Last friday I was driving somewhere and I saw a farm with 'carpe diem' written on the side and the only thing my brain could muster up was 'haha like mi bomo celo noč plesali' and then I proceeded to drive 20 km/h above the speed limit

You’re seeing joker out on a concert. Everyone is having a great time. Bojan seems a little excited. “We have a surprise for you guys.” Bojan says. All of a sudden Käärijä comes out and starts singing “cha cha cha.” When Käärijä gets to the chorus, someone else starts singing… “Mi bomo celo noč plesali.” Lights flash everywhere, and you see Bojan singing “carpe diem”, while Käärijä is singing “Cha cha cha”. Had the strangest conversation with my little 9-year-old niece tonight when she was trying to learn French on Duolingo. She asked me if I still use Duolingo and I told her no, and that I’d wanted to learn Slovenian but it wasn’t on Duolingo.

Her: Why did you want to learn Slovenian?

Me: I like this Slovenian band and I’m going to see their concert this September, and I’d like to understand some of their lyrics before that.

Her: Oh. Hey, there was a Slovenian band at Eurovision.

Me: ...yes, I know. That’s actually the band I’m seeing.

Me: ...

We also went grocery shopping earlier in the day, and she asked if she could pick the music, and five seconds later Välikuolema started blasting from the car stereo.
