On Monday, I had the opportunity to volunteer for the @bostonmarathon and it was the 10 year anniversary from the first time I ever volunteered at this event. 💦 In 2009 while working at the Wellness Center for @salemstate my boss asked us to join him at the Mile 6 hydration station in Framingham, MA. I didn’t hesitate to say yes and was pretty pumped to be going. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏿‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️ Seeing 50,000 people running to raise money and awareness for various causes or people with disabilities and first time marathoners pushing themselves to accomplish something so challenging is inspiring. Regardless of weather, doubts, fears, etc. these people are pushing themselves beyond what most of can imagine they’re capable of. It’s amazing and brings tears to my eyes every time I have the opportunity to be involved. 👟🧥 Saying yes to this opportunity not only had me take part in a massive event but paved the way for me to volunteer at numerous road races across New England for the past 10 years and running in two 5k events myself. One of my favorite things about our MET events was getting grown ups to try new things. This band was enjoying our Funk Band Jam from the outskirts, and they didn't want the pBones I offered at first.
