"Is that my shirt?"
🥬 caught wearing the shirt
Thought alone hardly phased Chiaki in the slightest as hands clutched about the shirt Midori left sitting out. While he's worn something of the taller's in the past, there's a difference between acting in such a manner for someone's benefit and acting in a manner for personal benefit. The Ryusei Red certainly was getting more and more comfy with the idea of acting personally for himself constantly than attempting to pass his actions off as for the benefit of others.
Well, he's still not about to stop acting to the benefit of others as a helping hand any time soon, though. A dream so dear in reality.
Though, when around Midori, he began showing colors he hadn't shown to anyone else except for Kanata. That selfish agenda so desperately he tried to keep down for traditions... Thus, upon taking hold of Midori's shirt, again it came from a desire within himself. Midori's clothes prove to be so much bigger than his own, far more baggy than he's used to.
A reminder of the hoodie he wore a while ago for Ryusei Green. Their favorite hoodie. Even this shirt he held reeked so heavily of their adoration for mascots and cute characters. Their charm, for sure. He's already removed his own shirt to promptly slide it over his torso. Chiaki glances at himself in the mirror, hands upon hips and puffing up his chest.
Not too bad, if he thinks so to himself. Perhaps a shirt just a size larger than his typical size wouldn't be too significantly horrible to own for himself. A decent amount of breathing room... He could always steal this shirt from Midori and claim it as his own, at least for a short period of time. He wouldn't mind any question that arise from it -- simply explaining he wished to feel closer to the younger's love for these mascots!
The rabbit's not typical for him, but it's not too bad. Would Midori notice if he-- Thoughts are cut short when he hears soft, low vocals questioning him. Chiaki turns to peer over his shoulder at the head of messy light brown locks. Those soft emerald orbs staring him down with that all too familiar stare of annoyance. A wide smile cracks upon the older's features.
"Oh, Takamine! What do you think? Sure, this is your shirt, but I wondered how it'd look on me! It's far looser than what I normally wear, but it's not all that bad! I don't have character shirts like this, most of my tees have my favorite heroes on them... but it's still a comfortable tee! Don't you believe I could pull off wearing something bigger than my normal size? I see some of the other idols wearing a size larger clothing, so it wouldn't stand out too much."

Hello. In the Homestuck YTTD art collection you have posted you added "(EW)" after Gashu's name. Could you please explain why you dislike him? I like Gashu a lot, and I genuinely don't get why people dislike him, as I find him really cool and a very interesting character.
Hello !
Thanks for the ask. I will try to explain why I put EW after gashu name and also the gashu hate in a few point. First off, I think you are completely right gashu is a very interesting character that deserve more analysis made of him. I think he's oddly realistic and very well written for a character that we do not see that much of. So yeah I like gashu character..... And that's the problem, I like the character but hate the person. But I think the fandom misterpret the character a lot so I will go on a gashu analysis on why first he's great character but an imunforgivable man.
Also for any gashu liker who wants to understand the perspective of the fandom her it is.
FIRST READONS FOR THE GASHU HATE:
His actions are unforgivable and caused major trauma and pain to multiple people
Gashu is a terrible dad, no need to fight over this. But even before milfdori went to tell him to sacrifice his son he still sucked ass. He created to both Kai and sei major inferiority complex and fear of being forgetten. Kai was always fearful that his dad would be disappointed of him and Sei oh god sei suffered my guy, after his dad died he was brought into a family just to be a rival to Kai , to make Kai better and then disposed like trash . He acted big and wanted to win so that he be loved but in the end he knew that he was just a pawn to asunaro. Even though gashu took a liking to Sei and strated being "nicer" to Kai that does not escuse the rest. I mean Kai was raised as a weapon his entire life, he never got to have a normal life. Also like the fact that he was so happy for cake means clearly that he doesn't get any compassion or love from his dad. Gashu is emotionally distant to Kai from his very young childhood. That put irreparable damage on Kai Psyche. Someone might have the argument that he tried to do "the best" for his children, but no, he tried to do "the best" for him. If he truly loved Kai and Sei more than asunaro he would have tried anything to save his son's, but he didn't, he accepted it and continued on. Even if it failed a true loving father would've done anything to save his kids, even if it mean fighting against asunaro his whole life. Also that's not talking about the death game like what he did to ranger is even more cruel because of Sei and also he fucking caused nao death so like I'm pretty sure that's the reason the fandom hate his guts hard ☠️But I have a theory that I'm almost certain of, on why gashu is hated too
SECOND REASON FOR THE GASHU HATE
he's realistic which hits closer to home.
Gashu is realistic and that's the thing, forgetting about the dolls and asunaro, who hasn't met a emotionally negligent father who puts immense pressure on his children which cause extreme difficulty for the child to create fulfilling relationship with anyone in the future. Like if you twist it around this story works for alot of us. A emotionally closed off dad who prefer to be cold and not show his emotions, who focus more on work than you, who work seems to prioritise you. And that's the point that's why I think gashu gets such hate, the relatability !Because let's compare him to like sue and Midori. They have way more fans why, because first sue Miley is hot af and Midori is..... I don't know how people find him attractive but people do. But also because sue and Midori are over the top, especially sue Miley. She's just an evil crazy lady who mean, and Midori is literal incarnation of the devil so like what do you want. But even a character like Midori is like in way relatable sadly to lot of people experience with narcissist like him, one day if I have the time i'll go over Midori and shin relationship metaphor in real life. But back to gashu, sue and Midori have less chance to be relatable to the general audience than gashu, in the world their must be like 10 Midori ( yeah I'm sure people like him exist) but a million gashu . The point of the mini episode for me was to nuance gashu character, because even with all the bad action he did we see that he's destroyed after Sei death. It... Feal real. He an horrible man but still a man after all. While Midori is Satan you know. Also there is a also a clear difference. Gashu does the things he does due to his loyalty to asunaro, and by the way it's presented it's very much some kind of cult enterprise. The only time he betrayed the rules was for sending the sacrifice to nao to make sure she doesn't survive, which in his head he did for the organisation. He killed himself for the organisation. He sacrificed his son for the organisation. Everything he did because of his immense loyalty to the organisation even when he didn't want to do it. His loyalty came first and his feelings second. While let's say Midori really isn't that loyal and just wishes to have what he wants whatever the cost. So gashu feels more Real more human for his actions. He really seems like a man who could die at any point in time and was truly trapped. But after all it's his fault right? He was the one that became apart of the organisation after all. His suffering was in the end caused by his loyalty. But like why did he join the organisation, or better why did any of them join I have so many questions about asunaro it's insane.
THIRD REASON FOR THE GASHU HATE
It also became kinda of a meme in-between me and my friend
"Like oh it's GASHU fuck that guy" you know. I should have maybe started with that.
Anyway closing point fuck milfdori she's such a dick.
#yttd#your turn to die#kai satou#sei satou#rio ranger#gashu satou#yttd analysis#yttd theory#sou hyori#sue Miley#Also like I'm still pissed off by nao death#I will forever be mad#Closing point it's not objective it's personal and also GASHU hater hate the person most of the time#I hate GASHU as a person just like I fucking hate that disgusting cabbage moronic ass hole Midori#Even though I like Midori as a character I honestly think he's one of the most well written character

hes so pathetic with that collar. i know he could blow up at any given time i live happy knowing this. going the emotional route is the true route fuck you save the buckethead zombie from pvz. hes so pathetic i want to go to sleep hearing his stupid fucking ass cry and cry wah wah wah
i want to drag him across the floor screaming then force him into the therapist table where i force him to math with me. everytime he gets something wrong (theyre all rigged but just logical enough you think you could get it right), it will have a loud buzzer of midori laughing at him. this will continue until the page is over. it is 64 pages. then, afterwards, he will finally be fed, with a warm bowl of soup. i will then shake the table, causing him to have the bowl fall to the floor. he will cry. i will record him, then showcase it to himself, over and over again. the next day will be full of my little pony. we will watch every episode of my little pony. this will go on until all the seasons are finished. he will then be quizzed on every detail. if he gets one wrong, we need to watch countryhumans mmd yaoi for an hour straight. the hours pile on the more he gets wrong. if he cries or screams during any of this, he will be recorded. if he falls asleep, he will be recorded. if he tries to contact anybody, i will take up all his contacts as those he hated on in 4chan. he will not escape. i will see him suffer in every inhumane way possible. It’s WIP Wednesday and I wanted to post smth for VCPiS but I’m going to be posting the next chapter within the week so like what would even be the point of a preview of that, so instead here’s the first draft I wrote for when Izuku and Hitoshi meet face to face for the first time, which has since become a deleted scene.
This was originally set way further in the story, back when I thought I was going to be sticking closer to the canon Hannibal timeline (bc Izuku is Margot in this lol), but I’ve thrown much of that out the window, so their first meeting will happen much sooner and go quite differently than this. Originally I’d decided that the two of them would call each other their screen names until they got to know each other better and each of them would suggest a nickname that, unbeknownst to the other, was their hair color. I couldn’t remember what the Japanese word for “purple” was, and y’all when I tell you I fucking gaped when I looked it up and saw it was “murasaki”. I felt like it was fate or smth.
For those who may not know what I’m talking about: in the books Hannibal is raised by his aunt and uncle after his family dies, and his aunt’s name is Lady Murasaki (iirc no first name for her is ever given. It’s likely she’s named after one of the main characters of The Tale of Genji, Murasaki no Ue, sometimes translated as Lady Murasaki, or possibly the woman who wrote it, known as Murasaki Shikibu, though given the orientalism in the Hannibal books, it was probably the former). Considering other synonyms for purple (violet, indigo, etc) are all fairly popular first names for girls in Japan I felt even without the meta implications (Hannibal was in love with his aunt lmao) that the best purple nickname was Murasaki.
Later on when I was drafting their earliest chronological interactions I came up with the idea of Izuku having helped Hitoshi choose the characters for his name, and if that happened it would make more sense for Izuku to call him by the name he chose rather than continue to call him that nickname by the time present day of VCPiS rolled around.
So yeah, this whole bit won’t make it into the final fic but I keep the drafts of the things I write bc I’m a hoarder at heart, so I hope y’all enjoy this :3
***
What're you up to? he asked Midori.
Waiting to see my dad-ordered psychiatrist lmao, Midori replied with an upside-down smiley face. Fucking kill me
Hitoshi snorted. No, you have to suffer life like the rest of us.
My *real* best friend would shuffle me off this mortal coil >:(, Midori shot back.
If *I'm* your best friend I think you have more issues than just the daddy ones.
Pleeeease Murasaki just stab me, it'll be less painful than having to talk about my ~feelings~ ಥ_ಥ
Depends on where I stabbed you. Hitoshi shoved his phone in his pocket and opened the door to Hizashi's waiting room. His secretary was on honeymoon, so there was no- oh. There was a guy with curly green hair sitting there looking at his phone. Well, there went his plan of a quickie in between Hizashi's appointments.
He sat a few seats down from the other guy, who looked up briefly to acknowledge Hitoshi was there before turning his attention back to his phone.
Stab me in the heart like you just did with your words you heartless bastard x.x
When did this turn into Romeo and Juliet?
As if I'm not old enough for you ;P
Hitoshi felt his cheeks go red. And I'm not enough of a pretty boy for you, he shot back.
I'm sure you're plenty pretty!
I have eyebags big enough to hold all *my* daddy issues Midori, I'm not what you'd call "pretty".
Pff, they can't be any bigger than the ones on the guy who's sitting here with me. There was a slight delay, and then a picture loaded.
Hitoshi stared in disbelief at what was clearly a side shot of him, slumped in the waiting room chair looking particularly exhausted as he stared down at his phone. He whipped his head up, eyes wide. "Midori?" he demanded, voice cracking partway.
The green haired- fucking midori, holy fuck – guy's head shot up, with a particular deer in headlights look in his eye. "Huh?" he said intelligently.
"Midori," Hitoshi repeated, incredulous. He held his phone out, screen facing away from him. "Dude, what the fuck?"
The other boy squinted at the screen before those big green eyes got even bigger and his jaw dropped. He looked at Hitoshi, gaze flitting up to his hair before he squeaked out, "Murasaki?"
"You have fucking green hair, of course that's why you chose your contact name," Hitoshi groaned, grinning exasperatedly.
"Like your hair isn't purple!" Midori giggled. He got up from his seat and hauled Hitoshi in for a tight hug. "I told you that if we ever met IRL I'd give you the biggest hug, didn't I?"
Hitoshi chuckled, hugging Midori back just as hard. "Yeah, I remember."
He heard Midori gasp. "Oh my god." Midori pulled back, his eyes wide with glee. "Murasaki – my therapist is your sugar daddy."
Hitoshi went bright red. "Shutthefuckup!" he hissed, slapping a hand over Midori's mouth, who started to giggle. "He is not my sugar daddy!"
It was at this point, of course, that Hizashi's office door opened. "Am I interrupting something?" he asked, one eyebrow raised.
"Nope!" Hitoshi quickly removed both hands from Midori's person, which did not go unnoticed. His friend gave him a Look that Hitoshi returned with a scowl.
"Just catching up with a friend Yamada-sensei," Midori explained cheerfully.
"Oh?" Hizashi looked between them. "I had no idea you were friends with Midoriya-kun, Hitoshi."
"Really?" Hitoshi asked, deadpan. "Your screenname is a goddamn pun?"
"Like you're one to talk, Insomnyac," Midori retorted.
Hitoshi retaliated maturely by sticking his tongue out at him.
"I will hug you again, and that is a threat," Midori said, a devious gleam in his eye.

Mental strength part 4: Keiji and Gin
The other posts on this topic:
Part 1: Sara and Nao
Part 2: Reko and Alice
Part 3: Kanna and Shin
Part 5: Kai and Q-Taro
Part 6: Joe and Mishima
This time around let's discuss our two definite survivors of main story: stoic ex-policeman that drowns in self-guilt and small kid that takes as much action as anyone else.
Keiji seems unfased by any dangers, his face is always in poker mode, his actions are logical. Weakness not detected, until trauma kicks in. And his tragedy is rough - manslaugther that is left unpunished. Mr. ex-policeman lets someone die partly because of memories of his own sin - definitely not a sigh of a healthy mental state. Even more, it seems he does not fully realise that untill second main game. Keiji's problem is a constant shifting of blame, for instance, onto Megumi who is shady but saved his life, and responsibility, for instance, onto Sara, whom he leads to conclusions but never takes the lead himself. I also believe that his choice with Kanna could be interpreted as "poor girl will not bear more deaths", seeing himself in her plight. And once again, while being broken with huge shadows under his eyes Keiji manages to advance through life. Not taking initiative, he still takes Sara under his wing. Moreover, the coffin situation actually opens his eyes about blaming the others, where he even thought he'd be better of dying there. But our sufferer was saved, and though evidently Mr Policeman-the-illusion still haunts him, he makes a plan to decieve Midori. In the banquet Keiji was ready to accept death if he didn't have some ace up his sleeve (which we don't know for now), and still he doesn't let Sara to kill Gin for him. No, he hasn't given up on himself, he remains undaunted. This man is capable of cold blooded actions, but he has nerves of steel and makes attempts to be a good person.
Gin is autistic 12 years old kid in a death game. Being there at such a young age seems traumatic enough, but he is exposed to danger every single chapter. Brave child explores just as much as adults, he is naive to the point of giving away tokens just to play, believing dealing with money is wrong for him to do. His desire to save everybody eventually leads to him becoming a challenger in the banquet, when nobody knew the rules and concequences. Not to mention him simply supporting his allies, especially Sara with her hallucinations. Like nobody can claim our boy is useless! By the way, he refused to wish to cure his autism when Midori offered, Gin just wanted to make his mom happy! The only downside of his selflessness is that it can be used against him, for example, token exchange ended in Gin being the target for poison shots. On the other hand, his naive faith keeps others from surrendering to their dark side. I wholeheartedly believe Gin is the only thing keeping group sane in logic route. So may our little protector continue to do so, sharing his strength with others!

Midori: Origins of the Ouroboros
Uuuuuuh fhdgsgsh i finished my little lore document for what happened to Midori and how her story continues after. I dont have everything 100% planned out yet, but hopefully the read is good.
To Midori. I hope you will forgive me, one day. For everything.
Back during the time of the FSM, there was a time where the serpentine had not been created, but the Overlord had been defeated. Before his destruction, he swore that the actions of the FSM will only lead to his continued suffering.
The FSM became known for being the creator of Ninjago and its defender, and as towns and civilizations grew, they worshiped and praised the one who made it possible. Whether he intended to or not, he became a figurehead in some. Despite this, he never viewed himself as a deity or royalty, and found himself alone despite being among people.
The oni believed he was weak. The dragons believed he was an abomination. Here, he was a deity. No matter the label given to him, it was hard to believe he even had a place here. That he truly belonged and felt like a person.
That is, until he met Midori.
She was considered, by all means, unimportant. Had a normal upbringing, grew up to own a tea shop and grew her own teas. In her village it was customary for farmers to pay a tribute in hopes of the FSM controlling the weather. She thought it ridiculous, as he never seemed to do so, and confronted him on extorting the locals. In reality, the FSM had never told anyone that he could, and actually didn’t want any offerings or tributes of any sort, but most ignored him.
Both were shocked at meeting each other. Midori couldn’t believe someone of such great power could be so humble, and the FSM was surprised she wasn’t afraid to rebuke him and treat him as a person.
Their meeting should have ended there, but the FSM continued to think about her, and this visited her in her shop in secret to avoid the attention of other villagers. She taught him how to work alongside her in the shop, and as the two began to know each other, they fell in love. Eventually, they decided their relationship would be a secret no longer, as Midori was announced to be the FSM’s wife. Despite the sudden change of status and the regalities bestowed upon her for marrying Ninjago’s creator, she was still the same woman he fell in love with.
Midori was headstrong, honest, hardworking and brazen. What was in her mind she would say no matter with who, and above all else supported the FSM and reminded him to stand up for himself if he did not wish to be treated as a god.
Eventually however, the two sought to have children in peace, and journeyed away from their past home.
As Midori finally gave birth, the two eventually began to interact with civilization a bit more, and for a brief moment, the family was content with their lives, being welcomed by the world, raising two infant children, and with each other. Until one day, Midori wandered far into a nearby forest in search of rare plants/herbs she believed she could find there. During her exploration, she encountered a dark substance nestled into a rock. She did not realized it was a piece of the Overlord’s own body, and as she inspected it, it suddenly became absorbed in her body, and she collapsed. When the FSM finally found her, it was too late. She grew up with a terrible illness no medicine could cure, and he realized she was overtaken by the ancient evil power of his enemy. Unable to fully handle the power of even a sliver of the Overlord’s energy, he knew her body and spirit would undergo a transformation to adapt to it. Despite all of this, he promised his wife a cure, and that he would never leave her side. Midori was hidden in the upper floor of their house, for fear of the dark power hurting their own children, and the FSM’s time was divided by helping Ninjago, raising Wu and Garmadon on his own, keeping Midori company, and looking for answers. But he could not find any, as the Overlord’s power was more potent than anything in Ninjago, and came from a world he could not bring himself to go back to. As he grew more desperate for a solution, he visited Midori less and less, and her condition grew worse. The Overlord’s power evolved to become her own, and Midori became repulsed and horrified as her lower torso grew into a sepert-like tail, and magical venom coursed into her veins. She despised her situation, and despite the FSM’s warning, occasionally left her room to explore and traverse through town hidden away from everyone. But she wasn’t perfect, and eventually the villagers told the FSM of a terrible monster they saw in the woods. The two grew frustrated with each other, and the FSM still had no way of knowing how to cure his wife. He decided to go to the Cloud Kingdom in search of answers. Unfortunately, the prophecy relayed by the Cloud Kingdom could not soothe the FSM’s mind. Instead of Midori being cured, it was predicted that her curse would overtake her and doom their entire family, and future generations, into misery. It was suggested to the FSM that he destroy her and the curse that lives within her, but he vehemently refused, distraught over the woman he loved possibly hurting their sons. Still unable to confront the powers of the Overlord, he realized that he could buy himself and his wife more time to avoid this destiny if she was unable to reach the children if she became fully corrupted. However, he was unable to bring up this plan to her as she became more out of control and furious with him over a lack of a cure. In her mind, she feared he was abandoning him, leaving her to suffer in silence and isolation while he pretended everything was normal. She hadnt even been able to see her kids, and the two were at a standstill. Fearing that the time was near, and having no solutions, the FSM decided to seal her away while she had been sleeping. Unfortunately, she had woken up to see him and assumed he was going to kill her. The two fought, and Midori managed to escape, but not before biting the FSM. Unknowingly, their powers converged, and Midori discovered she had the power to create life, while the FSM felt the Overlord’s power within him, but in a sedentary state. It was then that he realized his powers were slowly being drained for him, as well as his immortality. It was then that a secret battle waged between the FSM and Midori. She created the Serpentine to serve as mindless minions to destroy the world the FSM created, only for him to intervene and prevent disaster, as she once again fled. In the aftermath, he did not want to destroy Midori’s creations, as he still felt fondness for his wife and did not want to destroy these living beings. He instead lied to them that he was their creator, in hopes they’d be unshackled by their shallow purpose in life to destroy, and could live in harmony in this world. However, he could not stop the fighting between Serpentine and Human, and when they sepeparated, could only hope keeping to themselves would still offer some sort of peace. However, he would not live long enough to see that peace. He never told his sons about his hidden ailment, as he fought to keep it at bay and not show that his powers were being drained from him. He still managed to live for hundreds of years, but as his life started to fade, and unable to find Midori, he sought refuge in once again, another prophecy. And he learned that his power would not be fully destroyed, but inherited in it’s full potential by someone. That person would have the key to either repairing the broken bonds of the world, or destroying them entirely. Eventually, he gave in to his illness, and passed away. He did not let them see it, but he was terrified of the world he was leaving to his sons and his creations. How his mistakes and decisions led to possible endless conflicts, and how he yearned for his wife to return somehow, but afraid of what she would do to their family. Midori, after her failed attempt to weaponize the Serpentine, still interfered in their lives, creating the Great Devourer, sending false prophecies and inciting further conflict in the shadows. She had to wait not just until her husband's passing, but also observe her family and Ninjago to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. While the FSM believed in destiny, she believed the only predetermined thing was cycles; that everything was bound to repeat itself. That the misery she had undergone would be paid tenfold, that the conflicts of her and her beloved would echo in the conflict between human and serpentine, and break the bonds their family had so briefly. So she had no qualms with creating the snake that would eventually attack her own son, or watching and the Green Ninja, the inheritor of the combined powers of the FSM, suffer through the burden of his destiny and the events that followed. However, her hatred never became satiated, and she still wallowed in the loss of the life she once had. And suddenly, she had a plan. One that would be the ultimate revenge upon the FSM and grant her the life she so desired. In her eyes, the snake would continue to eat itself, and she was going to let that cycle destroy her grandson. He would be the key to her husband’s eternal punishment.

Pride Month Manga Recommendations Week 2: Yuri / Girls Love
So week number two has rolled around, which means a new focus/set for the recommendations, and a new charity! This week's theme/genre is Yuri/Girls Love, which can get a bit of a bad rap sometimes. It's absolutely true that a lot of same sex romance manga can suffer from sexualization of gender and sexual identities, but I really hope that these recommendations can be something people find interest in.
Also, a quick aside so you don't have to go all the way to the end of the post, this week's charity is GLAAD, an organization that focuses on advocacy and fair treatment of LGBTQ+ in media.
Run Away With Me Girl by Battan is a short but bittersweet story about the regrets of a pair of girls as they move forward in their adult lives. Maki drifts aimlessly through life, unable to forget the hurricane that was Midori who swept her off her feet in high school, only to leave her behind to become an "adult", while Midori finds herself trapped in an engagement to someone who who she doesn't love, burdened with the fear of becoming a mother.
The two have a chance meeting one night, years after they have last seen each other, and the facades that cover each began to crack and break apart as they spend more and more time together, rediscovering themselves, struggling with trauma and fears and hesitations, and fighting to find a way for their love to come true. It's a very beautiful story, though not without it's dark moments with things like scarily real manipulative and abusive significant others. It refuses to sugarcoat its story, but still finds its way to a rose colored end.
Bloom Into You
Our main character (right) Yuu has wanted a lovey dovey relationship like the manga she reads for as long as she can remember, but no matter where that confession comes from, it can't move her heart. She continues to turn down confessions until it's the student council president (left) Nanami that comes to her with her own confession.
It's not a series that knows exactly what it wants to do and where to go, but it matches the cadence of high school life in that stumbling. Finding the right words and approach, struggling with what love is, accepting yourself as you are, and living up to expectations. It's a tangled mess of many emotions that all find their core in love and desire, as it explores various characters and approaches to romance.
My Cute Little Kitten/Milk Morinaga
Now bear with me here, I know we're not getting the next volume until January 2024, so I want to just sort of broadly recommend Milk Morinaga's works in English. Hana and Hina After School just recently go its (print on demand) reprint, but they also have stuff like Syrup (a series of Yuri anthologies), and a good few short Yuri series that you can get digitally (most of them are oop since they're so old).
But anyways, My Cute Little Kitten. As the name implies it's cute, of course, but it's also steamy. Rena and Yuna are roommates that date all the way back to their college era, with Rena harboring a crush that slips out into words one drunken night thanks to Yuna's words spurred on by the kitten she picked up off the street. The pair end up slipping into a relationship that has them moving apartments and exploring each other while peeling back layers of themselves. It's a very comfortable story, but doesn't shy away from reminding readers that these are adults. I really enjoy that it keeps that bit of sexuality to it, but doesn't force it to coat the relationship in its entirety. There's still plenty about the characters and their anxiety that stems from their new lives.
Otherside Picnic
Ever wanted to see girls explore another world of mystery, horror, and terror while also exploring each other? Look no further than Otherside Picnic! This series is a bit different as the romance goes hand in hand with the adventure, rather than the romantic aspect spurring other pieces on. If you're not a fan of horror, you probably won't enjoy this story, but if you do, I can't recommend it enough.
Sorawo is a loner that discovered the Otherside as a way to escape from her own world, but ends up subject to the dangers of it and on the brink of dying in a puddle of water. Fate has other plans for her though, as the blonde (and Canadian) Toriko stumbles upon "Ophelia" in her puddle and saves her, setting the story in motion. The pair continue to explore the Otherside over the span of months and even years, initially for the sake of searching for Toriko's teacher Satsuki, but as their relationship deepens and they come to further understand each other, the purpose becomes more muddy.
I really just want to drive home how good this story is. I really really love it for how the characters are presented, and how the use of horror and fear is used to show how deep and strong the relationship between Toriko and Sorawo grows to be. Though do be warned, it's a bit of a slow burn, but I absolutely think it's worth it thanks to how great and unique the characters are.
Futari Escape
Now I'll level with you, this isn't a yuri romance series, there's not even many displays of affection. But still, I think it's a yuri series that countless people out there would enjoy.
It's the story of Senpai, a short girl who loves to mooch off of her mangaka roommate/girlfriend, Kouhai, and their journey(s) through life as they endeavor to enjoy the smaller things. Going on random trips, reminiscing on days gone, or getting themselves into a spot of trouble that they conveniently forget about. It's incredibly endearing and comically passionate about dodging work and responsibility. Because of that though, it's the perfect manga to take a break from life with. To find just that little bit of comedy, or a random idea you wouldn't have thought of, or to let your mind wander aimlessly as you flip the pages. It's a wonderful rest stop in the relentless onslaught that is the present reality, and on that alone it's such an easy title to recommend.
And so we find ourselves at the end of another week of recommendations, and a new charity to check out! GLAAD is a charity that focuses on advocacy and cultural change for LGBTQ+ in media. They do quite a bit and even have their own media awards. Once more, I don't want to push people to donate, but I do highly recommend everyone check out their website to see what it is that they do, and how you can get involved.

Treehouses continues to be a mystery to me. Sure the only thing that suffered in Engage were the support but hum... they literaly censored Goldmary saying she ate too much. I know that they ruined a lot of things in Awakening, did worse with Fates and Three Houses is not much better, but that thing with the support is even weirder because it did not bothered them for past games. They panicked over Anna having a crush on Alear and being friendzone, but characters like Ricken and Hayato had the same conversation, with the ENTIRE cast, not just the Avatar. The way they handled Veyle's s support which was mean to be platonic too in the jpn makes it seems romantic in comparision. Now, I am glad they did not censored all the DLC characters (because Madeline being 16 makes it impossible for her to date someone one year older) but seeing how they had to stressed on the twins' lack of relationship with Alear, I feel like we are going to have the same "Owain/Lucina" and "Midori/Asugi" problem since those were censored to simply "companions" when it's common knowledge that Japan is part of the country allowing 1st cousin marriage. We already had people making mental gymnastic to prouve that Veyle was romantic because of that. And that's just the support, i still remember them changing one of Laslow's line where he said he had to save "the world" in reference to Hidden truth but they changed it by "protect Nohr". God they really sabotaged Fates.
Localizers are usually at the whim of whatever corporate thinks will be best for the brand image. If you approach it like that, it makes a lot more sense.
There was a lot of outrage from a very vocal minority of 3H fans about the student/teacher relationships and underage relationships, so Engage needed to censor the characters who are minors to avoid backlash. Of course, inadvertently creating even dumber problems for themselves (such as 19 year old Alear being unable to date 17 year old Fogado, but able to date 45 year old Vander)
Fates is mostly a bastion of stupid changes that seemed to have happened for no reason. Couldn't tell youw hat exactly happened there.

Extinction Curse Session 2024/05/29 Part 1
Midori sang a verse to inspire courage, counting off and insisting four times that there was nothing wrong with her. She then ran closer to the fight in preparation for getting into range. Buffy also moved toward the battle, casting a shield on herself.
The fallen xulgath rider, seeing Zookdar approaching, released a powerful stench from his gland, but Zookdar suffered no ill effects. The xulgath rider on the tyrannosaurus attacked Zookdar with his halberd, missing twice, and then hitting once. Zookdar attacked the grounded xulgath and swept his flickmace into the tyrannosaurus, hitting both.
Fizzarolli moved towards the foes and ordered Nefarsia to attack the tyrannosaur. The downed xulgath rider threw a vial of alchemist's fire at Zookdar, missing, but splashing flames on him. Zookdar reacted with a retributive strike on the xulgath, hitting him. The tyrannosaur bit into Nefarsia and flung her into one of the barricades twenty feet away.
Suddenly, a crashing noise came from the northwest. The xulgath herd-tender regained control of his scared triceratops and managed to steer it back to the fray.
Midori sang another verse, signaling her allies thrice that something must give in this battle. She ran toward the xulgath on the ground to get a good angle to attack him, stopping as she smelled his horrible stench. She bent over, retching in revulsion. "Ooh, thought I could handle the smell this time!"
Buffy moved up next to Midori, using her telekinesis to pick up a stick off the ground and hurl it at the xulgath, skewering him through a shoulder. He crumpled to the ground, shrieking in pain, but still conscious.
The battle continued between the party and the dinosaurs and riders. Fizzarolli started fighting alongside Nefarsia, taking advantage of the reach of his six-foot boarding pike to strike.
Attempting to finish off the grounded xulgath, Midori belted out a verse to her comrades informing them three times in a gruff, heavy metal voice that they should let the bodies hit the floor. She followed up by throwing a telekinetic projectile but again missed her target.
Meanwhile, Buffy launched a similar attack against the tyrannosaurus, killing it. The rider dismounted from his fallen steed and attacked Zookdar with his halberd.
The battle raged on, the heroes taking their hits very well without falling, yet striking true against their xulgath and dinosaur enemies. Fizzarolli coaxed more megavolt attacks out of Nefarsia to great effect. Zookdar hit multiple foes with sweeps from his gnome flickmace. Even Midori broke her streak of bad luck with a critical hit with a telekinetically hurled rock. Finally, Nefarsia struck a death blow on the final xulgath rider!
The party took the opportunity to dismantle the barricades, rest, heal up, and search the fallen foes for fun favors. Fizzarolli found that one of the xulgath riders had been fighting with a magical halberd, which he then claimed as his own. He also decided to clean up one of the triceratopses' skulls to take as a souvenir.
LEVEL UP: LEVEL 13!
All of a sudden, Orbison, Midori's star orb, floated out of its hiding place and hovered in front of Midori's face. Although the two could not communicate directly, Midori caught a vague feeling of what her familiar was trying to tell her. She replied, "What? Really? You figured it out? HAHAHAHHAHAH!"
The rest of the party shot her confused, concerned looks. "Oh, Orbison here just told me he finally figured out the traditional kitsune Killing Stone trick. See, he shoots out a cloud of poison from a distance at our enemies. Area of effect, baby!"
Similarly, the other adventurers had also learned some new tricks. Buffy informed everybody that she had discovered a spell to create a safe place for the party to rest and recuperate. This magnificent magical mansion would also provide servants and a nine-course feast for up to a hundred and fifty people.
"A feast, you say?" Midori perked up. "Are ya sain' we can have a feast once a day? I'm all for that!"
"We're also dealing with a food shortage in Willowside," Zookdar reminded Midori. "We should probably use this spell to help feed the townsfolk."
Midori laughed nervously, "Ha, ha! Of course! Yeah...the townsfolk. Of course, I meant the feast would be for the townsfolk." Her ears drooped crestfallenly.
"WELL!" Midori exclaimed, slapping her thighs and standing up from her seat on the ground. "I suppose it's time for us to head on back to town. Load 'em up and move 'em out!"
The party packed up and departed for Willowside once more.
(The song Bodies is by Drowning Pool. Just sayin'.)

Misato's Lament:
A "Preview" of Distorted Reflections: Underneath the Blood-Soaked Bandages
- - - - -
I have ran, and ran, and ran, to a point where I don't feel like myself, but more like a ghost, one may say I'm now a walking corpse, another would say I'm an Ikiryō, though no matter what I am; I just don't feel like living anymore...
I have witnessed many things in my life that I just wish I had forgotten, however, if only a human could dream; if only I had talked to my parents so they could express their feelings rather than them come and go; if only I had helped and protected Midori-chan further from the other freaks at the circus and fully understand the horrors she had faced before I arrived here by that conman of a boss rather than her vanish in front of my eyes, if only...
So much burden, so much grief, so much... Regret.
Well, at least someone had found me and tended to me as if she was like a mother that my original mother should've been, which is fairly ironic as the woman that tended to me is indeed a mother of two kids, and to be honest; she's a whole lot better than my original mom, but, however... I hadn't gotten used to the lifestyle yet...
My heart and mind are back there, where Midori-chan once was, at that circus, that horrid circus, the circus that gave Midori-chan such suffering, such pain, such torment...
I need to let go of that place, or otherwise, I'll lose myself in despair. Why do I even think of that awful place in the first place? Why must I think of that rotten setting when I know it gave me and Midori such trauma? Why, just why?
But now, why must I, after 80 years, do I feel awful when I should be grateful for the kindness I'm slowly embracing from the new people that surround me?
Oh, Midori, if you could hear me, wherever you are, I'm so scared, I just don't know how to continue living any longer, if I'm ever living in my current state, since it had been 80 years since I ran from the circus after your vanishing, but wherever you are; please tell me, I don't want to lose you again...

I was actually talking to a friend about this a few days ago! There's a kind of uneasy tension underlying her nature as a woman who is the protagonist of a quest on 4chan with a mostly male readerbase, right? To a certain extent this makes her function as a kind of self-insert avatar for the readerbase - a woman who's extremely cool (in a masculine kind of way), who's constantly having trouble with other women and breaking their hearts (again in a cool masculine kind of way), etc etc - someone who can serve as a vessel for the readers' desire to be a girl who embodies all of their ideas of cool. I think this dynamic results in giving her a lot of underlying transfeminine coding that just kind of falls out of the narrative without anyone putting it there on purpose
This cashes out in a lot of weird gender stuff around her characterization. She's starting from an archetype of self-destruction steeped in masculine-coded vices - alcoholism, chain-smoking, a painkiller addiction, etc etc (you can trace this archetype as a kind of lesbian back to Saint-Juste Oniisama E but it's easy to do in a trans-inflected way - see Luna-Terra HWBM). On top of that she has her weird masculine sense of bravado, her total indifference to her own appearance (regarding her body as just a machine for violence), and also that conversation where she tells Midori that if they have kids Midori will need to be the one who gets pregnant. She's constantly romancing women by accident and regards this as a natural state of affairs with no tension about being attracted to girls whatsoever but she's terrified to respond to their affections and for a very long time can only let herself be chased. Also she has a literal dead-name that she spends most of the story trying to escape. It's easy to take all of this weird gender coding and do a reading of her as a certain kind of dead-eyed trans woman too numb to her own suffering to do anything other than continue to wallow.
Anyway to answer your second question no she doesn't remember what trans is and everyone she meets assumes she already knows so no one has told her
do you think chiaki mgnq was transgender? follow up question, do you think she remembers what transgender means?

no nsfw? ok i will censor. i want alice to [long cartoonish car horn accentuated by cat yowls and metal pans clattering] me and [more beeping, wilhelm scream] while i [roblox death noise for two minutes straight]. also, while i think miley is hot as hell, imo shes a non-character and in not a good way, i think if safalin or better yet ranger were a reoccuring character it would be better in every way; imagine if ranger was the first doll you met, and after joe died his sprite changed so you saw him wearing the hairclip? would also give way more meaning to his death and the rio laizer bit, as well.
i completely disagree with you on Miley being a non-character, and i think she's such a good demonstration of the themes and tones of yttd. not only that, her being the main villain in chapter one sets an easy story to follow until we get to a more complex story in chapter 2.
at first,. she is the Bad Guy. the only Bad Guy we know of. she is the FACE of asunaro, the game, and what they are to expect from here on. her being so cruelly passive as the game continues on is literally what is required of her. it's something ranger could never do, he's too invested in the participants and it's what gets him killed in chapter 2. YES miley and ranger share a lot of traits, mostly the sadistic joy they outwardly express as the participants suffer, but MILEY does it to observe and record, and RANGER does it out of passion and jealousy. Miley is there to provide what Gashu does in Chapter 2, she is law and order on the floor. I believe Ranger and Midori have more similar roles, they are there to bring Chaos.
ALSO. I just want to say. Mishima's death in the Pink Room just would NOT have been the same with Ranger. that scene literally is the paragon of yttd in my opinion. a constant in the game is the illusion of choice. the games are rigged, the votes are rigged and not everyone's chances are equal. some people never even had a chance. mishima's death so clearly shows that. and miley is KEY factor to that. she's passive, explains the rules clearly, and then waits for the results and REVELS in them.
ranger wasn't meant to be a bad guy like miley was. he was supposed to be more like maple in my opinion. maple is just another victim to asunaro, made to torment others. also, ranger being around for such a short period of time before he's tossed away like nothing really adds to his tragedy, honestly. ranger is nothing more than a doll who thought he had more power than he really did.
#sorry i had a lot of opinions on this one#miley is a great villian she does so much for chapter one she add so much to the despair and the cold and callous energy#but also the first part of this ask was super funny sorry i didn't respond to it in the caption#same dude

"Dude" — Bakugou Katsuki x Reader.
Summary: Your former bully, Midori, has confessed her undying love for one of the most famous guys at U.A.; you're just venting gossiping about it with Mei, not knowing Bakugou Katsuki is right around the corner, listening;
Warnings: None. Well, Bakugou Katsuki having various anger induced strokes > the normal > no warnings; light crackfic? subtle ending;
Word count: 4.5k;
[ Part 2 ];
"She confessed to him." You grinned, throwing a bunch of fries into your mouth like the absolute animal you were.
Mei on the other hand continued her work on whatever in the world her new prototype, or "baby", was. Still, you had the honor of having half of her attention, which was a compliment to say at least.
She just smiled, shaking her head, leading you to continue, not knowing a blond was quite literally behind the corner, just outside the door leading to the support department, frown on his face.
"She came to class giggling like an idiot saying she's got a plan." You made a face into the distance, remembering your classmate's obnoxious squeal. "Ugh, she started telling the Divas how she's gonna have The Bakugou Katsuki in the bag." An ugly snort left your body, which earned an amused chuckle from Mei.
Both of you were pretty well known to be very good friends, and as much as you hated to admit it, you were both quite the social pariahs too. She was a little bit strange or weird, as some called her, but not for a single second she cared, which was the reason you admired the girl so much in the first place. Meanwhile you've taken the role of the bitch of the whole school by far. Sadly, you were placed in the same class as your archenemy, only increasing your chances of being called said endearing term.
Middle-school was a nightmare to say at least, getting bullied for your looks, the way you spoke or dressed, anything really as long as you were the one being mocked. And who was the one doing the bullying? Midori. Stunning, graceful, baby-faced Midori. Petite yet elegant, a devil in disguise. Whoever crossed her path suffered her malice unless she had something to gain from them.
And now, sweet Midori was in the U.A.'s General Studies, coinciding with you in the majority but not all classes. It had to do with the tragedy that your quirk was so rare that the principal Nezu had to adjust a new schedule just for you. Just kidding, it was amazing. The actual tragedy was seeing her face every day.
Back to your heartbreaking backstory and origin; time made you tough, comments made you build a wall so tall and thick nobody could crumble it. Backstab after backstab made you learn that not everyone has good intentions, but in your loneliness you found Hatsume Mei. So honest and dedicated, so raw and passionate. A good person. The type of person your parents promised you'd someway cross paths with and gain such a strong friendship that nothing could tear it apart.
Becoming friends with her was easy, kinda. It took snapping back at Midori when she started her normal bullying routine on Mei, which ignored it without a care. You stepped in and the rest is history. It did feel good though, calling her a pathetic bitch before turning to the stranger with a cool gadget in her hands to compliment it. And, since she's a sucker for her babies, you had to deal with an hour of sparkly eyes and monologues about her plans and prototypes.
Funny girl, Mei. You remember thinking but the following day you passed by her usual spot to fill your curiosity, asking if she did solve the problem she was complaining about.
"He was the one she was planning to ask out?" She screamed at you, head inside a giant metal gauntlet and the reason you two started talking about said man in particular. News were extra-fresh anyway.
"Oh, yeah!" You shook your head, ashamed to exist in the same general proximity as a person like your former bully. "He's gonna be so rich and famous!" A high pitched squeal left your mouth as you tried to copy her voice. "Poor fucking guy, if only he knew."
"But people know she's a bitch!" She screamed again, repairing or adjusting something with almost all of her body inside the gauntlet. A smile, genuine and soft this time, formed on your face. The pink-haired girl wasn't one to talk bad about others or even care, but it was clear she wasn't particularly fond with Midori either, although the conversation was more for you to vent rather than gossip. Sure it was.
"Like the people from the Hero Department even care about us, the commoners." With a roll of the eyes, you followed. "If he's smart, he'll run away. If he's an asshole, he could use her too."
"What do you mean?" Pink flocks of hair suddently submerged from the gadget, eyes curious zooming on you. That probably got more than 50% of her attention and it was a new personal goal while she was at the workshop.
With shrugged shoulders, your answer came nonchalant. "He could date her and dump her like she's nothing. Would serve her right for all the shit she's talking about him." But the only response you got was a short quizzical look, followed by your exagerated sigh. "She's talking shit about him constantly, but then says he's hot and that his personality doesn't matter anyway. Money, fame, looks. She has a whole fucking life-plan! Then calls him a rabid dog!"
"Woah—" that surprised her.
"Woah indeed! Insane. It's insane. I don't know the guy but no one deserves that shit." When you got no response, you continued your speech, munching in the food with passionate hunger, words coming out almost indistinguishable. "Doubt he'd play her though. He looks like a smart guy. I've seen the Sports Festival—" you picked up your burger, giving it heart eyes. "—and I've seen the news. He's probably a good guy too, the issue is people don't see that and... Well, I understand what's it to be judged... Not many have what it takes to be a real hero but he does. Hope he finds happiness in life." Much talk for someone that doesn't know shit about the guy in particular, but even so faint, your gut instinct was trained well enough to spot malice and he lacked that. "And a therapist." And there's the little shit in you that had to drop a cheeky comment.
Mei's gaze turned downwards and even if you could see her brain do mental gymnastics to solve whatever problem she had in front of her super-eyes, she also contemplated your words with great care.
"He comes here from time to time—" she grins, smacking the grenade looking gauntlet with her weird utensil. "I noticed you two are similar." Your face twisted, eyes wide towards the girl.
Similar how? He was loud, bold with a foul mouth, definitely needed a therapist for those unresolved anger issues... But he was also bright as in whenever he went, people looked in his direction, like he shined; obviously strong, also from what you've heard smart, popular, lucky to be surrounded by kind people. Example being that very nice pink girl that had a joyous conversation with you the very first day of school and, much to your surprise, continued greeting and having sweet small talks with you every single time you saw each other. Or the blond haired guy that showed off a little bit too much and made dumb flirty comments with no bad intentions, the same blond that waved at you with enthusiasm when you'd cross paths. There was the red-head, Kirishima, that was an absolute gentleman, opening doors for you even if you had two functioning hands and smiled so bright it made your corneas burn, or also the dark haired guy, Sero, that you've seen helping literally anyone in need around the school campus with an easy going attitude and gentle grins. Bakugou Katsuki was surrounded by good people, good heroes just as amazing as him and if they liked him, he must've definitely had some good in him, right? Another point appeared in your mental presentation about the brash hero in the making was that he was way too attractive but the wise burried deep inside of you made that particular point dissappear. No need to think about that. Overall you weren't even remotely similar. Not even close. Two completely different human beings from two completely different worlds that would never collide. With that being said, there was the small chance that Mei hinted for you to get a therapist too, who knows.
"How even—"
"I mean!" She screwed something in place. "I mean in your— determination?"
"I wouldn't know that." You muttered.
"He screams I'm gonna be the best every time he's here—"
"Cute..." You vomit that endearment without thinking, but thankfully it got ignored.
"—and it always reminds me of you." A small chuckle left your mouth.
"Don't make fun of me."
"You say it too~"
"I just heal, Mei, it's not the same." Principal Nezu's speech, the speech he gave your parents months into the first year as they found themselves aware of your power made you hold your words. You had it in you. The potential. If incredible people like your teachers, like Shuzenji Chiyo or Principal Nezu twisted things around for your quirk, for how rare and powerful it is, you'd accept it.
"But you're gonna be the best healer ever, aren't you?" She taunted.
"Of course. Which reminds me—!"
"Hmm?" Her attention faded away slightly, but it wasn't a problem.
She cheered, both at you and at her finished masterpiece and proceeded to eat too, passing through the lunch hour without interruption.
"Recovery Girl is putting me on active duty at the infirmary from now on. Finally!"
Innocent pale purple eyes stared into deep crimson ones, furrowed brows covering them.
—
Bakugou Katsuki wasn't one to enjoy being annoyed or surprised and this extra managed to make him feel both things in a short notice.
Everyone around him froze in fear or wonder, awaiting his response without breathing or moving an inch. Meanwhile Whoever-she-was held a pink envelope in front of him, a perfume too sweet coming from it making him want to literally gag in the spot.
Another thing the boy did not appreciate was to have someone bullshit him. His senses were telling him to back off, alarms ringing in his head and those purple eyes held hidden intentions; he wasn't having any of it.
"Fuck off." He snapped, yet his stance was casual as he refused to move out of her way since she was the one that had the audacity to run into him.
Some gasps, even coming from his so-called idiotic friends, could be heard and an indignant Bakubro behind him as he got slapped in the shoulder but he did not care. Not until her lips started to tremble as she retreated her confession letter towards her chest dramatically. His eyebrow started to twitch at the sight.
It was a spectacle for anyone surrounding him.
"What's going on?" Shushes and whispers.
"Bakugou Katsuki just got a confession!" Gossip.
"What!? Who?!" Confusion.
"You said Bakugou Katsuki?!" Shock.
"Oh, she's pretty!" Awe.
"He told her to Fuck off! What an asshole!" Outrage.
"Is that Midori?" Surprise.
"The nerve—" Anger.
"Midori from—" Disbelief.
"Oh, my God, she's really doing it~!" Giggles.
He frowned deeper. If people were to talk about him, they should be talking about all the crap he's been doing and all the lives he saved, not because of a fake bimbo decided to cross his path.
Bakugou wasn't stupid either. With time he knew these things would eventually come in his direction, stuff he'd have to deal with in the future as fame would take over, but not now. He did not have time to entertain this show anyway.
There was only one destination in his mind and she was keeping him in the middle of the whole school cafeteria with prying eyes on them both.
"Bakugou, do something, she's about to cry!" Dunce Face harshly whispered, but turned towards the white haired girl that looked devastated in front of them. "Ignore him! Ask me out, I would never make you cry!"
He rolled his eyes so back in his head it almost hurt. With a need to hurl the food he just ate, he made a step to leave the scene but small hands with claw-like fingernails gripped his arm and he looked at her in utter disgust.
"No, I would never! He—" she sniffled but had no tears in her eyes. He gave her a scowl, trying to take his arm out of her grip but she scratched him in place with her tiny rat hands. "You're the one I love! I—" her bangs covered her face as she continued her show.
"Bakugou! Dude! Do something!" Shitty Hair said, his dumb and blind trust in people buying the act. A vein almost popped on Bakugou's forehead.
"I fucking said—" he pulled his arm so hard she fell on her knees by his side. "Fuck. Off."
Another set of gasps filled the room.
"Bakugou!"
One thing he did not want, even if he could tell it was a foul theater, was to hurt somebody. His asshole act ended at that but his pride stopped him from saying anything.
Glancing to see if she's hurt, Pink Idiot was by her side, helping her up and asking way too many fucking questions.
"No, I'm fine..." she said with such a meek voice he scoffed, also hearing all the shit everyone around him was talking.
"He's such a brute."
"What a mean guy—"
"She's crying!"
"Fucking asshole."
He gritted his teeth.
After the disaster with the League of Villains in the first year, people started to respect him for who he was yet one single, minuscule shit like this and they were all at his jugular.
"I took Bakugou-san by surprise." She excused his behavior to Ashido, which then suggested they should eat lunch together sometimes to make up for the trouble after apologizing in his behalf.
"Yeah, we'd love to have you around! Isn't that right, Bakugou?" The apologetic and almost pleading voice of his blond friend, if he ever was going to call him that anymore, just made him bare his teeth. If they wanted to get played like fools it was their problem, not his.
And that's how he found himself eavesdropping on the weirdo and an extra.
And with a single "Whatever." he left the cafeteria, going to check if his gauntlets were ready, annoyance oozing off him, making the sea of people part from his path. Except he didn't notice you rushing away a little bit in front of him, holding a bag of food, all amused.
Why the fuck was everyone talking about him? Can't they fucking keep his pretty name outta their mouths? With time and without finding a reason why the hell he was glued in place, he listened attentively, his suspicions confirmed and his ego hurt, but whoever was talking about him calmed his nerves a lot. He just needed to put a face to that voice. Just to see who's gossiping about him, nothing else.
—
With a full belly and a whole afternoon to study by Recovery Girl's side, you marched towards the infirmary after you bid your farewell to Mei. There was still time to walk around, grab something sweet for later and save any poor soul that Midori decided to sink her teeth in. It was common at this point, you getting in between her and her victims and taking the hit, yet somehow also being called a bitch by everyone. That's how high-school worked. She did have friends and they spread any word she spat. Vultures.
It was fine though. Hero [Y/N] is there to save the day no matter what. You scoffed at your own stupidity, turning the corner just to step on a leg that was sprawled on the floor.
He clicked his tongue, getting up with no worry in the world, but made no action to leave, settling for observing and analyzing you way too intensely.
"Watch where the fuck you're going, idiot." The man of the hour, the guy you've defended in front of your friend just screamed at you as he dusted off the imprint of your shoe left on his pants. Meanwhile you just paled in place before regaining your composture.
"Why are you sitting on the floor?" You said, tilting your head with a frown, already knowing you will not apologize.
Unimpressed by what was going on, even if you truly couldn't point out what really was going on, you made an attempt to move past him towards the vending machines not far behind, but he caught your arm in a firm grip.
You blinked stupidly at the skin contact.
"Heard you were talkin' shit."
Your stomach dropped. Legs almost gave up too if it weren't for his iron grip holding you still. In the silence and at the satisfaction of the reaction you let out, he smirked and raised his chin, only Mei's singing voice coming from her workshop could be heard. Realization hit you. Hit you? Bitchslapped you in the face and left a mark for sure, because your cheeks started feeling heated, tingly.
He dragged you away, maybe to have the privacy to murder you in peace, but your common sense kicked in and you came back from the land of the mortified.
Much like he did before, action you saw with your two own eyes and repeated, you pulled out of his strong grip and stared as he turned towards you, mouth already opened to probably eat you alive.
"I wasn't talking shit about you, dude." You quickly spoke first.
"You don't fucking know me." He growled back, taking a step towards you but like hell you'd back down.
"Don't need to be besties to say what I said." Without understanding why he was so agitated, the only thing left to do after this beautiful turn of events was to defend the honor remaining in you, so you raised your chin to be at par with him. The action clearly took him by surprise, making him glare more, if even possible.
"I don't fucking appreciate when extras talk about me behind my back!"
"I don't give a shit what you appreciate, dude." Your laugh was the complete opposite of his menacing loud voice, like ying and yang.
"Bakugou, the name's fucking Bakugou, you extra!" Bakugou recovered quickly at your snappy self, getting more bothered as you talked.
"Okay, dude." His hands fisted, shaking in place as he stared you down but did not continue.
Silence; the hallway was now filled with silence as he boiled in his own anger and as you raised your brows in confusion. Now what? Was it time to leave? You've never met anyone like him, this was peculiar—
"NOW IT'S WHEN YOU FUCKING TELL ME YOUR SHITTY NAME, YOU FUCKING DUMBASS!"
A second passes; two; at the third you're wheezing your lungs out, laughing at the ridiculousness of the scenario.
"What the fuck are you LAUGHING AT?!" His voice got louder just to top your howling. You did not expect that.
Through a sigh, regaining your breath, you say "It's [L/N] [Y/N].", seeing him retreat in his form and cross his arms. He was still seizing you up.
"If you have shit to say to me, say it to my fucking face, understood?"
"I—... Say what now?"
"I—." He copied in a mock, getting an incredulous look from you. "You stupid or what?" Your upper lip lifted, ready to cuss him to infinity and beyond but he continued. "Like about that bitch from before and shit—" even if he still was loud, he placed his hands in his pockets and looked more interested in the way the tiles on the wall were placed instead of your person. "An' like you told the weirdo—"
No time to be shocked at the implied; his last word enraged you, making your body shake with rage. "Don't fucking dare to call her a weirdo ever again."
Like a challenge, he snapped his face back at you, ready to take it.
"Or what?"
"Listen here, fucker—" now that was a nice surprised face he was pulling. "Just because I gave you a pat on the back in there doesn't mean you can disrespect people just because you think you're the shit. You're not. Now get out of my fucking way." With a final push to his shoulder, your mind was focused on going to the infirmary, steam almost coming out of your nostrils.
"Hey, extra!"
Ignore him, ignore him, ignore him. went through your mind, marching away without a glance back. Not until—
"[L/N]! You're a healer, hah?" That's interesting. He stood where you left him, watching.
"What's it to you?"
Someone sane would've left at your tone but this guy walked towards you then showed you his arms, recently scratched. Images came back to you about the cafeteria incident but did not underst—... did he want to get healed?
You scoffed.
"They're scratches, dude."
"They annoy me. Now heal." All the energy you had left in your body was channeled towards the slow blink you threw at him, at which he scoffed. But they did look nasty— and Midori did them. It was a curse by itself to look down at your own arms and remember that face, so the guardian angel in you decided to take control and be the better person.
Gentle fingers barely tapped his muscular arm. Smile crept up on your lips, feeling absolutely delighted at his obvious stiffness at the skin contact and the clear interest in his eyes, specially when the scratches started disappearing into nothing, leaving smooth silk skin under.
"Hey— Wha— Where the fuck do you think you're going?!" raspy voice got lost in the distance and one thought in your head.
"Want a lollipop for being a good patient too?" You mock and his face explodes in all shapes of red. It would've been great to mock him more, enthralled by his reactions, but with that you turned and left, ignoring the tingling under your fingers that should not be there and your stomping heart.
Did he wait all the lunchbreak to talk to you?
—
A long queue was ahead of you, earning the longest sigh out of your lungs. Life was pain sometimes. Mei couldn't hang out, food was too far away, the delicious croissants Lunch Rush made ran out as far as you could see. Pain. Just pure pain.
And disappointment. When you walked away with your food in a bag, maybe to sit under a tree and enjoy some peace and quiet, you saw her. Midori sitting at a table you did not expect. At the same table where Ashido Mina, Denki Kaminari, Kirishima Eijirou and Hanta Sero sat at. Good people. Honest, good people about to get bitten by a snake. If she was there, then Bakugou decided—
"You. Sit."
Thinking about the boy somehow summoned him behind you. Food in hand and bored expression on his face, he passed you not without giving you a stink eye. Indeed, disappointment.
You shrugged, trying not to pay much attention to the pang in your heart as you moved forward, but a voice— his voice stopped you in your tracks.
"You. Get the fuck out of my face." His growl made everyone around him turn to watch, you being one of them. There was no excuse to what came next, no way to run away past it and dissappear. He nodded his head at you out of all people and pointed at the seat still occupied by Midori; her purple eyes big, shocked, running between your frame and the blond's.
Do you know what it felt to be put in the spotlight without warning? Well, congratulations because that was your life now.
"Ba—Bakugou-san?" Her voice, now highed up and meek followed, then a small scream as Bakugou slammed his food on the table. His friends sat there, wide-eyed, but made no attempt to interrupt.
"Did I fucking stutter, bitch? Or want me to turn into a rabid dog for fucking real?"
You choked on your own spit, bag of goodies about to drop on the floor once you saw her horrified face. She knew that he knew. And when her pale eyes, filled with sudden malice, act dropped, turned to you it's when you realized she figured out where he found out from.
Not like you cared, really, but the little shit that always had to poke out every time she was in the same room as you decided to finally show up, making you wave and send her a wink.
"I said MOVE!" now— that growl, raspy and filled with anger startled her. The orange juice in her hands spilled all over her uniform and woke her up from whatever delusion she was in. With zero time to reconsider, every belonging of hers was picked up with trembling hands and she ran away to her group of cockroaches.
A smile was already settled on your face; your brain was storing that whole interaction deep within, ready to bring it back up whenever you needed a good laugh.
Life was pain and disappointment, you say? No. Life was great. Or more importantly, Bakugou was. Not like he needed to know. But he was a decent guy as he proved—
"THE FUCK YOU STANDING THERE LIKE A DUMBASS?! I SAID SIT!" —to be a pain in the fucking ass and the bane of your existence.
You gave him a face then turned to walk away, even rushing more when you heard his chair screeching on the floor. The exit was so close, so near, freedom never felt this great, the sunlight kissing your skin giving you a new hope to live. But not for long because he grabbed your hand and started dragging you towards his table.
Your hand was in his hand and he was dragging you—
Your hand— his big, warm, a little bit sweaty hand—
How could you ruin such a beautiful moment? Eyes on you two, shocked, silence, his adorable red ears being the only thing you could see as he was completely in front of you, still dragging you towards his friends...
"Did you wait all lunchbreak yesterday to talk to me?" You collided into him as you finished the sentence, his way taller form stiffened so much you felt you single-handedly broke Bakugou Katsuki for good.
But when he turned... Oh, when he turned. Biggest deer-caught-in-the-headlights eyes you've ever seen on anyone, cheeks painted so red you almost melted in the spot, lips trembling as his head worked a thousand miles per second just to find a retort. And you prepared yourself for—
"NO, I FUCKING DIDN'T! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, YOU FUCKING EXTRA? I'D NEVER WAIT FOR SOMEONE LIKE YO— ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME!" Mina's waving hand caught your attention and smiled at her. Your hand was still in his, gripped harshly as he still hasn't noticed it's still there.
"Hey! [L/N], long time no see!" She cheered, ignoring the living shit out of her screaming friend, like she's used to it.
"FUCKING LOOK AT ME WHEN I TALK TO YOU—"
"Hey, chill, dude. Now let go of my hand, I wanna talk to Ashido." You smiled sweetly, making extra effort to wave your linked hands arond until he finally noticed. He zapped his hand away so fast, like he's been bitten by a wild animal. Maybe even a rabid dog, if you will.
You couldn't ignore your own flustered state as you walked past him, giving him a one up, adding the absolute scandalized face he had into the back of your mind for safekeeping.
"Come sit with us!" The pinkette offered.
"Oh, hey, I know you! You're by Hatsume's workshop all the time!" Kirishima intervened with a surprised face that broke into a grin. "Nice to officially meet—"
"I fucking said." he appeared, sitting in front of you. "My name's Bakugou."
"Ok, dude, but I'm talking to someon—"
"BAKUGOU KATSUKI!" Could be heard from the stratosphere.
Note: I just realized Midori means Green [ fucking duh ] but I'm not gonna change the name or her description. I think her parents fucking up her name was the start of many accidents leading into the Midori we all know and hate. Also, I know you understand. We all know a Midori in our lives. Much love.
Note 2: I keep editing it but tumblr dot com slash Install App on Phone fucks my editing and switches paragraphs all around! If you find any PLEASE tell me, I'd really appreciate it!!!

Hi! I'm in the midst of rereading NANA and wondering.... any news about continuation of manga?
No news for a while.
The last mention we have is from 2016, in an interview with Ai Yazawa in ROLA. She said she would like to some day finish NANA but did not mention how likely that was and when that could happen and in what format. It's been 5 years since then and not much has changed.
Since then, in 2019 her series Tenshi Nanka Jai Nai was republished in 5 volumes with all covers with new art and Paradise Kiss got an omnibus version with all 5 volumes in 1 also with a new cover. She also contributed a new illustration of Midori from Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai to a Ribon art exhibit back at the beginning of 2021. All this to say, she is definitely still drawing and interested in her own characters.
There is also this interview from 2019 in which she reiterates some of what she said in the ROLA interview as well as a few other new things regarding Yazawa's well-being, however the interview is in Japanese and has not been translated outside of google translate. The most interesting excerpts are as follows:
The hospital she went to was a women's only hospital:
"This is a medical center for women's mental and physical health. All the staff are women, and specialists in each department work together to provide medical care. Women are in a delicate balance of mind and body. It is a popular center for women because it is easy to break down. "(Medical personnel)
During the interview she reiterated what she in her 2016 ROLA magazine interview, which is that she would like to finish the series when she is well.
"To be honest, I'm still not ready to resume work. I'm sure we will be able to deliver "NANA" to everyone once we get well." (Yazawa)
And most importantly, her illness is not terminal or uncurbable.
"Because I didn't say any illness, It seems that everyone is worried. I'm not suffering from an illness that never cures, so please give me some time. "If you treat me patiently, you will recover little by little. The doctor's teacher also said, "I hope that fans will watch over me, believing in this Ai Yazawa."
Other than that, NANA has risen in popularity after it got popular on TikTok so the official English translation manga copies are sold-out and in need of a re-print. There is also a Chinese drama being made, based on NANA. Also the anime is getting an HD release and there are figures of Nana and Hachi being made.
I think that is the last of the news we've had in the last year or so.

request: “hi! i saw reqs are open and you write for yttd so hi! this is my first time requesting but yttd deserves more hype 🥺 can you write about sou/shin who wants cuddles but his s/o (female or gn is fine) is as much as a workaholic as him, so they don’t give in to him and keep coding away on their computer? no pressure at all, thank you ☺️❤️” by
a/n: this was my first yttd request^^ i really like sou/shin as a character ;; (though i did end up saving kanna) his whole 0% chance and the midori/shin/sou twist was so good!! i really want to replay saving him instead of kanna^^
warning: spoilers for chapters 2 and 3 of YTTD;; also; jm sleep deprived and my mental state ?? nonexistent
word count: 1780
- You and Sou had met during the Death Game and had grown closer during the second floor, having spent most of your time trying to help Kanna and, in return, spending more time with Hiyori.
- At first, your relationship had been rocky— you had all woken up in a strange place and tasked with trying to survive, he was rather stubborn and kept you often times at an arm’s length but, with enough work on your part fueled by stubbornness and a desire to get to know the teal-haired man, you soon were able to get to know him better.
- Out of everyone in the game Hiyori and you were the closest, and Kanna of course too, and as much as Sou might’ve wished it didn’t happen, your relationship soon took a romantic turn. He still had moments of doubt, and a selfish part of him wishes he never cared about you, growing to care about anyone in a situation like this wasn’t smart, but he did.
- You were determined to find a way out, much like him, and were willing to pour your all into finding a way to escape the facility and Sou admired that about you, and so he decided he’d work hard to find a way for you two to escape no matter what.
- With both of your missions set out, it wasn’t surprising to say you both weren’t taking care of yourselves much; work, work, and more work needed to be done to find a way to escape and figure this whole thing out.
- Sou was good with computers and, much to his surprise, so were you; so both of you ended up dividing the work between each other. You’d normally work with the monitors near the price exchange stand while your boyfriend would spend most of his time in his room with Kai’s laptop.
- Your work felt endless, lines of code and numbers and letters; all becoming more jumbled as your eyes grew tired but you couldn’t give up; not only was your survival on the line but also of the ones you’d grown to care for, especially Kanna and Sou.
- You had spent hours typing away on the monitors trying to trace back a starting point or figuring out how to access them without having to spend any chips (much to the receptionist doll’s amusement). You knew you probably weren’t making much progress if he hadn’t gotten mad at you yet and that only grew to frustrate you more.
- Your fingers hurt from typing and clicking away in the small, cramped keyboard you’d found in the ruble— the fact Kai didn’t have an AI either only frustrated you more, if he’d had one maybe you could’ve learned more from him. You could only hope his AI was somewhere within the code, if he even had one.
- Determined to crack the code, you simply take the worn down laptop you’d been using and leave; no one had made a move to stop you, the floor master clearly didn’t care enough if you took it with you to bed. And so you do.
- It was getting late, Sou noted as he looked at the clock that hung from the gray walls in his room. You should’ve come by hours ago telling him about what you’d found— that’s what you’d always done at least.
- At the realization you weren’t coming, the teal-eyed man grew slightly concerned, maybe you had found out something Gashu or Ranger didn’t want you to and- no way, if he had come this far then you surely could too… right?
- He doesn’t realize he’s standing up and making his way to your room until he’s knocking on the door.
- He hears a grunt from the other side and takes it as a yes. He knew you well enough to know what you were doing but it still took him by surprise to see your hunched over figure typing away in the small, old laptop you’d found in the monitor room.
- He furrowed his eyebrows but didn’t move from his spot in the doorframe. He stared at your concentrated face and wondered if you’d always had this work ethic or if you were just worried about leaving the facility, were you a good worker before? He thinks of the past for a moment and feels his chest squeeze, if there was one good thing about this hellhole it was having met you, he thinks to himself.
- But still, the thought of a past where suffering wasn’t even imaginable has him wondering how your lives would’ve been, would you two have met? Could you two have been coworkers? Would everything align to make you lovers like it had now?
- At the thought, Sou found himself growing uncharacteristically soft. In the short time you two had been together you never really did anything, well, couple-y at all, due to the circumstances it wasn’t a shocker but he wanted to try changing that… he wanted to try being more affectionate with you.
- You still hadn’t noticed him standing in your door, so he decides to approach you. Quietly making his way near your desk, he places a hand in your shoulder and gives it a squeeze earning a shocked gasp and jump from you.
- “You should go to bed.” Sou mumbles to you from beneath his scarf.
- “Ah, Sou… you scared me!” You laugh off his comment, “I’m working right now but once I’m done I’ll go to sleep, don’t worry.”
- “It’s late, you shouldn’t even be thinking about coding right now.” He insists, if he was correct you’d been working on the laptop for 9 hours straight- as much as he admired your determination you needed to rest.
- You don’t even answer him back this time, busy typing away and scrolling through the seemingly endless rows of numbers and your boyfriend sighs and sits on the edge of your bed. If you continued like this you’d end up knocking yourself out- at least like this you’ll have someone to catch you.
- You don’t give his actions much thought; if he wanted to sit down and you type away on the computer then so be it; as long as he didn’t bother you. But bother he did, if there was one thing Sou could pride himself in other than his computer skills it was how annoying he could be if he really wanted to.
- “[Name]”, he groaned, “come to bed, just seeing you so busy gets me tired. Let’s cuddle, eh?”
- He wasn’t the most affectionate of all guys, you both knew that, it’s not that he didn’t want to be physically close with you but rather… he just didn’t feel like it. Maybe if he tempted you with hugs you’d be shocked and say yes?
- “Mhm, just a sec.” You don’t even look behind you when you speak, much to his dismay.
- “Come on! Don’t you want to be close with your boyfriend? It’ll be our first time sharing a bed! We’ll be close- you could be the small spoon or the big spoon I don’t care!”
- “Sou, please- I love you, but can you please just shut up for a second?”
- “Don’t be so cold!” He groaned, “Don’t you just want to, ya’ know~, spend some time with your boyfriend!”
- “I am spending time with you… now please just be quiet.”
- Sou was starting to get on your nerves with his endless chatter, so in return- you continued typing (quite aggressively).
- He went on for almost an hour, offering you hugs and kisses- basically anything as long as you stopped working and just went to bed. The more he tried convincing you with offers the more needy he grew, damn; he really, really wanted to cuddle you to sleep right now.
- You looked tired, your posture only worsening. Enough is enough, Hiyori thought, so he stood up and walked behind you and tapped your shoulder to get your attention.
- “Sou, I told you-!”
- Your words are cut short by him closing the laptop and grabbing your hand, leading you to bed with him.
- “Stop complaining, you’re going to work yourself to the bone.” He mutters, “and honestly? I don’t feel like dating a skeleton.”
- “Tch! Just let me finish this-!”
- “You said that like half an hour ago.” He says, he looks at you with worried eyes and you halt, “Don’t you know how late it is?” You look at the clock in your room; 2AM. You’d been working nonstop since midday…
- “Take your shoes off, we’re going to sleep- now.” He instructed you and you obliged, slowly blinking trying to adjust to the less intense light from the room as you slip off your shoes and get ready for bed.
- It was late… and your bed was looking more and more appealing. You finished taking your socks off and glance at your laptop. Once you’re done, you look down to meet teal-eyes looking at you expectantly. He pats the mattress, motioning you to lay beside him and, once again, you do. You’d scold him about shutting the laptop tomorrow… geez, had you been this tired a few minutes ago.
- A yawn escapes your mouth and Sou laughs; “I told you- you were tired.”
- He throws an arm around you, pulling you closer to him. Your face is pulled near his chest and he holds you like that for a while.
- You both say nothing as you rest, your head above his heart allowed you to be lulled into an even deeper rest. His hands rest on your back, his finger drumming as if he was typing away and you smile at the nonsensical rhythm.
- “You know, I didn’t really think cuddling with you would be this nice.” He comments, breaking the silence and earning a shove from you.
- “Screw you, Hiyori.” You laugh, “You're not so bad yourself.”
- The room is dark, the lights off, only your breaths can be heard. You take off his beanie, he only grumbles in response, so you could run your fingers through his hair.
- He giggles slightly, earning a tired smile from you. You wonder how different your relationship would be outside of the death game. There were times you forget you’re in constant danger, in moments like these- where you’re alone and calm, with Sou, it’s so easy to let your guard down, to forget about the severity of it all. You yawn once more, damn; you were tired.
- “You can sleep,” Sou mumbles, his voice rough with fatigue, “‘m gonna… sleep too”
- “Good night, Sou,” you peck his cheeks and, even in the dark light, you can see a slight blush glowing from his cheeks.
