Introduction!
Hello!
My name is Catherine, and I am the founder of this magazine - Millennials in Motion! Our mission is to combine content, conversation, and community to develop unity!
I created this publication because I am a multi-passionate person and I wanted to create content about things that I care about, help build my community, and invite others to #GetinMotion with me in doing that! I am also a Millennial who was tired of being called lazy or entitled, so I wanted to incorporate breaking that stigma into it as well by showing us in action, creating, and caring about our communities and the world around us.
My biggest goal I’m working on at the moment is developing a community platform where people will be able to really get active in their communities and help make the world a better place. While that’s in the works, I’ve been focusing on content production and growing the magazine’s brand and community!
I started developing the magazine/website in summer of 2018, and launched officially in September of 2019. Things were really taking off at the beginning of 2020, and then - you guessed it - the pandemic happened. I spent a lot of last year dealing with my mental health and refocusing how I wanted to approach managing my magazine and my content, as I was working on my journalism degree. So I started dabbling in that area of writing. As a result, I started covering local small businesses, organizations, and artists in my own community, along with my other personal/general content. In doing so, I was creating content while helping my community!
As the new year began, I put on my to-do list to expand my reach, so I decided that adding a Tumblr to the list of our platforms would be a good idea. So here I am! *waves*
Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick introduction about my magazine! I will be posting our content here, both new pieces that are published, as well as retroactively sharing past content as well! I also make stickers to sell to fund our operations, so keep an eye out for those too!
Most of the content is made by me, but I have a couple people that occasionally create with me! I let them write about whatever they want to, and give them control over their own content production. I don’t assign topics or deadlines. They create as they feel inspired.
From our contributor content to my own local pieces and the general topics I write about, I try to have the magazine cover a wide range of topics, with a particular focus on the environment, mental health, art/self-expression and community.
I hope you enjoy our content and I look forward to getting in motion with you! ^-^
Sincerely,
- Catherine

Six months ago, on Earth Day, April 22nd, climate activist Wynn Alan Bruce self-immolated himself in front of the Supreme Court building. His death inspired me to create a design in honor of his sacrifice.
Read more about the story behind this design, Wynn Alan Bruce, and how I am using this design to honor him.
