i think it’s just very cool that if you attack a monster head on while theyre mid lunge/attack has a chance of making *them* go flying instead is just a cool video game feature. very nice to feel like a cool guy now and then

things not to think about too hard lore-wise: how old is utsushi
#miltin plays monhun#i feel he's actually closer to 30? but it really depends#depends on what age the hunter is#what age would a hunter be able to become a hunter? i wanna say 16 or 18. maybe 16?#and also begs the question at what point is a master considered a master but like#tbf i dont think his title is like some official thing i think like the elder (like fugen) would arbitrarily assign it#realistically utsushi would be at least your hunter's age + however many years it took for him to become a mentor right#i mean possible he became a mentor before being officially called a master right#or maybe he was like. a weapons genius and became a master at a fairly young age#that's possible bc like. it's not like a guild appointed thing anyways#i'd imagine being able to become a hunter is a guild official thing or whatever#that youd actually need a set age for#it also makes one wonder what age most human hunters retire at#fugen and hamon are retired hunters but utsushi is said to still be a hunter#i wanna almost imagine that age being around 40s-50s?#humans in monhun are also im p sure more hardy and physically stronger than modern humans#so thats why i wanna say their hunter career would be a lot longer than like#if we applied modern day kind of logic to it#(also their world has different rules of nature anyways)#(not even taking into account the diets and physical activity that would keep them fit for a long time)#ordinarily i would think that like. theoretically a hunter could probably hunt all their entire life but#clearly we have a lot of examples of them retiring so its pretty common apparently?#thinking emoji#also monhun: the universe of everyones parent is an absent parent

i knooow realistically the mhw npcs probably have names (heck excitable a-lister has a name canonically) but it’s also funnier to me if like. half of monhun society names their kids actual names and the other half names them job titles or descriptions. like a good mix of the two
