FBB 2017: Update (very late)
There are several reasons why I’m so late with an update, but the primary one is that I took on three teams this year. I had decided to take on two, but then I proxied a draft in my brother’s league and then ended up taking the team when the owner abandoned.  So, here’s the rundown of teams: Spears Carriers - SPARKY Spears of Destiny - FELLER LAST - BOB First the bad news: SPARKY After first place finish in SPARKY last season, my team totally tanked. It was looking like a First-to-Worst finish for awhile, but another team has dipped below me in the standings. This team just failed to perform right from the start. Donaldson got hurt, Encarncion took forever to get started. Carlos Beltran looked like the 40-year old he is. There are few bright spots, but I will cover those in my year in piece:
FELLER This was my team of destiny, ergo why it was named Spears of Destiny. It is now languishing in 9th place. My pitching was doing well, but my hitting never really got going. There was much promise with Miguel Cabrera, Mike Trout, and Chris Davis.  Miguel is having a very off year.  Trouit was out for a long time with a broken thumb, and Chris Davis fell to earth.
My pitching staff was strong with Yu Darvish, Carlos Carrasco, Danny Duffy, and Cole Hamels. I lost Darvish to the Dodgers, traded Carrasco (which I shouldn’t have done) and both Hamels and Duffy looked less than spectacular. I doubt if I play in this league next season
BOB  Well, surprise of surprises, this team has turned into a real contender. On paper, it was decent, but it has proven to be a typical Spears team - a bunch of blue collar performers with some stars thrown in. Jose Altuve has been spectacular. Miguel Cabrera has not been. Andrelton Simmons has surprised everyone and become a great low-cost investment. Steven Souza has been a solid performer as has Evan Longoria.
I traded for Justin Upton just as he got hot. If Miguel Cabrera can return to form and the trio of Mitch Haniger, Marcus Semien, and Wellington Castillo just perform to expectations, then I will hold my own offensively.
With exception of Kuechal, I have no real ace. Yes, Ervin Santana has pitched well, but the rest of the staff is really cobbled together. Three of them were waiver wire pick-ups.
I lost my only closer (Brandon Kintzler) to a trade to the Nationals, but I have managed to pick-up Branon Allen in a trade. It cost me Corey Dickerson, but I’m a half-point out of first and my year end strategy is to use Saves and Holds to make the final push into first. To help with that, I picked Juan Minaya of the White Sox and he clicked off 3 quick saves. If he sticks and Allen performs like he has all season, I like my chances.
I’ll do wrap-ups at the end of the season for all teams, but my emphasis will be on the race on BOB for this blog.

el megaconcepto que es Doña Sancha viendo por primera vez a Mudarra y tener la impresión de estar viendo a Gonzalo Menor por voz, gesto y apariencia me está haciendo temblar pero fuerte fuerte.

Ruy: Pero you're brave and capable, I want you to hold the banner.
Pero: Ok
Ruy: This is an important job, you need to wait for my signal please don't jump the gun.
Pero: Ok, got it. No problem.
Ruy: Cool, excellent. Now to battle.
*Literally 5 minutes later*
Pero, upon seeing the enemy: I'm going in.
Ruy: hoe don't do it. I am begging you please don't jump the gun, you promised.
Pero: Nah, I GOTTA. Peace was never an option.
Ruy: Oh my god. Alright lads, go on, go help him. Chop chop.

Verses 2857 to 2863 are Insane to me because of the action in them which is just that Minaya sees Elvira and Sol and they see him and the three of them start fucking crying BECAUSE LIKE
Alvar Fañez has been so ready so far to accept the will of the king for honor and diplomacy and loyalty that, fuck, what I see when I read the scene is a man that has just realized how fucking BLIND he's been for months, how he's been fooled by the facade of the Carrión brothers, by their splendor, by how much it pleased the king and how advantageous the marriage was that he never even Thought if it would be actually good for the girls.
THEN, in the next verse, Pero Bermúdez -WHO IS THE ONE WHO ACTUALLY WITNESSED TRUE NATURE OF THE CARRIÓNS- is the one who makes them span out of it!!!
HE BEEN KNEW!!!

It is OUTRAGEOUS, outrageous, you hear me!!!! It is absolutely Horrid that the last time Minaya appears in the Lay of the Cid he does Not address Rodrigo directly and Rodrigo doesn't address him!!!!
I was robbed of a goodbye!!!
Call him "my right hand" "my better arm" "my brother" and kiss his eyes and his mouth and the ground on which he walks and then you DARE not give me a goodbye line, Per Abbat I Will be having words with you.

PoV: You are María Ruíz (aka doña Sol), and your father and father in law have a cartoon style rivalry.
Neither you nor your husband were old enough at the time of the incident to know what happened. Versions of it differ drastically between the two households.

Uff.
Rodrigo my beloved.

But ALSO!!!
Pero all this time has been the one who Acts, not the one who Speaks.
So at the time of the trial, it has to be him the one bear testimony of the Carrións true character. He is compelled to speak, (by others and by the situation) where before he was silent.
Pero was powerless to do anything about the marriage. He is young and of little consequence, and even if he was, the marriage was done when he saw the red flags. But now NOW -in the trial, during the reunion with the girls- his words have weight!!!
Maybe it's just me!!! But I... go nuts... at the juxtapostion of this character with Alvar Fáñez, who spoke often, and Was asked for an opinion and now is (during the reunion, not the trial) just paralyzed by regret and shock and grief!!!
Do you understand??!!
