girlfriend comes off to me as just, hyper obsessive and a toxic attitude for one woman to have towards a man who already has a girlfriend. there is no proof given in that song that he actually likes avril, besides avril just insisting “I KNOW YOU LIKE ME. I SEE HOW YOU LOOK AT ME” which, is just really creepy. there is no context of like, ok maybe this guy is avril’s friend or ex and they actually have really good chemistry, and there’s no context given between the guy and the girlfriend, so when you look past the surface reading of “yeah fuck preppy girls why’s he dating such a bitch!” it comes off as avril being an absolute maniac stalker, trying to drive a wedge between what you must assume is a perfectly happy couple. like, look at these lyrics. she’s absolutely infatuated and obsessed, she knows nothing about him just that hes fucking hot and she wants him

“You're so fine I want you mine You're so delicious I think about you all the time You're so addictive Don't you know what I can do To make you feel all right?”

and the fact that she also says things like “make your girlfriend disappear” and “i dont wanna hear you say her name ever again” makes me think like!! BOY! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM AVRIL LAVIGNE!! SHE IS DANGEROUS AND CONTROLLING. avril lavigne is the type of girl that gets mad at you for having a code on your phone cos she wants to check it to make sure you’re not talking to any girls. she has to know all your passwords online. she probably puts a gps tracker in your car. she doesn’t want you having any friends

not to mention the music video is just cruel like i cant watch it without feeling so bad for the girlfriend. she didn’t deserve any of this shes the target of a cruel and malicious stalker
