Hey all, Dani here.
I hope you are all having a wonderful day. Mine technically just got started a couple hours ago, the downside to being moved to a different shift at work. So anyway, welcome back to my weekly post series where I talk about everything Iā€™ve tried, done, read, watched in the past week, as well as what Iā€™m hoping to read in the upcoming week. I enjoy doing this series on the blog. Actually, though I havenā€™t done many posts in any of my blog series yet this year, I can say that Iā€™m truly enjoying all of my blogging so far this year, which is pretty great. Iā€™m hoping to keep improving myself and my blogging, and right now it feels like Iā€™m doing a good job with that goal.
Before I jump into the books, letā€™s talk about the other stuff that has been going on over the last week. I have still been trying to adjust to being on a second shift schedule again, and only seeing Damian for about 20 minutes in the morning and then on weekends. Itā€™s not exactly fun, but this job will give us a little bit more money to put towards our honeymoon, so weā€™re both trying to make the best of the situation.
And this past weekend was a lot of work as well, but it was the fun kind of work. We went to Ohayocon in Columbus, Ohio, to work with our friends at Colorworld Books. It was our first anime convention, but it was just as fun as going to a comic convention. We kept so busy that on both Saturday and Sunday I just didnā€™t feel like eating and technically forgot to eat until dinnertime. Pro-tip: donā€™t get into that habit; keep snacks and such around so you can make sure you eat something. I donā€™t usually skip meals like that. Anyway, we went to this pretty great ramen place after the con on Saturday and Damian and I plan to go back again. One of the best parts of the weekend for me was getting to see Rachel E Kelly again. Over the years she has become more than just an author Iā€™ve met a few times; she has become a friend, and I hadnā€™t seen her since 2016. Of course this time she also had her 3 month old son with her, and he was such a good baby considering he was surrounded by all new sights and smells and sounds and people.
All right, letā€™s talk about watches. Letā€™s see, I finished up my re-watch of season four of ā€œArrowā€ and started on season five, and Iā€™m also about two-thirds of the way through my re-watch of the first season of ā€œReign.ā€ Other than that I havenā€™t been doing much watching.
Okay, hereā€™s what I have finished reading over the past week: Donā€™t Read the CommentsĀ  by Eric Smith, Black Clover, Volume 19 by Yuki Tabata, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Volume 1 by Kunieda, Fujino Omori, and Suzuhito Yasuda, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Volume 2 by Kunieda, Fujino Omori, and Suzuhito Yasuda, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Volume 3 by Kunieda, Fujino Omori, and Suzuhito Yasuda, The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde,Ā Ashlords by Scott Reintgen, and Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo.
Wow, I had a pretty darn good week of reading. That is the one rather nice thing I can say about the job Iā€™m on at the moment: I do get quite a bit of reading time.
My current reads areĀ Reverie by Ryan La Sala andĀ Highfire by Eoin Colfer, but I hope to finish one or both in the next day or so, which means that Iā€™ll have plenty of time to pick up other reads. There are so many Iā€™m interested in at the moment.
Finally, thereā€™s what Iā€™m hoping to read in the next week. Now, if my reading keeps to the same pace it has so far this month, I predict reading more than just the books above. Plus, this isnā€™t taking into consideration the fact that Damian is running off Saturday night to play Pathfinder with the guys, while Iā€™ll be staying at home. I havenā€™t decided if that means that Iā€™ll be reading, blogging, bingeing a show, or a combination of the three. Iā€™ll have to see what my mood is like then. Still, itā€™s looking like it will be a pretty darn great January of reading, and a fantastic way to begin my reading goals for 2020.
What are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments because Iā€™d love to know if thereā€™s more books I need to be adding to my TBR. Iā€™ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Weekly Wrap-Up (47) Hey all, Dani here. I hope you are all having a wonderful day. Mine technically just got started a couple hours ago, the downside to being moved to a different shift at work.
