SPIRITLESS! This was suppose to be a heart felt and touching movie, but it was far from that. About a dog that helped US Marines in Afghanistan returns to the U.S. and is adopted by his handler's family after suffering a traumatic experience. This had all the makings of a really sweet and tender movie, but everything about this movie was actually a long bore fest. The good part: which wasn't much, were the scenes where they were in Afghanistan during the war, and that was the better part of the first 15 minutes of the movie. The acting was just that...ACTING! It was almost as if they were sluggishly reading there lines with no emotions that was believable and the dog chances and fights. The chemistry or lack thereof was none with the actors, portraying family or friends. The dog playing 'Max' I didn't really care much for majority of the movie and the friends, especially the one playing 'Chuy', I just wanted to punch his lights out and the one playing 'Carmen', seems like she was just added out of the blue, didn't really have much relevance. The actor portraying 'Justin', the younger brother of the fallen soldier, just seem like he was in the wrong movie. Lauren Graham and Thomas Hayden Church, could've done so much better that this movie. Most movies about dogs usually always find the core of its audience and have them make some type of attachment, but this movie fail on that attempt. There were at times when this movie seem to be trying to find its footing, but couldn't, just seem to be all over the place. Truly 👎🏾 NOT WORTH IT 👎🏾 the energy. BEST FRIEND. HERO.
