P.S. Wow! Basically MG4 XPower is family hatchback and significantly more affordable vehicle. Imagine how embarrassing it will be for many arrogant rich people driving expensive ICE vehicles when an ordinary electric family car humiliates them in daily traffic...! It will be fun...!!! MG4 is changing the game...The only drawback is that the MG4 is not available in all European countries. Only this saves the management of Volkswagen from a very big humiliation.

Imagine, a person has paid a lot of money for, say, an expensive A6 diesel or any other premium ICE vehicle, only to find out that the rich man is humiliated by a very ordinary family hatchback...I might also spend the extra 4k just to see embarrassed faces of petrolheads...! That would be real fun...!

How does supercar performance in a practical hatchback shape for less than the cost of a basic VW ID3 sound? Good? Because that’s what this MG4 delivers. It’s called the MG4 XPower - and it’s the most powerful MG… ever made. The MG4 XPower has 429bhp from a pair of electric motors, 201bhp in the front and 228bhp in the back. So it’s also got all-wheel drive. That means it’s got the grip to get from rest to 62mph in less than four seconds - 3.8 if we’re being picky - and on to a limited top speed of 124mph. And that’s basically as fast as a Porsche 911 Carrera S. This is what we’d call a bit of a sleeper - a car that doesn’t look fast, but actually is. In fact, unless you knew that the orange calipers for the big brakes behind those special 18-inch wheels were unique to the XPower, you might think it was the Trophy version. No massive bodykit, no huge wide arches. It is a bit lower and a tiny bit wider, but not so’s you’d notice. But it’s got a similar face, the same double rear spoiler, the same general look. P.S. Wow! What a huge humiliation for Volkswagen management!? If MG (SAIC) can deliver them smoothly enough without long delays then Volkswagen and all the other legacy automakers will be in big trouble...The funniest thing is that practically all electric car industry experts and legacy automakers already knew in 2017/2018 that it is technically possible to build affordable long-range electric cars quite soon...but the outdated legacy automakers chose to drag their feet and write complaints to politicians that it "cannot" be done quickly...

And how does the new MG4 xPower  perform - what are the pros / cons?  In terms of data the 61.7 kWh lithium-ion battery will offer 0 – 62 times of 3.8 seconds, 99 mph top speeds and 320 kW (or 429 hp). This model is a RWD option. Expect a combined winter range of 170 miles with warmer weather allowing for 230 miles. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 6 hour and 45 minutes 0 – 100% charging times with the 135 kW DC maximum allowing 34 minute 10 – 80% times. A small hatchback / city-car, this has a limited cargo volume of 363L and vehicle fuel equivalent of 134 mpg. This EV cannot tow.

In terms of the Pros - this is one of the quickest EVs in the UK and undoubtedly the best all-electric hot-hatch. The car is spacious for the family, even though it is a “small” options. A reasonable 200 mile real world range does mean it is practical still.

On Cons - the top speed of 99mph may put off the keenest of motor performance fans. And the interior is a little bland compared to other options.

MG4 XPower 2024 - Nouveau modèle phare de la gamme primée MG4 EV

La passionnante nouvelle MG4 XPOWER est la MG de série la plus puissante à ce jour et l'une des nouvelles voitures les plus attendues de 2023.

Voici arrivé la nouvelle MG4 XPower 2024. Aujourd'hui, MG dispose d'une gamme de produits relativement utilitaires prêts à renouer avec ses racines sportives. Sa MG4 électrique compacte sera bientôt complétée par une version beaucoup plus puissante baptisée XPower et dotée d'un énorme 435 ch. Le rapport qualité prix est inégalé.

Alors que la marque MG s'apprête à fêter ses 100 ans en 2024 ! on dirait qu'il a retrouvé le goût du sport. Lors du précédent salon de l'automobile de Shanghai en avril, la société avait déjà dévoilé le Cyberstar ! un roadster inédit qui a ramené un style de carrosserie particulièrement important dans l'histoire de l'entreprise. Mais si vous voulez avoir la possibilité d'avoir un passager sur le siège arrière, ne la manquez pas. Pour eux, les constructeurs chinois et britanniques s'apprêtent à lancer une version très puissante de la compacte MG4. Il en a profité pour dénicher le label XPower qui étiquetait les supercars top secrètes au début des années 2000. Cette nouvelle version pour l'Europe disposera de deux moteurs électriques de 204 ch à l'avant et 245 ch à l'arrière. La transmission intégrale est donc installée pour faire bon usage des 435 chevaux et 600 Nm de couple nécessaires au total. Un prix super canon En théorie, ces chiffres sont suffisants pour battre les "concurrents" encore fidèles thermiquement. Renault Megane R.S. à la fin de sa carrière atteint une puissance maximale de 300 ch et 420 Nm. La nouvelle Honda Civic Type R revendique "un peu moins" de 329 chevaux. Elle bat même la redoutable Mercedes-AMG A45 S avec 421 chevaux. Grâce à la nouvelle fonction "Launch Control" ! la MG4 XPower devrait accélérer de 0 à 100 km/h en seulement 3,8 secondes. Mieux que le Tesla Model 3 Long Range. D'autre part, le modèle haute performance du break américain affiche une accélération encore plus rapide de 3,3 secondes pour le même mouvement. Malgré la double électrification, ces deux voitures ne jouent de toute façon pas exactement le même terrain. Non seulement la MG est plus courte de 40 cm que la Tesla ? mais elle a également l'air et se sent moins chère. Les prix et l'autonomie ne seront officiellement annoncés que le 17 juillet ? date à laquelle les commandes commenceront à être passées. Or, selon les confrères d'Automoto de TF1 qui ont pu tester un prototype en avant-première sur le salon. Le XPower devrait s'affiché à 37 000 €, moins 5 000 € de bonus environnemental. La Model 3 Performance proposée au prix de 53 990 € et n'a donc pas droit à cette subvention de l'État. Suspension, direction et freinage améliorés Le châssis compact sportif a également subi quelques modifications par rapport à la voiture à propulsion arrière actuelle ? produisant jusqu'à 204 ch. MG a déclaré avoir renforcé la suspension de 25% en inspectant à la fois les barres anti-roulis et les ressorts ou amortisseurs. Il y a eu un réajustement de la direction et une augmentation du diamètre des disques de frein. La transmission intégrale peut également distribuer "intelligemment" le couple du moteur électrique aux quatre roues. Un blocage de différentiel électronique tente de compenser l'absence d'un véritable différentiel autobloquant. C'est toujours du MG4 de fabrication chinoise. L'événement présentera également un concept appelé EX4 ! inspiré du Metro 6R4 que MG utilisait dans le groupe B dans les années 1980.
