Week 6 WEN IGNITE EXPERIENCE
Tumblr media
In this week we were introduced to WEN IGNITE and created an account to enroll in a cohort with our instructor and created a venture with my teammates. After that we created our first WEN Milestone1 that includes the presentation of the problem, solution, results customer persona and etc. In this presentation it has contents about the problem and also the ideas about our solution to the certain issue or problem that we are addressing.

Feb 23. Critical session. aka Supervision
At this point our work process felt chaotic, and amount of ideas where overwhelming. In a way we were scared and lost, but we still were obliged to come and present our “Thing”, which was not a thing yet. Presenting it to teachers helped us to organise thoughts, and come up with kind a structure; as well as to find out how hight are demands and stacks at this point.
Tumblr media
After supervision we went to test sensory feedbacks. We considered sound, haptics, temperature and visual. We started from questioning again what we want to communicate through the feedback in relation to our HMW (materials, construction method, how abstract it should be.)
A key realisation was to focus on the sensory feedback before the actual purchase occurs. If you consider buying a product, it is at the initial consideration phase that feedback on the price would be the most impactful. NB! Insight we got from a tester to make users more aware of their purchases it might not be very effective to give feedback of what you have bought after the transaction is made, because then you cant really change anything or reflect on the purhase and it might be a while before your next purchase.
SInce range of signals we can give is not very wide we also have other questions what the feedback should relate to? Was it feedback on the price compared to similar products? Compared to your balance? In relation to all products in that store? After some hours of discussion we decided to focus on giving feedback on the price of an object based on how much you have spent throughout the day. We chose this option because we felt that comparing a product to another with sensory feedback could be a bit redundant as you could just look at the price tags. We also wanted to steer clear of just comparing it to your balance because.
ADVICE:
keep revisiting HMW;
keep working with material part of the prototype;

milestone #1
Hey! I'm Elif and we are planning to do a senior project about psychological problems, especially about what we feel, so it will be (kinda) like a personal project.
For my first milestone I gathered all the feelings that I have been feeling during my mental breakdowns, my times spent alone thinking, when I am in a place that I don’t feel safe, which I can say “out of my comfort zone”. But I also considered the opposite situations: my normal days, when I am with my friends or the ones that I love, when I am doing something that I enjoy or being in a place that I love, the times when I am not alone or when I don’t have much time thinking about myself. So I came up with some explanations of how I feel. Here are couple of them;
Over thinking
Feeling loveless
Everything being meaningless
Feeling tired (both physically and mentally)
Not be able to talk or explain
Wanting to cry but cannot be able to cry
Loss of time and space
Not being able to understand what is going on
Being somewhere physically but not mentally
Being fragile and sensitive
...and so on.
So, for my Milestone #1, I tried to understand what these situations mean to me. By this way, the process of deciding is way easier. So “Finalizing researches.” part is the part that I am being certain about them and now I can see what I want to do more clear.
Then it comes to the part of deciding about the form of the project. I have seen that I want to do lots of things at the same time but I don’t know how to combine them in a more decent way, and after the last feedback that we got, I started to feel certain about the form. I am going to do everything I want, they don’t have to be combined to each other (not like a single piece), but it will be more like an installation exhibition. It will still be like a journey for the ones who will come to our exhibition, but at this time I am planning to use all the elements, objects in different parts of the space. So the visitors will walk towards the pieces as if they were done by different artist, like an exhibition but all the objects/elements/pieces will lead to one single thing: how I feel. Personally, I have started to think that it will be better for me to use all the things because at the end, they will represent me, they will represent who I am.
After the second meeting, I will start doing the model of the project. I have started the market investigation (where to buy the things I want to what price) so that I will know my limits. I have also started thinking about a suitable place for the exhibition because it is important for me to create an atmosphere with the space besides the objects that I am going to use. Now I have started doing sketches for it to be more clear in my mind. :)

Octopus Network Delivers First Milestone of Astar Cosmos IBC Bridge
Octopus Network completes first milestone in developing bridge from Astar to Cosmos
The Astar/Shiden Network will become the first parachain with IBC interoperability to both transfer and receive cross-chain assets to and from any Cosmos chain.
TOKYO, KANTO, JAPAN, January 24, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — In October 2021, Astar Network accepted a grant proposal from the Octopus Network core team to create a bridge connecting the Astar/Shiden Network to all Cosmos based blockchains.
The Astar Network is a multichain smart contract hub on Polkadot that connects multiple Layer1 blockchains. Shiden Network is Astar’s Kusama-based canary project. Cosmos is a decentralized network of independent parallel blockchains (Zones), each powered by BFT consensus algorithms like Tendermint consensus.
The Astar/Shiden Network will become the first parachain with IBC interoperability according to IBC’s IC S20 standard to maintain a 1:1 cross-chain peg of assets in the Kusama and Polkadot ecosystems with the ability to both transfer and receive cross-chain assets to and from any Cosmos chain, which will provide significant benefits beyond those offered by public cross-chain bridges.
Both the Astar and Octopus Networks’ core teams are currently working together to connect Polkadot and Cosmos with plans to deliver a production ready Polkadot and Cosmos bridge in Q1.
The project is phased to pass three milestones. Milestone1 is the successful development and deployment of a bridge for cross-chain messages on Shiden. Milestone2 is the implementation of crosschain asset transfers on Shiden. At Milestone3, these functionalities will then be adapted for the bridge on the Astar parachain.
Once teams deliver a production ready Cosmos and Polkadot bridge, all Cosmos chains, such as Terra, Injective Protocol, Osmosis, Crypto.org Chain (Crypto.com), Oasis Network, etc., will be compatible with Astar and hence Polkadot.
Octopus Network Successfully Completes Milestone1 of the Astar — Cosmos Bridge
The Astar and Octopus Network teams are excited to announce the successful completion of Milestone1 — Crosschain messaging between Cosmos chains and Shiden Network has been successfully implemented. The next steps are to realize a crosschain asset transfer feature on Shiden before adapting both the crosschain messaging and asset transfer features to Astar.

About Astar Network
The Astar Network is a scalable and interoperable multichain smart contract hub built with Parity’s Substrate framework. The Polkadot Relaychain, by design, does not support smart contracts. Astar Network has taken up the challenge to fill this need. Ideally, dApp developers will be able to build applications on the Astar Network parachain without having to worry about scalability.
About Octopus Network
The Octopus Network is a multichain cryptonetwork for launching and running Web3.0 application-specific blockchains — appchains. Appchains in the Octopus Network benefit from flexible and cost-effective leased security (LPoS), out-of-the-box multichain interoperability, complete infrastructure, and a ready-to-be-engaged community. The Octopus Development Team has successfully built IBC for Substrate and has cooperated with many public chain projects in R&D building crosschain bridges in particular.

I woke up today, pumped about starting my first NA for 2017. #milestone1 | reader alert: Pretty Long Post. #warning #dontreadon🐧 or just read on... No Apologies shaped a part of my teenagehood to ✋ think! Being a teen these days is a Big Challenge. It never was easy, and its not getting easier. As I prepared for today I found that the degradation of culture and popular trends carry a certain message. Unless we use our minds wisely, we're going to get pushed around. Who's pushing your cart? Social media or you? Besides that, what boundaries do we draw for ourselves on all levels? Do we seek instant gratification? Or are we able to reserve and save ourselves? One beautiful thought "you could only get one honeymoon and all you get to bring to it is never having been there before" Joe White. It's okay if we struggle every now and then because of our decision to abstain from "doing it". The world tries to make us feel bad for being abstinent. That's why i realize from today actually as consumers, We(capital W) have the power to flip the channels, swipe away, and walk away. "We have the power to demand higher quality" messages from our social media. And even if the world keeps bombarding at us, teens and older peeps lets develop a discerning eye to the distorted messages of love, relationships, manhood/womanhood and sex. #Discerning between healthy and unhealthy media messages will help us feel better about the decision to be sexually abstinent. "What we see, hear and feel affects our decision to remain abstinent" Ryyl. So, Keep the discipline. I feel so grateful I'm now part of this and I can't wait to do more as a faci. On a side note, today was memorable with couple more milestones. 🏆 Breakfast🍵 with my Pa in a looooong time since i started working. #milestone2 | WORKED till Night. Being an adult sometimes sacrifices need to be made. Not complaining as I know tomorrow is yet another exciting day. #milestone3 | What a March of highlights. 🎬 The end. |
