as much as i love the idea of my f/o standing up for me and dealing with my issues with others, i know they can’t do it forever (even though i’m sure they would in a heartbeat)

so imagine your tough f/o training you to be more confrontational with others and stand up for yourself! slowly getting it into your mind that you’re worth it and you deserve to be respected.

when someone does something that’s a bit iffy to you or downright disrespectful, maybe you’re f/o will whisper to you, “tell them how that makes you feel.” or if they are the really confrontational type, they’ll be more direct: “tell them to stop talking to you like that.”

but they understand if you get too nervous or way too stressed about it. they’ll always be there just in case to help you out if needed. they care about you after all ♡

babe has always been overlooked by the fandom it's lowkey annoying when someone is talking about the shaw pack listeners people will always put either sweetheart, darlin or angel first.

i get it that sweetheart and darlin is empowered so they're more likeable and angel is david's mate which is the alpha of the pack meanwhile i can see that not a lot of people like asher because of his voice (if you guys only hate him because of this yall sucks) and barely see that he's trying his best to be a good mate and beta.

erik barely give anything to babe which also make sense why people always ignored them and barely remember them. i wish erik can give more uniqueness(isthatevenaword) to babe and not just giving them the "unempowered overworked listener" treatment.

a little surprise starter for @faeriemists

14th  of  february.  love  day–  valentine’s  day.  a  day  in  which  milo  made  sure  to  clear  his  schedule  so  he  could  spend  time  with  the  love  of  his  life.  he  knew  how  it  was  celebrated  in  korea  and  he  was  sure  rin  would  hit  him  with  a  surprise  but  there  was  more  to  it.  as  someone  who  grew  up  outside  of  korea,  he  was  more  used  to  the  typical  way  they  celebrated  love  day  in  the  states.  men  give  to  women  not  vice  versa.  he  was  also  a  strong  believer  that  one  single  day  in  the  year  wouldn’t  be  enough  to  show  his  appreciation  and  love  but  he  couldn’t  not  play  along  to  the  flute  of  social  norms.  

“  there,  there  …  poor  kitten,  you  must  have  been  stressed  through  the  ride  but  soon  you’ll  meet  your  new  mother.  ”  he  spoke  to  the  new  pet  he  had  picked  for  rin  as  a  present.  last  time,  they  went  out  to  a  fancy  restaurant  but  this  time  around,  he  was  hoping  they  could  spend  their  time  at  home.  “  i  thought  of  putting  a  pretty  ribbon  on  your  neck  as  they  offered  in  the  store  but  …  wouldn’t  that  be  too  much?  you'll  look  super  cute  for  sure  but  i  don’t  want  to  stress  you  even  more.  you’re  a  darling.  ”  was  he  really  talking  to  the  cat  as  if  it  would  understand?  definitely.  who  knows,  maybe  it  can  actually  understand  him!

the  kitten  was  now  out  of  the  carrier  and  tucked  comfortably  into  the  inside  pocket  of  his  coat–-  sadly  he  only  had  two  hands.  navigating  through  the  halls  and  to  the  elevator  with  the  huge  bouquet  in  hand,  he  heard  neighbours  whom  he  had greeted  politely,  whisper  how  pretty  the  flowers  were.  of  course,  he  made  sure  to  get  the  prettiest  flowers  for  the  prettiest  woman.

after  closing  the  door  behind,  he  proudly  announced  his  arrival–-  had  told  a  little  white  lie  to  rin  that  he  was  asked  to  go  to  a  meeting  with  the  team  and  the  coach.  it  took  him  a  few  hours  until  he  could  complete  his  quests,  going  through  long  queues  and  jam  packed  streets.  peeking  from  one  side  of  the  bouquet,  milo  grinned  when  rin  showed  up  to  welcome  him  home.  “  happy  valentine’s  day,  baby.  ”  he  said  with  a  smile  and  proceeded  to  hand  her  the  roses.  101  roses  he  read,  meant  strong  love  and  devotion  and  that  were  exactly  his  feelings  for  her.

A mini review and my general opinion about Milo Murphy's law (because I'm sure everyone wants to know, most definitely). Spoilers ahead, read at your own risk

For obvious reasons I'll be comparing it to Phineas and Ferb

The show actually starts off great. The premise is interesting, and the characters likable, for the most part. Although there is one character who becomes not only a reoccurring character (not talking about that racoon) but a constant side character (that one underground guy. Ifeel like he appeared in almostall s02 episodes somehow, even though I know it's not true) and I think he's both really annoying, unlikable and very unnecessary when other characters that already exist in the cast would fill in his role better.

There are several moments in s01 where it feels forced how the only characters that really interact with one another are the 3 main kids. That was not really a problem in pnf because the cast of characters was bigger so it was easier for the characters interactions to feel organic. It's still not a huge problem here, they could have easily avoided it too with subtle explanations but they didn't (like how in Milo's birthday, where there are all the kids from class there but only him, Zack and Melissa end up running the car race at the same speed? Why? I think it could have been more organic if they didn't have everyone there idk).

The show never really focuses on Milo and how he feels about his condition. The albeism is never properly addressed (because it is implied that 'Murphy's law' is a disability). There are some moments sporadically scattered throughout both seasons, slightly focusing on how Milo feels about the whole thing, but they barely scratch the surface.

Unfortunately, by the second season, Milo becomes a side character in his own show. He's in episodes with a major role only a handful of times. The show gets out of it's way to get him out of commission (he's sick in one episode, he doesn't even appear in another, he's in a crab boat or something and we never see him till the end of the episode etc). This is really sad because I feel like he is the most likeable character of the mml cast. In my delight, he's more present in the last few episodes of s02.

Some characters I would have liked to see more of (except Milo because, it's his show, we should have seen him more in the first place) are Sara, Eliot and both of Milo's parents. Maybe Melissa, too. Also Bradley, who had great potential for an episode focused on him. He and Milo could have an episode together, it would have worked pretty great, both making him more likeable and helping him improve as a character (or at least his behaviour towards Milo).

Bradley and Elliot SHOULD have been more present in the show actually, to act like the Candace of the mml universe (although mml and pnf are in the same universe, you know what I mean). They were necessary to create some conflict with the main character but nah, we rarely see them.

You know who's character design I actually really like? Mort. I think he should have been a little more in there too. That reoccurring racoon was in the show more than he was.

Cavendish and Dakota were ok. In the first season, at least. Interesting enough, and their plot was mysterious enough to keep you invested. They rarely overstayed or took more screen time than necessary. In s02, they lowkey started doing whatever, it was a little boring.

Introducing Doofenshmirtz as a main character in s02 was a huge mistake. He basically hijacked the show. I feel like we had more episodes where the plot revolves around him than Milo (or any of the other characters for that matter) had.

He was a great character in pnf, and that's partly because they knew to partner him up with Perry, a character who doesn't speak. Doofenshmirtz talks a lot. His original plot demanded him to do so because Perry is an animal and therefore can't speak. But there is no Perry in the main plot of mml, only other human characters (there is Diogee but they're never really doing things together on screen. It's implied they spend a lot of time together but that's it). So now we have Doofenshmirtz, talking as much as always + other characters talking a regular amount = too much dialogue. It's a shame, he had a whole character arc too, instead of, you know, Milo. Yeah.

The aliens now. I feel like the whole plot with the aliens was treated both as a 'these are reoccurring characters' and 'one-off characters, nothing to see here' and I don't know why. They do end up playing a major role in the finale too.

Just like Phineas and Ferb, this show is, for the most part, episodic. The characters remain static. And there is nothing really important going on in s02. The alien abduction plot is barely teased throughout s02, only to be resolved in the last 2 episodes (which should have been one big episode tbh, feels like they split it in 2 parts only so that the second season would have 20 episodes, like the first season).

All of the 'special' episodes are pretty great actually. Entertaining.

The music is mostly forgettable, with very few exceptions. The jokes are funny but they get progressively less so as the series goes on. The characters look slightly too similar with one another, exceptions being Cavendish and Diogee (peak character design). I wish the characters had more unique color pallets too.

Overall, even though I really wanted to love the show, I can only like it for it's first season and mourn what we could have gotten in season 2 instead (except the last few episodes, these were good too). It feels like they were losing steam and interest in the project. They also really wanted to make a show where Doofenshmirtz was a main character (they lowkey tried with that one pnf special with all the o.w.c.a. agents) but it didn't work out, so they just, threw this show under the bus instead, instead of giving Milo a chance to be a proper character in his show.

The show suffered from a lack of identity, it never really found a proper audience.
