@slow-drowned-angels submitted: A little spider I found in [removed] [remove location]. Could I get an ID? For reference, the black stripe it’s sitting on is ~ 1 cm. Thank you! I really love this blog.

Thanks! I really love this blog too :) Clearer photos for the abdominal markings would help ID this jumping spider as it’s not very distinct. Just based on these photos, though, without much confidence, my best guess is Mexigonus morosus :)

Jumping spiders of 2022:

Salticus palpalis, Synageles sp., Habronattus pyrrithrix, Phidippus adumbratus,  Sassacus vitis, Phanias sp., Colonus hesperus, Mexigonus sp., Phidippus sp., and... unknown.

Except for the first one, all of them were in my backyard!

Noticed this little friend while looking out the window, a very smol Mexigonus minutus. Also caught a video of this jumper doing a little problem solving!

That faaaaace. Too cute. Jumping spiders are so dang smart! Truly impressive. Thanks for sharing this jumpy lil friend :)
