The story of the fifth sun. Tecciztecatl was supposed to be the fifth sun, but too cowardly to jump into the sacrificial fire. But the humble Nanahuatzin was brave enough and jumped in before Tecciztecatl, becoming Tonatiuh, the fifth sun. From the ashes of the fire, jaguars gained their spots and eagles white feathers were darkened. #nanahuatzin#tonatiuh#fivesuns#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgod#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B2a4Bn7p4x1/?igshid=vf44n9kavb5k

When the gods announced their sacrifice Tonatiuh, one amongst them, Xolotl tried to escape fate. Running from Quetzalcoatl, he hid first as a crop of corn, then as a maguey plant, then as an axolotl. He was then caught and sacrificed by Quetzalcoatl #xolotl#axolotl#quetzalcoatl#fivesuns#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgod#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B3gEAoNg48y/?igshid=mp0ygrpr9ecc

After following the red ant to the mountain of sustenance, Quetzalcoatl went back to Tamoanchan (the realm of the gods) carrying a few kernels of the corn he discovered there. The God's determined it would be a suitable food source for the humans and tasked Quetzalcoatl with bringing them the mountain. He tried lifting and blowing the mountain, but it was too much for him to carry. #quetzalcoatl#maize#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgod#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B5Gmbp9p8-G/?igshid=1fckmi246dlvg

The story of the moon. Not wanting to be embarrassed by Nanahuatzin, Tecciztecatl jumped into the sacrificial fire after him, causing two suns to rise. The Earth became unbearably hot and bright, so Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli threw a rabbit at Tecciztecatl, dimming his brilliance so that he could only be seen in the night. He became the moon. #tecciztecatl#tlahuizcalpantecuhtli#moongod#fivesuns#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgod#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B2p2InIgln3/?igshid=tzt2viccspm6

The story of the third sun. Tlaloc was chosen to be the third sun. During his time as the sun, Tezcatlipoca seduced Tlaloc's wife, Xochiquetzal. In his grief, Tlaloc refused to do any of his duties, throwing the world into a drought. The story of the second sun. Quetzalcoatl was chosen to be the sun of the second creation. The people of the Earth didn't show proper reverence to the God's, so Tezcatlipoca turned them into monkeys. In frustration, Quetzalcoatl caused winds to blow them all away. #tezcatlipoca#thesmokingmirror#quetzalcoatl#fivesuns#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgod#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B2DGXJKJ3vv/?igshid=etb26fgrf9ap

An alternate version of the sun myth. The Earth goddess Coatlicue was impregnated by a ball of feathers. Her pregnancy angered her daughter, Coyolxauhqui, who plotted to kill her. But Huitzilopochtli burst from his mother fully grown and radiant, and defended her from his sister. He decapitated Coyolxauhqui and threw her head into the sky where it became the moon. To this day, the Sun (Huitzilopochtli) and the moon chase each other in the sky. #huitzilopochtli#coyolxauhqui#coatlique#xiuhcoatl#sungod#fivesuns#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgod#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B27UxBmJj5D/?igshid=uuf165urqubs

The story of the fourth sun. Chalchiuhtlicue was selected to be the sun of the fourth creation. She was very benevolent toward the people, but Tezcatlipoca told her she was only faking kindness in order to gain praise. This upset Chalchiuhtlicue to the point of crying blood for the next half century. The resulting flood drowned every human except those who turned into fish to survive. #chalchiuhtlicue#tezcatlipoca#thesmokingmirror#fivesuns#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgoddess#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B2VaBgqJPYq/?igshid=1s0v7pngsfxpf

The story of the first sun. To give light to the new world, a sun was needed. Tezcatlipoca was selected to be that sun, but he could only become half a sun. His brother Quetzalcoatl knocked Tezcatlipoca from the sky, enfuriating him into commanding the jaguars to eat all of the first people #tezcatlipoca#thesmokingmirror#quetzalcoatl#fivesuns#mexica#mexicamythology#mexicamyth#aztecgod#aztec#aztecart#aztecmyth#aztecmythology#myth#mythology#occult#occultart#darkart#art https://www.instagram.com/p/B2AgY93JyZc/?igshid=1btbej8xavh32
