ok i dont know where this rant was going in the first place. i think it started with me realizing that more money does make for more success after reading about hoffenheim and maybe thats why the bundesliga cant seem to offer a strong enough team yet because 50+1. but then i realized i dont have enough evidence to back it up and thought no thats bullshit mia so i started talking about hertha. but then i realized i dont know enough about how financial shit in football works so i just stopped. but i cant delete this because i spent too long writing it. so feel free to read it. if you do and want to correct me, please do. just know that i dont know shit.
look...i am the first to say money in football plays too big of a role and i fuckin hate it.
but learning more about hoffenheim and how many talents, both players and managers, that have developed through there and went off to other clubs around the buli...i’m starting to understand the role that it actually plays.
having a club with a ridiculous amount of resources they gained very quickly (rich hopp, redbull) means that they can get the “best of the best” to come to the bundesliga. so lets take tsg: hansi flick was a coach, nagelsmann too (yeah sorry i didnt pay attention to other clubs until this year ok? im a newbie in actually paying attention to things other than the beautiful game). and of course players from hoffenheim: firmino, volland, ibisevic to name a few who all are stars at their clubs now. i see where people who say leipzig is good for the bundesliga are coming from...
at the same time, im seeing this at my own club with lars gepumpte millions windhorst. we won’t have the same meteoric rise as tsg or rbl had because we were already a solid bundesliga side but the change since last year is stunning. sure it was a bumpy ride but now the money is starting to show through the talent of our new transfers and...i am enjoying it..a lot. and i almost hate to say it because i feel so opposed to the huge role money in football. i do think our sitch is different than tsg...we were a solidish bundesliga side and its entirely unfair to say that we are only good because of cunha or piatek or lukebakio or boyata.
anyway, maybe i should just accept it. like this is just the way football works. money = a chance at better players/managers = better reputation = pays for itself (that makes total sense i know). to be fair, im never not going to enjoy hertha doing well no matter what happens....

bonus: when i was trying to look at money i found SUCH A SHITTY BAR GRAPH OF BUNDESLIGA CLUB MARKET VALUES THAT I CANT STOP LAUGHING AT (from here) i dont even know if its accurate as far as the actual numbers go
