summary: Mia gets insecure when Stormfront joins the Seven. Logically, her solution to get over it is to ride Homelander during a Seven meeting. Written for Cozy Corner Kinktober prompts role reversal + exhibitionism
(18+, riding, jealousy, exhibitionism, rare me writing bottom & sublander)
wc: 959
author’s note: a very normal couple who works out their problems in a very normal way
Mia wasn’t usually a jealous person.
She couldn’t really afford to be, not when her boyfriend was the most famous man in America. Millions of fans wanting to be with him and countless fanfictions written on Tumblr (for her own sanity, she finally had to delete that Godforsaken app after over half a decade of use).
It was unfair, in a way. Homelander could kill anyone who - in his opinion, anyways - gave her a flirtatious look (which more often than not was nothing but a friendly smile) and she would have to live with that guilt forever, but she couldn’t even glare at his fans that tried to get a little too close to him. Not that Homelander ever let her out in the public eye that much to begin with anyways - for her own safety, he had told her. She had given up trying to argue with him on that a long time ago.
But it was fine. She didn’t have to see anything unless it was on TV or something. At least at Vought nobody tried to get handsy with him.
Until Stan Edgar decided to recruit her.
Why Edgar thought recruiting Stormfront to join the Seven was a good idea, Mia would never know. She didn’t really care to know either. All she knew was that she hated the way she looked at Homelander. Like she’d devour him if given the chance.
Mia didn’t even know why she’s so insecure. Why when Stormfront was around, she leaned into Homelander’s side a bit more, ramped up the PDA between them that definitely went beyond what was allowed (but it’s not like HR would ever dare tell to Homelander that he wasn’t allowed to touch his girlfriend however he wanted whenever or wherever he wanted).
And Homelander had made it more than clear that he didn’t like Stormfront in any capacity - not even as a coworker or teammate.
When Mia had spoken with him about it and anxiously played with her ring, looking like she was unsure whether to believe him or not, Homelander had done his best to reassure her that she had nothing to worry about by fucking her from sunset to the sunrise and making her come more times than she could count.
But still, a voice inside her head argued, Stormfront’s a supe. You're just a regular, normal human woman. Nothing special. Wouldn’t it make sense for a God to want someone more on his level? You’re expendable.
Insecurities and the things she would do to overcome said insecurities are funny, in a twisted way. She could handle the kisses on the mouth, Homelander subtly grabbing her ass at some stupid Vought party they were forced to attend, and she had stopped bothering to try to hide the hickeys that Homelander littered on her neck. But she had always drawn the line when he wanted her to actually fuck somewhere in front of other people.
And yet, here she was this morning, shamelessly riding him during the typical Seven meeting. A-Train and Starlight both stared either at the table or at the wall like they wanted to be anywhere else, Maeve was more annoyed than anything, Black Noir just sat there, the Deep was thankfully away in Ohio, and Stormfront

Stormfront tried to look unbothered, but Mia could see the way her eye twitched whenever she glanced at the two of them.
Mia greedily kissed Homelander as she moved her hips against his. Homelander kissed back with just as much desperation, only pulling back to allow Mia a breath of air, a trail of salvia connecting them. She heard A-Train mumbled a “gross”, which caused Homelander to snap at the members of the Seven to mind their own fucking business and to continue the meeting.
He gripped Mia’s hips (no doubt accidentally leaving a new set of bruises in the shape of his hand on her delicate skin) as he moaned needily.
“Fuck,” he groaned, leaning his head back against his chair. Mia wasn’t usually on top of in charge when they had sex - and she preferred it that way, truth be told - but when she was, he was so needy. All for her - just her. “Fuck!”
In the moment, Mia wasn’t sure why she ever felt insecure. Homelander had said it before - they were made for each other. Two needy, desperate individuals who just wanted to be loved. And despite everything Homelander had done, Mia never left him. She still loved him. And he loved her, the best way he could.
“Come on, babe,” she murmured in his ear, nipping it playfully, and then pulled back to look him in the eyes, “I love you.”
That did it for him.
Homelander moaned as he spilled inside her, his face buried in the crook of her neck. Mia panted, stroking his hair. She got him to thrust upwards a few more times, getting her to orgasm as well.
“...love you too
” he murmured.
Mia smiled, kissing the top of his head. She looked to the side at Stormfront who was barely concealing a glare in their direction. Mia gave her a smile far too sweet to be genuine.
Mia removed herself from her straddling position on Homelander, who whined at the absence of her warmth. She just turned herself around so she was sitting on his lap, facing the table and grabbing her tablet that had her notes she usually took during the meetings on it. Homelander wrapped his arms around her waist, nuzzling his cheek against hers.
“So
” she said nonchalantly, making herself comfortable in Homelander’s lap and arms, “what were we talking about?”

“Do you have the report?” MAYLIN’s voice echoes through the hall as her and JINX approach the head office. The moon shines through the large windows, illuminating their silhouettes.
“Just sent it to your device.” JINX responds, a ding following moments later.
“So, most of them took the offer?” MAYLIN hums, scrolling through her watch before sighing. “Are we doing the right thing?”
“Not like you to doubt yourself out loud like this.” JINX replies.
The door to Maylin’s office opens easily, the two women stepping inside. JINX taps a panel on the wall and the privacy curtains are dropped. MAYLIN crosses over to the windows behind her desk. She stands, facing the outside with her hands clasped behind her back. JINX takes a seat in one of the chairs on the other side of the desk.
“After losing half the agency to kaiser, learning of the destruction of GHA. I can’t help but wonder if what we are doing is futile.” MAYLIN says. Her back stays to JINX, observing the crumbling outside world. “We failed at the fall of Seaside, we failed again with this last mission. Our numbers drop more every day. Is this humanity strong enough to make it?”
JINX doesn’t respond. Her eyes watch MAYLIN before she taps her wrist and pulls up her holographic desk. A swipe of her hand has agent profiles appearing before her.
“Agent Jaguar, senior, killed defending team from an attack at the border of the agency gronds.” A photo of a smiling girl floats across the screen. JINX flicks her wrist and the profiles are circling wide around her. taking up a lot of the room as she stands in the middle of them.
“Agent Mantis, junior, and Agent Rocket, Senior, both killed during a building collapsing on a scouting mission.” JINX throws two profiles of boys with similar features across the room. Their matching frowns almost seem to deepen as the float around the hologram.
“Agent Spes, senior, killed by brother after turning and killing their sister.” Another profile joins the others. “Agent Mint, baby, Agent Clockwork, baby, Agent Birch, Junior, all three killed by Kaiser’s experiments.”
MAYLIN’s hands tense, white knuckled behind her back.
“Agent Candl--”
“Alright, I get it.”
“Do you?” JINX taps her screen and all the profiles flood the room like a blinding light show. The hover around the two head agents before she closes off her device. “Some of these agents died on missions we gave them, some of them died by other means. Regardless, though they are gone.”
“What point are you trying to make, Jinx?”
“Do we give up and let their deaths be in vain? Each of them fought to help humanity last even just one more day. They all wanted to be here, they all choose to lay their lives down for this.” JINX said, her tone firm. “Do we let their sacrifices be for nothing because you’re feeling a little hopeless? What about all the agents below us who have lost someone? Who are still fighting for a future their loved ones will never see?”
“I never said....” MAYLIN sighs, and finally turns to face JINX. “You’re right. If I lose hope then what will everyone else do?”
“You’re not alone in this either. I’ve followed you this far, I plan to follow you to the end. If that end is the death of us all, then so be it. But I’ll be damned if I don’t go down fighting.”
MAYLIN watches JINX for a moment then she smiles, dropping her head with a breathy laugh. “You’ve always been the more reckless of the two of us.”
“Of course.” JINX smiles, a feral look as she drops back into her chair. “So, boss, what are your orders?”
“Re-order the teams, begin preparation for travel.”
JINX’s grin grows.
“GHA will not have been crushed, but they will need aid. It’s about time we paid our sister agency a visit.” MAYLIN takes a seat at her desk, tapping the glass panel on the top of it and bringing up a map. “If it’s a war that Kaiser wants, then it’s a war we will give him.”
“Sounds like Lerissa will get to use her bazooka after all.” JINX’s laugh echoes around the room.

insoo's chest hurts and he can't differentiate between the stress of all of the new information he's learned recently and the stress he feels because he's heading to the head agents to request a meeting. his chest hurts on juwon's behalf, but that hurt is sequestered away in a box that he will deal with later. right now he needs to be objective as a team leader and senior agent, with a small side of juwon's friend.
he'd sent out an inquiry to the meia heads just to let them know he wanted to speak to whoever was available so he had no idea who would be in the meeting room when he arrived. it was easier to convince himself he wasn't overreacting when it was on someone else's behalf and not his own.
"thank you for meeting with me," he says as he enters the room. "i know we are busy with all that's going on so i appreciate you sparing a few minutes-- i'll try to keep this short." he waits for acknowledgment and remains standing by the table.
"i'm not one to question any of the decisions of the head agents, within reason, because i know you have your eyes set on the betterment of us all and our safety. i've had no reason to disagree with anything that's happened in my time here." he breathes in to cool his nerves and makes eye contact. "i want to ask, as agent phantom's previous leader, previous co-agent, and a friend, that you allow him a visitor outside of the head agents during this time."
"i know this is for a short amount of time-- but even one person, a senior or anyone else, even under supervision, even just for an hour-- please let him see someone for a small amount of time until we move."
"agent phantom is mourning; as you know, i brought him here to confess and vouch on his behalf, he chose to give up his identity willingly and i think that speaks on his willingness to at least in future be loyal to meia. i don't see danger in him having some of his support system during this time and frankly i think it would do the opposite to keep him away from them."
insoo tries not to fidget his hands, anxious to get out of the room and away from even the hint of confrontation. "thank you for letting me speak my piece..."
Maylin new to expect someone to approach her regarding Juwon. The decisions for this had not been easy. The timing was terrible and even thought she had suspected there to be a mole in the agency she had yet to pinpoint who. Perhaps she should have seen this though. Connected the dots on Juwon's disappearance and then reappearance. It would explain the strange incidents...
It also makes her wonder about another agent who has a similar pattern. But she won't make any moves regarding that agent yet. Not until it becomes necessary.
Back to the matter at hand, Maylin was not surprised to see Insoo come into her office. She knew someone would but it had been a gamble on who would arrive first. Of course, someone who has worked with Juwon a lot recently. A new senior who has taken to the role swimmingly.
" As you know a vital part of keeping this agency alive and thriving is listening to and taking to heart messages from all the agents." She begins, leaning back in her chair and keeping her eyes on the other. "Your words have been heard and I understand your concern."
She sighs, pushing up from her chair and walking towards the long windows on the east side of the room. The sky is tinged red as if to say look, youre in the endgame now. but she wasn't bothered by it.
"I want nothing more than to allow Agent Phantom to return to his team and active duty." Maylin says, her back to Insoo as she gazes outside. "But not only has he broken loyalty to the agency--he broke his position as a spy. So while he does need to deal with the consequences of his actions, we also wish to protect him from backlash with Kaiser."
She turns towards insoo, expression grave. "Do you understand? We have no information if there is another spy, or if he's being watched. Once it's been revealed that his cover is blown he could be in grave danger. Something we want to avoid with the move coming."
Her eyes soften for a second as she looks at the senior medic before she turns back to the window. "Juwon will stay in solitary confinement under the guise of rest and recovery after losing Agent Star. There is only a few more days till we head out."
A beat of silence passes before Maylin nods her head.
"But I will allow you to visit him. You and Agent Helios only. I do not want information of his current situation to be spread around, so you understand me?" She waits for a response. "Do not forget to finish helping pack and get your own supplies ready. We move out soon."
She waves her hand, the door to her office sliding open. "You're free to go."

UNLOCKING FILES........ KAISER........
They say a wolf in sheep's clothing will always reveal itself in due time. The wolf lies in weight until the most opportune moment and then–only then–will it strike. Sinking sharp fangs into the tender flesh of a poor unsuspecting sheep. A warm meal after long hours of hard work.
Seaside was the sheep to Kaiser's wolf.
He was young when Seaside agents brought him into the agency, found in the ruins of an old family home within the cities. A child who had set up traps around the home so well that even the senior agents had a hard time getting in. He had promise, even at a young age. So bright and eager to learn.
No one knows when he started to change. When the bright smiling boy turned into the teen with the charming smile, then the agent with the calming voice. He was a mystery from the day he was found and he died a mystery.
Anyone who worked with Kaiser remembered the smooth way he would speak as if his tongue was laced with silver and their language was made to leave his lips. His eyes would never hold any warmth but it wasn’t noticed past his charming smile. the one that formed dimples in his cheeks and made anyone around smile along.
At seventeen he joined the ranks, at 19 he became the first special case to become a junior agent in the science field. At 22 he was a senior. A top tech agent who specializes in working with the serums that MEIA still uses to this day. He created the memory serums, he tweaked the health serums, and he fixed the anti demon serum.
“A visionary“ They used to call him.
Little did they know, he did have a vison.
When did it change? When did he go from the idol of the tech wing to the ghost of the labs? Someone whispered about in the hallways only for the gossipers to scatter like bugs when he rounds the corner. Kaiser became a myth in the agency. Rumors of his secret labs, and his late night activities began to surface. People began to avoid him in other areas of the agency until he was no longer seen in those parts. The handsome face was lost to the workrooms of the labs.
Some say he had issues with the head agent of the science department. Some say he had problems with his marriage. Others believed he was experimenting on himself and it was affecting his mind. Nothing was concrete.
Until the uprising.
Agents who worked in the labs had developed a bond with the cryptic agent. His calm words, and clear explanations had softened them to him. His goals had reached their hearts. He had them all under his spell, and they fought for him. They died for him. They never truly understood who he was. What he did in the cover of the night. For he was always too untrusting to let anyone that close.
To this day no one has any idea where his secret labs are. Only that they exist.
To this day, the rumors exist.
The myth of the evil tech agent sneaking through the halls to snatch unsuspecting agents and use them in his labs for experiments.
The image of the handsome, smooth talking agent has been lost to his fall into madness.
or was he always mad.

first meetings (part two)
homelander x oc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: Homelander makes it his goal to find out all he can about his newest obsession. part one
(stalking, obsessive behavior, breaking and entering, homelander being an overall weirdo)
Homelander could not get her out of his mind.
At first he thought it would be nothing more than a fleeting feeling. It hadn’t been too long since Maeve and his little
breakup and seeing another redhead woman - one so innocent and beautiful at that - was bound to stir up some complicated feelings inside him.
And she was just an intern. A college one at that. She was probably just meant to be here for the summer - a year tops. He could call her into his office, do whatever he fucking pleased with her (hell, with the way she was talking in the elevator and the fact he could smell her arousal she would probably like it. Maybe even beg for it), and discard her as nothing more than a rebound he’d forget about as quickly as she came into his life. Worst case scenario, Vought would pay her off to keep her mouth shut. Everybody wins.
But that thought felt so wrong.
The way she had looked at him so reverently
like he was a God - not just some gift from God that those Christian fans Vought always appealed to thought he was. No, it was like he was a real, actual God to her.
The idea of using her as nothing but a good fuck made him feel uncharacteristically unholy. She seemed far too precious to waste just like that.
Mia, she had said her name was.
He knew that in Italian, Mia meant “mine” - maybe it was a sign that she really was meant to be his.
He wanted - no, needed - to know more about her. It had only been a few days since they had met in that elevator, but he already knew he wanted her to be his completely.
So, his next logical step, of course, was to go threaten Ashley to give him all the information she had on her.
Ashley didn’t dare protest.
There was the most basic information he already had, of course - her full name and the fact she was a college student heading into her senior year.
He found out her birthday was February 1st and that her parents were Irish immigrants who moved to the United States when her mother was still pregnant with her and she grew up in some small, rural town in Virginia that he had never heard of before. The oldest child and only daughter with two younger brothers. Raised Catholic, but was no longer religiously affiliated.
She was poor, barely able to pay her rent and keep herself fed, but she was on a full scholarship at New York University with a 4.0 GPA.
From the file Vought had on her, he was also able to obtain her medical history, address, social security number, and social media accounts.
Basically, every personal detail that he could possibly want on a person

except for the fact that the information didn’t actually tell him about her as a person. Her hopes and dreams
 deepest darkest secrets
 what turned her on

He quickly shook it off. He would have plenty of time to ask her those things personally. For now, having her address was enough for him.
~
Standing in her apartment made him angry on her behalf. It was a small apartment in a shitty neighborhood with a living room and kitchen room as one room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. In the month she had been working at Vought, the times where he had strategically ran into her, she always seemed so happy and carefree. He would have understood it if it was only around him, but it seemed to be just her general mood. There was an obvious sadness she always carried with her, but she didn’t seem to be upset about her living situation. He didn’t fucking get it.
But from what he had deducted, she didn’t seem to be on the greatest terms with her family. Maybe she was just glad to be away from them?
Deciding to go through each room and starting with the kitchen, there was barely any food in her cupboards. Some bread, peanut butter, cup of noodles, and a few boxes of macaroni and cheese. The fridge had some water bottles and cans of Dr. Pepper. She also had half a gallon of chocolate milk, which wasn’t his preference, but it was better than no milk, he supposed.
Looking in her freezer, he saw she only had
dinosaur chicken nuggets? Oh, what the fuck? This was her diet? Part of him just wanted to wait in her apartment until she came back home and then throw over his shoulder and take her back to his penthouse where he could properly take care of her. No more of whatever
 this living was.
He took a deep breath, forcing that thought away for the moment. All in due time.
Moving onto her living room, there wasn’t really that much there: a small TV with an outdated gaming console, couch, chair, and coffee table. The most interesting thing was the bookshelf in the corner. Mostly just history and legal books. The bottom shelf caught his eyes. A stack of comic books following his and the Seven’s adventures. The comics themselves were laughable, but it was nonetheless endearing to him that she had something with him in it.
Though, he was slightly disappointed that she didn’t have a poster of him in her room when he walked her. But her room didn’t exactly have the most homely feeling to it either. Her bed looked like it hadn’t been made in weeks and he saw that the clothes she was wearing yesterday just thrown carelessly on the floor.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose with a sigh before sliding open her closet door.
One side of the closet had random graphic design t-shirts, most of which he had no idea what the fuck they meant. The other half had the clothes he had grown accustomed to seeing her wear at work, the colors mostly ranging from different shades of pink, red, purple, blue, and green.
While she looked good in anything she sure, he really liked seeing her red (even if some shades might not contrast too well against her hair). One time she had worn a red dress and he easily noticed it had really complimented his suit.
He moved away from the closet, awkwardly sitting on her bed, and looking around the small room again. There were a few pill bottles on her nightstand, some prescribed, some over-the-counter. Anti-depressants, birth control, pain relief.
He noticed a photograph on it as well and when he grabbed it to get a better look, he frowned. She looked a few years younger, but it was a photo of Mia with some guy, arms wrapped around each other's shoulders. His lips twitched and he quickly set the back photo down as he felt the frame start to crack under his grip.
He could give her such a better life than what she currently had. She wouldn’t need anyone besides him.
He will give her a better life, he thought as he walked out of her apartment, the door shaking behind him as he closed it with a bit too much force.
~
“I want an assistant,” Homelander said as he walked into Madelyn’s office without so much as knocking.
Madelyn looked more annoyed than anything at him barging into her office unannounced. Though seeing the determination in his eyes, she didn’t comment on it.
“Alright,” Madelyn agreed, “I’m guessing you have someone in mind, then?”
Homelander nodded.
“Give me their name. I’ll have Vought do a full background check and medical history. Make sure that there’s nothing
 jeopardizing on their social medias-“
“Already been done.”
He tossed Mia’s file on her desk. Madelyn looked skeptical as she opened it, reading through it.
“
one of our summer interns?” She asked. She leaned back into her chair, raising an eyebrow, but there was some amusement in her eyes. “Since when do you pay attention to college aged girls?”
Since you decided that fertility treatments and having a baby was more important than me, he thought bitterly.
He kept that thought to himself, though, and simply shrugged with a smile.
He wouldn’t have to worry about being ignores by Madelyn for her stupid fertility treatments again.
Mia wouldn’t ignore him, wouldn’t reject him.
Madelyn sighed again.
“Fine
fine, I’ll sign off on it.”
Homelander stared at her, clearly not willing to leave until he saw her sign it.
Madelyn, taking the hint, grabbed her glasses off her desk and went through Mia’s file once more. Tucked neatly behind the stapled papers was a sheet for Mia’s
promotion to be Homelander’s PA. Madelyn signed it gracefully and handed it back to Homelander.
“Give the girl my congratulations,” Madelyn said as she turned back to her computer, though she didn’t sound particularly excited or interested.
Homelander didn’t even care, smiling like a little kid as he exited her office. As he had done countless times in the three months Mia had been, he used his X-ray vision to look through the building’s many floors until he found her.
~
Mia was so lost in typing something on that tablet she always seemed to carry with her, she didn’t even notice Homelander approaching her until she bumped into him.
“Fuck-“ when he grabbed her shoulders to steady her, that’s when she seemed to realized it was him that she had ran into. He smiled at her. “Oh, Homelander, sir! God, I’m sorry, I guess I was too distracted trying to finish up my last report for Ashley, aha,” she rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. “I can’t believe it’s my last day already. Summer really flew by.”
There was a clear hint of disappointment in her voice and eyes. She was in for a real treat. He could barely contain himself.
But not here in hallway. No, it was way too
impersonal. Besides, she really should be sitting down for the news.
“I actually wanted to talk to you about that,” he walked towards the elevator, gesturing for her to follow him, “come to my office?”
Mia stared at him, her lips slightly parted before she pulled herself together and joined him in the elevator. She watched him push the 99th floor button, looking like she didn’t believe that this was really happening.
The ride up was quiet, the two of them both stealing glances at each other, though never at the same time.
Once they reached the floor, he led her to his office, her following behind him like an eager puppy. She was so adorable.
Once she was inside and seated, he closed the door, not wanting any interruptions.
He walked over in front of her and leaned back on his desk, smiling widely.
“I wanted to be the first to offer you my congratulations.”
“Oh?”
“On your promotion,” he grinned, “you, my dear, have been promoted to be my personal assistant.”
He half-expected her to start swooning. At least give some words of gratitude.
Instead, she just stared at him like a deer in headlights.
“
well?” he prompted, trying to bite back the impatience he felt building.
There was a hint of something unfamiliar in his chest as he waited for her answer. He was nervous. Anxious (terrified, even) that she was about to reject him.
She wouldn’t. Surely, she, of all people, wouldn’t.
“S-sorry,” she blinked, clearly trying to gather her bearings. She clasped her hands together in her lap. “Umm
Thank you. Really. It’s an honor you would even think of hiring me beyond some summer internship in any capacity here at Vought. Especially as your own personal assistant .” He dreaded the “but” he felt coming. “
 but I do
I do have college starting up again in a few weeks. Again, I appreciate the offer! I just
I don’t think I’m the best person for the job. Not when I can't put my full focus into it, you know,”
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes, but also felt some tension leave his body. He wasn’t the problem. After the moment of relief back, it went back to annoyance.
Really? That was the problem? College?
He knew she was an ambitious woman, trying to work her way up in the world. But really, what could possibly be a more ambitious goal than working for him? The strongest and greatest supe in the country- no, in the entire world.
It was the opportunity of a lifetime!
“Don’t worry about it,” he reassured her, “We can work around your class schedule until you graduate.”
“But-“
“I don’t mind. Really,” he said, leaning in close to her, “I just
I think you would be a perfect fit for this, Mia.” His hand twitched, wanting to push back a stray piece of hair that had fallen in her face “There’s nobody else I would even consider for this position.”
Mia avoided his gaze, looking down at her ring. She tugged it a few times before she nodded, looking back up at him. “
alright.” She agreed.
Homelander grinned, reaching out and gently squeezing her shoulder. Her body temperature immediately went up at the contact.
“That’s the spirit!” he finally gave into the temptation, pushing the hair out of her face. “I already got all the paperwork done. All you have to do is show up on Monday.” Anddddd everyday after that for the rest of her life.
”Yeah. Yeah, totally. Sounds great
boss,” there was a teasing tone in her voice, though. But there was a hint of hesitation in her eyes. As if she didn’t know if she was allowed to joke around with him.
To ease her anxiety, he laughed and her shoulder visibly dropped.
“Nope, nuh-uh, you are not just calling me ‘boss’. Or sir anymore, either,” he told her, “just Homelander, alright?” Part of him wanted to tell her to call him John right then and there. He knew he wouldn’t regret sharing it with her, but it felt so intimate. He didn’t want to scare her off.
Mia bit her lip and nodded.
”C’mon, Mia. Say it. No “Mr.” or “sir” attached. Just
 Homelander.”
”Homelander,” she whispered, staring into his eyes with her own doe-like ones.
He had never wanted to kiss someone so badly.
“‘Atta girl,” he praised, twirling one of her curls around his index finger. His girl.
“I’ll see you Monday, then,” he said, reluctantly allowing the piece of hair to fall back into place. He walked around his desk as Mia stood up and started to walk out of his office. “Oh, and Mia?”
”Yes?” she turned around.
”Wear something red.”

homelander x oc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: Homelander can’t wait until the morning to see his newest assistant/girlfriend and wakes her up in the middle of the night. Mia’s still adjusting to dating the supe.
(obsessive and possessive behaviors, codependency, boss/employee relationship, age gap, creepy softlander)
wc: 1.1k
author’s notes: wanna post my homelander/oc fics on here too though they won’t necessarily be in order 😓
“Mia.”
Mia stared at her bedroom ceiling, holding back a sigh as she heard Homelander‘s voice followed by several insistent knocks on her door.
This was starting to happen far too often for her liking. She loved the supe. Really, she did. But it was like he was taking over every single minute of her life. Including the moments she should be sleeping.
Her promotion as his personal assistant had been great at first. A huge pay raise from some summer internship and she got personally picked by the strongest and most famous man in the world. A god, basically. Who wouldn’t be honored?
But then he started having her work outside her work hours. Instead of just eight hours from 9-5, he’d sometimes have her work until nearly midnight. He had never once apologized for it either. But he was always so kind to her, she couldn’t say no. (Not to mention she had seen how he had gotten with other Vought employees before. She really didn’t want to be on the receiving end of his anger. Though, he never showed a hint of ever being irritated at her, even when she messed something up. She usually was the one he ended up venting all his frustrations out to. Cuddling up to her on the couch, complaining about all the ways someone had wronged him that day.)
Which eventually led them into their
romantic relationship (she still questioned if this was an actual ethical workplace relationship
she’s pretty sure the answer was “no”, but it’s not like HR was going to tell the Homelander that). While she had been crushing on Homelander since she was in high school (which only served to remind her of the fact he was more than 15 years older than her) and was more than flattered when he asked her out, she was beginning to realize that his feelings may have been more of an obsession rather than the more gentle feelings often associated with love. After everything he had told her about his childhood, it made sense he probably couldn’t love the same way most people did. She could put up with his codependency, obsessiveness, and possessive nature to a certain degree, but sometimes it was just too much.
“Mia, c’mon
 I know you’re awake. Just
get up and open the door
 please?”
She almost laughed at how the “please” was an afterthought. Maybe her manners were finally starting to rub off on him? Or he was just down extremely bad for her?
But she finally got out of bed, heading to the door. She glanced at herself in the hallway mirror. She had on long pajama pants, but her top was a tank top that showed her chest off. A lot. It’s not like Homelander hadn’t seen her in less before, but she was too tired to deal with him trying to fuck her tonight.
She unlocked the door, and Homelander quickly opened it the rest of the way, letting himself into her apartment. He closed the door behind him and locked it before staring at her for a second. She raised an eyebrow.
He pulled her against him, burying his face in her shoulder despite having to awkwardly crouch down to do so, towering over her.
“I missed you
” he mumbled, holding her close to him.
She sighed, wrapping her arms around him as well.
“You just saw me a few hours ago
” she mumbled tiredly, then spared a glance at the clock hanging on the wall. It was a little past 3 am. Creepy. “You couldn’t wait 5 more hours? You know, I always get to work early to see you, but you could’ve texted me at like 6:00 or something and I could've come in at 7:00.”
“Too long,” he pouted, sniffing her hair before pulling back to look at her, his hands resting on her upper arms.
“John
” she shook her head in a scolding, but playful manner, but she didn’t miss the way his eyes lit up slightly when she said his name. “
wanna come to my room?” she asked.
He nodded eagerly, his arm going to wrap around her waist as he started leading them to her bedroom as if lived here and owned the place.
“Nothing inappropriate tonight,” she told him seriously, but kept her voice as lighthearted as she could as she sat down on the edge of her bed, looking at him expectantly.
“Darling, what kind of a man do you take me for?” he asked with a teasing smirk as he removed his gloves and placed them on her nightstand, then took off his boots.
She just hummed, laying down, and opening the covers for him. She really preferred to not think about the type of man he was. The type of man she let into her life and heart.
He laid down next to her and pulled her close to him, resting his head on her chest with a content sigh. She started running her fingers through his hair, something she had learned he liked even before they started dating.
“
I love you, you know that?” he asked after a few minutes of silence.
“I know.”
“You love me too, right?”
She sighed, feeling his grip tighten as he her asked that. “Of course I do. I love you very much.”
She could tell him that a million times and it still probably wouldn’t be enough to rid him of the insecurities he only showed at his most vulnerable moments.
“Okay
 good.”
He doesn’t speak again for several moments, Mia having been right on the verge of finally falling back asleep when he spoke up again.
“You’re mine. Completely mine. You know that too, right?” he lifted his head, staring straight into her brown eyes. “If another man even thought about taking you away from me, I’d rip his heart out.”
She knew he could hear how fast her heart was beating, but thankfully he didn’t comment on it. She’s not sure what she’d say if he asked about it. It’s not like she could lie to him.
All she did to answer him was nod, which seemed to be enough to satisfy him. He smiled, leaning up and pressing a kiss to her forehead.
He readjusted their positions, this time so she was lying on top of his chest.
“Good night, sweetheart,” he said happily, holding her like a child might hold their favorite stuffed animal, but tighter.
“
night, babe,” she whispered back, which he acknowledged with a hum and another kiss, this time to the top of her head.
He quickly drifted to sleep after that, his grip not loosening at all.
Sleep didn’t find Mia at all the rest of the night.

While Homelander is by far the more possessive and jealous lover, Mia had jealousy and resentment issues due to Stormfront attempting to seduce Homelander. Due to Homelander isolating her from everyone but him, she is also extremely insecure and anxious about the prospect of him leaving or replacing her as the biggest priority in his life, even becoming jealous if he spends too much time with Ryan, though she tries to reign it in. Homelander finds it cute.

summary: Homelander learns that there’s ways to lactate without being pregnant. Mia reluctantly indulges him.
(unhealthy relationships, lactation kink, breastfeeding kink, praise kink.)
author’s note: wrote this back in october for cozy corner’s kinktober. prompt was breastfeeding đŸ«Ą
wc: 1.3k
“How many fucking times did those scientists drop you on your head as a baby?”
If she had been anyone else, Mia had no doubt that Homelander would’ve ripped her apart piece by piece at that comment. But luckily (or perhaps, unluckily) for her, she was the human lucky enough to be the love of Homelander’s life. So, instead of killing her, he just gave her an annoyed look.
“Mia, c’mon. You didn’t even think about it!”
“I’m not going to start taking drugs just to
to start lactating so you can drink my breast milk!”
Even after working for him for six years and dating him for five of those, that was still not a sentence she thought she would ever say.
She crossed her arms over her chest protectively. So much she had put up with Homelander over the years. The obsession and love bombing, his possessiveness and jealousy issues, dropping out of law school and losing a promising legal career, cutting off contact with nearly all her friends and family, the fact she’s fairly certain he murdered a few of her past college hookups who seemed to have disappeared off the face of the planet

And it still wasn’t enough for him. He just took and took from her. Sooner than later, there was going to be nothing for her to give.
But surely before that happened, there had to be a point where she was allowed to say no to something.
“Fucking Firecracker did it, but you can’t?!”
She groaned, thinking about the image of Firecracker coming into the penthouse - her home - and attempting to seduce Homelander. Mia wasn’t usually one to get jealous - she had no reason to be with how devoted Homelander was towards her. But even if he did get with someone else, with how unhinged he had become, it might not be the worst thing if another woman - a supe one at that - caught his eyes. (The problem with that was Mia wasn’t sure if she would know how to function in the world without Homelander.)
Ultimately, Homelander had turned down Firecracker’s offer, but Mia had no idea if it would’ve been cheating on her or not if he hadn’t. Of all the men she could’ve fell for, it had to be the most fucked up guy in the entire fucking world.
Homelander took a breath, calming himself down. He put on a camera-perfect fake smile and rested his hands on her shoulders, squeezing gently. However, she could feel the subtle display of power behind the squeeze.
“I don’t understand why you’re so against this, sweetheart. It’s perfect! You don’t want kids, which hey, I am more than happy to not have another rugrat take up your attention-”
She held back a scoff. Homelander getting jealous of Ryan, his own son, after he had told the boy that Mia would be “taking over” as his mother (forcing both her and Ryan into uncomfortable positions) was one of the most Homelander things he’s ever done.
“- but the downside to that is your body missing out on lactating for me.”
She stared at him incredulously. He was unbelievable sometimes. No, he was beyond unbelievable. “For me.” He said. Like she had to sacrifice her autonomy and comfort, just because milk out of the carton wasn’t doing it for him anymore?
“John-“
“Please.”
And there it was. That pleading tone with those desperate and almost innocent looking blue eyes that always managed to break her. He gently pulled her arms away from her chest, running his hands up and down them.
She looked away, staring at the lavish floor instead of his face. She wanted to cry. God, she felt so weak. So pathetic.
“Darling, it would mean so much to me
” he murmured, grabbing her chin with a gentleness he only used on her.
“I
” she trailed off. Damn him. He was always going to get his way. She only wished he threatened her the same way he did everyone else to get it. Maybe then she would have some sort of defense for why she did the things Homelander asked of her. She blinked back tears threatening to fall and cleared her throat. “
only under a doctor’s guidance. And if it starts to become too much for me or I get any weird side effects, then I’m stopping it immediately. Understand?” She said as firmly as she could.
Homelander - John beamed at that and nodded, pulling her into a tight embrace against his chest.
“You’re so good to me, my darling
” he mumbled as he nuzzled against her neck, pressing a few kisses every now and then.
Too good, she thought to herself, rubbing her hand in circles mindlessly on his back.
~
Homelander had gotten her to a doctor the very same day and immediately they started the hormone treatment. It took longer than how Firecracker was apparently able to start lactating, but it was safer and ultimately no matter how demanding or horrible Homelander might be, he did truly love and care about her (as best as he could, anyways).
It took a few weeks, but finally she was able to produce the milk that Homelander had craved from her body so badly.
She sat on the couch awkwardly, her blouse unbuttoned to have her right breast out. No bra or anything underneath her shirt.
Homelander laid on the couch, suckling at her breast like a man starved. What the absolute fuck was her life?
“Is it
good?” she asked, not sure what else to say in the moment. The silence besides the needy and pleasurable noises that Homelander made was unbearable to her.
Homelander moaned and nodded. She rocked him back and forth in an awkward and poor attempt to mimic a maternal movement. She leaned her head back against the leather couch and closed her eyes.
“Okay
 that’s good
good boy
” she mumbled, stroking his hair. The words only egged him on more and he wrapped his arms around her in an almost death grip. She grunted, but knew she had to stay gentle towards him. “Hey, hey. Easy
 easy now, my sweet boy
”
Homelander loosened his hold on her, but his arms still felt like they were caging her against him with no hope of escape. There was probably a bruise. It wasn’t his fault - she just bruised easily. Always had. When John saw it later, he would no doubt kiss it and apologize by worshipping her body.
She lulled the two of them back and forth some more, craving the comfort that only he could provide her with. While her daddy issues were nowhere near as bad as his mommy issues, there was definitely a reason she had fallen in love with a man nearly two decades older than her.
She pressed his face closer against her breast, electing an appreciative moan from the supe who sucked on her tit more greedily. She murmured a few more “good boy”s at him and stroked his hair until he had had his fill.
”You’re perfect
” he murmured when he pulled back, licking his lips. “absolutely perfect. I love you so much. You know that, right?”
Mia felt disgusted as he pressed his lips to her own.
”I know,” she said shakily as he moved to her left breast, biting it teasingly before moving to her nipple, “I love you too.”
~
“Here, babe. Sorry I’m late,” Mia said as she walked into the Seven’s meeting room, placing a fresh glass of milk in front of Homelander and kissed the top of his head.
Homelander grabbed her wrist and made her lean down, kissing her softly on the lips. Mia closed her eyes and melted into it, glad he did it before he decided to take a drink of the milk.
When she pulled back and stood behind him as she always did, ready to take notes of today’s meeting, she noticed a resentful glare coming from Firecracker.
Mia couldn’t resist the small, smug smile that tugged at the corner of her lips as she grabbed Homelander’s hand and squeezed it lovingly.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: a new intern starting at vought catches homelander’s attention.
author’s note: kinda softer compared to what i usually write
this was really just meant as an excuse to write out oc lore in a fic and give these two background lol
Working at Vought was almost like a dream come true.
Only almost because in her dream world, Mia would’ve had an office on the 99th floor with diplomas of higher education hanging proudly on her walls. Able to dress in fancy blouses and skirts and dresses everyday with overpriced jewelry. Able to walk around New York without having to worry about how she was going to pay for her next meal. Hell, maybe she’d be able to hire her own personal chef. God know she can barely cook more than ramen noodles like the poor and sleep deprived college student she was.
In her dream world, she would get to work with the Seven - with Homelander. As a fully mature woman, not some stupid, clumsy college girl.
But unfortunately, she lived in the real world.
Still, an internship was far better than nothing. Sure, she’s just a college student and is barely getting paid more than minimum wage and probably won’t do anything more exciting than fetch people’s coffees, but it would look damn good on a rĂ©sumĂ©.
Plus, even if she wasn’t working directly with Homelander, she was still in the same building as him! How many of her friends could say that? Exactly, none.
Walking into her first day of work, she felt extremely underdressed being in a light pink sweater and jeans she got from a store down the street from her shitty little apartment with a pearl necklace that had a little heart charm attached to it.
But she was in a good mood today. Good enough of a mood to ignore the obviously condescending comment by her supervisor, Ashley, about how adorable she looked, while the older woman looked at her outfit was clear disapproval.
“Mia Cormac
So, you’re a sophomore in college, right?” Ashley asked, looking at Mia’s profile as they walked the bustling halls of Vought Tower.
“Just finished my freshman year,” Mia answered, fidgeting with the ring on her index finger. “4.0 gpa.”
“And it says here you want to go to law school after you graduate?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“That’s bold,” Ashley turned around to face her and Mia had to admit she was impressed with how Ashley was able to talk, walk backwards in heels, and look at her tablet all at the same time. “Bold is good here! I’m sure you’ll fit right in.”
Mia forced a smile and nodded, taking the time to look at her surroundings as Ashley explained her duties and how things worked around here. Taking coffee orders, scheduling meetings, the occasional job shadowing of higher ups - all that stuff.
Vought Tower was just so big. She felt like she could get lost in here for days - maybe even months.
“You know, sometimes interns get to shadow members of the Seven!” Ashley told her excitedly, “of course that requires over 300 hours put in, a recommendations from a supervisor, typically not missing a single day of work-”
“A member of the Seven?” Mia perked up, “you mean
I could shadow Homelander for a day?”
Ashley’s smile immediately fell and her shoulders visibly tensed up. But just as quickly as it was gone, that overly fake smile was planted back on her face.
“Homelander‘s usually too busy for that sort of stuff. Being leader of the Seven,” she told Mia, “it’s usually The Deep, Translucent, or A-Train. Maybe Maeve, if she’s in a good enough mood. Black Noir used to do them too, but he kind of freaked some of the interns out, so it’s been a while since we had interns follow him.”
“Ahh
”
Mia tried to hide her clear disappointment.
Maeve wouldn’t be bad to follow around, but the other three? Mia didn’t have anything against them, of course. They were heroes, after all and deserved nothing less than the utmost respect. But
everyone had their favorite heroes, right? Her’s just happened to not be them.
“They’re great! Everyone here is so great!” Ashley was quick to add. Why does everything out of her mouth sound so forced? “But again, getting to shadow one of them is rare. Like, really, really rare.”
Now it was Mia’s turn to fake a smile and nod as Ashley blabbered on.
“Okay, well, you know where my office is if you need me. For now, head up to the 62nd floor. There’s a board meeting happening and they need someone to get their lunch orders,” Ashley began walking away, but then turned around to add, “I’m just going to warn you now, but if you fuck up even one detail, get one person’s favorite sauce wrong, and your internship will be over before it even begins.”
“
alrighty then
” Mia said mostly to herself since Ashley was already on her way down the hall.
Mia sighed, hitting the elevator button and stepping inside. She stared at the many buttons on the inside, almost tempted to hit the one for the 99th floor just to see what would happen. Would it even work? She felt like it would be the same thing as trying to take an elevator to Mt. Olympus or something.
She resisted the urge, hitting the one for the 62nd floor like she was supposed. It would not do well for her to be fucking around on her first day of work, after all. Especially with how
 demanding it seemed to be.
She stood alone in the elevator, hands resting in front of her until the elevator stopped on the 25th floor. She kept her eyes trained on the ground, not particularly in the mood for conversation.
Until she glanced stripped red and white fabric out of the corner of her eye. Her breath hitched slightly.
There was no fucking way

Still keeping her eyes trained as low as she could while still getting a good view, she almost collapsed.
Homelander was right there. Next to her. Alone in an elevator.
This felt exactly like the setup of several explicit dreams she had had before. The memories made her cheeks heat up, almost red enough to match her curly hair.
Should she say something? What do you even say to the greatest hero ever? She’d probably end up embarrassing herself, but-
“I’m guessing that you're new here?” Homelander’s voice cut through her thoughts, a hint of amusement lacing it.
Oh my god, oh my god, ohmygod he’s actually speaking to me.
“Yes,” her voice cracked so badly she felt like a part of her died inside. She quickly cleared her throat, “y-yes, sir. I-I just started today. Internship. For college. I’m, umm, Mia. Mia Cormac.”
Homelander chuckled and oh she felt like her heart was about to jump out of her chest.
“Well,” he held out his hand and she shakily, but eagerly took it, “it’s so nice to meet you, Mia Cormac.”
“Y-yeah. You too,” she swallowed. She thought for a few seconds to decide if she wanted to keep talking and against her better judgement, she decided to speak sons more, “I-I don’t want to seem like some sort of deranged super fan or whatever, but
I just want to say I
admire and respect you so much, sir. What you do is just
 amazing. You
you’re my favorite hero. Really.” She was internally kicking herself. Sounding like a deranged super fan? There had definitely been more insane people than her when meeting their idol. Sounding like a lovesick puppy, however? Yeah
 She swallowed, “
sorry.”
But to her surprise instead of calling her a freak, Homelander smiled at her. Actually smiled.
There was heat building up somewhere else besides her face now.
The elevator suddenly dinged, signaling their arrival to the 62nd floor. She didn’t know if she was grateful or angry with it.
“W-well, this is my stop. I-it was a pleasure meeting you
sir,” she said. But as she stepped out of the elevator, a gloved hand gently wrapped itself around her wrist.
Her eyes were wide as she looked back at Homelander who was still smiling at her. Though, there was a hint of something a bit more then friendliness in it, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on what it was.
“Mia,” he said, almost sounding like he was savoring the taste of her name on his lips, “I really do hope to see you around.”
He let go of her and the elevator closed as he stepped back inside before she could respond.
Mia took a minute to catch her breath, looking around the hallway. Everyone walked by like it was just a normal day. As if Homelander hadn’t just talked to her - hadn’t just touched her! Her - a mere mortal.
She hadn’t believed in God since she was 14, but she had more or less been convinced since soon after that belief had developed that Homelander was the closest thing this universe would ever have to a god.
And he wanted to see her again.
She let out another shaky breath, rushing to find the meeting room she was supposed to go to. She didn’t have time to be giddy about all this. If she hadn’t been encouraged to not fuck up before, now failure - clichĂ© as it may sound - was absolutely not an option. Not if she wanted to cling onto that hope of ever seeing or talking to him again.

HELLO
. I AM CALLED M E R C Y.
YOU WISH TO ACCESS INFORMATION ABOUT . . . . .
GRAND HEIGHTS AGENCY?
VERY WELL
. ACCESSING

 HISTORY
GRAND HEIGHTS AGENCY otherwise known as GHA is a sister agency to MEIA that resides in the next largest city of Insidia called Tacetel. This city, before the demon war, was the military base of operations for the whole island. It also held the largest port of the entire island, and thus was a beacon for citizens trying to flee from Insidia.
Thanks to the military power of the city, they managed to do much like Seaside had done, and created a safe zone. Soon, an agency was also built and began operations in Tacetel to save as much of the city as they could.
Unlike Seaside Agency, GHA never experienced a fall that took them under. Instead they had inner house issues that were taken care of under the belt. Change in leadership, change in rank positions, all happened without large fusses or battles.
GHA is known for being hard on its agents, especially the enhanced and demon agents. They do not give second chances as much as MEIA does. GRANDSIRr, the current head of GHA often looks down upon Maylin for her softer tactics. Blaming her methods for the reason that humanity has yet to make a comeback. Despite their misgivings–and being half a week's walk from Invicta to Tacetel –the two agents do their best to assist each other.
LAST KNOWN CORRESPONDENCE . . . . ACCESSING
GHA sent a distress signal two weeks ago. My systems are picking up that something blocked its travel so it has only reached us now. Would you like to respond?
Very well, response sent.

“BRING IT AROUND!”
Gunfire echoes through the sky, louder than the voices of the agents using them. The noise is gaining in volume with every moment. With every demon that appears from the broken down houses on the edge of the city. The troop is speeding down the street. and it is only the straps keeping the agents on the cars as they move.
“Don’t let them jump on any of the vehicles!” Alistair yells, shooting out the driver side window as he keeps demons off the trailer he is hauling. Lerissa, still focused on keeping Geon alive, can do nothing but call out approaching demons. A junior agent jumped to sit in the trailer to help out.
“Once we get over this pass we’ll be in the clear!” Celest announces through the coms.
The road ahead narrows into a bridge crossing over a dry stream. Spikes line one side of the stream, covered in bodies of demons. Maylin’s enhancement was used to raise the gate, her car pulled over with jinx and the agents covering her as all the other cars pull through. She’ll let it shut only once everyone is through.
“I’ll bring the town down on them once everyone is past.” Maylin replies. Jinx, who is crouched beside her with a sniper, eyes her for a moment.
A minivan and two jeeps are the last to pull through. Their tires screech on the pavement. Agent Seb jumps from the truck he was in that stopped near the entrance of the gate.
“Get moving! I’ll cover you!” Seb calls to Maylin and Jinx as he grabs the semi automatic off the side of the truck. The weapon is heavy in his hand but he holds it with ease. Agent Moon is leaning out the back truck window watching with an obviously awe’d expression.
“You’re a fool!” Jinx yells as she pushes the younger agents first.
Seb laughs, holding the semi automatic to face the demons rushing towards them. “Fool or not, we need you and I'm not letting you die.” His finger hits the trigger and bullets spray from the weapon rapidly. Downing demon after demon as the agents beyond the gate finally rush in.
Maylin drops the gate, and it slams into the ground with a loud thud. Demons slamming into it and reaching though the bars to try and reach them.
“Nice try, suckers!” Agent Moon yells from the truck, earning a look from Agent Seb.
“Let’s move further from here. Only a few more hours to the safe zone.” Maylin says as she approaches the jeep. Jinx already in the driver seat. The other agents who had stepped out pile back into their cars.
“Move out!”
MEANWHILE : CARGOBOB GROUP
The land before them is mostly unknown. Agent Helios took part in a mission or two in this zone, but it’s rare any agent comes this far out of the main city. Even Sol, with his vast experience, has never truly explored here.
“Keep your eyes peeled for any movement. Try to keep your steps quiet. We don’t want to attract what might be out there.” Sol says, hoisting a dirty bag over his shoulders. Since they lost most everything in the explosion, scavenging was their only hope.
“If we move with haste we should make it to the edge of the city before night falls.” The head agent takes in the four agents with him. A broken wrist, busted knee, sore ankles, bruises, and covered in dust–this team looks rough for wear but they have no choice but to press forward.
Without saying anything, Sol steps up to Agent Harlequin and hoists the junior up and over to his back. Ignoring the scandalized ‘hey’ He got from the younger agent. “Let's get moving.”
The three seniors nodded, all presenting different emotions but now was not the time to process those. The senior agent, Agent Butter, takes the lead. His enhancement would be useful to defend against anything running at them.
Sol took to the middle, wanting to keep the junior agent out of harm's way the best he could. After all, it was his fault the younger one was even involved in this.
Agent Epsilon and Agent Helios took up the back. Helios gravitating to his brother, concern etched on his face. Obviously able to tell something has happened and it’s not just the cargbob exploding. He doesn’t say anything, knowing now is not the time. And Epsilon doesn’t start a conversation either.
Agent Helios walks with a limp, barely noticeable but enough so that Epsilon closes the distance between them and supports the older agent. Helios looks surprised but stays quiet, accepting the help.
They all walk for what feels like a decade, guided by Agent Mist, and Agent Luna.
BACK WITH THE MAIN TROOP
It is twilight when the troop arrives at a rundown inn. Not a soul in sight, which also means no demons in sight. Each vehicle pulls up to the inn, some agents getting out while others stay in the safety of the cars. Unsure of their surroundings.
Maylin crosses the dirt lot towards the front entrance of the inn. confidence in her steps.
“Watch it!” Jinx calls when a red dot appears on Maylin’s arm. The head agent does not seem bothered though and instead raises a hand.
“Surprised to see you here.”
Everyone who got out of the cars watches in surprised confusion, unsure who the agency leader could be speaking too.
Until a figure only familiar to a few drops from the roof of the inn.
“What took you guys so long?”
TO BE CONTINUED TOMORROW.

LOADING   .     .     .
An old projector flickers to life in the back of the storage room. It brightens the corner of the room, shining a grey image onto the wall before it. The image glitches in and out of frame before settling. It slowly zooms in on an image of a battlefield. The fight happens in slow motion and appears to be moving backwards. The video speeds up, the people on screen slowly vanishing and being replaced with people farming, and dancing.  A voice, deep and scratchy, fills the small space around the boxes.
Long ago before this Island was inhabited by the explorers of other countries there once lived a village of people. They were a peaceful people, taking from the land only what they need and always making sure to give back. They worked together to survive, and though their numbers were small they had a long history.
The video moves forward, showing a cave and two teenagers peeking into the entrance of it.
One day, twins from the village had gone exploring to a part of the island they were forbidden to approach. A cave that sat on the side of the mountain had caught their interest. It’s darkness was inviting.
The twin on the left begins to step into the cave, they turn to wave at their sibling. The other twin seems to hesitate before following, taking the hand of the other. They enter into the darkness.
A dark magic was unlocked this day. It seeped into the very ground of the island and stretched its way from the cave to every shore line. The twins were never seen again, though the village searched and searched for the missing teens they had no knowledge of where they had explored.
The magic they unlocked laid dormant in the ground, waiting for a spark to latch onto. Oh it tried, of course.
The video flickers between scenes. A young couple arguing before storming off. A little kid throwing a scene and breaking something. A man punching at a tree then screaming. All of them shrouded in a thin veil of darkness that vanishes into the ground.
The villagers did not understand why they were being haunted. They did not know what could be tormenting them, until the village wise woman stepped forward. “A curse on the land” she spoke.
With a wave of her hand the ground before her trembled and black smoke rose before escaping back into the earth.
“A great evil has been awakened and angered.” The wise women warned. This caused the villagers much stress, first they lost the village leaders twins and now the a curse has been cast on the land. They vowed to do something to fix this curse before it grew to be too strong.
The video moves across the village and over to the shoreline where large ships can be seen coming into view.
They would never get the chance to.

DAY ONE : PART TWO
The screeching siren of an incoming missile has everyone in the cargobob on full alert. Maylin’s voice comes through the coms before any connection to the outside is cut off.
“Hold on! This is going to be rough!” Sol shouts into the headset as he jerks the control of the cargobob. It doesn’t turn quickly, but he does get it to drop in height.
Time seems to slow as the missile is seen from the front windows. Sol throws off his headset, and belt keeping him in his seat. The co-pilot copying him.
They both dive to the back. Sol points to Harlequin and Helios and the senior agent nods. Their shield enhancement would allow them to keep someone else safe. It would be a challenge to get two safe but in moments like this enhancements need to be tested.
Sol drops next to Epsilon and Khiana.
The missile hits its target.
Fire fills the sky as the cargobob and everything it was carrying is destroyed–or so it is assumed. Amidst the chaos and destruction a few figures are shot down into the city.
GROUP ONE
A crater rests in the center of a parking structure. Makeshift stairs are built along the side of the crater via rocks, boxes, and other debris from the bottom.
“Careful–the stone on top is wobbly.” Khiana says to Epsilon as the other agent clears the top of the crater. The medic shoots her an annoyed look then pushes himself up.
“Thanks, I never noticed.” The sarcasm is thick Epsilon's voice which makes Khiana chuckle.
Sol is the last to push up from the crater. He’s covered in small scraps and cuts and looks a little on the wobbly side but he stands nevertheless.
“Status?” He questions. Neither agent with him appears to be injured and they both respond confirming that. Of course he knows they might not be telling the truth. Senior agents are bad about hiding injuries especially in the field.
But for now he would let it slide. No time to scold when they are exposed like this.
“My coms are down, do either of you have a connection?” Sol continues, guiding them out from the open and into a more closed off space. At least they can’t be spotted from above.
“Negative, mine’s been fried.” Khiana responds, crouching just at the entrance of their new hideout.
“Epsilon?”
“I have a signal but it’s not very clear.” Epsilon responds.
“ come in  - - - lips- - -  requ—- nates— - - come i - - “ The faint transmission comes from a familiar voice but none of them are able to pick up what is being said.
“Let me see, I learned a thing or two from Alistair.” Sol says, and tinkers with Epsilon’s coms device for a moment. The transmission gets a bit more clear and they are able to tell its from agent Helios.
“uH
” Khiana’s voice draws their attention. She’s looking out the entryway which causes Epsilon to shift over to her side. “We might have a problem.”
The crash, to no one’s surprise, drew demons from the surrounding area to investigate the noise. The number of demons is far more than the three of them could handle–even with a head agent here.
“If we don’t act soon our way out is going to be a path to death.” She continues, not taking her eyes off the growing number of demons. It’s only a matter of time before they spot the group.
“There’s a way back here, I don't know what the other side looks like but it’s our best bet right now.” Sol says, handing back Epsilon’s coms device.
“Helios?” Epsilon calls into the device as the trio begins to make their way through the crumbling building. “Helios, do you copy?”
The coms on the other end is crackling with noise but no one has been responding yet. He can tell they are connected but the lack of response is worrisome. There is no telling what is happening where they ended up.
“Seoyun–” The medic’s attention snaps forward at Khiana’s voice. She’s right in front of him, worry pinching her brows together. “You good? We will find them.” She says quietly.
“Shut up, I know we will.” He pushes past her, angry, embarrassed and worried at all once. but he can’t show that. His normal expression falls onto his face as he focuses on their current situation. The coms device is still humming in one ear.
“You never change.” Khiana’s amused voice sounds right behind him but Seoyun doesn’t respond.
The building they are in seems to be an old pharmacy. A counter with glass around it sits to the right of them, and mostly empty shelves sit to the right. Seoyun pauses to grab some of the still closed gauze and bandages. Sterile and good size.
Khiana snickers, earning a side eye from Seoyun.
“Can you take anything seriously?”
“Can you ever have fun?” She fires back then smirks.
Sol, who had been watching them, shakes his head and steps ahead.
“Come on you both, we need to get to the other side and hopefully we can find the other three.” He says, pushing the door to the main area of the pharmacy and making his way through the store.
Seoyun is quick to follow, not making sure Khiana is behind him. He picks up the sound of footsteps which let him know she is.
The sound of cracking glass makes the trio pause, eyes flying in the direction of the noise. Seoyun crouches and leans forward to see around the shelf he’s by.
“Oh
” Khiana lets out a surprised breath, but before Seoyun can see what she has seen, the girl is crouching in front of him.
“Hey.”
“...?” He eyes her as she greets him as if they were passing in the cafeteria.
Khiana grins.
“You really need to work on your people skills, hotshot.”
“You–”
“Shhhh.” Khiana covers his mouth with her hand, she glances around the shelf once more before looking at him again. “You need to get Sol out of here. Kaiser has a plan and this was part of it.”
Seoyun’s expression gets angrier which makes Khiana’s smile turn a bit sad. She drops her hand and nods. “I was originally here to complete a mission for him. Not by choice–whatever your head medic did, it broke me from that.”
“I knew there was something off about you.”
Khiana laughs under her breath. “So you were suspicious of me.”
“Explain.”
“I wish I had the time for that
”
“What do you—”
The sound of demon growling reaches their ears. Seoyun tenses, going for his gun but Khiana shakes her head. “There’s no point–just go with Sol. Getting out if priority, getting back to your brother.”
Seoyun grabs her arm. “I’m not leaving you behind, I still need answers.”
Khiana smiles. “Maybe you’ll find them in Tacetel.”
The girl leans forward quickly, her lips pressing against Seoyun’s. It’s not a soft kiss, not one of affection. It’s hard, desperate, and full of regret. She feels his hand loosen on her arm in surprise and she takes the chance to push him at Sol who is just as surprised. Even a little confused.
“Go!” She whispers urgently. Sol sees something in her eyes that makes the head agent nod. He doesn’t hesitate to grab hold of Seoyun and drag the senior out.
Khiana watches them leave, her eyes on Seoyun.
“I wonder
 if we had met sooner.”
The sound of demon growls makes her turn around. More than 20 are lumbering into the shop from a back room. The first few finally spot her and a roar echos through the building.
The sound can be heard outside as Sol and Seoyun run.
“Fucking idiot.” Seoyun says as he glances back one more time. There is no heat in his voice.
GROUP TWO
Agent Helios releases his hold on Agent Harlequin as the dust around them settles. He checks the younger agent over for any injuries before turning to the other senior agent with them. The senior appears okay, just exhausted from using his enhancement.
“Do we have eyes on Sol, Epsilon, or Khiana?” He questions, falling into mission mode.
Harlequin is stiff and it doesn’t take Helios long to find the problem. A sprained ankle and bruised up knee, probably from impact.
“Try contacting Epsilon or Sol, okay?” Helios says as he kneels beside Harlequin and starts wrapping his ankle.
The younger agent is quick to respond. He’s obviously shaken but Helios can tell he is trying to keep it together. A good agent. Helios works swiftly in tending to the younger. The coms device is barely getting through, so once he’s sure Harlequin will be alright, he starts calling on his own.
“Come in Epsilon, Sol, this is agent Helios. Requesting your location. Come in.” He calls into the device.
“Helios, I got through to Maylin.” Harlequin gets his attention.
“Good work, kid.” He replies, taking hold of Harlequin’s device and attempting to get a similar message through.
“This is agent helios, we are down but unharmed. Unable to contact Sol. Continue forward.” He catches the confused look on the younger agent's face.
“Shouldn’t they come back for us?”
“It’s too dangerous for that. The civilians would never make it.” He explains.
“Couldn’t they send a team?”
“An risk leaving the rest of them outnumbered?”
Harlequin frowns but doesn’t continue questioning.
“Best we can do right now is find the rest of our group and move forward.”
A voice does manage to get through to them–Helios specifically.
Daesu please respond. Let me know youre alive.
Agent Luna and her ability to speak into minds reaches out for Helios who lets out a sigh. The newly married couple spend a moment talking to each other in their minds. Helios letting her know their current situation and plan.
Once they break off he tries once more to contact Sol or Seoyun. Nothing.
“We need to get higher ground.”
On that command the three agents begin to slowly make their way through the area. They got lucky with very few demon sightings, and soon enough found their way to the higher level of a building. The wall surrounding the stairs had been broken down and allowed them to climb easily.
“I’ll look south, Harlequin take west.” Helios says, each of them looking in a different direction for their comrades.
The time passes slowly, but also quickly. Demons lumbering around, crumbling noises of buildings giving up–it’s a whole other world out here than the agency grounds. Soon enough Harlequin is calling out to the seniors.
“There, just beyond the billboard.”
Sure enough two figures can be seen ducking under the fallen billboard. They spot the MEIA symbol on the sleeve of Sol’s arm, bright and clear. Helios holds up an arm and waves them over. The trio began to descend the steps again to meet them halfway.
“Good to see the three of you are alive.” Sol greets. There is something about his tone that is off, but Epsilon doesn’t react to it so Helios pushes it off as paranoia.
“Sir, Epsilon, good to see you.” Helios glances around but before he can voice his question someone else speaks.
“She stayed behind.” Epsilon says, voice tense. Angry, annoyed, frustrated. All things Helios has seen from the other before. He figures out what happened from those emotions alone. He nods, taking a moment to send his thanks to Khiana for protecting Helios.
Sol once more leads the group to a more protected area. Nothing here is truly safe but less open air means easier to spot attacks. He pulls out his coms device and tells the others to get theirs out. Each device is laid out, and the senior agent reveals he was from the Tech team before leaving. They watch as he fiddles away with the devices.
A few seconds pass, then they all ding in unison.
“We’re getting a message.” The senior agent explains, and a holographic message appears. A video opening moments after.
“Hey guys!” A grinning Mist is seen through the screen. “I found you~ You know everyone is freaking out right now.” The five agents let out breaths when they get a proper connection.
“Our devices were harmed in the fall and–” Sol starts but Mist interrupts him.
“I know! I hacked in with Remy’s help and we managed to triangulate your devices with a few here. A couple of additions and twists.” She rambles in a tech voice that only one of them keeps up with for a moment. At the blank looks she stops. “Basically you’re running off of Maylin’s device.”
Sol nods. “Does she have orders for our next action?”
Mist nods.
“I’m going to guide you through the city. She said we should reach out first destination in 5 hours and that she will give you two days to make it through the city and meet us there.” As Mist talks, a map appears before them. They see their position and they see the troops' position. A red line begins to form leading them forward.
“Just follow this.” Mist continues. “There is no telling what the demonic activity is like but this should get you through stable ground.”
“Should?” Helios questions his cousin.
“Will.” She affirms. “Don’t worry! You got me to guide you.”
Helios and Epsilon trade a look.
“That’s reassuring.” Harlequin replies, making Mist laugh.
“Better get moving!”

13 hours of travel: The beginning of South Gate
The travel through Invicta has proven to be hazardous. Not that it’s any surprise to anyone involved. The civilians are not taking to it well but the agent’s quick response to any issues has kept them more relaxed.
Demons aside, the pathway itself barely allows for passage and it is only thanks to Maylin and the handful of other mind and strength enhanced agents that the pathway is cleared. The caravan of MEIA people cross the wall into South Gate, a B level zone.
“Sol, how’s it looking up there?”
Maylin’s voice echoes through the headsets on the cargobob. The aerial view was an immense help to watch for trouble. Sol, the pilot, would call out a change in direction or if the caravan needs to pause. Allowing any mind enhanced agents to rest and not overuse their abilities.
“So far clear passage. It looks like there was a disturbance to the north that has drawn demonic attention that way.”
“Keep us posted.”
The road before them had been previously cleared and kept up with by people surviving in the city. Wennh and Tae work together at times to make sure they can get supplies through. This works in MEIA favor in their present state.
Jinx and Maylin at the head of the troop guide everyone along this cleared road way. Agents are posted out a window on either side of every vehicle with guns just in case they need to get rid of advancing enemies.
“We’re not making good time.” Jinx says quietly, her coms device set to only be heard by the other head agents.
“You think we haven’t noticed?” Celest snarks back.
“I’m just pointing out–”
“Maybe point out something useful then.”
Lerissa cuts in before a fight can break out over coms. “Yeah Lerissa, everything’s fine Lerissa. You’re only using your enhancement constantly to keep an agent alive.”
The silence through the coms is loud.
A sigh. “Look, we’re all tense. We can’t start fighting between ourselves. The agency is reliant on us.” Alistair says.
“Sorry, Jinx. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out in the field.” Celest says.
A bump in the road has the coms going quiet once more as the troop passes over. Maylin calls for a roll call to make sure everyone made it in.
“As long as we can get out of South Gate before night time then we are making good time.” Maylin says, her tone final.
The tension is high moving through the city. Most agents do not venture this far. The success rate is low, but for this mission everyone needs to believe it’s high. Once they are out of South Gate it’s open land, open road. The chance of surprise attack is low, and odds of demon encounters are practically zero.
A disturbance from one of the bus’s has Maylin turning on her video coms to speak with Silk. The senior in charge of that bus. Before she can ask their status a voice in her head that is familiar is informing her of another disturbance.
“Stop the jeep!” Maylin calls, causing Jinx to jerk in surprise and slam on the breaks. It’s only years of training that keep any of the other agents from hitting anyone. Maylin opens her door and stands on the step of the jeep. She eyes the northern buildings.
“What the hell, Maylin??” Jinx questions, leaning over the seats to look up at the leader of the agency.
“Agent Luna just informed me that Agent Artemis has detected something but is not sure what it is. Agent Silk also mentioned something with Agent Phantom.”
The mention of the former SRA agent makes Jinx tense, her eyes following the direction that Maylin is looking. They both see the flag peek over the roof of a nearby building.
“No
” Maylin raises her hand to her ear, almost yelling into the coms as a red object goes hurtling through the sky.
“Sol! SOl, FLY!” The noise of the missile is loud.
Time seems to slow as they watch it go above them. Maylin holds a hand out, but the missile is too quick for her enhancement to lock onto it. It’s too high for Jinx to shoot it. The cargobob is it’s target and Maylin knows it’s going to hit.
The explosion shakes the very foundation they are all on. Maylin barely managed to stay on the jeep.
“Sol, do you copy?” She tries into the coms.
Jinx switches to local coms.
“Agent’s do you copy? Sol, Helios, Epsilon–”
“I’ve lost track of vitals for everyone in the cargobob, Maylin.” Celest’s voice comes through the coms.
“Sol! DO you copy?” Jinx says again, her voice a touch desperate. Maylin drops back into her seat and drops a hand onto JInx’s shoulder.
Jinx, tears in her eyes, looks to Maylin.
“He won’t respond–May, he won’t respond.”
Maylin looks torn.
But they have too much at stake right now. Too many people rely on them. A tough decision has to be made and there is no time to wait.
“Move out.”
“Maylin–”
“I said, move out.” Maylin avoids looking at Jinx.
There is a long pause before Jinx passes the message along. The jeep starts back up and pulls forward. She watches the cargobob dropping through the rearview mirror.
“Sedate any agent who attempts to leave their vehicle. That’s an order.” Maylin passes through local coms. Only Jinx is there to see the leader of the agency. The headstrong Maylin. Drop her head into her hands.
Jinx clenches the wheel tighter.
“---frrr—” A scratchy sound comes through the head agent line. “---can’t—-no sign—-agent helios—- this is—-lios.”
“Celest–” Maylin starts.
“Already on it.”
The scratchy sound begins to quiet, but not by much.
“this–Agent Helios—down—-Harlequin—-Epsilon—-Seeking shelter—--No—--Sol.” The feed cuts off as soon as it starts. Jinx and Maylin trade a look. The message was broken but at least they knew some of them had survived.
“There is always room for hope, Jinx.”
