its downright hilarious just how much Protagonism krile has now. She has special powers that the government wanted to perform Evil Experiments on her for. She was sent into an alternate dimension in a science fantasy Moses In The Bulrushes. She was adopted by a famous Sharlayan researcher. She is a 3 foot tall 20-something college graduate with a cat eared hoodie and she is going to kill you with a cartoon mallet.

Transcription of Tural Travelogue

(Dawntrail All Quests Spoilers ahead)

4A/2S [4th Astral Moon / 2nd Sun] - Finally back in Tural. Found a notebook in the markets. Ameliance would likely have provided one had I returned to Sharlayan, but I wanted to get some notes down soon. To commit to memory less volatile than mine:

The tour guide in canal town, who loved sharing history with visitors and ended each tour at the wishing fountain. I wished to be friends with Sphene in the end. Perhaps the boys will keep her company until we can meet again.

A librarian. She assured me the books were no mere projection. The history of Alexandria is, at least in part, preserved there.

A boy who had misplaced his brother. In searching, we realized the boy was Turali, and his brother was outside the dome, likely alive and well. Look for a blond train engineer missing a brother in Yyasulani.

A girl who had put together a scavenger hunt showing her favorite locations in the golden city. The hunt led to the passphrase "Would you be my canary." [sic "I Want to Be Your Canary"]

Otis, as his memories preserved. He's with his Queen now.

Krile's parents, Millala descendents of the South Sea Isles who crossed the rift after C4[sic, 5th Calamity]. Continue investigating the isles! Left Krile's birth name: Maya. Researchers of Preservation, studied Key.

Keeper of animals, Millala. Regretted not fighting harder to keep scorpions out of the Volcane preserve.

Engineer who designed state of Sphene above the Meso Terminal.

Cahcuia. Erenville's mother. I'm honored to have met her.

Sphene. She loved her people to the end. I hope she rests well with her people in the sea.

I'm left with the Key to interdimensional fusion. Of all the things for Theia to have left. She couldn't have known my current work, but perhaps she guessed at it.

Don't tell Lolorito yet. Not sure how Key works or if fusion required. Localized around gate? Security.

Dawntrail - that big reveal

Final bit of thinking about DT, at least for now.

Also I might rant a bit.

This covers a massive reveal before the lvl 100 trial, and stuff related to it. So obviously, spoilers! Big ones!

As I've mentioned before, and expanded on, the idea of our WoL being Azem has been a frustrating thing for me.

I like the idea. I know some folks don't, but fortunately for them, SQEX gave them Venat to use instead. Unfortunately for me, it was starting to feel like they forgot about WoL-Azem. And, well, gave us Venat instead.

Now that's a rant for another time. But short version is, by this point, I'd stopped expecting anything more about WoL-Azem. The Ancients storyline seemed pretty closed, and it looked like Azem and the crystal were mostly just a justification for 7 people to help us in trials.

But, at some point during Dawntrail I started wondering if that key thing had been created by the Ancients. And for certain, when we went into the Millala history tour, I started thinking, "there's a lot of obvious sun imagery in here." And "those faces on the walls look a fair bit like Ascian masks."

So I was pretty happy to see Azem's sigil appear on the dimensional key before the Interphos trial. Cause I have to assume this means they intend to answer some questions left hanging since 5.3.

But also, I think it means we're probably going to be traveling to more of the reflections. Probably not till 8.0 and beyond, but still. I'm super interested to see where this goes now.

What follows is gonna be a bit of a brain dump. Just a lot of the stuff that's now rattling around in my head.

What we know

The key has some connection to Azem, specifically the Azem that was the MSQ player character's former life as an Ancient. It's even possible, and probably likely, that Azem created it.

The key looks like a chalice, or maybe a lamp? I'm thinking the latter might be the intended idea, since that could fit with the idea of Azem.

The key has some kind of power to cross dimensions. This seems to be its genuine power. Dimensional fusion being something the Alexandrians were able to do via it without fully understanding how the key worked or how to use it.

It responds to shards of Azem, and likely can only be fully utilized by them. The Millala history said the key responded to the prayers of the Speaker, and never gave that kind of response ever again. But then it responded to us while we were using the Azem crystal. Most likely the Speaker was a shard of Azem as well.

Questions

Anyone else think the center of the key looks like white auracite? It was the first thing I thought when the key first appeared.

Why was this thing made? Assuming it was made as some solution for the Final Days... well, I dunno. Was it a way for people to escape the Final Days? Or to find the source of it? Did Venat tell Azem she was going to split the star and this was a way to keep them connected?

How did it end up with the Millala?

Did Emet-Selch know about it?
