looked at me one last time

"See you, y/n/n" y/n/n? I looked back at her and it looked like she liked it coz she went up and kissed me in the cheek, and I looked so starstruck that I heard Thor and nat snickering behind us, great.

ONF in Cafe AU

(Establishment)

A/N : 200 followers special!! This different universe from Baker Yuto

Settings : A total brand new universe where they just gather by pure coincidence. Or an alternate universe where ONF later when their contract ended, they gathered to open a cafe once Yuto return to Korea from graduating his bakery course back in Japan. Hyojin, Seungjun and Jaeyoung helped by researching how to register+open business in Korea.

Roles

Yuto : The bread maker

Seungjun : Barista

Hyojin & Jaeyoung : Chief waiter and in charge of cashier

Minkyun : Assisting waiter and more of a helper in the kitchen preparing ingredients

Changyoon : In charge of other menus such as sandwiches/bagel sandwich and dessert

Reader : could be part timer or the regular guest (bonus a fan of ONF as well)

Bonus : Minseok might occasionally drop by to visit or Minseok as another member in the kitchen (i mean have you seen his IG???!!!!!)

Headcanons

As Yuto is more of a bread lover, the cafe would be a bakery+cafe style eatery.

The menu is made and proposed by all 6 of them. Also before they start running business, the kitchen gang has already tried making food to do taste test. (Including WM family)

The menu is written in Korean, English and Japanese.

Yuto would keep trying on making the best bread so he would experiment with different options such as more milk or less flour

Hyojin would always give ideas to improvise. And members trust Hyojin's thoughts because he is such a foodie XD

Seungjun would research and practice on his barista skills.

Changyoon would do graphic design of the menu

Minkyun and Jaeyoung would go out to find spot to rent and open cafe

Once the cafe is opened, this is how they run it.

Because of ONF's nature, I personally think they will test the timing of business by doing a few around of simulations.

This would be suggested by Changyoon and agreed by the leaders

So before they opened, they really tried it out at the empty cafe and simulated with full house for 3~5 days straight. Then they are content with the current timing as below.

I also think Seungjun Jaeyoung and Yuto would keep suggesting adjustments on the timing.

Especially Seungjun and Yuto. Seungjun in the bystander view because he is the barista and Yuto sharing the perspective on what timing those outside kitchen should alert those in the kitchen. They would run timer using their phone.

Bakery closes on 6pm, tidying done by 7:15pm, head out for dinner or simple dinner by whipping up some left over ingredients.

Grocery shopping on 8:45pm or 9pm, headback for cafe for preparations if necessary

Next day 6am at cafe to do early preparations, bakery side and morning take away opens on 7:30am,

10:00am opens for eat in + buffet, they do not do dinner so closes at 6pm and repeat for every day.

They closes on big event public holidays, end of the year+new year.

(They will get quick lunch by ingredients whipped up from the kitchen. Hyojin will switch with Jaeyoung, Seungjun will switch with the part timer, Yuto will get quick bites while waiting for dough to rise, Changyoon and Minkyun will switch)

(BTW this is just reference from my weak experience working on restaurant)

There are 5 walkie talkies. Hyojin, Seungjun and Jaeyoung have 1 each, 1 at the cashier and another is at the kitchen with speakers. This is for them to communicate and alert each other about the crowd and also any food items that are running out.

BTW should we are using the Minseok as one of the member in kitchen, he did not join immediately. But he do drop by to support his hyungs and being the 2nd food taster.

His hyungs and Yuto are a bit reluctant to recruit him but, to their surprise, Minsk volunteered himself.

And oh boy his hyungs all in awe at how good this baby boy's cooking is!!!

Funny moment when Seungjun caught Hyojin eyes are gleaming with bliss after Hyojin tasted Minseok's food. And then only the other hyungs swarming over wanting to taste Minseok's cooking lol

(Hyojin already numb due to so many times food tasting lol but cos he loves to eat he still finishes all the samples. But Minseok's cooking was a breather for him at that exact moment)

Also Changyoon has an idea that putting surveys on each table and let guests to fill in. When they submit to cashier, they might get coupons (?) or maybe discounts about 83%

Or maybe some collectibles and when they got all six stickers, they get 83% discount? (its flexible)

The cafe gains popularity because of the quality and due to good looks of chief waiters and barista.

Also, I think in their menu, (should this is the contract ended ONF universe), they might integrate the member recommendations, it is flexible either food or drink. Or maybe both

Hyojin definitely going to recommend 2 smoothies.

Changyoon would recommend pasta and dessert

Minkyun will go for a sandwich

Jaeyoung might recommend Yuto's sourdough bruschetta

Seungjun will recommend one type of latte

And Yuto will recommend 1 or 2 breads found at bakery/buffet corner. But for menu he would give out tips like which bread type goes better with which cheese or jam

（BTW I think its cute should they use their mascot deer, shark, maltese, gorilla, cat and bread as avatar/icon that appear at recommendations!）

And on their birthday, (this could be Seungjun's idea) there will be a 83% discount sticker placed on the recommended food/drink by the member.

And since we talked about menu...

Again its a bread themed cafe, so the main would be bread, brunch and all day breakfast.

Bread type (buffet) : mini croissants, mini buns, scones, baguette, bagel, white loaf, sourdough

Bread type (bakery) : croissant, buns, garlic bread, scones, baguette, bagel, red bean bun, packed bread loafs

Let me explain about buffet first.

Buffet is for brunch+lunch, which starts on 10:30am to 2pm. Its a 90 minutes course. In that course you can pick 1 of each option of bread, salad, toppings, sides (sausages, hams, cheese and baked beans) and also random desserts.

They offer butter (salted and unsalted), 3 to 4 types of jams (strawberry, mixed fruit and marmalade), variety of paste to go with bread (mashed avocado and Parmesan garlic pesto). also Nutella

For buffet, beverage there already stocked variety of juices, warm coffee and tea (that are already prepared earlier) and fresh water

Cheese they will go for cheddar, Havarti, Feta, Mozarella and brown cheese.

Should you don't go for buffet, they have eat in cafe menu. Which are separately made set meals that comes with beverage. Like sandwiches, bagel sandwiches, spaghetti/pastas, or bruschetta with topping of your choice (6 the most)

Seungjun would prepare freshly brewed coffee, latte, tea, frappe and even smoothie.

Desserts are all simple desserts, like mini tarts and mini cupcake. For specially ordered ones would non baked stuffs that Changyoon and Minkyun made early in the morning and stored in fridge (because dont wanna clash with Yuto baking should any bread nearly sold out. Also can have more flexible timing should Yuto need help they can back up)

Initially, Changyoon will always make extra desserts by x2.5 amount, especially mini tarts or mini cupcakes at the buffet area. He is a worry wart.

BTW the bell Changyoon presented Yuto during OnDaeJeon? Its later used at the cafe lol. As the alert tool for waiters that food is done come and take it

I think on early years, at most 2 years, they are not going to do delivery or food app order service just yet.

But they will run an Instagram or twitter account for the cafe and using it just like how they are doing with they current twitter account. Promoting food and giving out random recommendations also a glimpse of their daily lifes running the cafe and bakery

I think Changyoon would upload a pic of seasonal fruit and a teaser for new seasonal dessert? And then lol it will sometimes plot twist ends up being seasonal beverage that made by Seungjun lol

Should Minseok is not a member running the cafe, the boys consult with him occasionally about adding new seasonal,time limited items.

Also Hyojin and Yuto being the photographer taking picture of the food. Oops I forgot, the pictures of food items in menu are both taken by them too!

Minkyun will bring along one of his fave part timer to do emergency grocery shopping should he needed a hand.

Hyojin and Jaeyoung will try to help customer to decide by suggesting recommendation

Also Hyojin, who would sometimes keep an eye on how customer do combination on their food and get inspiration from it then later try to propose to the team.

As chief waiters, both Hyojin and Jaeyoung would always during at the cashier, asking customers should they have any suggestions or proposal (even if they submitted the survey). Values communications and feedback between staff and customers.

Also Seungjun will help out keeping an eye in case they miss out someone trying to call a waiter. Later after a year of profits, they upgraded to bell calling service type, press a button and they come serve you in a minute.

Initially, Hyojin and Jaeyoung would make use of walkie talkie to recite orders that they get so that Seungjun, Yuto, Changyoon and Minkyun can get them

After maybe a couple months of profit, they upgraded it to tablets. while the walkie talkie is used as mentioned above, to alert regarding to run out/sold out food items.

Also, once reached closing hours, I think they will also have a brief meeting. Especially for waiters team. I think Hyojin would guide and critique on performance.

In overall it is very warm to work with ONF but you have to keep up because they are also strict.

I can see should they know part timers birthday, they would wish them. Maybe Changyoon/Minseok will shove special dessert or pasta for them.

It will be funny that some fans went there hoping to see Yuto, Changyoon and Minkyun but they are busy, do not want to disappoint, Hyojin and Seungjun might try to call them out using walkie talkie. (only apply to the contract end universe)

Oh I had a thought, maybe not the public knows that Minseok joined? I think maybe its also Minseok's terms and conditions because he does not want the spotlight he just wanna help running the business

Also should WM family drop by to visit, the first word as they enter the door, both sides will go “Aigooooo~~~~!!!” (Refer to RTK where Oh My Girl drops by to check out ONF for TWML practise)

Should that happen, its a big day for the fans

BUT!!! I can think ONF cafe later be the hangout spot for WM family? like member’s birthday? lets go to ONF cafe! Because Yuto baked a cake specially for us!! and off they go~ 

I mean its a great deal, considering Yuto’s love for bread and he did not sell customised cakes. So its personalised stuff he made for those he cared about.

That is why mostly the gathering will happen after 6pm or

Maybe WM managers drop by to pick up the special cake

Also, Yuto let part timers to have leftover breads or desserts at bakery and buffet area for free. His hyungs agreed because you should not waste food. Plus freshly made bread are their selling point so they won't recycle them.

Cutie Reviews: Sakuraco March 21

I’m so sorry anyone who was waiting for this DX after getting it I realized that I should take a day or two enjoying everything, rather then opening it all at once. I got it Tuesday so my goal was to get it up Wednesday, then Thursday.

So then wouldn’t you know, when I got to begin working on this the first time, my laptop decides it don’t want to cooperate. Anyway, it seems to be fine again so we’re going to get into this. I hope you’re excited!

For anyone who might be unfamiliar with the blog, or hasn’t seen my post covering this new branding. Sakuraco is by the popular Japanese-themed series of subscription boxes from Tokyo Treat. What makes this different from their normal snack box, is that this one is more focused on the local unique items that you usually wouldn’t see outside of Japan, elegant snacks for tea, pastries, pretty utensils, and so on.

We get pages covering the items in the box, the month’s theme and various special things about Japan; such as a page on Niigata prefecture, and pages related to Hanami/Cherry Blossom Viewing. Lastly, there is the photo contest page, and some social media stuff. The book also covers the makers of the items, if they are Vegetarian friendly, and have any allergens.

Sweet Sakura Tea

Our first two items are tea drinks, one was a bonus however, so I won’t be going into detail as I can’t exactly tell what it was supposed to be. This one however, was one of the main vocal points of the box, and very exciting! This tea only requires this pickled sakura/cherry blossom flower and very hot water. As you combine the two, the flower opens and you’re free to drink it. You can also re-use the flower to bake with if you wanted.

This tea comes from Japan Green Tea Center in Tokyo. This is vegetarian and includes no allergens.

I hope I don’t offend anyone, but I didn’t like this. I mean, I don’t like tea very much to begin with but this doesn’t even taste like tea- it tasted like the salty water I throw together and gargle with when I have mouth work done, or throat soreness. It was really pretty to watch/try, but it’s taste isn’t for me. I guess I just have an immature palette.

Sakura Konpeito

In this box, we’ll also be seeing some items exclusively made for/by it. This was our first of those items, little konpeito (sugar candies resembling little stars, those things Mario collects in the Mario Galaxy series). These are by Sasaki Confections, veg friendly and no allergens.

Sakura Monaka & Strawberry Castella

I decided to only name the items the box  is supposed to have, rather then add in the names of the bonus items. The reason this plate looks so full is because the Monaka came in 2 shapes, and the small pink thing is a bonus item. It’s a little piece of mochi, I think specifically ohagi. It’s small and the very cute, it was also fun to squish both in and out of the package :D I’m not sure about the flavor, it seems to be plain/sugary, but there’s a hint of something vaguely like coconut.

Next up is the baby Dorayaki nearby. Not much to say, it was very basic with red bean filling, just several times smaller than normal.

Next up, the Monaka, which as I said above came in 2 shapes and features a cute print resembling a cup or bowl with a brush used to whisk matcha. This one’s by Ito Confectionery in Nagano, veg friendly, no allergens. Filled with red bean, it has notes of sakura and a thin, melt in your mouth pink wafer outside.

I like the taste of wafer, which is pretty non-existent. These are especially soft and melty, they stick to your lips a little. I can’t really confirm the scent of the sakura (my nose isn’t very reliable <3< it only works some times), but the red bean filling is very tasty, so I’d like to say it’s in there. I usually don’t entirely enjoy red bean, but it didn’t bother me here.

The castella is a thin cake-like sandwich usually filled with cream, in this case strawberry! This is by Nisshindo Confectionery in Nagano, veg friendly, but it has soybeans, milk, egg, and flour in it. The cake itself is made from brown sugar, and it has a very light, airy texture.

It seems kind of plain/basic when you look at it, and you don’t really get much cream. But it was still tasty in a gentle, delicate kind of way. Some people might say it’s underwhelming, but it offers a nice contrast to the other contents and you can still taste the cream. 

Sakura Madeleine, White Peach Castella, & Uji Matcha Castella

The madeleine comes from Ebisu Confectionery in Osaka. Veg friendly, but it has the same allergens as those listed above. You can see an image of it opened in the next pic, but I’ll talk about it here. It has sakura extract worked into the dough prior to baking. It resembles a muffin, or non-decorated cupcake.

I actually can’t remember this one in exact detail, but I know I liked it. It offered that hint of Sakura in a good way, and had a fluffy texture.

These other two are another type of Castella Cake, which basically resemble a slice of plain cake. One is made from matcha/green tea, while the other is white peach. Both come from Ash Food Confectionery, located in Okayama. Both veg friendly, but they have the same allergens already listed, plus peach. 

The matcha cake features a red beans baked into the dough, while the white peach uses peach puree.

Both were very delicious x3 the cake was soft and moist, they tasted very fresh. I’m not big on green tea but I didn’t hate that one at all, I LOVED the peach one a lot though. It was sweet and the peach flavor was very noticeable. I’d recommend it out of the two, but both were winners in my book :3

Strawberry Dorayaki & Sakura Strawberry Crepe Roll

The madeleine ended up here because I completely forgot I already took it’s picture. I reviewed it above, so just try to ignore it’s presence here. Also, the plate you see being used was included with the box :3 isn’t it lovely~?

I’ll start with the crepe as there isn’t much to say, it’s in the packaging beneath the other two. It was all broken apart so I left it in the pack until I wanted to eat it. It comes from Nakajima Taishodo in Osaka, veg friendly, typical allergens. It has sakura worked into the batter to provide scent, and thin strawberry filling prior to being rolled up.

Broken or not it still tasted good. The flavoring was light but noticeable, so I enjoyed it.

Our dorayaki comes from Hiyoshi Confectionery in Shimane, featuring the semi-sweet, pancake-esque treat (another type of castella) with strawberry jam and red bean filling. Veg friendly, features flour and egg allergens.

The booklet suggests eating this with the sakura tea as it should enhance the flavors of the filling.

It’s on the dry side, not enough to make someone choke. The pancake outside has a faint maple scent and it’s not very sweet, and I can’t really say I was a big fan of the filling. It only tastes like red bean to me, I couldn’t notice any sign of strawberry.

Peach Sandwich, Red Bean Taiyaki, & Sakura Mochi Monaka

Our first snack comes from Bankokuya in Kagoshima, veg friendly, typical allergens; but oddly, no peach allergen. There is traces of alcohol in it though, which I didn’t even notice. It’s a simple, cake-like sandwich filled with peach cream.

The cake outside has a grainy, sugary texture which I wasn’t a huge fan of. But the cake is soft and the peach filling was sweet and fluffy~

Next up is a Monaka with mochi filling, from Tenkei Confectionery in Nagano. Veg friendly, includes egg. The monaka wafer is filled with a red bean mochi flavored with sakura petals baked inside,

For as much as I like unique textures, I found this to be... too unique for me. The combination of crispy wafer didn’t go with the soft and squishy mochi inside. The mochi wasn’t my favorite either, but it wasn’t bad.

Our last item here is another Sakuraco exclusive, a red bean taiyaki created by Haraya in Shimame. Veg friendly, typical allergens. Taiyaki is a fluffy, soft snack similar to the dorayaki (minus the maple flavoring), which is usually filled with red bean, cream, or chocolate. There’s even a special pan one can purchase in order to make them, and they are very popular.

It’s soft and maybe a little dry, but I was mainly impressed with the detail on it, given how small it is. It’s really cute x3 Again, I’m not the biggest fan of red bean, and this was filled with it. So if you like it, you’d probably love this, but if you never tried it before or are like me, it’s sort of a meh thing. 

Sakura Senbei, Sakura Shrimp Senbei, & Sakurasen Cracker

Believe it or not, but we do get some savory items in here too! I love rice, especially when it’s in senbei form like this. These are each made by different companies and locations, so let’s start with the mini-sakura, shall we?

These are by Sakurado Confectionery in Niigata, and surprisingly are not veg friendly- because they include shrimp, flour, soybeans, and gelatin. They include soy sauce flavoring.

Besides being really cute, they were pretty good. I wanted to love these and thought I would... but there is a shrimpiness that I could identify even without knowing it was in them. I used to like shrimp but for some reason I can’t stand it now. It bothered me a little, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Our rounded senbei comes from Sugi Confectionery in Aichi. It’s not veg friendly, and is made from flour, soybean, and squid. It has a mellow flavor and is a season limited edition item for Spring only, featuring the taste of Sakura.

The sakura-shaped senbei is from Kanazawa Kenroku Confectionery in Mie. Contains shrimp, not veg friendly.

I felt the same way about both of them honestly. I tasted the fishiness so I really couldn’t tolerate them very much. Especially the round one, it’s crunch bordered on being unpleasant for me, but I loved the puffy-crunch of the other one. While they weren’t my favorites of the box, my mom (an avid seafood lover) liked them, in fact I think they perked her up a little that day when I gave them to her. She returned from chemo and was pretty hungry. 

Yoshino Kuzamochi

I saved this item for last because I was the most excited for it! This one comes from Nakajima Taishodo again. Kuzamochi is like a stiff jello, usually with little taste that you enhance using things such as a caramel, maple, or brown sugar sauce and/or kinako powder, which tastes a bit like peanut butter in my opinion. It contains soy beans (you roast them to get kinoko powder), and is veg friendly.

I know it doesn’t look very aesthetically pleasing (I made a little heart on top though~) but it tastes so yummy! The plain kuzamochi didn’t have much flavor, but adding both the sauce and kinako really adds to it. The brown sugar makes it sweet, while the kinako adds a gentle, toasty earthiness. The texture might be a little off-putting to some, given it’s jello-ish consistency, but I loved it.

Opinions

Content - 3 out of 5. One thing was broken but otherwise everything was great. I did have a couple of items I didn’t particularly like the taste of but it was so exciting to try everything! 

Theme: 4.5 out of 5. It was an elegant feeling box, by that I mean, seeing all the flowery inspiration and items. It was kind of nice how the first box they made actually matched up with the name, but that was probably just a coincidence. There was a couple of items that didn’t fit the theme, but that’s a bit trivial.

Total Rank: 8 out of 10 Cuties. For the first box, I thought it was just lovely. As I said, I had some complaint over taste but you can’t please everyone. I was so excited to get this box, everything was fun to try, and I love learning more about Japan so I appreciate how full our booklet is x3 I can tell they put a lot of effort into making this box, so I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
