okay so wyatt’s second wife was Mattie Blaylock a prostitute. she was addicted to laudnum and technically never had a legal wedding to wyatt, it was only a common-law marriage though it was listed in the US census. (im only mentioning these things bc theyre relevant im not like just trying to make her look bad or some dumb shit like that. these’re just the relevant facts)

so after wyatt’s famous gunfight at the ok corrall in tombstone arizona (fun fact the fight did not actually take place in the lot of the ok corrall but in an adjacent field. this misconception and misnaming of the famous fight came bc wyatt pointed to the wrong place on a map he drew years and years later) anyway the facts are kinda fuzzy but she went to a mining town in colorado to wait for a telegram from wyatt while he finished some business. he was supposed to either meet her or tell her where to meet him. they had been seeing each other for almost eight years at the time.

only he never sent a telegram. or showed up. instead he went to california where he got into a relationship and later married Sadie Earp, the woman who i think was the mother of the earp line even though in life they never had any kids. mattie returned to prostitution, only in the mining town the mines had all but dried up, making life difficult for everyone there, but particularly for her. she purposely overdosed on laudnum a few years later.

this might not sound like the shit that makes a revenant, but the blueberry barber man proves that wyatt doesnt have to kill someone directly to make them a rev, only be responsible for their death. im not saying that wyatt is the cause of mattie’s suicide, which was surely a combination of factors. but i am sure of two things 1) the wyatt earp we know in the show would probably blame himself for her death when (if) he learned of it 2) mattie spent years blaming wyatt for ruining her life, theres even a record just days before her suicide of her still blaming wyatt for the state of her life. i don think the curse is sentient enough to recognize all the factors that led to a person’s death, so i think that would be enough to turn mattie blaylock into a revenant. 

and who just so happens to go by mattie and no other name in the show? who lives well away from humans and is considered weird by the people and is known by the supernatural? who practices an art that is considered “old-fashioned”? who seems to know /something/ about the earps? whose body do we never actually see anyone acknowledge after that scene with doc? and i mean nobody? at all? at any point that i can remember?

mattie the blacksmith. that’s fucking who.

conclusion: mattie the blacksmith is mattie blaylock is wyatt earp’s second wife is a revenant and isn’t dead
