Metal Stitching of Engine Block

RA Power Solutions was advised about an accident of auxiliary engine Yanmar 6M220L-SN (A/E#01) by a Greece based company whom we are serving for the last 15 years.

Team of two technicians was sent on board the vessel and following main observation was made:

I) Counter weight bolts sheared off due to which the engine block got damaged by the counterweights.

II) The impact was so high that multiple cracks were observed on both sides of the engine block measuring more than 122 inches.
