my dream is to one day host a 3 hour lecture where i just talk about elmike and how their relationship is the most complex and unique (in the sense that they’re incredibly subversive of tropes and avoid tons of cliches, not that they’re the most special pair or whatever) in the show

#i am so passionate about elmike dude i really need to talk about them more #you have to view them from literally every angle in order to understand #none of the relationships on this show are black and white but elmike has shrimp colors #i hope nobody takes this as ‘elmike is the best’ because No #mike and will are the epitome of cliche yet it works incredibly well for them and creates a love so strong you feel it through the screen #them not having the complexities of el and mike doesn’t make them written any worse #byler is easily one of the most well written pairs #but elmike is incredibly nuanced and every single angle needs to be taken into account otherwise they can be easily demonized #i could talk about it for days dude #there’s so many different facets that make up why they are the way they are #and people are so quick to ignore one incredibly important facet and it leads to one or the other coming off as the bad guy #when neither of them are nor have they ever been
