Adding magic to overnight baked sweets - Short story

Aunt Stella: Today was another Great day, I baked lots of delicious cookies.

Aunt Stella: But... It's windy and a little cold.

Aunt Stella: When I get home, I'll have some hot tea and the cookies I brought home, and go to bed early.…Oh my.

Aunt Stella: Such a big moon… It's round, like a cookie.

Aunt Stella: Hehe, let's take a picture.

Aunt Stella: What a strange night… And there's a sweet scent coming from somewhere.

Aunt Stella: This aromatic, fragrant scent...

Aunt Stella: ? Where am I...?

Mitile, Riquet: Wah!?

Rustica: Oh, Hello lovely lady. Good day, what a lovely night.

Shino: Hey you, Where did you come from? There was no one here until just now.

Owen: You're not a wizard. So who are you, appearing out of nowhere?

Aunt Stella: Well, I'm Stella. Everyone calls me Aunt Stella.

Aunt Stella: I don't remember how I got here... am I dreaming?

Rustica: I wonder. It's too early to go to bed, so it's probably not a dream.

Rustica: This is a cafe in the west country. It's a little far from the city center, so it has a calm atmosphere.

Mitile: If neither Owen nor Rustica are on their guard... then maybe she's not a dangerous or scary person.

Mitile: She feels like the neighbors in Cloud City, and gives a warm feelings.

Riquet: Stella, do you have any information about this strange incident?

Aunt Stella: Strange incident? Did something happened?

Riquet: Yes. We heard that a strange menu item had appeared on the sign of this shop, so we came to investigate.

Shino: Owen's just slacking off and stealing the sweets from the shop.

Owen: How mean. I'm just checking to see if there's anything wrong with the cookies.

Aunt Stella: Oh, that sweet smell...! It was the smell of the cookies you were eating.

Aunt Stella: Today is really a strange night. There was a big moon on the way home, so I took a picture and smelled something sweet…

Aunt Stella: Then, before I knew it, I was here. It was as if I was lured in by the moon and the smell of cookies.

Riquet: Could that be...?

Mitile: It's similar to the menu that appeared on the sign!

Mitile: "A one-night-only dream baked sweets served by someone guided by the moon and sweet scent.”...

Rustica: So, would the one who was guided be you, lady?

Aunt Stella: I don't know what's going on, but I'm good at baking cookies.

Aunt Stella: I brought some to eat at home. Want to try some?

Shino: I wouldn't eat something someone who just showed up out of nowhere brings out...

Owen: *bite*

Shino: No hesitation!?

Owen: Hehe..

Mitile: Mister Owen is smiling...

Riquet: This is the face he makes when he enjoys something delicious. Um, may I have one too?

Aunt Stella: Of course! There are lots, so pick one you like.

Rustica: Thank you. Well, I will have some.

Shino: …Then, I'll try just one.

Shino: Delicious!

Mitile, Riquet: Delicious...!

Mitile: Mine have the taste of caramel and custard! It has a gentle sweetness that warms me...

Riquet: Mine is full of butter and sugar, and melts in your mouth... I can't stop eating them.

Rustica: Ah, what a fragrant Earl Grey aroma. It's like enjoying tea and cookies at the same time.

Shino: Mine has a nice crunchy texture. The vanilla flavor isn't bad either.

Owen: That's settled. Let's have her bake cookies here overnight, just like the menu says.

Owen: If we serve them, won't the strange phenomenon stop?

Aunt Stella: I'll make cookies here...?

Shino: Great idea. We'll help you.

Rustica: I forgot to tell you, but we are wizards. We can crack eggs, make sugar, and stir with magic.

Mitile: Yes! Like this!

Half-assed report (or commentaries) on today's (February 11th) announcements from various joseimuke games...

I dont know if MHYK now do event announcement in this way or it's reserved specially for Valentine, but it successfully hyped the fandom up. Many guesses fall on Owen, Rustica, and Figaro, it seems? Owen is guaranteed based on the previous day's tweet, for sure. Figaro is due for an SSR, so highly likely. Not sure about Rustica though... Anyway, I love the music they use in the video announcement. I hope it's going to be the event music as well. Oh, and happy birthday to Murr! Thank you for coming in the third pull ☺

Yumekuro also released teaser pictures of the meisters appearing in the next event. Scanning through the comments, many guessed Crow, Est, Itsuki, Oscar, or Towa. Also, they tweeted this. Seven being in maigo (lost kid) center in the upper right corner gets me 😂

In regard to the previous tweet about "inviting a butler to sleep together" as an upcoming feature, Akuneko added new information today, in which they also clarify that we, in fact, are not going to sleep together with the butlers in any sense. Instead we invite them to stay by us and... watch us sleep instead? Talk us to sleep, in the text, it seems. And then they nap too. My God, whoever came up with this idea need a pay rise immediately because this is the best and worst (affectionate) idea ever 😂 Not only can you wake up with loud OHAYOU GOZAIMASU ARUJISAMA through alarm feature, you can now also drift to the dreamland with their voice as a guide. I can't wait for the implementation, seriously. Here is an image the official twitter kindly provided us so we know how it's supposed to go. (Personally, I don’t think I can ever fall asleep if Berrien sit by my bed like that...)

mhyk 2024 christmas event "what if you could force someone else to change" is making me so sick right now because lately ive found myself thinking what if i could make elle change? what do i need to do? how do i make things go back to how they used to be? then that wouldnt be elle. elle is someone unable to ever really understand me and she never has because if she really truly did then none of this would happen regardless of what things mean. and if i don't accept her wholely as she is then thats not me either who loves her unconditionally forever. if i made her change then everything our relationship and my existence was built on would just be meaningless.

but like a christmas miracle she did change. just for a few minutes, my wish came true today. she talked to me and humored me the same way she used to when we were kids. she said "i love you". she said she got me a present. i dont remember if she got me a birthday present this year because she forgot about it. when i talk to her she usually seems like an empty dead fish who cant stand me and forces herself to mutter a few words in response so i dont kill myself. but today she seemed alive and even laughed i was the happiest ive been in ages and that is what makes it even more soul-crushing to know its gone again. the smallest trickle of hope comes every once in a while to pull me up into ecstasy and kick me back down

to her it was just a few minutes of time she spared to her dog while she was in a good mood and to me it was the happiest joy of my life for months to come it will be my guiding light and my reason for hatred and anger

i kinda miss reading a3! everything feels so warm and comforting with how supportive the casts are. the theatre found family friendship stuff

if i had to pick any universe to isekai in… i want it to be in mankai. i used to think about it often like that connect and supportive environment.. how no one is left out.. i want to something like that too

i get warmth from mhyk, i7, and prsk too but two of them gives me a number of emotions i cant name along with it (screaming… tsm sensei is responsible for them.) and the other is proud of those kids kind of feeling, of them figuring their life out.

for a3!, some are adults, some are still in school and i guess that what makes the whole thing. so warm and wholesome because no matter the age, they come together with that shared passion of theatre and grow together

I'm too self-aware and it is physically impossible for me to self-insert or yume anything ever, but i'm gonna take this post as a chance to be unnormal about compare akira and anzu because i love them.

Anyways, comparing the writing of enstars and mhyk in general, enstars is waaaay more dialogue heavy than mhyk. Like, it's exclusively dialogue. While in mhyk we always get some narration from akira. We never get anything narrated from anzu, we can only guess what she says or does when other characters narrate her.

Anzu really disappears in the background when it comes to enstars narration and i feel like this started out as a way to make it easier for the players to project themselves onto anzu except....she ended up being her own fully fledged character, and now it is impossible to project onto her. The whole her never talking thing makes sense considering that 1) she got bullied at her previous school and 2) the enstars main cast literally never cared about her not talking, instead they tried to understand her in other ways, so she never had to change her habit of never saying much.

Akira, on the other hand, never shuts up. And is a Generic Good Person™️ type of narrator who is generally neutral (unlike anzu who was aligned with trickstar at the beginning) and reliable (except when it comes to cats and simping about hot guys). I feel like as a character, akira is a lot more outgoing than anzu. Akira is also a lot closer to their wizards than anzu is to her idols because the sage literally has to guide the wizards while there has to be a certain distance between producers and idols, otherwise the idols would be in huge trouble. And like, akira literally LIVES with their wizards. Every other story i read, some wizard is coming to akira's room.

Anzu really does end up feeling like some kind of deus ex machina, or a goddess, always looking over them but never directly interacting with them. Unlike akira who has to go with and babysit the wizards every mission. This definitely creates way more yume opportunities.

But it also makes me wonder about how much of akira's character is:

the person who happened to be the sage this year

Unlike anzu, who started out blank for yume purposes and became completely her own character eventually, i feel like akira is a weird mixture of all of the three above. We know that in !!-era, the idols love anzu for who she is as a person because we see them grow attached to her in !-era. But the wizards....have literally only met akira? They have never met this human before. They literally do not know this human at all. But now they have to convince this person from a completely other world to be on their side. This person who they may not even get along with.

Which is why i feel like they HAD to be nice to akira at the beginning because they NEEDED akira for something (summoning new wizards, and then later lifting curses temporarily). I think that one talk between shino and akira really highlighted this to me, where akira was asking why shino wanted to get stronger and more popular so badly, and shino straight up tells akira to think about what person they were in their own world. And how powerless they'd be here if it wasn't for their position of being a sage given to them.

But also i do definitely feel like the wizards eventually get closer to Akira as well and not just The Sage. Like, that one story where snow and white get akira an invitation to a christmas market, i absolutely cannot imagine that they've done anything like that for the previous sage. Honestly the previous sage and the current sage akira feel like they're worlds apart even though they are from the same world lol.

I think that, very much like anzu, akira also puts in all effort for the people they care about, and just like anzu, also at the cost of their own health (yeah they never overworked themselves and collapsed like anzu but the amount of life threatning situations they've been in...man, definitely makes up for that).

Wow i've been rambling for a while. TL;DR: i love both akira and anzu and want to kiss them on their foreheads and tell them they are doing a good job

Also i cannot blame you for yume-ing snowhi at all because they are so painfully comforting towards akira, i feel like it'd be impossible to not feel comforted as a reader yourself. Snowhi to akira reminds me of those videos of people finding baby birds in their backyards and taking them in and caring for them.

When I think meta I always consider the POV character their own character, but when I am reading/playing/referring to in-story events I am always like "hey that's us, it's me and the protag".

It's generally a mix. Like when Akira is thirsting after Mithra or Heath I am like "lol valid" but when snowhi is holding their hands and comforting them after something scary happens I am suddenly like 🥺🥺🥺 they're holding MY hands 🥺🥺 they're telling me I am a good child 🥺 they're patting my head 🥺

The Yume experience is so real.

[How to 1200 City of Affluence Guide]

This is a guide for some tips and tricks I’ve found to get an all 1200 chibi in the City of Affluence. Since you will need some specific card skills, magic biscuits and a lot of luck on your side, this will be geared more towards advanced players. If anyone has another tip they would like to add, please message me!

Now, before diving into gimmicks, you will need the right team to be able to 1200 City of Affluence. There are many useful card skills to bring along, so here are some of my recommendations.

Essential Skill: パート開始時、一定の確率でメインキャラの＿＿+50

This skill means “at the beginning of each part, there is a chance for the main character to receive +50 on a certain parameter.” The parameter (passion, happy, relax, etc.) will be determined by the parameter of the card itself. For example, since White Snow Rustica is a happy card, he will have a chance to raise the happy parameter by 50 points at the beginning of each part.

This is essential, so I recommend you bring at least 3 cards with this skill with different parameters. You can easily find these cards by searching パート開始時、一定, but make sure you’re using +50 cards and not +40 cards. While +40 cards also work, it will be more difficult to reach 1200 with them.

Here are my +50 cards. If I was building a team, I could choose Pararoid Rustica, Valentine Chloe, Initial Heathcliff, and Initial Cain since they all have different parameters (Cool, Passion, Pride, and Relax respectively).

Non-Essential Skill: 毎ターンのスタミナ回復量+10 This skill means “after every turn, your stamina will be restored by 10 points.” Since the City of Affluence requires a lot of stamina, this will be extremely useful to bring. As of right now, there are only two SSRs with this skill: Initial Lennox and Prelude Rustica.

Non-Essential Skill: ターン終了��、一定の確率でメインキャラのスタミナ+50 This skill means “at the end of every turn, there will be a chance of your stamina increasing by 50 points.” The probability of this skill activating will rise the lower your stamina drops. As of right now, there are only three SSRs with this skill: Initial Cain, Initial Owen, and Prelude Shylock.

Non-Essential Skill: 一緒に交流すると、10%の確率で成功を大成功にする This skill means “you will have a 10% chance of triggering a great success.” This is the least useful non-essential skill, but it may still be helpful in getting your points up to 1200. You can easily search for this skill with 成功を大成功.

Alright! Time to put it all together! Below is my team build for making a White Snow Rustica chibi. Their relevant card skills are as follows:

Pararoid Rustica: Cool +50, 10% Great Success

Prelude Rustica: +10 Stamina Restore

Initial Heathcliff: Pride +50, 10% Great Success

Initial Cain: Relax +50, +50 Stamina Restore

White Snow Rustica: Happy +50

Now that we have a team, it’s time to start playing City of Affluence! Make sure to bring 3 biscuits along whether that be Magic Biscuits or Chocolate Biscuits. Magic Biscuits will help you get to 1200, but Chocolate Biscuits will be sufficient for a 999.

City of Affluence Gimmick

The most important factor for 1200-ing City of Affluence is unfortunately... luck. Success in this location largely depends on your Tea Party Level and how fast you can raise it.

Your Tea Party Level increases every 5 Interaction Levels which is determined by adding all of your parameter levels together. I've started with as low as 7 Interaction Levels and as high as 16 Interaction Levels. I believe what you get is entirely up to chance, but if anyone can figure out the system, please let me know!

Now why is this important?

Your Tea Party Level determines the different kinds of tea you can serve. A new tea will be unlocked with each level except Special Tea which can appear at random any time.

To serve tea, you will need to raise the Preparation Level. The Preparation Level will...

+15% every successful turn

+10% for every parameter gain outside of training such as skills like the +50 cards or sub-episodes

-10% every failed turn

For our purposes, you will want to focus on Iced Tea since it will boost your parameter levels fastest, even if Herbal Tea is unlocked from the beginning.

Additionally, parameters will increase the more you interact with them. As a result, I like to interact with ONE parameter until it levels up—usually the one with the lowest parameter level. For example, in the picture below, I tapped on the passion parameter until it went from level 1 to level 2. Then, I moved onto the cool parameter.

The purpose of choosing low-leveled parameters is because the max parameter level is 10. If you have level 9 or 10 parameters, it might be better to switch to Herbal Tea to ensure you don't waste a turn.

What is the goal of raising Tea Party Level?

Essentially, you want to raise your Tea Party Level to 5 by the beginning of part 3. At Tea Party Level 5, you will permanently unlock Special Tea and the ability to serve two teas at a time.

It can be difficult to get to Tea Party Level 5 at the beginning of part 3. However, this is important because you will need a 100% Preparation Level and full or near-full stamina bar by the END of part 3.

Now here's where we 1200!

At 2 turns from the end of part 3, serve a Blended Tea and Special Tea (with sweets if you have them). The following turn, activate all 3 of your Magic/Chocolate Biscuits that you brought with you. Then, interact with a parameter that you do NOT have a +50 bonus card for. In my team build above, since I have a +50 card for Cool, Pride, Relax, and Happy parameters, I would interact with the Passion parameter.

This should give your chosen parameter a significant bonus, potentially leveling it to 1200. (As an extra tip, you may want to avoid interacting with this parameter in the first two parts since it will be heavily boosted here).

-> If you did NOT reach 100% Preparation Level by turn 2, activate your Biscuits on the last turn anyways. Your Biscuit bonus WILL carry over to part 4 which may be useful.

-> If you did NOT reach Tea Party Level 5 by part 3, serve Special Tea. The 30% bonus will carry over to part 4.

Now, at the start of part 4, your +50 cards should be activating. However, because of your Biscuit and Special Tea bonus, instead of +50, they should raise your parameters by +390 each (if you are using 3 Magic Biscuits; Chocolate Biscuits will give you a lower increase).

You should now have close to 1200 on all parameters! All that's left to do is to use the rest of part 4 to clean up those stats (which is where your great success cards may come in handy). Enjoy your new 1200 chibi and pray that it ends up being the correct one!

hello! i made this guide because i couldn't find any other guides in english about this location. the gimmick is pretty fun to use, but it’s quite detailed(?) in terms of how the mechanics work. i’ve gone in depth to explain it, so please enjoy the gimmick well~

when you first start, there will be a button which says “ お茶会 “ [tea party] with a bar on the top. successful training interactions will raise the percentage of the bar by 15%, while unsuccessful ones will lower the percentage by 10%. in order to hold a tea party and use the gimmick, the bar must be at 100%! resting will not affect the percentage. pressing on the button will lead to a menu where you can choose different teas and sweets to serve at your party.

there’s quite a lot of information to cover for each part of the menu, so i’ve cropped the picture for each part to point it out.

the top of the menu

the brown box at the left will display the お茶会Lv. [tea party level], the teas unlocked (signaled by a filled cup of tea), and the 交流Lv. [exchange level]. to the right, all the levels of the training attributes are shown for easier reference.

the exchange level corresponds to the amount of levels each training attribute has. after unlocking a certain amount of 交流 levels, in this case 10, the tea party level will rise and another type of tea will be unlocked.

about tea party level 5: level 5 is the maximum and is only unlocked once you have 25  交流 levels. it unlocks the special drink (if you haven’t unlocked it by chance already) and allows you to serve two drinks and sweets at once! here’s what it looks like (i reached the 10 image limit lol)

the bottom of the menu

the section in the middle, marked by 選んでください [please choose], displays all the teas and sweets you can serve! click on the teas and sweets to place them on the plates at the top.

different kinds of teas are obtained by raising your tea party level, and sweets are obtained by resting. the bonuses and stamina needed for each type of tea to be served are displayed in the text box at the top. pairing the tea with sweets will generally lower the stamina cost by 4, but combining certain teas and sweets will cut the stamina cost in half. there’s more information for tea bonuses and pairing teas and sweets in the last section!

finally, the button at the bottom says 開催 [hold]. pressing on it when the percentage bar is at 100% will allow you to hold the tea party and serve whichever teas and sweets you chose, giving you the bonuses from said teas!

tea bonuses

as a reminder, matching sweets will lower the stamina cost of the tea by half while any other sweets will lower stamina cost by 4. the only exception to this is the special tea, which has its stamina cost lowered by half when paired with any type of sweets.

tea party level needed: 1 (unlocked automatically) bonus: random training attribute level +1 stamina cost (no sweets): -20 matching sweet: parfait

tea party level needed: 3 bonus: for the next turn, whichever training attribute is chosen will have its level raised by 2. stamina cost: -20 matching sweet: pie

tea party level: 4 bonus: for the next turn, the effects of the training parameter chosen will be raised by 60% matching sweet: scone(? i’m not sure what this is lol)

the special tea appears at random. once it does, the special tea will not disappear until you serve it. bonus: for 3 turns, the effect of whichever training parameter chosen will be increased by 30%. (you can choose up to 3 different parameters; one every turn!) stamina cost: -30 any snack will lower the stamina cost by half!

“Hurry, come this way…!”

You can’t help but laugh. Isn’t this just your luck, being caught in a sudden storm while out on a mission with the blonde haired male? Usually Shino would accompany you and your boyfriend on missions like this, but this time he had to go somewhere with Nero and Faust, so that left you alone with Heathcliff this time. Your mission wasn’t even hard; all you were supposed to do was investigate why this nearby lake had been drying out in a village that relied on it as their water source since it hardly ever rained in this area. You suspected it was a result of the Great Catastrophe, but before you both could even make it to the village, it started raining. In an area where it never rained. You swear you didn’t know if this was supposed to be funny or not.

What wasn’t funny was this rain, though. It was pouring pretty quickly, quickly setting into your clothes and your hair and you were pretty sure there were puddles in your shoes. Heathcliff guides you by your hand to the tree with the best cover you two will get, and you places your hands on your knees as you hunch over in exhaustion, sighing tiredly as Heath leans against a nearby tree, catching his breath from running. “What’re the chances of this…?” He starts off, some sort of a breathy laugh leaving his lips as you chuckle in response.

“Tell me about it. Are we just unlucky, or what?”

You examine your clothing, which is heavy with water now, and while usually you would use magic to dry them out, the shade of the tree wasn’t the best and you were still being hit with rain drops. Granted it wasn’t as heavy and intense as before, but it would be a waste and a bother to constantly dry your clothes out. You’ll wait till the rain lets up, you decide, and with that being said you stand up straight, leaning against the tree with your boyfriend. A comfortable silence fills the space between you two, and your fingers gently reach out to curl around his. He doesn’t seem to be expecting it, so he jumps slightly out of alarm. Heathcliff was always so jumpy with romantic affection, but it’s not like you disliked that about him. After all, it was cute being able to fluster him so easily.

After he gets over his initial embarrassment and the fact that nobody is there, he holds your hand gently, your fingers interlocked with one another. It was nice being able to do these things with Heath, even in a bad or unexpected situation. You felt like things couldn’t even be that bad as long as he was by your side, as selfish as that may sound. But Heath seems to share your sentiments, if the way his face is flushed and the small smile on his lips is any indication. You both reach a silent conclusion to simply wait here until the rain lightens a bit, and you’re fine with that.

Well, until you remember something the Sage told you.

‘You know, a common trope in my world is kissing your partner in the rain! I’m surprised it’s not super common in this world…’

You find yourself suddenly intrigued by this idea. Why would kissing in the rain be so common in the Sage’s world? Isn’t the rain annoying? Why bring your partner into it just to kiss? At first you thought it seemed stupid, since humans don’t have magic like you do and would be forced to dry off the normal way… But, well, you were a wizard after all, and you two had to dry off later anyway… Surely it couldn’t hurt.

Having made up your mind, you push off the tree and start walking forward, making Heath cry out in alarm and stumble after you. “H-Hey, why are you dragging me back into the rain…?!” He says this, but isn’t making an attempt to stop you, despite his hesitation. You simply hum carefreely, not bothering to answer him until you’re both standing in the rain, and you turn yourself to face him.

“The Sage told me this was something they did in his world a lot, and I wanted to try it.”

“You could’ve warned me beforehand…!”

“You wouldn’t have done it if I told you!”

“What are you even planning-?”

You decide to cut him off by leaning forward, your hands untangling themselves from his hand and instead one of them situates itself on the back of his head, your lips gently meeting his. He seems genuinely startled, his hands scrambling to rest themselves on your waist as he lets his eyes close quickly, his mind overheating and refusing to let him keep his eyes open in embarrassment. It doesn’t take long before you feel him start to kiss you back, and you hum happily as your other hand rests on his shoulder. Is it just you, or do his lips taste sweeter than usual…? There’s no way the rain is affecting that, right?

The two of you sit there for a moment, kissing and holding one another like you’re the only people in the world. You think you’d be ok with that, honestly, but that was another thought for another day. After a moment you both pull away, needing air after sitting there stealing each other’s for a good minute or so. His face is bright red, and you can’t tell if that’s all from embarrassment or if that’s just from the rain, but you find yourself laughing before you know it. He speaks up, tightening his grip on your waist playfully. “Remind me to never let the Sage give you anymore ideas…”

“Aww, so you didn’t like it?”

“…I never said that.”

You laugh again, allowing Heathcliff to drag you back to the shaded tree while lecturing you about ‘no more surprises right now’. You had to remind yourself to thank the Sage when you got back.
