Unfortunately just had the devastating realization that Hetalia was the beginning of my leftist journey
#middle school me discovered Hetalia thought it was soooo funny#and to be fair I only had mildly conservative views because while yes my family is conservative#this was also a time when moderate conservatives would not talk about politics with their family#Anyways Anyways#thought Hetalia was sooo funny and then discovered Tumblr while looking for free ways to watch it#and you know tumblr is tumblr#but also in 2012 their was a more significant discourse between the conservatives on this site and the not conservatives#so I could’ve totally been down a weird tumblr right wing pipeline#HOWEVER I discovered gay Hetalia fanfiction and decided being gay was cool actually#and thus.#we are here#read a lot of yaoi and now I believe in basic human rights what a world#thinking about that time my professor told me to write a memoir#what a chapter That Time Hetalia Made Me Gay#I mean anything that gets you there I guess#tbh I think I was already primed to eventually be chill#like even my brother the most stereotypical angry gamer bro#eventually got there#and now he’s not a stereotypical angry bro He’s My Brother
