# Ask Bujo Studblrs Hi there sorry if this seems like a very lengthy ask, but i really want to start a bullet journal and i love the design of yours! because i am a perfectionist i am really debating how i'm going to lay out my weekly and monthly spread. do you change the layout of yours every week and how do you choose what colours to use: do they differentiate each week or month or are they random? thanks again so much, any advice would be greatly appreciated. keep up the good work!
Hello! Thank you for expressing interest in my bujo process! I haven’t for the life of me pinned down that process, but it goes more or less like this:
sit down and look for inspiration (takes about 30 minutes);
survey available resources and decide on the color scheme partially based on those resources (some weeks I get new pens and would love to try those, some weeks I get stickers that I must put in my bujo, etc.);
set out to do my bujo inspired by the design I chose using the materials I have;
fail at what I set out to do, decide to just ~wing it~ by adding doodles and calligraphy;
hope for the best.
In short, I change the layout of my weekly spread each week, depending on three things, namely, my mood, inspiration, and available materials.
Next year, I would like to change that, and make each month look more like “one month altogether”. Still don’t know how I’ll do that, but I might start with the same palette and build from there. For example, January will feature coral/peach colors and flower bouquets; February will be green, with lots of ferns, etc etc etc.
Ahhh this was such a long reply, and I hope it made sense ;_;
