A year ago I came out to Hawaii not knowing what to expect. Within a few months I started a Hawaii Professionals Happy Hour 🏝🍻🤙 group that we hosted on clubhouse weekly for almost half a year. It was a great way to meet local entrepreneurs and helped me to learn the local business landscape. As i learned more, I kept thinking Hawaii would be an amazing place to become a global hub for technology… Invite some programmers, have a week long hackathon, catch some sun and pop out the next big tech startup! The beautiful thing about tech is that it isn’t location dependent. With a global adoption of remote working, I thought Hawaii could be an attractive middle ground for tech talent in Asia and the US to collaborate. Last year I dove into NFTs and became fascinated with the technology. I believe that NFTs have become the cultural adopted understanding of blockchain technology and has the potential to shift so many industries. I started @nft4good to create what I believe was the first charitable effort utilizing NFTs and ended up raising $80k to #stopasianhate with the help of the Asian American community. I saw how powerful a tool NFTs could be and started trying to see if we could also integrate it with locals here in Hawaii.
