MFMM Year of Tropes: September’s Challenge

I feel like I say this every month, but the creativity in this fandom astounds me! August’s The Dulcinea Effect was, I was sure, going to result in crickets as we tried to make this trope fit our beloved Miss Fisher. And yet we did it, repeatedly, and the results were fantastic.

It is September, and that means that it’s time for our new trope…

Rumours and Gossip

Shh, Jack, Frederick Burns might have something to say about this...

There were several tropes suggested that seemed to fall under this umbrella--the Fake Rake (a character with a reputation of promiscuity who is not) and Gossip Evolution among them. Possible inspirations there, but don’t feel confined! Anything to do with rumours and gossip is welcome.

The collection is Don’t Believe the Rumours (MFMMSept2017), and will be open from today until the beginning of October. As always, everyone is invited to participate--there are no length limits or rules, just add your fic inspired by this month’s trope to the collection sometime between now and closing. And have fun!
