Had fun dicking around in the toxic hellscape that is George Air Force Base as a civilian operative of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. After being told I looked "less Kyrgyz and more CIA in Tora Bora", I was able to bluff our way past NATO squads as "Special Activities Division, You Don't Need To Know".

Since the start of COVID, I have taken a number of trips:
Moved to East Coast (East)
Visited LA (West)
Went to a funeral (South)
Visited DC (North)
Went home for Xmas (West)
Went to a wedding (West)
Went to an Airsoft Milsim (North)
With this dataset, it is my conclusion that going North gives you Covid.

This how a bunch of civilian gun nuts spend the weekend. I doubt that they support the Democratic party. Something to remind us about the fire Trump has ignited and continues to fan.

May 31st--- Ueno and Akiba
You know how I said I always come back with loot on this trip because of all the cool items? Today was supposed to be the day I brought back the treasure chest, Akihabara- home of the losers, but I expected to not only buy my own nerd stuff, but rare nerd stuff at that. I was very disappointed. I understand now that the media I love in the States is media for Westerners. Timeless classics like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and even Dragon Ball merchandise were limited to a single shelf in most stores. They sell Cowboy Bebop action figures at the Walmart by my house! My favorite games hailing from Japan like Sonic The Hedgehog and Metal Gear Solid are household names in the West, yet swept under the rug here. Even something like Initial D, a wildly popular racing anime that takes place in Japan, had 1 unrelated store with barely any merchandise. I was appalled, to say the least. Instead, I was met with some of the most busted, lame, and questionably legal schoolgirl anime merchandise, and pricy at that. Nothing like narrow hallways and oversized nerds to make you want to go hit the countryside instead. Anyway, that's all beneath me. Ueno Park was pretty large. I'm very impressed with the abundance of high-quality parks and nature scattered across the city. It makes me wonder just how cool cherry blossom season really is, but at the same time, I don't want to deal with the crowd that follows. While browsing around on my way back to the hotel, I did find something that surprised me. The airsoft and milsim community here is quite strong, and as a former player, I was very happy to see these people live my middle school dream. If you aren't aware, airsoft describes a type of toy and the sport you use them. They are replica guns, usually very hard to tell between real ones, that fire small plastic orbs, or BBs. One of the most revered airsoft brands in America, Tokyo Marui, is known for 1:1 realism, high quality, and some of the best-simulated recoil devices in the market. In the states, these airsoft guns go for hundreds of dollars, some cost as much as their real firearm counterparts. While the Gucci of airsoft in America, Tokyo Marui is just a local manufacturer with good items. Common and cheap. Makes me want to pick up the sport again, but then again, I'm an American so I would rather go home and hit the range with my real guns instead.
At the Tokyo National Museum I saw something really cool. My picture came out blurry which I'm pretty bummed about, But I was an ornate set of samurai warrior armor, one in all black, and one in all red and gold. I saw these and it brought me around to a broader thought about what warfare and combat used to be. I thought about how cinematic it would be to see those two fight with techniques they have practiced for years and has been passed down for generations. Warfare used to be an art of honor, and combat, a dance of death for your family and lineage. Fast forward to America today, and we can take any 18 yr old on the street who legally can't own a weapon, give him a gun made in a factory and basic training, and he goes and kills for oil and politics. What did we lose along the way I wonder? Are we more united today as our conflicts are not family to family or regional wars? We don't fight our countrymen, we fight abroad, and with swift, surprising, and unrelenting force. I haven't made up my mind on what it all means, but one thing I do know is that there are no rules to war.
The biggest thing I got out of the readings was that otakus are losers and they exist in every culture. What I think is that if you spend all this time researching them, you are the king of the losers.

Guns reviews should be more like AVGN videos
If I want to watch dudes clown around and recite zoomer shitposts in larp kits in the middle of nowhere, I'd watch milsim west footage
In depth gun channels need to go back to being ran by boring ass middle aged Tom Clancy-esque accountants who get excited about serial numbers and manufacture dates of shitty Belgian optic mounts for irrelevant Chilean contract rifles that never got adopted. I am so tired some seeing fucking 33 year old dudes knee deep in faggy groyper memes taking up all the space that used to be educational and informative with videos titled "it's da OP gun from cawadoody BLOPs but irl!!???!!" that are somehow 20 minutes long and manage to offer no insight or history beyond some 2 minute garbage meme fest take that might as well be a retarded Mastodon lyric or ripped off /k/ post.

Shout out to Chad who’s in both of these campaigns!
In Milsim West: The Kazakh Revolution as part of the French QRF and In Milsim West: The Grozny Insurgency as a Toyota executive scouting for a location for a Toyota plant in Chechnya.
The level of larping in these campaigns is very impressive, you get very immersed just by watching the videos!

🇪🇸 Spanish MOE reconnaissance
Almost done packing for Milsim West’s Return to Stavropol this weekend! MSW events have ruined pick-up games of airsoft for me and I’ll never be able to enjoy this hobby ever again in a non-larpy/non immersive context. Nothing like 40 hours straight of nerds playing dress up shooting bbguns at each other under the command of current/former members of the military with multiple combat deployments.
HYPE.

Some pictures of my time at Milsim West’s Seize Grozy held at Camp Shelby MOUNT facility. First three are me in my gear, eating a Russian IRP, and me on the roof after an engagement. 4. My sqaud leader and I sleeping back to back to avoid sitting on rocks near the buildings. 5. 1st platoon being given some quick instructions on urban combat tactics by our great platoon sargents. 6. One of my sqaud mates resting. 7. Second sqaud leader passed out. 8. Sqaud leader giving a quick brief to some of bravo sqaud. 9. A great view of the city we were equally forced in to. 10. Another sqaudmate.

New Era, New Threats
Tumblr media
With the emerging battlefield, and especially with the lessons being learned by “Big Army” and the conflict in Ukraine, its becoming apparent at how night combat is changing in a big way. Armies with the same levels of technology are finally engaging in combat and are highlighting the shortcomings of GWOT era night operations. In the past, soldiers owned the night, using lasers for passive aiming to more precisely engage targets that would have no clue that a group of guys were watching them from the dark. Even just a few short years ago night vision in the civilian world was few and far between, being thought as kind of the final stepping stone in someone’s kit. Now going to a Milsim event like Milsim West, both teams are using generation 3 Nightvision. Hunters primarily are picking thermals and I2 systems for going after hogs and other predators in the night. In this environment what is someone to do to maintain the edge in the event you have to engage a similarly equipped opponent? In the next few segments I’ll be going into some of the observations and techniques I’ve come across in doing force on force airsoft with a near peer opponent, as well as using items in the field and looking at the technology used to give the next edge.  With help from VC Optics, we’ll be bringing more content to you!
Be on the lookout soon for our discussion about thermal fusion devices, as well as a general blog update! -Biskets

Hiking is shit?

Reposted from @lezztrooper - Milsim west The Azeri Front was tough as hell, but I knew my @headontactical bag would be up to the challenge. It was loaded to the max with gear, clothes, and food, but it held it all perfectly. Even with about 30lbs of gear in there, the pack remained extremely comfortable and didn't stretch, sag, or tear in any way. The molle also held well and didn't sag either. Overall, once again I am extremely happy with the pack. @headontactical always strives to make great, well built products and this one definitely fits the bill. I also want to add that he put this pack together for me within a week pretty much. He special ordered the OD cordura, assembled and shipped it out just in time for the event. A true hero. Thank you so much!!!! . Check out my blog: goo.gl/Rh6CCJ (case sensitive) .
