They cross-examined me for an hour, asking the most insane questions about a potential future project I didn't even apply with, for a two month travel grant worth less than 4000 € in total. Not to mention they hit me with ''now you have 7 minutes to present your project'' right in the beginning without mentioning any kind of presentation in any email beforehand.

#4000 € are like two to three conference trips like they want a whole lot for the amount of money they offer #I applied with a proposal for a case study that you know... can be actually done in 2 months these people are completely out of touch #i mean i think i've answered everything gracefully but there were 5 people and none of them fucking normal #i genuinely thought this would be a 20 minute formality #i got a grant worth more than that from the czech academy of sciences without any interviews and definitely no bullshit #mind you this isn's some prestigious grant. yes i got cnrs as my host institution but i had to make that deal on my own #i won't pull out now but i'm very very tempted #rant not over. i genuinely cannot put in words how aggressive and off-putting one of the committee members was #took my entire self-control to remain polite. and he even forgot about the whole thing and we had to wait for him. the audacity
