from @micigirls - We aren’t called to fight our battles alone, in fact we aren’t called to fight our battles AT ALL. The Word reminds us time and time again that the battle, well it belongs to the Lord! That He will fight FOR us, we need only be still. I for one have at times taken my sword and wielded it at unseen enemies until I’ve collapsed exhausted from the fight. But the fight was never ours. The fight has always been between the enemy of our soul and the One who created it. And that battle was fought and won every day leading to Calvary and on the days that came thereafter. The Lord is our strength. And I can boldly declare, I AM STRONG IN THE LORD AND THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT. Repost @micimagazine There are those days when your world feels upside down, when it all feels too much - and you just want to throw your hands in the air or run and hide. Maybe you've been fighting a battle and you've grown a little battle weary ....? So today we just wanted to remind you that - it's gonna be ok. There are times we're called to fight and then there are times when being STILL is our act of warfare. The Word reminds us of it time and time again that the battle belongs to the Lord, the HE WILL FIGHT FOR YOU - you need only be still. I wonder can you relate today? I, for one, have at times taken my sword and wielded it at unseen enemies until I’ve collapsed exhausted from the fight. It was in that exhausted state that I came to realise in some of those circumstances ... the most courageous thing I could do is walk away, or remain silent, or even just STAND still and let the Lord step in and fight on my behalf. I know at times I've been so intent on fighting the situation or the people involved ... forgetting that the fight has always been between the enemy of our soul and the One who created it. AND that battle was fought and won every day leading to Calvary and on the days that came thereafter. So this is your personal reminder today that the Lord is your strength. He is our strong tower, our refuge and strength. You can boldly declare today, 'I AM STRONG IN THE LORD AND THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT.' Repost @ micimagazine Since March we've been wondering what 2020 would look like for MICI. Learning that our print issues could no longer be printed and delivered in the usual way, with border closures and increased shipping prices, longer waiting times and even customs delays and denials of parcel delivery - we knew the magazine was going to have to continue in new ways ... exactly what ways, at the time we just weren't sure. Digital looked obvious and it was always in our plan to digitise our issues but we LOVED printing and delivering hard copy magazines to you all (call us old fashioned, there's just something about holding a book or magazine in your hands right?) But to move forward we also knew that we had to make certain this kind of disruption couldn't happen into the future ... so here we are!! Launching into DIGITAL ONLY issues (at least for the foreseeable future). The same MICI design and style, just in a new digital delivery format. Though it does have those fancy flip pages, so it kinda makes you feel like you're curled up reading and flipping the pages of your favourite magazine (even if it is virtually) SO HERE IT IS. #Repost @andrearhowey One of my dearest and closest friends @janelleknox, founder of @micimagazine, lives on the other side of the world in Sydney, Australia (one of my fav places on earth). So when we realized she would have a brief layover in Dallas, we squeezed in a precious catch-up over coffee... it did my heart so much good, because first of all, anytime you get to visit face-to-face with your bestie, it's a good thing (even if you forgot to get a pic to document it!)... but also because Janelle has been one to deeply encourage and speak life and destiny over the purpose and call of God in my life over the years. And what's more, her voice and heart through @micimagazine is something special in our generation... if you haven't followed along, I encourage you to... she has been a pioneer in something beautiful God is doing in the world of Christian magazine publishing, and it just keeps getting more beautiful, prophetic, encouraging, and timely (plus, if you know a teen, check out @micigirls… or if you're in Russia, there's @micirussia! Hello!) I only share resources or people to follow that I deeply believe will be a blessing, encouragement, and difference-maker to others. So, I'm passing this along because I think you'll love it! Let me know what you think! And don't underestimate the significance *you* bring to the table. You never know but that a simple chat over coffee with someone has the power to stir up faith and boldness and courage to keep pressing on in doing the work of the ministry and making a Kingdom impact. From @micigirls - Let’s face it, there are times when we’re in ‘flow’ and we feel so incredibly confident and brave we could literally take on the world, but that isn’t most days. Most days, we pull ourselves out of bed and hustle from one thing to the next to keep the wheels turning. I wonder though, if you could take a step back for a day, or a moment if that’s all you have, just to marvel at yourself and all you’ve come through to date. If there is one thing I know, it’s that, if you’ve lived long enough, there are things we’ve had to overcome, things you’ve had to choose to rise up out of - in order to see the beauty amongst the ashes. Would you agree, most days we don’t feel brave. Days, we don’t want to have to be bold and courageous! Simply, we just want to make it through till dinner time! Can I get an AMEN? Here’s what I hope you’ll discover throughout this devotional; it’s not the label we’ve allowed to define us, OR the one perhaps we’ve even given ourselves, it’s what HE calls us that matters most.
