"Anything yet?" Megumi blinks to hear this but he looks from his cell phone. He didn't know what was going on, giving the thought that something might have happened. Gojo was told Kisho still was on his on going mission to find the cursed items that came from that party. However, it leaves another wondering what was going on. He did have some help along the way so it was something.

Right now, Megumi was told by Gojo to check on him but he was not answering the text messages he sent a while ago. "I don't think so. I can try to call him and see if he can answer the phone instead. Or maybe something is effecting the signal."

"I guess that's possible but give it a shot." Yuji said. Megumi nods and goes to do that, seeing Kisho's number and hits speed dial and waits for him to find something.

"I'm sure they are fine you two..just call them and we will see their fine." Nobara said. Miko agrees hoping they were alright. She wanted to go with them but she was still on stand by to recover.

"S..same here..." she mutters seeing Megumi still waiting for Kisho to pick up.

I've been binge-watching Mieruko-chan today, and I really like the subversion with Zen. He's shown to have a really unsettling demeanor, and Miko is TERRIFIED of him due to that and the cat ghosts surrounding him + the aggressive ghost of his mother, except she turns out to be pretty off-base.

He only has the cat ghosts around him because he's been trying to catch a cat killer, and they feel bad for him since he always shows up when its too late to save them, and he feels guilty for it. He also has absolutely zero context for any of her behavior, so he's probably been wondering why she's been acting totally scared shitless towards him.

But then it turns out he likely ended up killing the actual (human) culprit instead, since he's been reported missing. (I mean, nothing of value was lost, since he was an animal abuser, but Zen did think Miko could have been the culprit because of how weird she acts around him, so that raises some questions considering the implied murder.)

Saw someone say that the first thing Miko needs is a hug and YEAH, THE FIRST THING MIKO NEEDS IS A HUG.

She’s been living her life scared out of her mind and walking on eggshells because one small slip up and a spirit attacks and she doesn’t know how it started and she doesn’t have any solutions beyond a temporary stop gap.

Also the adults with spiritual powers in her life are too busy to actually give her any proper guidance on how to handle the spirits beyond “don’t acknowledge them”.

Also her friends, with the exception of Yuria(Julia?) don’t know this whole other facet of Miko’s life, and even Yuria has a very limited ability to see the spirits anyway.

Also she’s dealing with what seems to be a death spirit, like, an EXPRESSLY death spirit, and the most advice she’s been given is “do your best not to look at it” which is so crazy when one of the things that’s established early into the series is that mischievous [and especially] malevolent spirits WILL use tricks to try to get you to look at them (eg the child with the balloon)

Also in my head the working theory that with the current spirit (‘unassuming middle-aged man’) it’s 4 strikes and you’re out (ie it starts ACTIVELY pursuing your soul) and Miko is already on strike 2 (4 cause of its association with death, the theory amongst readers that this spirit is a shinigami has been rampaging about my head)

Also the bigger spirit that escaped its binding after Romm, Miko, and Godmother finally put the shrine maiden to rest.

Also this damned ‘always on the side of humanity’ old man and the fact that the lengths he goes to are actually actively cruel and the fact that one of his tails knows about Miko’s dad.

What I’m saying is please read Mieruko-Chan.

"Uhhhh, the cooking lessons went as usual with Jaron and Melinda helping him." Miko mutters yet she was poking her fingers. "Though, it was taking a bit for him to understand but he was determined to make this work.

"Okay Kisho lets try again. Just a bit but not too much.." Melinda watches Kisho adding some cursed energy to a piece of chicken that remains on the table. The others were watching wondering if he was alright. However, as he did, Kisho was focused before he stops.

"Okay, I think I got it." he said seeing the chicken still looking the same but as Melinda checks it she sighed.

"Then go ahead and cook. Lets see." she said seeing him now starting that. Jaron was watching on stand by but helping in case too.

"Do you think he got it this time?" Sai asked.

"...Depends from the last three he cooked." Vivi said seeing some cursed energy coming from the trashcan. That and Rust and Breezy twitching knocked out from trying his cooking. Well, it was close.

In a moment, the chicken was done but it was on the plate facing the others. "Alright, who wants to try it?" Kisho asked but no one raised their hands.

"...Uhhh guys?"

".......I'll try it." Jaron said cutting a piece of chicken and picks it up to eat it. He chews with eyes closed but Melinda was looking silent as she goes to try some and chew as well. Kisho looks to see the cooks chewing before they swallow.

"W..well?" Kisho asked nervous.

"....Well....You didn't over do it with the seasoning which is good. I see you didn't burn it like the other one.....though for the cursed amount-"

~~~~~~Moments later~~~~~~~

Kisho sweatdrops seeing Jaron and Melinda throwing up in thrash cans while the others sweatdrop. "Okayyyyy maybe a bit too much cursed energy.." Kisho said laughing nervous while wincing from the two still throwing up. However, Jaron coughs to look up.

"Maybe we should help show you the amount or maybe some chart of it." he said looking pale but he covers his mouth but lowers down throwing up again.

"Well...at least you tried...don't give up Kisho." Miko said worried rubbing his back as the fractions tried helping Melinda and Jaron.

"Somehow, Kisho's cursed energy is really really heavy but..I know with more work it will be perfect for him!" Miko said having confidence in her boyfriend.
