Sanders sides mimecraft/YouTuber au
Some basic info is missing but they all have roughly the same age/subscribers and stuff
Patton:
Collects EVERY animal and names them all . 'Teams up' with people a lot. Mainly makes funny and casual irl games and vlogs.  He can only really play mc well and never uses cheats  ("not the honest or hardworking thing to do!")  Always has a MASSIVE Base (mainly houses for his animals and farms so he can feed them all)  either dies every five minutes or never dies there's no in-between  (the more upset he is the more he dies normally)  has a new hair colour every month (definitely virgil's doing)  has a subscriber farm/ garden  and puts atleast 2 people in it each episode
Swears like sailor   when playing so he has really edited and almost never livestreams  when playing minecraft he does do lots of qna/ irl games on livestreams and sometimes convinces one of the others to join. Has a "not PG" playlist of collabs where he has a few swears and dirty jokes (normally from the others). Travels a lot and always has a bag of sweets (vegan and everything free so anyone can eat them)  incase he meets any fans when out.  Has and will spend hours collecting things for his friends if he hears them complain about how they can't find any insert item here or need a certain amount of it but can't get it.  He has a "drop off hut" at their spawn where everyone but him has a chest and he'll leave whatever they need  for them to pick up and occasionally he'll leave sweet notes in them too if he knows they're having a bad day.  Doesn't make serious videos often but will always speak out on other social media about current events (blm, lgbt shiz etc) and give his support and thoughts on it there are some issues he doesn't talk about for personal reasons tho.
Basic info... 22..... vvv gay.......  totally not crushing on remus..... trans dude.....  about 3/4 mil followers.
Logan:
Has a good sized Base and is focused on efficency and survival. Almost always streaming or filming. Has 2 pets à series (max.)  And the rest if the farm animals are definitely not pets (most have names and he refuses to kill them). Is practically a god by episode 5 so most of  the time he does stupid challenges and makes shops and trades/ helps  the others.  He only ever blogs for events (vidcon/comicon)  most of the time his camera is stolen by either remus, patton or Roman and they'll make sure to get all the funny and embarrassing moments on film.  Logan always réalisés two videos for each event eg :  video one: "Vidcon 2020 day 2"   video two: " Vidcon 2020 day 2 patton's  cut" (where all the shenanigans and  weird shit is posted).
He's always a sarcastic mum (so normal )  and loves to watch the playful banter and whenever any of the viewers see it he'll be spammed with edits and art for the next month or two. Of course he goes through everything he's tagged in and makes sure to like and comment. Because it's logan everyone still simps for  him and he posts photos a lot  and lots of group photos from when they all meet up and shiz  and most of the comments are people drooling over him.
Has a playlist of info videos where he talks about social justice stuff and is super supportive and informative about it and almost always gets someone he knows and is affected by it to talk to and make sure he's doing it the right way and he has all kinds of channels linked that talk about it all in more depth and always links petitions and places to learn and donate.
Basic info:  24... gay ..... abt 3/4 million subscribers... in a relationship with virgil  but only the group know about it.
Roman:
Roman asks his subscribers every series for a theme (pirates, Princes,  mediaval, fairies etc) each series which he has to stick to
Always over the top and dramatic
Livestrwams once a week (mainly mining) and he has a few hours where he'll do song requests and they call it radio time and occasionally he'll get his bf or whoever's home to do lives with him and they'll do qnas and shiz abd sometimes do mini versions of tags abd shiz
Merch galore he has merch for every series (they're vvv long) tries to get fans to design them and uses underground artists
So many collabs
Lots of people think he has tattoos he sometimes tries to cover when really it's doodles that were done in sharpie and still haven't come off.
Shipped with EVERYONE and often has to make posts saying "I love y'alls creativity but all my friends are in relationships and please do not ship us because it makes it very uncomfortable and awkward."
Makes  so many vlogs and is always doing something new and interesting.
Has the most extra and intricate bases and all kinds of weird pets and he changes his skin for each series.
Remus:
No one remembers adding him to the servers or anything but he's just there.
Normally shares a base with patton or is super close to it and basically has a house with a lava moat and a basement abd that's it. So many swears and dirty jokes.  Lots of random short vlogs that he has in a playlist that's called 'why I love these dumbasses'. Constantly flirts with patton and when they start dating publicly they do all kinds of tags and have a mc world together where everyone thinks they'll be sweet and wholesome but most of it is them killing eachother for the fun of it which everyone is mad for.
Remus always challenges patton to find a super rare pet (jokes on you remus patton has every pet in the game by episode 5)  for filler videos where they don't know what to do. Remus does lots of trolling and making traps/ death houses videos and mainly plays on servers or plays other games (mainly horror). Always ends up pissing someone on the server off and starting a war (they all know it's all in good fun) and spends wayyyyy too long working on different pranks for different people (He once made logan's house neon pink by hand)
Janus is pretty normal and will play with mods so he can get reptiles as pets. Is barely ever on servers and will barely play on them if he's part of one. He does lots of one off challenges / games with the others. Doesn't post anything but gaming vids and only ever does voice-over and no cam for a long time and is shipped  with everyone  he had every social media but only posts about upcoming videos and events. Lowest subs of the group as he doesn't do it for the income (unlike most of the others)  and just does it because the others convinced him. He keeps his home life secret until he accidentally turned up in the background of one of Remy's videos and everyone went mad with theories and he came out and explained it all so after tgat he occasionally posts vlogs for big events but that's it. He lives with emile and remy in a 2 bed apartment (they were previously roomates) and has his own room which is really an office with a spare bed in it.
Virgil :
Mainly does series on his own or speed running /parkour.  He's weirdly good at building so he has a series where he builds houses for his friends. He does a mixture of  art and gaming videos when he does collab with the others it's always one off games against eachother (bedwars parkour etc)  he almost always wins (his only real competiton is logan) and stays silent most the time   and only really throws around insults.
Remy (+emile)
Lifestyle  and challenge blogs doesn't game but he has tried a few times on janus' channel (so has emile)  he has a playlist  of mental health videos made by emile (He's still a therapist but he wanted a way to help people further so he does these with remy)  and occasionally does makeup / fashion videos and is a super super popular channel so his bfs  (janus and emile) don't really need to work but they like to contribute.

Ok firstly, you're not wrong that I pulled the "respect your elders" card. In fact, I felt a bit ridiculous doing so because (I mentioned this in a different post after this one) being 22 neither makes me old, nor does it give me a free check on maturity. But demographically speaking, I am older than most of this fandom. That is pure fact.
Well I'm glad you acknowledge that you used a strawman argument there. Comparing companies like amazon and disney, who will put on a rainbow facade in one breath and then fire it's trans employees and donate millions to anti-lgbt politicians in the next, to minecraft youtubers is ridiculous, even as a strawman.
I never said a single thing about watching minecraft youtubers being world changing. I never said that there isn't lot of room for improvement, I never said to be uncritical and not to expect better. Maybe I should have been clearer about that in the original post, but I never meant it to come across as "be happy to be tolerated and be thankful for any scraps you're given".
I praise this community for being inclusive, but it's far from perfect. It is noticable that despite the community being very welcoming to female and lgbt creators, the biggest ones who pull in the most views are (presumably) cishet white boys. The community still lacks a lot of diversity and especially black creators are widely underpresented. Lgbt and POC ccs face far more scrutiny than their cishet white peers and some things cishet white ccs will say or do can very clearly be traced back to a place of immense privilige. (Tubbo's admiration for Elon Musk springs to mind)
However, I would not say that this community merely tolerates us. If it was just one obligatory pride tweet and nothing else, then I wouldn't give a shit. It's the pride tweets on top of everything else.
It's in the way LGBT streamers get to do their thing with barely any harrassment (I'm not gonna act like there's none), it's in the way the most popular MC server in the world rn treats non-hetero relationships as the norm and never uses being gay as a joke. (In fact the running joke is that the only het relationship is between one of the guys and a female fish) It's in the way Krtzyy came out as pan 2 days ago and the community just went with it. The way I can list at least 10 lgbt streamers who are prominent in the community from the top of my head (when a few years ago that number would have been far smaller, if not non-existent). The way ranboo raised 100000$ for the trevor project and then continued to donate thousands to them every month without publizising it. The way Dream and hbomb pledged to donate every cent they made while streaming in june to LGBT charities. The way Philza curates his chat by banning anything homophobic or racist immediately and then goes and does the same in all of chats he's a mod for. (So like Tommy, Tubbo, Ranboo, Will). The way everytime someone comes out to chat they get warm support by both the chat and the cc. The way the event organizer of the biggest minecraft tournament rn is a gay man, who goes out of his way to make that very clear in the way MCC looks and is run and who is a well loved and valued member of the community. The way streamers will actively educate themselves on new things they come across and then do better the next time etc. etc. ect.
If it was just one tweet I wouldn't care. But it's not just one tweet. And I never exclusively talked about the tweets in the original post either. I mentioned quite a few of the things I just said, just in less detail. You just elected to ignore that.
Somebody in the reblog tags pointed me towards Narcissa Wright. A trans speedrun streamer that came out as trans in 2016, who got harassed off the platform after her coming out. This was 5 years ago. The difference is obvious.
I mentioned gamergate in the original post and I expanded upon this in a reblog edit I did, but it's not visible in the replies unless you click on the reblog itself. So I'll put it again here:
"Edit: Also, I want to reiterate just how bad the gamergate era of the internet was and that wasn't even a decade ago. That was a movement that was one of the building blocks to the formation of the alt-right. It was a testing ground for methods to systematically harrass creators and jounalists off of all of their platforms. And this got directed at women and lgbt people (and especially lgbt people of colour. Let's not forget the racism) The sin these people commited? Being visible and having opinions.
If you want to further educate yourself on the matter, I highly recommend Dan Olson's video "#Gamergate"
youtube
And Innuendo Studio's series "Why are you so angry" and it's even better follow up "the Alt-right playbook"
As I said, this community is is far from perfect and I wish there was even more diversity, but it's a hub of safety for a lot of lgbt people, especially teens, who might live in places where being open about themselves could be a death sentence, or even just really unpleasent. And to critizise them for being happy when their idols not just tolerate them but lift them up at every given opportunity, just seems unneccesarily miserable and harsh. Compared to most of the rest of the gaming space, or just the minecraft space a few years ago, we've come a long fucking way.
Look, I don't post on this website. I lurk. But I do want to say smth for once.
As someone who just turned 22, I'm older than a lot of people in this fandom. A pretty significant part of this fandom is much, much younger than me, often somewhere between 10-15 years old, and a huge part of this fandom is lgbtqia and a lot of them are just now figuring themselves out.
So when the ccs they look up to, use their platform to loudly and openly declare their support to the community then absolutely no one has a right to criticise these kids, or anyone else for feeling reassured, validated, or just happy about it.
Is it the height of allyship? No. Is it basic human decency? Ideally, yes.
But what a lot of this fandom is just too young to remember (and tbh, I'm almost too young too) is how utterly shit the gaming space was just 5-7 years ago.
Gamergate harassed female and lgbt people to the point of actually endangering their lives purely because they dared to be visible and loud in a male cishet dominated space.
Hell, switch to a different fandom and you'll still see people complaining how female protagonists aren't sexualized enough and how PC culture is ruining games.
The fact that this fandom, which, just a few days ago, reached almost 1 million concurrent live viewers for mcc and which is large enough to get "Dogboy" trending just because a creator tweeted "bark" on twitter, is so agressively lgbtqia friendly is honestly a miracle.
You have streamers actively educating themselves everytime they learn smth new, you have others donating thousands to lgbt charities and others curating their audience by banning homophobes and racists with prejucide, so that their audience is comfortable, you have them creating an smp that basically functions as a homonormative society and male streamers unafraid to treat their male friends with love and affection, etc..
Are they perfect? Hell no. Are they largely white (presumably) cishet guys? Yes. (Though I don't want to diminish the contribution of streamers like Eret, Antfrost, Niki, Puffy, Velvet, Scott, etc. (for lgbt) and skeppy, TapL, Quackity, Ponk, etc. (for poc)). Are their tweets basic human decency? Also yes.
But can you take it for granted? Sadly no.
So if you saw Dream, Tommy, Tubbo, Phil's, Ranboo's, etc. Pride month tweets earlier and felt happy about them? You are within your complete right to feel that way.
In an ideal world we wouldn't need to celebrate these occurances, but we don't live in that ideal world, so if a cc's words bring you comfort while you're figuring things out, good for you.
I think it's important to occasinally put this fandom in a gamer fandom history perspective and see how insanely far we've come in just the last 5 years. If you'd told me 5 years ago that one of the biggest and most active fandoms on the internet 2020 and 2021 would be an agressively lgbt friendly minecraft community, where support comes both from the bottom up as well as from up top, I would not have believed you.
I don't think we have to or should put cc's on a pedastal for this, but I do think it's sometimes worth remembering where we came from and where we are now and how goddamn lucky we are for it.
Edit: excuse my punctuation. It's 4am and I'm typing this on my phone /lh

Bdubs: When people talk about BdoubleO, it’s usually either about his legendary building skills or his chaotic energy with the others. But something that is rarely mentioned yet deeply respected by most Hermitcraft fans is his true purpose behind all his amazing videos.
Many people already know that Bdubs stopped making videos in 2017, due to tragic personal events, but he returned after some time. And he’s spoken about this in multiple episodes, but when he came back, he came back with a singular intention: to make others happy. The sole reason he started making videos again is to fulfill this purpose, and he’s explicitly said, “My mission is to spread joy”. The fact that he has such a sincere, kind-hearted approach to his videos and his community already makes him one of the most admirable creators out there. Yet it’s the way he was able to take this experience and turn it into a positive that makes him one of the strongest people I know. His ability to use what happened as motivation to bring positivity and light to other people is a testament to his strength and compassion as a person.
At the same time, I think it’s important to note that Bdubs’ message isn’t about tragedy and resilience. The reason why he doesn’t mention this often is because he doesn’t want to people to be upset. All he’s doing is trying to encourage people to cherish the present. He looks back on his past as an inspiration for  today. At the end of the day, Bdubs just wants to spread smiles and laughter to as many people as possible, and if Minecraft’s the platform to do it, then so be it.
Iskall: There’s honestly a lot that could be said about Iskall. Something important (that other people have already mentioned in the tags) is that he’s been a vocal supporter of non-binary (NB) rights. He’s denounced Notch and has stated that his Minecraft character doesn’t identify with a specific gender. Although all the hermits and many other well-known Minecraft creators have said things in support of LGBT+ rights, I really appreciate Iskall saying NB rights, since it seems like it’s rare for people to explicitly mention NB people.
Personally though, another thing that always comes to mind with Iskall is his hardworking nature. Mumbo’s mentioned before that Iskall is one of the hardest working people he knows, and I think the best example is Vault Hunters (VH).
So, a lot of people are already impressed by the fact that VH took eight months to develop, but if you ask me, I would say it’s really a project four years in the making. Iskall and his team have been working to develop modpacks for years. One of, if not the, earliest examples is the Hermitpack from way back in 2016, and since then he’s been working with his devs to create numerous other packs, Hermitquest, Foolcraft, Funcraft, etc. Different as they are, each pack has built on the one prior, and VH is the product of all these years of work. Because if you look back, you can tell VH has pulled elements from every single one.
Relic Boosters for example are an idea from all the way back to Hermitcraft Season 4. They’re based on Ren’s original Hermitron game in S4! For Ren’s game, Hermits would need to find shulkers hidden around the server that had "Hermitrons” hidden inside, and the goal was to collect them and complete a set of Hermitrons, similar to completing a set of artifacts in Decked Out. Iskall’s team first implemented Hermitrons in the first season of Foolcraft in 2017, and they’ve carried into all the subsequent modpacks. Since then, they’ve evolved, and now they’ve turned into Relic Boosters! So not only is it neat that you can look back and see how ideas have changed over time, but it also shows how long Iskall’s been working on things like this. The fact that he’s spent all these years in the background trying to create the perfect modded adventure, is just, wow.
Furthermore, he’s still always working on VH. VH is still, very much a work in progress, and it’s clear Iskall’s been dedicating most of his free time to it. After any big update, he always talks about how tired he is from working on it, and during one of Hbomb’s streams he even mentioned that he puts a lot of time into making pretty patch notes for the others. Not to mention how, no matter who I’m watching on VH, odds are Iskall is online. He’s always looking for ways to improve it and add to the game. I know he mentioned in one stream that he and Ren often have brainstorming sessions for things they can add to the pack. The fact that he’s always just trying to improve on VH and knows there’s still ways it can be better just goes to show how dedicated he is to this project and how it’s such a labor of love. Furthermore, he’s doing all this development stuff in addition to everything on Hermitcraft. If this isn’t a testament to Iskall’s dilligence, I dunno what is.
But something else about Iskall, that I don’t think we as fans really get to see, is how supportive he is of everyone. Behind the scenes, I think Iskall’s one of the kindest people around. Something that surprised me with VH was how often Iskall was around to help. I can name multiple occasions for EACH Vault Hunter where Iskall came by, either to give supplies or offer advice. Plus, as much as he and the devs always nerf him, Iskall has nothing but serious respect for Captain Sparkles, calling him the “Omega Gamer”.
Iskall’s always there to uplift and assist the others, and of course he’s the same on Hermitcraft. Stress is the obvious example, but there’s also his friendships with Mumbo and Ren. Iskall and Mumbo are known to have a teasing, competitive friendship, but I do seriously think there’s something to be said about Iskall bringing Mumbo out of his shell more. Even though Mumbo was one of the earliest Hermits, he wasn’t that involved in group activities until Iskall came around. Only during the latter half of Season 4 did he start collabing more, especially with Iskall, and of course since then he’s been much more involved with the others. In a similar vein, (which again was already brought up in the tags and in a different reblog), Scar has also talked about how he genuinely appreciates Iskall, since he was one of the first people to reach out him after he got sick, which is sweeter than words could say. Iskall just seems to have a knack for reaching out to people and making connections. But obviously one of the most iconic and best bromances friendships on the server is Iskall and Ren. The moment that stands out for them is from Season 6, when Ren’s recounting Minecon 2018, he talks about how nervous he and Stress were when they were suddenly invited to do the live panel with less than a day’s notice. But then Iskall steps in and motivates them to take the opportunity, and so the next day Iskall and Cub woke up early just so they could go support Ren and Stress for the livestream. Ren’s always known as the hype man for a lot of the other hermits, so the fact that he has Iskall who never fails to support him is so, so great. A lot of the hermits have similar stories about how helpful and supportive Iskall is. Even False mentioned that she joined the leaves game, not so much for the prize, but to help Iskall out, since he’s always lending a hand to people.
As a whole, Iskall just seems like a really hardworking, considerate person who pours his heart into everything he does.
Hi Hermitblr
We’ve all been spreading Hermitcraft propaganda in the form of gushing about the hermits’ builds and their styles, but now I really would like a list of “little things the hermits do that made you think a lot”. Like hermits aren’t just fantastic creators, they’re also genuinely nice and wonderful people.
I’ll start off with two— Hermitcrafts Golden Boi and Golden Girl. Grian and FalseSymmetry.
Grian: there was a time in 2020 when he was super stressed and busy, probably because of his wedding/ engagement and other irl matters. He mentioned that in his videos, but he still tried his best to get his Hermitcraft episodes out on schedule. But in the midst of this, he commissioned Rendog’s brother Jono to write a song called Work, which was basically a song about Grian working and all the tasks he had to do, like mining, paying the bills, caving. It sounds happy and upbeat, but it also has lyrics like:
Hear there's a party on the weekend
Had to decline, creepers be creepin'
And
Keep on minin' even though I'm dyin'
The lyrics sounds sad, since it literally says “I’m so tired I wanna die” and “I’m sacrificing my social life for work”, which probably reflects what Grian felt when he commissioned Jono.
Grian was very busy and tired. But instead of wallowing in his negative emotions, he tried to be positive and productive by having a cheerful song for him to listen to while working. He even recorded a whole MV of him working probably because he thought it was fun, which could help him overcome burnout.
So Grian
1) had a positive attitude
2) took steps to maintain that positive attitude
3) supported a small talented creator
4) supported his close friend’s brother
5) did all of the above despite being tired and stressed out
False: We know her as False Supremacy and a builder, but False is actually very dedicated to her community and Hermitcraft. The main island in Hermitcraft Season 6 was divided into districts like the fantasy district, medieval district, modern district etc. But as time went on, most hermits were too distracted to focus on the districts, leaving behind a pile of builds with distinctive styles in their respective districts.
So when HC6 ended, while basically everyone else was packing up and finishing up their builds, it was False who quietly connected the districts together by mimicking the building styles of her friends, going so far as to say she didn’t want other hermits’ builds to feel lonely. It was False who loyally stayed behind, filling up the forgotten districts, doing her best to fulfill the vision the hermits had at the beginning.
False is also a frequent contributor to the hermits’ nether hub, but since the hermits use the nether hub for transpiration (which is boring), they don’t really talk about the builds in the nether. Yet, she takes the time to make it look pretty and complete, while being humble and never asking for recognition.
Well this went on longer than I anticipated, I hope more hermits can be added to the list <3
