in general i think the dynamics between the older wizards + a few young-old ones are so. Fucking Dense in nature that sometimes it's awkward to flatten them into "simpler" dynamics (I think i was talking about this to oomf last night but for example i think but i don't really consider snow-white-oz-figaro to be family. not to say their ties don't have an inkling of affection in them, i just don't think their dynamic is familial due to how each member within the unit views it and especially in contrast with oz and figaro's relationships with other people down the line that (arguably) is more distinctively familial) when people want to talk about them but want to sidestep "master/disciple" for various reasons.

and like. I Get It......it'd be easier to flatten it for jokes (which i do too) but when we're talking about Ze Serious Analysis i feel like you're shooting yourself in the foot not taking it as-is. Just because a dynamic is hard to envision doesn't mean you can necessarily forgo it entirely, you know.

uhhhhhhhhhhh lemme talk quickly about ch16

but i find it sooooo neat when they have faust missing what had been, cuz. i think its highly relatable. as well as fausts 'well id nvr abandon my students like figaro did to me:/' -> rmbring he Did abandon lennox.....all those feelings together.....the topics of faust & shino within the ch......faust & nero on the topic of betrayal in general.......... the 5 featured of them who had rly big events happen in their lives that changed it greatly (and a lot of it being betrayal in some capacity....?!)........i have So many thoughts on these points in general but its all so. aurgh. fausts pov is so precious to me.....ill talk more about it one day maybe

im soooooooo worried about heath.............they rly said 'the wizard(s) dealing with the aftermath of the fight with the moon is almost killing one of their own again'. 1st anni realest of real. the fact its BOTH beasts too help.........the cain n nero connection after this....but also seeing shino so scared first for heaths safety and then in front of nova because shino especially realizes how strong an opponent is makes me ssooooooooooooooooooo............shino..........shino rly is Not having a good time that hour

I finished ms2 like. weeks ago. but holy shit it's still haunting me i have so many thoughts about it like:

owen constantly provoking cain to "leave his knight-like/knighthood" and cain going "aight bet" then owen legitimately crashing out when he saw cain doing Whatever at the western country???? Chat this is actual peak.

also owen holds So Much Affection for cain. not speaking as a caiowe shipper right now but i'm speaking like in an analysis way. he refuses to admit it out loud but he constantly, without fail, puts his trust on cain's attitude and character. (See: the lennox vs cain discussion wherein owen was literally the only one who said cain would win over lennox LMFAO) (Speaking as a caiowe shipper: HO THIS GAY AHHHH)

i seriously love the oz and arthur discussion at the later chapters🥲 arthur Really, REALLY needed to hear those words come out from oz himself, and oz really needed to tell his feelings to arthur. they're so father and son🥹 (See: Screenshot below ↓)

IDK

i absolutely love how riquet is always direct. he talked some sense into oz like yeah kid tell that 2000 year old man about how he should talk to his 17 year old son!!!!

Happy birthday.

It’s almost like a law of nature, a law of the universe, that immortal beings like wizards slowly start to dull when faced with the repetition of unending time. Occasions like meetings, partings, reunions, birthdays, all things that occur in limited quantities to humans take less meaning when someone is faced with an infinity of them.

Especially when birthdays are filled with mourning for Snow. A birthday means a memory of someone he lost long ago. A birthday means a recollection of someone he couldn’t appreciate while they were around. A birthday means someone coming into this world, only to be tainted with the harsh reality that came with their existence.

But today, that dullness softens a bit. Today’s birthday means frosting dotting your lips, like snowflakes that bespeckle the Northern tundra. Today’s birthday means that the mansion echoes with your laughter that reminds him of the ringing of wedding bells. Today’s birthday means that you’re being showered with all the love and more.

Today’s birthday is one filled with celebration. Even if it may come back to bite him harder later, today is a day for light and joy. Sugar-filled kisses, wrapping paper scattered like confetti on the floor, jokes about a cake overflowing with candles to represent the passing of time… 

Snow thanks whatever gods may be watching him from up above for sending to you, Today is the day you were born, and today is the day you came into the world to bless his life as much as you’ve blessed everyone else’s. So he resolves to cherish you harder, love you harder, celebrate you harder, so that your birthday can become a distant, beautiful memory that’ll shine brighter than the pain he associates with birthdays.
