Some headcanons regarding Morgan’s birthday. Fair warning, most of them aren't pleasant. 

She does not celebrate her birthday unless forced or coerced to do so. 

Morgan’s mother died during childbirth on her birthday. As such, her father would always go above and beyond trying to make the day special for her throughout her childhood and adolescence as a way to distract himself from his grief. 

Her coven was attacked on her birthday during a gala her father was hosting in her honor. Many of her closest friends and relatives died during the onslaught (including her older brother, Michael, who would later be resurrected) but the memories of the MacVeigh Coven Massacre still plague her memories and dreams. 

When it gets closer and closer to her birthday, the dreams and the flashbacks get more vivid.  

She treats her birthday sort of like a personal memorial day. Instead of celebrating the day of her birth, she does what she can to grieve for the loss of the mother she never had and the friends and family she lost when her coven was attacked. 

She gets very depressed the month of her birthday and the weeks leading up to the day. 

When people who care about her try to get her to celebrate her birthday or try to do nice things for her birthday, she gets overcome with immense guilt because she doesn't want to disappoint them. It’s almost like she feels guilty when other people want her to be happy for her birthday but she can’t bring herself to, like her being unhappy is a slap in the face to those trying to make the day special for her. 

She blames herself for not being able to be happy on her birthday. 

Despite her feelings towards her birthday, she does try to do small special things for herself on her birthday every now and again like indulging in her favorite foods, going out for coffee, taking a bubble bath, just to make herself feel less like crap when her depression starts to really get to her. 

Depending on her mood that year, Michael either tries to make Morgan’s birthday a really awesome day by going the extra mile, or holding back if she asks him to or says that her heart isn’t in it. Still, he may buy a cake anyways or get her a card but he ALWAYS manages to get her a gift. Ever year. 

Michael is one of the only few people who have been able to get Morgan to enjoy her birthday because of their close bond as siblings.

Every time somebody tells Michael that "he looks like his father" it's a major trigger for him because it makes him angry that he's anything like his father but also sad because even after everything there is still some love there and it just forces him to think of feelings he would much rather keep buried underneath "a fifth of whiskey or a dimebag of coke".

One of my favorite things about Michael ever is because he grew up on an island where cars weren't allowed he knows absolutely 0% about cars and will not pretend to know he is so helpless when it finally comes around that he can drive he needs a strong motorhead gf to help him fix things he will sit idly by and hold the tools and sing show tunes while his girl does all the hard work. It's not on purpose either, he is just...very dumb. But also very smart. But also very dumb.

Morgan is absolutely a mix of Dorothy and Rose. Dorothy in the sense where they both have a quick with and a short temper, but they also care deeply for their loved ones, sometimes to a fault, putting everyone else first before themselves at times. Rose, because she can be kinda goofy and naive, especially when she's younger, but ultimately she means well despite being a little wacky sometimes.

Michael, it goes without saying, is very much Blanche coded. They both use sex as a coping mechanism for a lot of strife in their life, but they also enjoy it just to enjoy it and if over confidence was an Olympic sport? He and Blanche would both be tied for gold. Though, he kinda reminds me of Sophia at times, because he always has a good story, and will tell it to you even if you didn't ask. Plus, in his mind, he's getting too old for "this shit" and often says as much. What "this shit" is exactly? Eh, it varies day by day, honestly.

MICHAEL ~ For those of you who don't know, Michael is Morgan's older brother (haven't really decided on a proper age gap yet cause it fluctuates by verses) but he's about 6-7 years older than her.

He died and came back to life after being killed during the attack on Morgan's 18th birthday that was launched against their family coven by The Followers of the Black Mare (check my #canon tag for more info).

Since coming back to life the boy literally cannot die. And believe me he has tried multiple times. Death hates 'em, ladies love him. He doesn't know why he's been cursed with this affliction, but he knows his ancestors had something to do with it and that he's been tasked with keeping Morgan safe so long as he can't be killed seeing as how she's the last of their father's line.

I'll go into deeper detail about how this affects his psyche and his powers but being dead has given him advanced skills with necromancy and traveling between our world and the Otherworld (at least the plane where the unsettled spirits and temporarily dead reside)

👻 Halloween Muse Headcanons 🎃

Michael:

Michael stopped dressing up for Halloween as a kid after his mom died, roughly when he was about six years old.

It wasn't until around the age of thirteen/fourteen that he really was able to begin enjoying the holiday how the rest of the world did, and not his family of witches who practiced traditional pagan rituals during Samhain.

Michael's first ever Halloween costume was Batman (the very first gray, blue, and yellow costume).

He started watching horror films when he was ten years old. And would often watch ones he was not allowed to with friends or cousins on Halloween someplace away from all the prying eyes of parents.

His favorite Halloween gummy candies are Hot Tamales. His favorite chocolate Halloween candies are M&Ms.

Michael listens to a lot of bands like the Misfits and Alice Cooper around this time of year. He has an entire Spotify playlist dedicated to Spooky pop & rock.

Pumpkin carving is Michael's favorite part of Halloween. He likes to do very elaborate (sometimes comical) designs and get as messy as he can.

He is very much a pumpkin spice girlie. 💅

His favorite spooky movie is Scream.

Michael hates mulled wine & candy corn.

He has a crush on Neve Campbell.

His sister's cooking & baking reminds him of his mother. He loves pigging out on Morgan's food around this time of year.

He saw Halloween (1978) when he was ten. It was also the first time he ever saw boobs in a movie.

Morgan:

Morgan is absolutely that kinda witch who will go into a long info dumping rant about the history of Samhain and it's traditional practices.

To this day, while Morgan still celebrates the "fun" aspects of Halloween, because of her intense connection to the other side of the veil, she still adheres to the traditional Samhain practices she was raised on by her family more than her brother.

Morgan knows how to cook and bake from her aunts and old family recipes. Starting in October, Morgan will bake all sorts of traditional Fall home cooked meals, Halloween cookies, cakes, cupcakes, breads, stews, and so on.

Her favorite thing to bake around this time of year is a good pumpkin pie. Michael always takes more pieces than he's allowed.

Morgan almost always dresses up in "cute" or dorky costumes but never "sexy" costumes; princesses, she's dressed up as a lady bug before, Little Red Riding Hood, adorable vampires, comic book superheroes, Disney princesses, and so forth.

Her first ever costume was Minnie Mouse when she was three.

Her favorite Halloween treat is hot apple ciders.

Morgan loves candy corn.

Morgan hates religious horror movies because sometimes they are too realistic and hit too close to home for her.

There are certain horror movies Morgan will not watch or is not interested in, mainly some of the older ones which involve a lot of sex-crazed teenagers getting slaughtered like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm St., or Friday the 13th. She will sit through them if she's with friends or at a party, but other than that she hardly watches them on her own time.

Morgan enjoys/prefers arthouse horror movies like ones from A24 or old black and white classic horror films like the monster flicks from Warner Brothers.

Morgan's favorite Halloween movie is Halloweentown.

Piggybacking off of this but I've said it once and I'll say it again if y'all have any female muses who you think are overlooked or want ships for Michael is my guy. He acts all cool and calm on the outside but he's a giant sofite and hopeless romantic on the inside but is down for casual stuff too. Here for a good time not a long time kinda guy. Will definitely treet your female muses like a queen and I think it's mostly because he was predominantly raised by the women in his family/coven.

He's not soley here for shipping but at the same time the first sign I see of someone's female muses maybe not beting treated the best he's in my head like: she needs flowers and chocolates and a night out on the town like stat.
