What about Reid with a ballerina spouse (gn or fem) I don’t really have any idea for it other than Spencer has kept the relationship a secret from the team but they’ve been kind of suspicious and find out some how? Maybe the kind of spy on him and see him going into one of her shows and at the end of the show they see him kissing her or something
“I gotta get going guys, see you all tomorrow!”
“Wait wait, hold on now. What’s got you in such a hurry?”
Derek watched as Spencer quickly put away the files on his desk and threw his satchel over his shoulder, he seemed awfully eager to leave.
“Oh uh… The library’s closing earlier than usual today and there’s this one book I really want to read, so gotta go before it closes. Bye!”
Spencer strode off leaving the rest of the team very confused. They noticed that Spencer’s been leaving earlier than usual and he always had a different excuse.
“I have a dentist appointment.”
“I have to go and get more postage stamps before the post office closes.”
He had used nearly every excuse in the book and knowing his brain capacity, he’d probably never run out of them.
“Penelope, can you-”
“Already on it my love and… it’s false, he’s definitely hiding something.”
“Anybody up for a stake out?”
Derek and Penelope turned their heads at Emily, both of their eyebrows knitted together at the suggestion thrown out.
“Prentiss, you’re serious?”
“C’mon, aren’t you curious? Reid’s never one to shy away from talking about something.”
“That is true.”
“Oh, c’mon Derek! We’ll be super discreet! We can even dress in all black and be like spies!”
Derek turned his head at Penelope and chuckled over the excitement he saw in Penelope’s eyes.
“Garcia, we're the FBI.”
“I know, but I’ve always loved those spy sequences in movies.”
Both Emily and Derek laughed at Penelope’s excitement over the idea of having a stakeout over one of their friends. It really wasn’t like Spencer to not tell them about something, everyone on the team was like a family and they were usually some of the first people on the know about big news.
A couple of hours later after Penelope managed to track down Spencer’s location through his phone, the team were surprised when they ended up at a theater.
Looking around the area, they spotted a poster for the upcoming show that was set to start in 10 minutes, the show in question? A performance of Swan Lake.
“Why would Spencer come to see a ballet performance?”
“I think I know why.”
Turning their heads, Emily and Derek look over to Penelope and see her motion to Spencer and an unfamiliar woman with him. The two of them seem to be talking and laughing, but not in just a friendly manner. Spencer’s hand held onto the woman’s lightly and his thumb brushed over her knuckles, a sign of something more than just friendship. The woman seemed to get called to get into her position, but before she turned to leave she pressed a quick kiss to Spencer’s lips and hurried off, leaving Spencer smiling like a fool.
“My man.”
Spencer jumped in his shoes when he heard Derek’s voice. He turned around and saw the grinning faces of his coworkers walking over to him.
“What’re you guys doing here?”
“We had some suspicions, so we bit the bullet and decided to check up on you.”
“And by “check up” you mean follow me?”
The three of them looked at each other, slightly embarrassed at their decision, but were met with Spencer chuckling a moment later.
“You guys are impossible.”
“So who was that pretty lady?”
“Y/N, we met at a coffee shop a few months ago and we’ve been on a few dates. It’s been going pretty well.”
“And she’s a ballerina?”
“Yeah, she’s amazing! I’ve seen her rehearse and this is the second show of hers I’m seeing.”
“If she’s really that good then we gotta see it.”
Penelope flew to buy the tickets, clearly very excited to see the new talent perform. As they all got to their seats and the lighting dimmed, everyone watched the performance with excitement, waiting for your turn.
When the performance ended, you were surprised to see a group of people following Spencer along. One of the ladies, who seemed very eager, walked up to you and gushed about the performance you put on.
“You were so graceful! I haven't seen such light movement in, well, ever!”
The woman’s compliments, who’s name turned out to be Penelope as you made out from the rest of the guests, went straight to your heart.
The other visitors, whose names were Emily and Derek, complimented you on your performance as well, but all your attention was on the man behind them who had an adoring smile on his face, one that was clearly directed at you.
“I wasn’t aware Spencer invited you along.”
“He didn’t. We got curious because he’s been a bit suspicious lately and had to see what was causing it.”
“I mean I knew you all worked for the FBI but I didn’t know you were that nosey.”
Everyone laughed at the comment which made you feel a bit more welcomed along with them.
“What can we say, some things you just can’t help but be curious about.”

“You know, I never realized how true the ‘eyes are the windows to your soul’ thing was until I saw yours.” + fluff + cafe AU ; requested by @kiv1!
He’s sure Danny didn’t expect to see him every other day after he casually mentioned that he had gotten a part time job at a local cafe. However, as his friend, it is Duke’s moral duty to only get coffee from that shop while Danny is on shift, specifically to annoy him.
Also, so he can support his friend, but being annoying takes priority.
It’s a routine now, for both of them. Danny clocks in for his shift and an hour later Duke is strolling into the cafe with his eyes locked on Danny’s. The rest of the baristas always shove Danny up to the register when they see Duke, taking over whatever order he was making. Even some of the other regulars turn their attention up to the counter, hoping for another few minutes of entertainment.
Danny sighs as he gets ready to input Duke’s order. It’s never the same one, because Duke would hate to be predictable and make things easier for Danny, but it has the side effect of making him realize that some of the expensive, seasonal drinks are really good.
It’s a bit hard on his wallet, but it’s a price he’s willing to pay for teasing Danny.
“Hey,” he greets cheerfully as he leans against the counter, grinning at Danny.
Danny sighs again. “What can I get you today, random customer that keeps bothering me.”
“A latte, but make it sweet somehow. And iced.”
“What size would you like?”
“Let’s go with medium today.”
“Anything else?”
“Yeah.” Duke leans closer to Danny, watching as he fights down a smile. “I just gotta say that you got gorgeous eyes. You know, I never realized how true the ‘eyes are the window to your soul thing’ was until I saw yours.”
Danny considers this for a moment, then shakes his head. “It kind of sounds like your trying to steal my soul through my eyes.”
“Why is that what your mind goes to?”
“Well. I watched Coraline last night.”
Duke stares at Danny, taking in the dark circles under his eyes. “...Didn’t you say that movie gave you nightmares as a kid?”
“Yeah! And it turns out, it gives me nightmares even now!”
“And ruined my pick up line,” Duke complains playfully.
“It was too cheesy anyways,” Danny replies, putting Duke’s order into the screen. It prints a moment later, no doubt with some bizarre name since Danny refuses to actually name Duke on his orders, and then recites the price.
He pays and watches as Danny slaps the order onto a medium sized up, then tosses it over to the barista making the drinks. He’s not actually sure what her name is since she refuses to wear a name tag, but she always gives him a wave and also a rating of how good his pick up lines are.
“Seven out of ten!” she calls out to him today, then gets started on making his drink.
“I don’t see why you don’t flirt with anyone else,” Danny says, “I’m pretty sure my coworkers like your pick up lines even more than they like me.”
“Why would I want to flirt with them? Danny, I’m literally only here to bother you.”
Danny rolls his eyes. “Yeah, trust me, I know. My good looks just keep pulling in business.”
He says it like a joke, but it’s true. Duke has noticed it. Danny’s coworkers have noticed it. His manager noticed it and now has him out on the floor every shift. If they can get him to work on the chalkboard sign outside, or wipe down the two tables out front, then they do it, because Danny is Midwestern to his core and it’s very charming in a place like Gotham. He smiles at people as they walk by, happily answers their questions when they ask him what the cafe serves, recommends food and drinks for them, is generally a bright and nice person to everyone who comes near the cafe.
His cute looks draw people in, then his personality makes them stay.
It’s all customer service, of course, because Duke never gets the cute, sunny Danny. He’s left with the sarcastic, rude, and funny Danny that’s been his friend since they met in junior year of high school.
“Your eyes are really pretty, though,” Duke says, “Very blue. Sometimes green. It’s no wonder people keep falling for you!”
Danny reaches across the counter to shove Duke away, but he’s blushing, so Duke is counting it as a win. “Shut up. Now you’re just lying. My eyes are never green.”
“Yes, they are. Danny, I’ve seen them multiple times. They’re green sometimes.”
“No? My eyes have literally only ever been blue. They’re the bluest blue to ever blue. They don’t just turn green.”
They squint at each other for a long moment, trying to figure out who’s wrong and in what way. Duke’s pretty sure Danny’s wrong, since he can’t exactly see his own eyes, and Duke has spent an embarrassing amount of time just admiring how nice they are in different kinds of light. But also, they are Danny’s eyes, so he should know what color they are.
Then Danny’s coworker is setting down Duke’s drink on the pick up counter, giving Danny an excuse to get back to work.
“One medium oatmeal cookie iced latte for Cornelius Aggravating Douglas.” He holds up the drink and makes very direct eye contact with Duke, holding out the drink towards him.
“Did you really have to make the initials ‘Cad’?”
“Yes.”
“Fair enough,” Duke says, making Danny crack a smile.
“Are you heading out after this?”
Duke grabs a straw and sticks it into his latte, swirling it around some. “That was the plan, yeah. Got a few library books to pick up. Why?”
“I got approval for a half shift today, so I’m off in like ten minutes, if you wanna wait for me.”
“Hell yeah, dude! I’ll wait outside so I don’t distract you with my flirtatious winks again.”
“Get out of here,” Danny laughs. Duke lifts his drink in a quick toast, then gets out of there. He takes a seat at one of the tables out front, content to just people watch as he slowly sips his latte.
It’s cloudy out, but not raining, which is always a plus. As much as he’d like to see the sun, these kinds of days aren’t so bad, either. The wind still carries a bit of a chill, but the spring is steadily warming things up. There are tons of people out, a constant rush of movement, but a few do catch sight of him, then look towards the cafe, their steps slowing down as they think. Most keep walking, but Duke does manage to get a few to go in just by taking a long sip of his latte to really enjoy it.
Really, he should be getting compensated for the work he’s doing to draw people in. Danny’s not the only one who can do it.
Bruce keeps offering him money, so he doesn’t need to get paid, but maybe he can convince the other employees to talk Danny into accepting one of his pick up lines so they can go on a date one of these days.
It’s become a bit of a joke, but the first time Duke used a cheesy pick up line on Danny, he was being absolutely serious about it. He definitely shouldn’t have used a pick up line he found from a website centered on relationship advice, but he panicked and needed some extra help.
Instead of smoothly asking Danny out on a date, Duke froze up, blurted out the pick up line, then had to laugh it off with Danny and pretend it was a joke.
He still wishes he was able to ask Danny out properly before, but he’s also glad that they got to spend more time as friends, getting to know each other. It’s easier to be with him now, no longer so tongue tied and flustered.
Duke gets to fluster Danny now, which is much better.
And maybe one day his pick up lines will work! Sooner or later Danny’s going to question why he keeps doing this, and then he’ll connect the dots and understand what Duke feels for him.
As it is, he has yet to connect shit.
“My eyes are definitely blue,” Danny says as he walks out of the cafe, messenger bag slung over his shoulder. “I checked while I was putting my apron away.”
“You’re still on that?”
“They’re blue.”
Duke gestures for Danny to come closer. He complies and leans down, letting Duke cup his face in his hands. He checks, considers, then checks again, and says, “They are indeed blue.”
“Told you they weren’t green,” Danny says smugly, pulling back.
“And I said they were green sometimes. Now clearly isn’t one of those times, but they do turn green!”
“I don’t think you should be allowed to say any eye-related pick up lines until you admit that you were wrong and didn’t know my eye color.”
Shaking his head, Duke stands up and pushes in his chair. “Just wait, I’ll catch it sometime and prove it to you.”
“Sure, whatever. Don’t you have library books to get?”
“Yeah, you coming with?”
“Obviously. Why else would I leave my wonderful job where I am left alone to make drinks in peace?” Danny knocks his shoulder against Duke playfully, then reaches over and steals his drink right out of his hand. He takes a sip, makes a pleased hum, and drains half of what was left in the cup.
“Hey!” Duke moves to take it back, which is naturally the exact moment Danny takes off running, effortlessly dodging everyone else on the sidewalk. He takes off after Danny, using his powers to make sure he can move out of the way of anything or anyone who gets in his path.
They’re past the block when Danny starts to slow down, taking another sip of Duke’s latte.
He puts on a final burst of speed and all but tackles Danny into the mouth of an alley, reaching for his cup. “Gotcha!”
“No!” Danny wails dramatically. He takes a step back and Duke watches as his power kicks up again, showing him a vision of Danny stepping on an empty can and falling back. Except he doesn’t really fall back? His foot rolls back on the can for a second, then goes through the can and settles back onto the ground where he catches his balance. Through the entire three second fall, Danny’s eyes are a bright green, brighter than Duke’s ever seen them.
His vision fades away and he moves to catch Danny, taking the chance to watch carefully as Danny’s foot does indeed go through the can. He quickly brings his gaze up to Danny’s eyes, which are green, but not inhumanly bright like they were in his vision.
Is the green not perceptible to normal humans?
He can probably only see it due to his powers. Which means he somewhat inadvertently outed himself as a meta.
Whoops!
Might as well just bite the bullet.
“Hey, do you have powers?”
Danny chokes, shoving Duke away as he coughs and tries to clear his throat. He looks panicked, wild-eyed, searching for an escape route. “What? No. Why would I have powers? Maybe you have powers, have you ever considered that?”
“I mean. I do have powers. That’s why I’m asking.”
“Hold up. Stop talking. You have powers?”
“And your eyes are green sometimes.”
“That’s. No, they’re not,” Danny lies. It’s a very bad lie, seeing how on edge he is, and as much as Duke hates making Danny feel like that, he did get some bad habits while training with Bruce and this is one of them: the need to keep pushing, chasing after clear answers regardless of what the cost is.
Duke shrugs, taking a sip of his latte, down to its last few mouthfuls, acting casual. “If you say so. But my powers don’t lie, man. As much as I wish they would, sometimes.”
“...Can we not do this out here?” The defeated tone Danny speaks with makes Duke hate himself. But he needs answers now. He needs to know if Danny is like him, if he’s safe, if he needs help. He needs it more than he needs Danny to like him at all.
“Sure. I know a few quiet places we can talk.”
“I can’t believe this is happening,” Danny mutters. “Did my eyes really give it away?”
“Yeah. I mean, to be fair, I also didn’t realize until literally right now, so I don’t think anyone else will figure it out just from staring into your eyes.”
“See, this is what happens when you keep flirting when you don’t mean it. Secrets get pulled out into the open and it’s bad for everyone!”
Duke lightly punches Danny’s arm, trying to lift the mood. “Hey, who said I didn’t mean it?”
“What?”
“Who said I didn’t mean it when I flirt with you?”
Danny blinks at him, confused, then says, “I mean, no one I guess. But it’s pretty obvious?”
“I only flirt with you, you know.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah,” Duke says, trying to ignore how his voice shakes slightly. “There’s another one of my secrets. Can we call it even now?”
“Oh!” The shock of the revelation distracts Danny from his earlier nerves. Which is great, because now Duke is the one who’s nervous. It’s worth it, though, seeing the pretty blush come to bloom on Danny’s cheeks. “So all those pick up lines—”
“Yeah.”
“And the pick up line made you realize my powers!”
“These pick up lines are doing the most,” Duke agrees. And then he realizes, “Hey, you what this means? I was right! Your eyes are windows to your soul!”
“I’m going to hit you,” Danny says, already winding back for a solid punch. He lets Danny hit him since it’s only fair for the stress he caused; as a meta, Duke knows how important secrecy is, how the difference between life and death can be just how well his powers are hidden.
“Are we even now?”
Danny considers him for a moment, then sighs. “Yeah, I guess. Let’s be done with this for now, okay? Let’s go to the library.”
He refuses to entertain any conversation about powers or Duke’s feelings for him. It’s nice to spend time with Danny, but by the end, Duke is sure he can feel his heart start to crack in half. A sleepless night awaits him when he gets home, moving past his cousin’s attempts to talk to him in favor of flopping face down onto his bed.
But the next day, Danny grins at him when he walks into the cafe. He doesn’t have a new pick up line, choosing instead to act as calm and casual as possible to give Danny some space.
Also breaking routine, Danny insists on personally making Duke’s drink, writing something onto the cup before he fills it up with a floral tea.
You’re so fine, you made me forget my pick up line, is scrawled on the side of his cup when he gets it.
“Enjoy your drink, Cutiepie the Third,” Danny says with a shy smile.
“The Third?” Duke repeats, relief making him feel lighter than air, “Who are the first two?”
“Don’t worry about it, cutie. Get to class!”
Duke lets Danny chase him out, and holds in his laugh when he hears Danny’s coworker screech, “What was that?!”
Yeah, they’ll be fine. In the meantime, Duke needs to see if apology pick up lines are thing. Danny definitely deserves one.
#ghostlights#dc x dp#dp x dc#dcxdp#dpxdc#prompt fill#my writing#duke went from flirting to accidentally outing both himself AND danny as people w powers. and then lowkey confessing. disaster <3#meanwhile danny has been slowly falling for duke bc of his cute and cheesy pick up lines that he always turned into a joke bc he didnt#believe that it was real. and also his coworkers would embarrass him if he got too flustered#they all ship him and duke btw. so do some of the regulars#coffe with a two minute show lol#thank you for the prompt!!

Down Bad | Hughie Campbell
Summary: Your first date with Hughie goes way better than expected.
Content warnings: SMUT (MDNI), unprotected p in v, fake marriage, fluff
Lyric: "I might just not get up, I might stay down bad."
Buy me a coffee
There was something so endearing about Hughie Campbell. The two of you had met at a coffee shop. You were running late for work and had to use the bathroom, and the coffee shop was the nearest option. The issue was that you had to buy something in order to get the key to the bathroom, and the line was almost out of the door. You weren’t going to be able to wait that long, and Hughie could see from where he was that you were stressed out. He pretended that he was your husband meeting you there and ordered you a latte before handing you the bathroom key.
“Ugh, thank you so much. You’re a lifesaver,” you said as the two of you walked out of the small building.
“Any time. I’m Hughie, by the way.”
Both of you talked and introduced yourselves on your walk to work, and you almost didn’t want to end the conversation when you got outside of the doors of the building. Hughie could tell, so he asked you for your number and texted you his name. It was like you were consumed simply by the idea of him, as your coworkers started to tease you at lunch about how often you were checking your phone.
You both hated Vought, something that was hard to find in common with anyone in the city these days. He didn’t exactly tell you why he hated Vought, but he mentioned something about a Supe killing someone that he loved. You just hated Vought because you could see right through most of The Seven, but you were too scared to expose anyone because you didn’t want to lose your job or get killed.
By the end of you workday, you had exchanged countless texts with Hughie and the two of you had planned to see a movie together. There was a new horror movie that both of you were interested in, so he bought the tickets and sent you information about the theater. You changed out of your business casual work clothes into something more laid back and got to the movie theater about fifteen minutes before the movie was scheduled to start. Hughie met you by the ticket booth and gave you your ticket.
“I figured you wouldn’t want to be sitting next to the weirdos in our row, so I got you the aisle seat.”
“Thank you, that was very thoughtful,” you said. It kind of surprised you that Hughie was willing to pay for everything, even the draft beer that you had ordered, but you weren’t going to complain.
You both enjoyed the movie, and you were laughing and chatting about it on the way out of the theater. As you walked back to your car, you could tell that Hughie was nervous about something.
“Hey, do you feel okay to drive? You had a few beers and I don’t want you to get hurt,” he said. You smiled and unlocked your car.
“Yeah, I feel fine. Do you want to meet me at my place?”
“Um, sure, yeah. Send me the address.”
That was the first thing that you did when you started the car. He wasn’t too far behind you, as you were sitting in the driveway on your phone when he tapped on your window. You let out a laugh and got out of the car, leading Hughie to the front door.
“Wow, your place is beautiful. It’s like a witchy cabin in the woods. I love it,” he said as he looked at the woodsy decor and photos of Stevie Nicks on the wall.
“Thanks, it took a while to get it to this point. I bought almost everything secondhand, except for the couch and chairs.”
You showed him around the house and walked him in to your home office. It was slightly amusing when he ran straight for the vinyl records that you had, but you had quite the collection, and your friends always looked at them when they were over.
“I have some Billy Joel records, by the way. They’re sorted by artist, so you can take your pick. The speakers play it all through the house.”
“Oh, hell yeah.”
You were surprised that he picked one of your Fleetwood Mac vinyls, even though he had the option to play Billy Joel. The surprise quickly wore off as he walked over to you and cupped your cheek with one hand and moved closer to you to kiss you. Things really picked up after that, and you were sitting on your desk with your hand in his pants before you knew it.
“Let’s take this to the bedroom, yeah?” You asked, breathless from the way that Hughie was kissing you. He nodded and closely followed you to your bedroom before closing the door behind him and taking his shirt and shoes off. You were close behind, and it wasn’t long before he was on top of you, grinding his length against your core.
“Can I take these off?” Hughie asked, gesturing to your jeans.
“Yeah. Actually, let me. They’re skinny jeans, so I don’t know how far you’ll be able to get taking them off by yourself.”
He chuckled and you stood up to take off your jeans and underwear, and he did the same. He was bigger than you thought as you straddled him and started to rub his cock between your wet folds. You leaned forward to kiss him and he pumped his cock before easing it in. Moaning from the pleasure, you said that it slid right in.
“I know. Fuck it feels so good. Can I-?” He grabbed your hips and started to take control, and all you did was moan about how good everything felt.
“I’m so close, Hughie! Fuck, I’m gonna cum. Oh, I want you to cum inside of me so bad. Oh my God, it feels so good.”
“Yeah? You want me to cum inside of you?’
You moaned out a “yes” and he asked for you to roll over so that he could be on top. You came at the same time, and he rolled over and grabbed a nearby box of tissues to clean both of you up.
“God, that felt good,” he said after catching his breath.
“I know. Honestly, it’s probably the best sex I’ve had in a while.”
“Honestly, me too,” he said. You chuckled and stretched before cuddling with him for a few minutes. Neither of you had realized how late it was until you reached over and glanced at your phone. With the clock nearing midnight, you decided to let Hughie stay the night. Tomorrow was one of your work from home days, so you didn’t have to kick him out. In fact, you made breakfast together and he stayed until a few minutes before you had to log in for work.
“I had a really good time, and I’d do this again,” he said as you walked him to his car.
“Good. How does Friday night sound?”

𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 & 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭
𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: lip gallagher x fem!reader
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: if there is one notable trait of lip gallagher other than his over-the-top cockiness and brains, it’s his disdain for all things lovey-dovey. but what happens when someone comes around who turns his world upside down?
𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1964
𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: i quickly finished this wip so i could meet my goal of posting at least one fic per month. next month will definitely have more writing but i hope you all enjoy this very late valentine’s day fic
check out my other lip fic, distractions here and my writing here! preview to my new lip fic, stress relief || fic here!
buy me a coffee!
— • —
Lip has never been one for theatrics or romance or anything of the like, and he prides himself on that. He thinks of himself as a simple guy who doesn’t need much charm to get laid.
So why is he standing in line on a cold, bitter morning to buy flowers?
When he met you, Lip had sworn off getting attached or dealing with girls who would be attached. He had dealt with so much drama and crazy exes over the years, and honestly, he was over it.
But, somehow, you had wormed your way into his life, or rather, him into yours. Something about the chase - you not wanting him and him wanting you - made the idea of being with you even more intriguing. Now, he knew no meant no, but after a month or two or three of him pursuing you, you finally obliged.
Unbeknownst to the brunet, your want for him didn’t suddenly start after he chased you. From the beginning, you’d found an interest in him, but unlike the previous girls he’d dabbled with, you weren’t looking for a wham-bam-thank you ma’am situation.
You weren’t a sap. You loved your rom-coms, but you weren’t looking for Prince Charming to swoop down and rescue you. You certainly could save yourself. So, what were you looking for? You wanted someone who didn’t care about holding your hand but wanted to. You were looking for someone who wanted you for you and not what was in your pants. And that’s why Lip was not the person you had in sight.
You had too many people in your life who wanted you for the wrong things, and though you were strong enough to kick them to the curb, it hurt a little. You watched rom-coms, so of course, you’re a bit sensitive. And you’d be lying if you said those movies didn’t affect what you wanted in a partner.
So when Lip came around, all smirks and cockiness exuded, the only thought that crossed your mind was: “Hot.” Lip might have been hot, but he wasn’t so hot that he clouded your judgment. You’d quickly deduced that your interests were not aligned and didn’t even spare him a second glance.
Okay, that’s a lie. You thought the guy was hot, so saying you only looked once is incorrect. But there’s a difference between looking and fucking, and you certainly were not fucking him.
But sure enough, after getting to know him, you felt your walls crumbling down. Gone were the days when you would ask your coworkers to inform you if he came into the shop so you wouldn’t be unprepared. You liked the unannounced visits.
You took the whole self-love thing pretty seriously, so before you let someone into your life, who could easily hurt you without hesitation, you wanted them to deserve you. Seeing his dedication made your heart skip a beat faster than you would like. And every time he showed up, you found a smile creeping on your face.
At one point, your manager even asked if you two were dating with how often Lip came around. He was a regular at your job and a constant in your mind.
He always came down to the little shop you worked at, chatting you up until the customers came in. Even then, he’d be staring at you, pulling faces and winking until you would roll your eyes and turn your head to hide your grin.
But despite the numerous butterflies he unleashed upon you, you were still hesitant, and rightfully so. Though Lip had proved himself to be caring, both of you knew that this whole dating and being romantic thing wasn’t him.
So, that’s why, when Ian was thinking about what he should get Mickey for Valentine’s Day, Lip knew what he needed to do.
The idea was so foreign to him that he felt like a dumbass, but with the number of rom-coms you forced him to watch and how you fawned over the courtship, Lip pushed the discomfort away. After all, you were the only “normal” girl he’d ever been interested in that was interested in him too.
With how fast the news spread in his family, it didn’t take long before everyone asked about you - where you were from, what you were like, why you wanted to be with him, of all people. The last one had lowkey offended him, but he couldn’t disagree.
You were special. You were the kind of person someone like him rarely came across, and he wasn’t letting you go that easily. Not if he could help, so brave the cold he did.
Lip was blowing hot air on his hands to warm them from the crisp winter air. He debated walking away and picking you some dry flowers from the ground but decided against it when he reminded himself that you deserved better than that.
Just when he thought his joints would lock in place, the line dissipated, the last person escaping the cold with their flowers in hand. Finally, it was his turn, but as he approached the stand, he was immediately overwhelmed by all the different shapes and colors.
His eyes scanned over the entire display as he fidgeted. Lip thought it would be easy to find you a bouquet of flowers, but it was proving to be more difficult than he thought. He racked his brain for any memory of you mentioning flowers you liked, but he came up empty.
“Can’t decide?” The seller asked, a hint of a smile on their face.
Lip laughed shortly, “Yeah, something like that. There are so many fucking flowers.”
“I like to have a variety. You’d be surprised how many people ask for the oddest flowers.” The seller watched Lip’s eyes flit from section to section before offering a reprieve. “What do you have in mind?”
Lip shoved his hands in his pockets, brows pinching together. “Uh, shit, I don’t know. Something purple, maybe?”
“Purple?” They clarified, nodding. “I can work with purple.”
As they readied their supplies, they nodded over to Lip. “Is this your first time? Buying things like this?”
The brunet suddenly felt exposed. “That obvious, huh?” He asked though he was sure his constant shuffling and wide-eyed expression answered his question.
“I’ve been doing this for a while, picked up some people-reading skills. For one, you look like you might throw up.” The scents were making his nose twitch. “And two, you’re nervous as hell. That usually means one of two things: you’re just awkward, which I totally get, or you don’t want to fuck up. I’m going to take a guess and say it’s the latter, right?”
Lip smirked, “Yeah, you got me. I don’t do this whole,” he removed his hands from his pockets to gesture to the wide display of flowers “romantic thing if you couldn’t tell.”
The seller smiled as they delicately placed the flowers together. “Oh, no, I definitely couldn’t tell. So I'll take it that this person is pretty special, huh?”
The brunet nodded, his smirk morphing into a genuine smile, “Yeah. Pretty special, yeah.”
“What’s so special about them?”
He had no idea where to start. There was so much Lip loved about you. “So, this girl, right? She’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, and honestly, I don’t know what she sees in me because I can be a piece of shit sometimes. I’ve never really felt obligated to do this for all the other girls I've been with before, but the thing is, with her, I don’t even feel obligated. Like, she’s not forcing me or some shit. I just want to, you know. She knows I’m not into all this sappy bullshit, and I doubt this is the last place she’d expect me to be, but I don’t know, it just feels right.”
Lip had been rambling about you for so long that he hadn’t even noticed that the seller had finished the bouquet and was listening to his words with a smile. “Ah, love is a beautiful thing.”
His eyes widened more than they had when he approached the stand, and the look of shock on the brunet’s face sent the seller into boisterous laughter. Lip’s words came out frantic. “I mean- love is a strong word- I don’t know. Maybe?”
“Hey, don’t sweat it, kid.” The seller handed over the bouquet. “But you talk about someone like that, don’t let them go, ‘kay?”
-
All the way to your apartment, Lip thought over the seller’s words. He didn’t love you. Really, really like you? Sure. Love? No. Absolutely not. He just enjoyed your company, and you made him smile even on his bad days, and you didn’t give him shit whenever something came up with his family and-
Shit. He might actually love you.
He didn’t have long to ponder when the door to your apartment opened. Your roommate was on her way out when she bumped into Lip.
“Oh, hey,” she said. Lip nodded in acknowledgment, adjusting the gift in his hand, which caught her attention. “You got her something for Valentine’s Day?”
Lip looked down at the bouquet, “Uh, yeah. Is she here?”
“Yeah, you know her, never leaves the apartment. But it's sweet of you. She’s a major sap, so she'll love it.” Lip was glad to know your best friend approved. He never sought other people’s opinions, but he knew you valued hers.
“I’ve got a date to get to, but I swear to whatever you believe in that if you hurt her, I’ll hurt you.”
Now, Lip wasn’t easily deterred, but the smile on your roommate’s face as she threatened him had him slightly concerned. You saved him when you emerged from behind the door with a knowing smile. “Leave him alone. You’re going to be late.”
Your roommate checked her phone. “Okay, okay. I’m going.” She innocuously smiled at you before giving a silent warning sign to Lip, and it was then that he knew he needed to walk around eggshells when it came to her.
As soon as she was out of earshot, Lip produced the flowers with a smirk to hide his nervousness. Though he had been hesitant about getting you the flowers, watching your face light up made waiting in the cold and getting threatened by your roommate so worth it.
You gushed appreciation, the smile on your face growing wide as you placed your flowers in a vase after inviting him inside. Lip watched you with a smile of his own as you added water and set it on the window sill.
You approached him with a simpering grin. “You must really like me, huh?”
He thought back on what both the seller and your roommate said. He wouldn’t just do this for anyone. But for you, he’d stand out in the rain if he had to.
He squinted his eyes, bringing you closer to him. “Hmm, I don’t know. Maybe I need a little convincing.”
You hummed, leaning forward to press your lips against his. You pulled away, leaving him chasing after you. “Only a little, right?”
“Maybe a little more.”
You kissed him again, this time more heated than the last. His hands circled your waist as he deepened the kiss. Your fingers found purchase in his hair, weaving through the messy tufts.
You were about to show him how convincing you could be when your phone chimed loudly, disrupting the moment. Much to his reluctance, and yours, you separated from him to check the message.
“use protection, kids,” was the text from your roommate. You showed it to Lip, who only donned a smirk as he reached for you again.
“Looks like we should take her advice, dontcha think, babe?”

masterlist
Jake has always smelled sweet, like vanilla and cinnamon. like a hug from comfort person. but ever since he started working at his uncle’s cafe it intensified. now it was more like cake frosting but with a hint of roasted coffee beans. you wondered if you smelled the same after working there with him for over two months. little cafe became your safe space quickly. escape from stressful uni life. Jake and the rest of the cafe workers were always kind and gentle to you. even during the rush hours it felt like time slowed down here. but the thing you loved the most was hours after closing when you cleaned up and tried new recipes with Jake. you were not much of a baker but you always were good with art so your job was taking care of the visual presentation of Jake’s new creations.
however today both of you were too exhausted to stay up. you cleaned up in a hurry and closed up. you were both heading to the nearest bus station as cafe was quite far from your apartments.
“i’m sad that summer is ending. evenings are already so chilly. aren’t you cold y/n?” Jake looked at your sundress concerned.
“a little bit” you admitted. “i didn’t expect for the temperature to drop so much.”
“let’s walk a little bit faster then” he said wrapping his arm around you. “is this okay?”
you nodded and snuggled into him. he emanated pleasant warmth and that sweet scent you loved so much.
“how’s uni?” you asked.
“it’s already starting to be busy. so many assignments, i will probably have to take less shifts at the cafe.” Jake was majoring in
“yeah same for me. i’m so jealous that this is your last year.” you still had two years left.
Jake laughed and his voice sounded so melodic, every time you heard it your mood elevated instantly.
“it will pass fast, you’ll see. look your bus will be here in 1 minute, lucky you” he pointed at the live schedule at the bus stop as you approached it.
“thank god, i actually started shivering” you commented.
“i hope you won’t catch a cold. drink some tea with honey when you get home.” Jake insisted. it was sweet how caring he was.
“i will! when is your next shift?” you asked before getting in the bus.
“Monday! see you Y/N!” Jake screamed and waved through the bus window.
you waved backed as the bus started moving and soon Jake smiley face disappeared from your sight.
you met Jake in your home town - Busan when you were both in middle school. your mums started working together in the office and quickly became close friends. when summer came barbecue parties in your garden became a weekly event. Jake wasn’t always coming by with his parents, usually he would visit every two or three weeks. at first it felt a little bit awkward as you were complete strangers without much in common. Busan was a big city and you attended different schools and hang out in different friend groups. Jake was also one year older than you. but despite all of this you quickly started to get along well, exchanging stories and interests. however you never kept in touch between those parties. when warm summer days ended replaced by cold and dark days your parents started meeting less often and usually Jake wouldn’t come, too busy with studying. your bond always strengthened over the summers. when you were in high school you started your tradition of stealing some beers from the fridge and sneaking out to sit on the beach and talk drinking the liquor. you always cherished this moments, knowing they will soon become the past.
after Jake graduated high school he moved out to Seoul and you haven’t seen him for two years. you graduated next summer and also decided to continue your education in the capital city. you moved out with your best friend and started your major in chemistry. during summer after first year of uni you got a text from Jake asking if you would be interested in part time job in his uncle’s cafe as they needed new people immediately. you were actually in the process of looking for a summer job so you gladly accepted the offer without thinking too much about it. soon you fell in love with the little cafe and rebuild your bond with Jake, spending multiple hours working together. now you could say you went back to being friends, even closer than ever.
it was already 10 pm when you arrived at your dorm, you were sharing a room with your best friend Hari. you both got in the same university and moved to Seoul together. you were glad for having her in your life as she was the only person keeping you sane through all the hardships and stresses.
“hi cupcake” he greeted you using the nickname she gave you in primary school connected to your love for sweet things.
“hey there” you said back with a sigh, you were exhausted and although weekend was starting you knew it won’t bring you any rest, only more work.
“you’re early. you and jake didn’t bake today?” she asked stretching out on her bed.
“nope, we were both too tired.”
“oh and i thought that maybe you had some trouble in your paradise” she giggled. Hari was shipping you and Jake ever since you started working together and getting closer again. as she claimed you two were destined to be together.
“please don’t start” you plopped down on your own bed too tired to even change your clothes.
“i’m not starting. but just saying. i’m waiting until one of you finally will realize that you have feelings for each other!”
“but we don’t, so there’s nothing to realize. we’re just friends.” you and Jake had a sort of special bond but it wasn’t anything romantic. sure you noticed how handsome he was, how his blond hair completed his pretty face and how bright his smile was. you also knew he was a great, kind and gentle person. but that was something everyone could see about him. you were only objectively noticing his good qualities.
“yeah yeah just friends my ass. friends don’t look at each other the way you do or have this dreamy eyes when they think about the other person” she wiggled her eyebrows at you.
“i’m just tired, it’s my tired eyes” you defended yourself a little bit annoyed at this point.
Hari could talk all she wanted. you knew there was nothing between you and Jake besides old good friendship. you cut her blabbering by disappearing in the bathroom to take a shower and putting on loud music. you needed some time to yourself to rest and get ready for tomorrow. you had two assignments and tone of studying to do. and if you’ll be lucky maybe you’ll have enough energy to go to one of the weekly frat parties. you were dying to finally let loose and have some fun.
somehow you managed to get on top of your productivity and complete everything from your Saturday’s to do list. moreover you actually had a lot of energy left, only one last thing was left - get wasted - as you scribbled in your journal. Hari couldn’t hide her enthusiasm when you informed her that you’re going out today.
“it’s been so long! finally the best party duo will be back in town!” she put on taylor swift and insisted on doing your make up. “please y/n i have the greatest idea in my mind, it will look beautiful on you i promise.” you could only agree so now you were patiently waiting for her to be done so you can pick your outfit.
“we’ll go to house party at Kappa” Hari informed you. “sunghoon told me he’s going to be there, i hope we’ll get to talk.” she shared, Sunghoon was Hari’s crush since forever but just recently they finally started talking and things were slowly starting to get serious between them.
“girl we need you in that pink dress tonight! he’ll lose his mind when he sees you in it” you suddenly remembered the dress you bought her as a birthday gift. it complimented her figure perfectly and cool shade of pink was bringing up her features.
“yess, it will be perfect!” she clapped excited. “by the way i heard Jake is hanging out with Sunghoon a lot recently. so there’s a chance he might be there too.” she winked and you rolled your eyes. but your stomach twisted at the possibility of spending time with Jake outside of work. despite you two being pretty close now you rarely texted or talked besides the cafe. you didn’t even follow him on any social media, only have his number saved up.
“it will be nice to see him outside of work.” you commented keeping your face straight.
“sooo what are you going to wear now that i gave you this precious piece of information?” Hari asked.
the final choice was made after the long debate that was also be the reason of your late arrival to the party. but the way white lacy corset and denim skirt you wore was totally worth it.
“girl you’re going to have all the guys falling to your feet” Hari giggled as you entered the frat house. the place was loud and crowded but nothing over the top. you found your usual squad consisting of an odd mix of art and chemistry students occupying one of the large coaches.
“ahh finally you made it!” Jungwon greeted you with a broad smile.
“the queen is never late, everybody else is early” Hari announced loudly.
“she’s not even drunk yet” Ryujin laughed and went for a tight hug with both of you.
“it’s good to see you, i was worried that you’re overworking yourself y/n but here you are looking hotter than hell!” Ryujin definitely had few drinks already. you giggled at her compliments.
“i’m going to check out the kitchen.” you informed them leaving Hari space to say hello to Sunghoon.
you wondered into the large kitchen, where all the counters were cluttered with liquor and snacks. you checked out your option and went for good old ponch. you wondered if Jake is going to show up as it was already pretty late and he was nowhere to be seen. you didn’t know why you even wanted to see him today but you felt bitter taste of disappointment. but you didn’t let yourself grieve too much. you came back to your friends with two drinks, one for you and one for Hari. she was already gossiping with Sunghoon so you just handed her the drink and plopped down between Jay and Yeji. soon alcohol started buzzing in your veins and you got invested with loud conversations with your friends. it was nice to catch up after a long time and hear what’s up in other people’s lifes. however after some time pleasant buzzing in your head turned into a slight headache, the effects of insomnia and being overworked. you excused yourself to the kitchen, but this time only purred yourself a glass of water. you took a sip and felt better immediately. you leaned against the counter with sigh.
“are you alright?” voice startled you. the voice you knew all too well.
“jake? hii” you light up. “yeah i’m alright, just a bit tired after the week, you know how it is” you muttered to stunned by him.
he was wearing simple white shirt but left few upper buttons undone and his firm chest was exposed for your eyes. he fixed his messy hair and looked at you with pink cheeks. he must’ve been pretty drunk you thought.
“you look gorgeous” he whispered and looked down immediately, if you didn’t know him you would think he’s frustrated. but this wasn’t really in Jake’s character.
“thank you” you blushed, deeply happy that he liked your outfit. all that efforts did not go to waste.
“do you want to get some fresh air?” he asked suddenly and you sent him a confused look.
“i don’t mean smoke, just walk around? i’m a bit overwhelmed here” he explained.
“sure let’s go. i’ll join you at the door in a minute” you agreed without hesitation.
you stopped by Hari to whisper to her that you’re leaving with Jake only for her to wiggle her eyebrows furiously at you. “have fun” she screamed at you when you were leaving and you poked your tongue at her.
Jake was waiting for you with his denim jacket in hand.
“wear it, i don’t want you to get a cold” he said while putting it on you.
“but aren’t you going to be cold?” you asked concerned.
“don’t worry, this shirt is pretty thick.” he dismissed you but you weren’t going to give up so easily.
“at least button it up a bit” you scoffed and reach out to help him. you realized what you’re doing when your fingers made contact with hot skin of his chest. it was probably alcohol making you bold as you usually weren’t the type to be touchy with your friends. you buttoned two buttons of his shirt and looked up. Jake was averting his gaze and you could swear his cheeks were more pink than before.
“all done. we can go.” you said and opened the door.
for first couple of minutes you walked around in silence, emptiness and quietness of the streets being the nice contrast to the loud party. sky was clear tonight leaving a perfect view of constellations. here in seoul they weren’t visible as good as in busan but still astonished you with their beauty.
“what are you thinking about?” jake broke the silence first.
“i’m thinking about the stars. do you remember when we used to watch them during summer nights sitting on Songdo beach?” you asked looking up.
“life was easier back then, i felt in peace during those nights. i miss the beach. i like seoul but busan will always be in my heart.” he responded.
“did you ever think about coming back after graduating?” you turned your gaze towards him.
“yeah it crossed my mind, but i don’t think so. at least not just after graduating. maybe in the future.” he kept eye contact with you.
“same for me. i won’t have same opportunities there.” you agreed.
“these are some serious topics for a party night” he laughed out of the sudden and it reminded you that he was way drunker than you.
“sorry, didn’t want to ruin the mood” you reflected yourself.
“no, i didn’t mean it like that” he quickly protested grabbing your arm. “you didn’t ruin anything. i just would rather escape this topics today.” his touch burned you.
“sure, i understand.” you smiled gently at his worried face. “let’s get back to the party.” you proposed.
“i think i’m gonna head home already. it’s late and i need to rest a bit” Jake yawned and stretched out.
“sure, i think i’m gonna get going too, Hari has company and i could use some sleep too.” you decided.
“i’ll walk you home. it’s dangerous to walk alone at night.” Jake said. your dorm was about ten minutes away and you were sure you’re going to be fine but didn’t decline the offer. you liked Jake’s presence more than you wanted to admit. “by the way what’s up with Sunghoon and Hari? are they a thing now?” he asked as you were walking towards your dorm.
“ohhh so Sunghoon didn’t share any details?” you asked surprised. you thought they were close when Hari told you they hang out a lot.
“nah he’s pretty reserved and i didn’t want to push him. but i definitely noticed something is going on.”
“well Hari on the other hand is not secretive at all.” you laughed. “i think they’ll start dating officially soon. Hari liked Sunghoon since forever and well she can be very persistent. i guess her efforts paid off.” you explained.
“oh but Sunghoon definitely had an eye on her too. but good for her that she did not give up.” he commented as you crossed the street getting close to your building.
“oh she never gives up. can you believe she still didn’t stop shipping us?” you blurted out and immediately regretted it. you were grateful that it was night time because your face turned red instantly. you always said too much after drinking. Jake turned towards you surprise evident in his wide eyes.
“she is shipping … us?” the way his eyes switched between you two made you even more embarrassed.
“yeah, no matter how many times i tell her that we’re friends she keeps insisting” you brushed your hand through your hair nervously.
Jake’s expression was unreadable, but you saw him watch you intently.
“sorry don’t know why i brought it up, she’s being annoying with it.” you started talking to deal with awkward silence between you.
“it’s fine. i was just surprised. i didn’t know that.” Jake reassured you but you could tell by his eyes that he was confused.
“let’s forget about it. we’re here, i’m going to get going. don’t want to stop you anymore.” you quickly blurted out, in a rush to get away from Jake and die out of embarrassment in the comfort of your apartment.
“have a good night y/n and see you on monday” Jake smiled.
“wait your jacket!” you remembered and started to take it off.
“you can keep it, i’m fine. you’re the one who’s always cold.” he said and proceeded to walk away.
“good night!” you shouted back at him after a few seconds of shock.
after he turned around the corner and disappeared from you sight you hidden your face in your hands. you cringed at the whole walk with him, first you started too serious conversations and later you started talking about shipping you together. you seriously needed a ban for alcohol. you hugged his jacket around yourself tighter and his scent hit your nose, the sweet scent you loved so much. you went back home to go to sleep and escape from embarrassment.
you actually managed to get some rest throughout the sunday, you pushed all the thoughts about Jake away and Hari was too busy talking about Sunghoon to keep questioning you. however now as you were on your way to cafe after classes you felt anxiety creep up your spine. you hoped Jake was too drunk to remember and care. at least that was what you wanted to believe in. you opened cafe door with your head high and smile on your lips. „hi!” you greeted Mina, your other coworker, who was just ending her shift.
„hi Y/n! so glad to see you. and you look so pretty today!” she smiled at you from behind the counter.
“thank you” you beamed at compliment. “i’ll go change. is Jake here already?” you asked.
“no, he actually called and said he will be a bit late today. i can stay with you if you want” she proposed but you could tell she was dying to go home.
“no, it’s fine. it’s not busy today” you looked around. not even half of the tables was occupied.
you got ready and started evening shift alone. it felt nice to stop thinking and focus on all the tasks, you didn’t even noticed when an hour passed. you realized when you looked at the clock above the door when Jake run inside with messy hair and pink cheeks.
“i’m sorry, i had to stay some extra at labs” he started explaining immediately but you stopped him.
“hey, it’s okay. no need to be so dramatic. here have some water” you purred him a glass.
“thank you” he said breathing heavy and taking a sip. his adam apple bobbed and you couldn’t help but find it attractive when he was a flushed and sweaty. “i know you’re fine on your own but i just hate being late, it’s all in the head” his voice broke you out of the haze.
“i know. you don’t have to be so hard on yourself you know” you instinctively reached out to rub his shoulder in comforting manner. you were about to withdraw your hand after you realized but he actually leaned into your touch and put his big hand on yours. your eyes met, softness in his gaze making you smile.
“thank you. i’ll go change now.” he said finally.
“how was your sunday? did you get some rest?” he asked later on when you were sorting the cups in dishwasher.
“yes i finally did, felt so good. i can tell i started the week with good energy” you responded. “and you?”
“yeah i got some rest in the morning but then i was out again.” he chuckled.
“ohh our social butterfly” you joked.
“yeah, i had a date” he suddenly admitted.
“oh” you could stop the sound from escaping your lips. “how was it?” you corrected yourself quickly. you were surprised. Jake never mentioned his love life to you before and he didn’t seem like the person who was looking for relationship now.
“it was nice, i had a good time” he said.
“that’s great! so happy for you” you tried to make your enthusiasm sound honest, but your insides twisted a bit.
“well actually i was already on few dates with her” he scratched his head while looking down. you steadied yourself against the counter. “at first i had hope for something but the more we met the more it became obvious that it’s not working out. i couldn’t really feel anything towards her. i think something was stopping me. like i kept thinking that’s not it..”
“excuse me can we get another cinnamon roll?” women’s voice interrupted your conversation.
“sure, coming” Jake responded and went to grab the cinnamon roll from the counter.
your mind was spiraling from all the information he gave you. you didn’t understand why he suddenly shared so many details with you, but maybe he just needed someone to vent to. you gritted your teeth unconsciously and went back to work. when Jake came back from the table he did not continue the conversation and acted like it didn’t happen so you you did the same.
“can we schedule baking for friday? i’m too exhausted today and i think friday is our next shift together.” he asked towards the end of your shift.
“sure, friday sounds good, we won’t have to hurry” you agreed. you were too drained today too.
“perfect! you can go already, i’ll take care of the closing. we’ll be even for my delay today.” he proposed.
normally you wouldn’t agree and stay with him but today you wanted to escape his presence as fast as possible so you just nodded.
“thanks it would be great.”
you felt relief when you walked out of sweet cafe into the fresh air of the night. coldness of the wind wasn’t bothering you this time but bringing much needed refreshment. you didn’t know why lately all your interactions with Jake were so awkward. you blamed Hari for waking up weird ideas in your head and hoped this odd feeling will disappear till Friday.
Friday came suddenly, this week felt like a breeze and you were full of energy. you were looking forward to baking with Jake. it’s been a long time since you’ve done it and new season was just around the corner so you needed to make some preparations. technically this wasn’t part of your job, but the owner being Jake’s uncle made cafe feel like a family business and you both really wanted to help as much as you could. and combining your talents always brought back the best results.
tonight was super busy in the cafe so you decided to close an hour later than usual and were left with ton of cleaning to do but neither of you wanted to cancel your plans, you worked quickly in silence and managed to finish daily tasks around 11 pm.
“okay let’s get to work now, it’s already so late” Jake scratched his head.
you put on some quiet jazz music in the background and put on the apron.
“so what are you doing tonight chef?” you asked with a broad smile.
“we need something new for fall menu. i was thinking about trying something we’ve never made here before- pumpkin cupcakes with dark chocolate and cinnamon.” he started telling you all about his idea while preparing ingredients.
“i’m already hungry at the thought of it.” you licked your lips and you noticed Jake smiled at you. “so what size are they going to be? do you want the decorations to be in fall vibe as well?” you asked him for more details.
“here are the forms” he showed you medium sized forms, cupcakes would be about a size of his fist you thought. “i was thinking that we may even go more for spooky Halloween decor. what do you suggest?” he asked.
“sounds like a plan. let me think for a while” you said already picturing all the possible options. you picked out your journal from black bag and sat down ready to draw. while Jake started working on pumpkin dough you scribbled few ideas down. after giving it a thought you crossed out the ones you didn’t like and went to show Jake some options.
“i did few spooky ones and one with fall vibes.” you explained showing him your doodles. “for spooky ones spiders web is a must, here look at that design, it will look like it’s melting down the cupcake. second one i have are this little ghosts, they are spooky and cute at the same time, i got inspiration from the little ghosts from ghibli movies. and for fall ones i was thinking about white cream and little pumpkins from frosting. here take a look.” you were focusing on describing the drawings while Jake watched you with silent adoration and admired your talent. you only noticed when you finally stopped talking and your gaze met his eyes.
“i love all of them. but will you be able to make that pumpkins out of the frosting? it seems complicated.” he questioned.
“i’ll try but i’m positive about it” you reassured him, you already had a plan in your mind.
“great, always the best ideas in that pretty head of yours” he ruffled your hair but you were too focused on the fact that he called you pretty to care. it never happened before and you felt yourself blush at the sudden compliment. you looked away.
“let’s get to work then. i’ll prepare the cream and frosting!” you smiled and started your job.
you were silent for the next hour, enjoying your company and focusing on the things you loved, there was some kind of comfort in all of that. dim lighting of the cafe and sweet scent of your baked goods making the night even more atmospheric.
when you finally finished baking and decorating you were dying out of the hunger. you took some pictures to capture your creations and then you let yourself get the taste.
“oh. my. god. Jake. that’s so delicious” you complimented him mouth full of delicious cupcakes. sweet taste of pumpkin was perfect with combination of bitter dark chocolate and cinnamon. “that’s the best shit you ever made.”
“i’m glad you like it” he laughed throwing his head back. “i have to admit i love them too” he said taking another bite. “but the decor is what makes them top tier. you’re really so talented y/n. i’m sure they will sell out so fast.” he continued.
you ate way too many cupcakes than you should and lazily cleaned up the kitchen.
“ah i’m exhausted but at the same time i feel so rested after our baking session” you shared.
“it’s like the comfort thing, just like our evenings on the beach in Busan. we found a worthy substitute here in Seoul.” Jake smile warmly at you.
“you’re right. let’s get going, i think we’re done with everything here. what time is it?” you asked collecting for stuff from around the cafe.
“oh shit” you heard Jake whisper.
“what?” you asked concerned.
“it’s past 1 a.m already. i have no idea how it passed so quickly.” he said frowning at his phone.
“fuck. i don’t think we have any buses left.” you cursed out.
“i’ll check kakao taxi.” Jake said and started scrolling on his phone. “you’ve got to be kidding me!” he exclaimed loudly few seconds later. “i’m not paying fucking 400,000 won to go back home.”
“oh my god” you agreed. you were already on the budget and couldn’t afford any unnecessary spendings.
“i’m sorry y/n i didn’t know it’s so late” Jake started apologizing you, guilt painting his eyes.
“hey we both got lost in time.” you reassured him. “let’s think what are our options.”
“hmm i guess we could stay here until the morning buses. when do they start? i think around 4 am. it’s only 3 hours then” he started thinking out loud pacing around the cafe.
“that’s not a bad idea.” you agreed. “we can just crush here. we have the couch and blankets.”
“okay then.” Jake grabbed some blankets from the storage room. “you can take the coach, i’ll settle down for one of the armchairs.” he said. space of the cafe wasn’t big so there was only one big coach.
“i think we can both fit here if you don’t mind, should be enough space” you examined rearranging the pillows. “you’ll be uncomfortable on the armchair.” you didn’t mind sharing the space with Jake and you felt bad that he’s always sacrificing his comfort for you.
“if you are fine with it then sure. coach is definitely better.” he laughed and plopped down. “i’ll set the alarm for 4 o clock, is that okay?” he asked and you nodded in agreement. he fidgeted a bit on the coach and got comfortable. you lied down next to him and threw a blanket over your bodies, there was enough space for both of you on the coach but your limbs were touching. at first you thought it will be awkward but it actually felt good, warmth of Jake’s body was giving for comfort. you didn’t even know when you drifted away to sleep.
Jake was fucked. you were laying next to him asleep and fidgeting, you must be dreaming about something. he tried to fall asleep but your scent and warmth was distracting to say the least. his body burnt in places where your limbs were touching. he shouldn’t agree to sleep with you on the coach. he knew it wasn’t normal for a friend to feel this way towards you but he was also well aware he crossed that line a while ago. he realized when his heart skipped a beat whenever you would smile at him. he tried to deny it, explain it. he justified the ache in his heart, everybody would feel intimidated in the presence of someone as nice and pretty as you right? but deep down he knew. oh and when he saw you in that dress on the frat party. he needed some fresh air immediately to calm himself down. but then you started talking how Hari is shipping both of you. and you were looking so cute with his jacket on, like you were his. he was so embarrassed but at the same time he wanted to ask you “would it be so weird for us to be together?” but of course he never did. he just laughed like it was the most ridiculous thing ever not his dream. he didn’t know why he mentioned his date to you the next day. it’s not like it meant anything to him, it was a failed attempt to forget about you. he wanted to die when you were looking at him with big confused eyes when he was talking nonsense about it. he knew he couldn’t with for you to feel same way about him. you deserved so much better, someone who was brave enough to confess, someone who would always keep in touch with you, not disappear from your life like he did many times. he was always a coward.
now his heart was pounding as you turned to your side your back making contact with his chest. you sighed in your sleep and went still. maybe it was time to finally start acting on his feelings, being someone who’s sure and confident. in a sudden wave of bravery he put his arm around your waist and pulled you closer burying his face in the crook of your neck. he closed his eyes and tried to steady his breath enough to fall asleep.
sharp sound of the alarm woke you up and your body jolted. however you couldn’t get up as there was a weight holding you down. you blinked your eyes open and noticed Jake’s arm holding your waist and you realized that your bodies are curled up together. you stopped the ringing of alarm and turned around in Jake’s embrace to look at him.
“good morning” he muttered slowly waking up.
“hi, did you sleep well” you swallowed and asked in the whisper highly aware of his proximity. his firm and hot body pressed against yours making you feel dry at your throat. he kept his arm around you, caressing your side.
“yeah, i actually slept amazing. and you?” he asked.
“i did too. definitely better than expected.” you responded.
Jake’s fringe was messed up, loose strands covering his pretty brown eyes, you wanted to look at them without distractions. the urge was so strong that you reached out and fixed his hair gently. however after you didn’t withdraw your hand, just kept it tangled in his golden strands. now you kept eye contact, his pupils were dilated and eyes squinting slightly. you felt his breath fasten and saw his eyes flick down, you also averted your gaze towards his plump pink lips. you didn’t even noticed when you got closer to him and tagged at his hair lightly, it was all your bodies doing. now you were breathing heavily too, chest rising and falling visibly, cheeks flushed. tension was high between you two and Jake was the the first one to break it.
“can i kiss you?” he basically moaned.
you didn’t respond verbally just smashed your lips against his and finally tasted him. you started the kiss rather gently, carefully discovering the feeling of his lips. Jake returned the kiss immediately and you felt arousal in your stomach at the simple movement of his lips. they were perfect and the kiss quickly became less shy. Jake licked your lower lip asking for permission and you granted it immediately, your tongues curiously meeting. you felt him groan in your mouth and pull your body closer. you moaned at the sensation, your boobs meeting his hard chest and feeling of his boner pressing against your abdomen. you tagged at his perfect hair and grinded against him, throwing your leg over his hip to gain better access. Jake’s hand travelled to your ass, squeezing the soft flesh and pushing you against his hard on. you moaned and your lips disconnected for the first time, a string of saliva between them.
“what are we doing?” you asked breathless, Jake looked stunning like that, with lips swollen from your kisses and dark eyes filled with lust.
“something i’ve been wanting to do for way too long.” he said, his voice raspy. his words send another wave of arousal straight to your core. you thighs clenched uncontrollably and he definitely noticed, you saw him gulp.
“do you want to keep going baby?” he asked and you melted hearing the nickname. you didn’t know how much you were craving him, both physically and emotionally but now you have realized it, you were in love with Jake. “babe, can you give me an answer?” he asked you for the second time gently caressing your face. you leaned in his touch.
“yes Jakie, i want all of you.” you said and added “please” just to see him fold.
“fuck, you’ll be the death of me” he hissed and kissed you again. this time it was much rougher and full of urgency, you sucked on his tongue and he bit your lip all while trying to get you out of your clothes. when your shirt and bra were gone he moved down and captured your hardened nipple with his mouth, flicking his tongue around it and pinching the other one with his hands. the sensation was making your head spin. you needed him bad. when he moved up to suck on your neck your hand found his belt and unbuckled it to slip underneath his pants and palm him. his length felt thick and hard beneath your fingers. Jake bucked his hips in your hand.
“needy are you?” you giggled.
“you don’t even know.” he whispered. “but you’re no better i’m afraid” he teased slipping his palm into your panties, wetness immediately meeting his fingers. “fuck you’re so wet.”
you moaned when he found your clit and started rubbing circles around it. “Jake i need you” you pleaded too impatient to cherish the moment, you needed him inside now.
“i know baby, i know. i’ll just warm you up a bit okay?” he asked inserting one finger inside your warm pussy. you were starving for anything but finger did not feel enough.
“need more” you urged him.
“be a good girl” he scolded you.
“please” you moaned when he added second finger and fastened his moves. “i’m ready.”
Jake couldn’t resist you anymore, not when you pleaded like that. he was hot and needy for you, his precum leaking in his boxers. you got rid of the rest of your clothes and Jake settled between your legs, his dick so pretty you drooled at the sight, perfect length with red tip and one vein slightly visible. you wanted to taste him, but not now. he started rubbing his leaking tip against your wet core. “are you sure?” he asked one last time and when you nodded he pushed the tip inside. you were so wet it slid right in, you both moaned at the sensation. Jake was so lost in the feeling that he unconsciously started thrusting not giving you anytime to adjust but the slight sting disappeared almost immediately replaced with pleasure. his thrust were fast but not too rough, his tip perfectly abusing your sensitive spot, you knew you’ll cum fast. but it was the same for Jake, seeing your pretty tits moving with every thrust, your lips slightly opened in pleasure and hearing your moans was enough to send him over the edge within minutes. you came in the same time connecting your lips in messy kiss. you clenched around him and your vision darkened, sparks travelling through your body. it was one of the best orgasms of your life. Jake peppered your lips in kissed once you both came down from your highs and caressed your face gently.
“y/n i love you” he whispered eyes wide with adoration. “i’ve loved you since forever.” you melted after hearing his confession.
“i love you too” you responded overwhelmed with the sweet feeling.

Heaven is not fit to house a love (like you and I) | Part 1
Word Count: 5.9k
Genre: smut, angst
Summary: When you first met your boyfriend, it was love at first sight. No, more than that. It was love before you even met. It felt like you had known each other in another life and were meant to find each other again.
But that's not actually true, is it? You and Beomgyu don't actually know each other from another life, and the dreams you've been having aren't memories of your past life either. That's ridiculous.
But then why does Beomgyu get so defensive about them? And why does each dream feel more real than the one before?
A/N: this is the sequel to my series YAMQN but I'm trying to write it in a way that it would be comprehensible to people who have never read YAMQN. The parts in italic are the dreams.
Warnings: fucking on furniture, orgasm control, premature ejaculation, masturbation, PIV sex, toxic relationships.
“Stay home” Beomgyu holds you from behind, kissing your neck
“We can’t. I’ve canceled on them too many times now.” You whine. Beomgyu keeps doing this. Every time you try to hang out with your friends he pouts and whines until you stay home with him. It was cute at first–how he couldn’t get enough of you–but now your friends are actually getting pissed at the both of you.
“But I missed you.” You can feel his pout on your skin as his lips brush over it.
“We hang out every day. We live together!” You protest, but you’re unable to keep the chuckle from your voice.
“I know but that’s not what I mean.” He mumbles cryptically and you turn your head towards him. “Then what do you mean?”
He flushes and buries his face in the crook of your neck so you wouldn’t see him. “Never mind. It’s stupid”
You grab his long hair, gently lifting his head up so you can lock eyes with him. “No, tell me.”
He lets out a shaky sigh. “It’s just… you ever feel like you and someone else are two halves of the same soul and you’ve spent and will spend all your lifetimes trying to reunite with them and when you finally do, you just can’t bear to let go?”
You’re rendered speechless by his impassioned, if self-conscious, speech because it captured exactly what you’ve always felt about him but was too scared to say in case you scare him off.
You met Beomgyu while at work at the coffee shop at the local mall around christmas time last year. You spotted this adorable guy in front of your store dressed in the most ridiculous teddy bear sweater you’ve ever seen, collecting donations to buy toys for the kids at the local shelters. You fell for him at first sight and wherever he’d show up, you’d spend your entire shift stealing glances at him to the point that even your coworkers noticed. You couldn’t get over how sweet what he was doing was and you so badly wanted to go up to him and tell him that but you didn’t want to come across as a weirdo. It was only after your coworkers’ incessant nagging that you finally mustered up the courage to go up to him, hot drink in hand, offering it to him and telling him how much you admired what he was doing and how cute he his sweater was.
The conversation flowed much more easily than you could have ever anticipated–almost like you two were meant to be–and from then on it became your daily routine to bring him a cup of coffee during your break and have a chat with him until you were yelled at by your boss for taking too long.
And when Christmas day was fast approaching and the both of you knew he wouldn’t be there much longer, a snarky comment from your boss finally brought the two of you together and forced you to get over your trepidation.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake. She likes you. He likes you. She finishes her shift at 6. Come pick her up. She likes sunflowers.”
And that is how you and Beomgyu started dating.
“Well now I can't go.” You lament, and he smiles radiantly, victorious.
God your friends are gonna be so mad.
But it’s hard to think about that when his lips are attached to your neck, sucking at your most sensitive spots as he grinds his dick into your ass.
“You look so sexy in that dress.” He murmurs wantonly, groping your tits coarsely over said dress.
“Careful or you’re gonna blow your load on my ass.” You tease, referring to the first time you two got intimate. He was so excited then that he ended up cumming just from a little grinding. He’s lucky he’s so cute and that you found his enthusiasm endearing because if any other guy had cum so prematurely like that, you would’ve probably kicked his ass out the door. But also he ended up eating you out for the rest of the night until your legs turned into jelly to make it up to you, so it wasn’t too bad.
Beomgyu pulls your dress down over your tits so he can play with them directly as he sucks on the skin of your neck, and you can feel your arousal begin to build up between your legs.
"Beomgyu…"
"My sensitive baby." He chuckles, index fingers flicking your nipples. You squeeze your thighs together in need and push your ass back against his cock pointedly. "Fuck me, Beomgyu."
It doesn’t take much prompting to get Beomgyu to give in. He has always been needy for you and today was no different. He pushes you against the table, flipping the skirt of your dress up and pulling your underwear out of the way before he pushes himself inside you, filling you up so perfectly as if he was made for you.
“Oh, Beomgyu…” You gasp, clawing at the wooden surface of the table. This is hardly new to you. Beomgyu has fucked you on every surface of this house, many times. He's insatiable. He just can't get enough of you, and neither you him.
“Baby, I don’t think I will last long.” He grunts into your ear and you chuckle breathlessly. “Of course not. You never could resist my pussy, huh?”
“No.” He shakes his head, driving his cock into you harshly.
“Then cum. Show me how much you need me.”
“Fuck, I do. I do, baby.” He groans, pressing his hips flush against your ass as he empties his seed inside of you.
“Well, that was quick.” You giggle when he catches his breath and he whines, flipping you over on your back and pulling your thighs up against your body. You know what’s coming next. Beomgyu can never leave you unsatisfied and when he finishes too early like this he usually makes it up to you by giving you the best oral of your life.
But when he sees his cum dripping out of your swollen pussy, he stops and stares, almost hypnotized by the sight, and a far away look takes over his face.
"What?" You ask, pulling him out of his thoughts. "Nothing."
“Do you like seeing me dripping with your seed? Are you thinking of knocking me up?” You tease, and his head snaps up to look at you at a neck-breaking speed, a horrified look on his face.
Fuck, did you read the situation wrong? Why did you say that? You don’t know why you said that!
Actually you do. You had another one of your dreams today–the ones where Beomgyu is a prince and you’re a lady at court and you’re in love. Beomgyu doesn’t like hearing about them much. He calls them silly and always brushes them off, not wanting to hear about them. But his lack of enthusiasm doesn’t stop you from having them, and each one feels more real than the other, as if it had actually happened. As if you were recalling memories of a previous life. And the latest dream was no different.
"Our children are not going to want for anything.” Dream Beomgyu says, hand splayed protectively over your tummy.
“What?” Real-life Beomgyu sputters, and you explain yourself shyly, sitting up and covering yourself as you chuckle nervously. “I just… I had a dream that I was pregnant with your baby. You know, when you were a prince…”
But Beomgyu doesn’t share your laughter. His face immediately hardens and his reaction this time surpasses mere distaste and veers into anger.. “I was never a prince. None of your dreams ever happened. They’re just meaningless dreams. Don’t be stupid.”
"Stupid?" You draw back at the sudden outburst.
"Yes. The whole prince thing is stupid. You need to get out of your head and come back to reality. The whimsical, superstitious act is not cute anymore." He snaps, far too much vitriol in his voice for such a silly topic.
"Why are you being such an ass? Would it hurt you to just listen and laugh with me? Or is the idea of us having a baby together so appalling to you?" You don’t know why you’re going so hard to defend your dreams or why he feels the need to tear them down, but you can’t ignore the sudden shift after he heard you mention the possibility of having a child together, and his answering laugh cuts you deep.
"You don't know anything." Beomgyu says, getting cryptic like he always gets whenever you talk about your dreams. Usually you’d let it go, but not this time. Not when he was so disgusted with the idea of having a child with you.
"Don't know what?" You ask, frustrated. “That you find the thought of having a child with me so appalling?”
"I don't want to talk about this right now."
Of course, he never wants to talk about it. He always runs away whenever the topic of discussion gets too serious for his liking. For a guy who is so self-proclaimed obsessed with you, he sure does work hard to avoid these meaningful talks. Well, if he wants to avoid it so bad then you’ll make it easy for him.
"Fine." You hop off the table and go to the bathroom to clean yourself up and change your underwear before going back out, intending to leave the apartment to get some fresh air and most importantly, to get away from Beomgyu.
But Beomgyu has other ideas, following you at every step like a second shadow, and when he sees you going for the door, he steps in between you and it. "Where are you going?"
"Out."
"I'm coming with you." He states decidedly and you can’t keep the snort out of your mouth. He always does this. He always makes decisions for you. Well, not this time. "No. I need space."
But he shakes his head firmly. "You're angry. I don't want to let you go angry."
Beomgyu always hated parting from you on bad terms. He always needed to make sure everything was okay before he let you out of his sight. It was sweet at first. You might’ve even considered it healthy at some point, but right now it’s driving you up the wall. Arguments can't always be resolved on the spot, especially when one party refuses to even talk, and so forcing you to be together just ends up with you lashing out because you can't blow off steam.
But Beomgyu doesn’t care. He just doesn't want you out of his sight.
"Beomgyu, for fuck's sake, get out of my way. I don’t want to be around you right now."
"You know I can't let you go angry." He reiterates as if that is a necessity you had to cave to.
"You're going to have to learn to. If you won’t talk to me then you have to at least give me some space.”
“I can’t.”
“You have to.” You shout, angry and fed up with him. “I don't know what the fuck happened to you in the past to traumatize you like this, because god knows you refuse to tell me, but I can’t coddle you about it anymore. I need to take a breather and I don’t care if you–”
"I lost a baby before." He utters softly but it was deafening to you.
"What?"
“Me and my ex, we had a baby on the way but I lost both of them. That’s why the idea of having a baby freaks me out so much. I can’t handle losing another one. I can’t handle losing you.… it’s just–it’s–” He starts tearing and stuttering his words, looking distraught as he attempts to explain himself to you, and you feel absolutely wretched for doubting him. You’re such a fucking bitch for forcing him to reveal this to you, but you’re also selfishly glad he did. Even this tiny sliver of his past is much needed context to explain the man you love so dearly.
“I—I don’t know what to say.” You pathetically utter after an exorbitant amount of time, never having expected such a revelation. “I’m so fucking sorry.”
You take him into your arms and he sobs against you, holding onto you tightly. "I want to have a child with you. Nothing would make me happier. You have no idea. But I'm just too scared."
“It’s okay, baby. I don’t want to have a child right now. We can talk about it again in the future. We’ll work it out together, okay?” You pull back slightly–not stepping out of his tight embrace, not that he would’ve let you–and take his face into your hands, wiping his tears off.
He nods pitifully. “Okay.”
You should’ve left it at that. He’s in a bad state. You should be comforting him right now, but you’re selfish and this might be the only time he’ll open up to you, and now you have to know.
"Did… did you love her?"
"With all my heart." He doesn’t hesitate in answering and you feel a pang of jealousy towards his deceased lover. How fucked up, is that? "More than me?"
He is quiet for a while and every second that passes in silence tears your heart apart.
"There is no one I love more than you." He finally says and you let out a sigh of relief that was entirely too obvious.
“Oh god, I’m so sorry. I’m being such a bitch. I’m jealous of a dead girl, how crazy is that?” You ramble nervously, but Beomgyu stops you with a kiss.
“That’s okay, baby. I know you don’t mean it like that.” He reassures you and you sigh in relief once more. He never judges you for the messed up thoughts you sometimes get. He always understands and emphasizes and that’s part of the reason why you love him so much.
Still you keep the rest of your questions about her to yourself. It must be a sore subject for him given how he was so protective of it before. The only thing you need to know right now is that you’re the love of his life, not her, not anyone else. You.

“He’s not trying to keep me away from you. He’s just really clingy. No, he’s not manipulating me–” Your heated defense of your boyfriend is cut off when you spot said boyfriend standing in the doorway of the kitchen where you had been taking your friend’s call so he wouldn’t overhear it. Well, so much for that.
“Oh shit, I'll call you back.” You mutter to your friend and end the call, cutting off the protests on the other line.
“Was that Yunjin?” He asks and you nod guiltily. Yunjin doesn’t like Beomgyu. She made that very clear to the point that despite you not telling him, he knows it well.
“She’s just being Yunjin. Don’t mind her.” You try to smooth things over but he shakes his head. “No, it’s my fault. I’m not helping things by keeping you all to myself. It’s just because I love being with you so much, you know that right?”
“I know, baby.” You walk towards him, wrapping your arms around his neck. “I love spending time with you too–hey, here’s an idea. Why don’t you come along? It would be killing two birds with one stone, hanging out with my friends while still being with you. And it’s been so long since they’ve last seen you. I’m sure once they get a look at your cute face, they’d forget all their reservations.”
You laugh, but Beomgyu looks nervous. “I don’t know. They don’t really like me anymore.”
“Because they don’t see much of you and you’re taking over all my attention. If they see more of you, they’d fall in love with you all over again.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m sure. You’re irresistible, puppy.”
_________________________________________
And just like you said, things go well. After your friends get over the initial annoyance that you brought Beomgyu along, they start warming up to him once the conversation starts flowing and Beomgyu’s radiant personality shines through. You’ve even caught Yunjin crack a smile or two at his antics.
But all your high hopes come crashing down when another person joins your party. The stranger’s name is Taehyun, and he’s apparently the new roommate of one of your friends, which is fine enough, he seems like a nice guy and you’ve always welcomed new additions to your group.
Beomgyu on the other hand, must feel differently, because as soon as Taehyun joins you, his whole demeanor shifts and he becomes closed off and snappy, getting mean with his comments that were all seemingly directed at the newcomer. It was starting to ruin the mood, making your friends mad again, and so when he makes yet another snarky remark to something Taehyun innocuously said, you have to pull him aside and ask him what his problem is.
“What the fuck are you doing, Beomgyu? My friends were just starting to warm up to you again. Why are you being such a dick?”
“I want to go home. I don’t feel very good.” He lies, and you know it’s a lie because he doesn’t sell it very well, glaring daggers at the table where your friends are seated.
“Then go home.” You snap, having little remaining patience for his behavior.
He gives you a look of betrayal. “You know I can’t leave without you.”
“You’re going to have to if you can’t act like a fucking adult. The reason I invited you is because I wanted to help smooth things over between you and my friends. I wanted to prove to them that you’re not the manipulative asshole they think you are, but honestly the way you’re acting right now, makes me wonder if maybe they are right and–”
“No they’re not.” He cuts you off, lips tightly pressed together. “Fine, we'll stay.”
“Beomgyu…” You eye him with doubt but he insists. “I’m fine. Let's go.”
He drags you back to the table and you stop your protests so your friends can’t hear it.
Beomgyu is quiet for a while, which doesn’t make for pleasant company, but at least he’s not being an asshole. Well, not for a bit anyway. Because once Taehyun mentions he’s looking for a job and you tell him that your place of work is hiring, Beomgyu starts acting up again.
“I’m sure he doesn’t want to work as a barista, honey.” Beomgyu speaks over you, but Taehyun rebuts him. “I do. The hours sound good for a student like me and the work doesn’t sound too hard. It’s perfect.”
Once again, Beomgyu speaks instead of you. “But you seem like an intelligent guy. Surely serving coffee to other people would be embarrassing for you.”
“What the hell, Beomgyu?” You hiss, mortified at his implication, and in front of all your friends too. Is that what he really thinks? Does he think your job is embarrassing?
“I just mean that he could be doing something else.”
“And what does that make me? A loser who isn’t good for anything except serving people coffee, a job you apparently think is humiliating for someone intelligent to have?”
“You’re overthinking it, baby. I didn’t mean–”
“Oh, I didn’t think my dumb brain was capable of overthinking.” You laugh tearfully, and stand up before your friends could see you cry. “Excuse me.”
You storm out of the restaurant and Beomgyu follows after you.
“Baby!”
You whip around and scream at him. “If you think what I do is so demeaning then why are you even with me?”
“I don’t think that.” He denies vehemently, “I just didn’t want him to work with you. I got bad vibes from that dude.”
"Not this again.” You groan. Of course this is why he was behaving in such a bizarre and rude manner. Beomgyu is a jealous guy. You tried reassuring him a million times that he’s the only guy for you but to no avail. He gets paranoid and thinks every guy you interact with will steal you away from him, and here he is doing it again. “Are you seriously fucking jealous of a guy I don’t even know?"
“I am not jealous.” He tries to deny, badly. “I told you I got bad vibes from him.”
“Bad vibes?” You laugh hysterically. “If bad vibes are all it takes then I would’ve broken up with you long ago because all my friends got bad vibes from you.”
He rolls his eyes. “Your friends hate me. They’ll say anything to tear us apart. I bet they even invited that guy just to piss me off.”
"Oh my god, are you listening to yourself? You’re so–ugh, just please leave me alone, Beomgyu." You try to walk away from him but he quickly reaches out and grabs you by the arm, turning you around to face him, freaked out. "No, please stay."
"Let me go, Beomgyu." You demand, your anger bubbling to dangerous level but Beomgyu stand firm. “No. You can’t leave me.”
“Let me go.”
“No.”
“I’m serious, Beomgyu. Leave me the fuck alone.”
“No.”
You can’t help it. He’s driving you insane, and you can’t hold back anymore. You slap him.
But you immediately regret it when you see the red mark beginning to bloom across his cheek.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry. You just drive me–" He kisses you passionately, holding onto you even tighter.
"Do anything you want to me, I don’t mind. Just don't leave me." He breathes against your lips, eyes looking crazed in their desperation.
God, this is sick. You shouldn’t entertain this kind of twisted trade-off. You should push him away and demand he leave you be. You shouldn’t take him up on his offer to let you unload your frustrations physically onto him. Maybe you should even end it…
But you can’t. You’re as invested in this as he is. You don’t want to break up with him. You don’t want to leave him. You just want to punish him for the crazy way he’s behaving. You want to feel like you’re not letting him get away with this without actually having to break up with him .
And so you accept his sick offer.
_______________________________
"You're so pathetic, Beomgyu."
He shudders at your words, and you don’t know if he likes it or hates it. All you know is he tries to reach out to you but his hands are held back by the bindings you’ve fashioned out of your scarves.
He cries out for you but you have no mercy for him. This is the punishment he chose for himself and you’ll be damned if you don’t make the most of it.
“You’ve really pissed me off this time, Beomgyu. Acted so crazy just so I wouldn’t leave you. Well, now you get to sit back and watch me fuck myself and you can do nothing about it.” You taunt him as you ride the dildo you have strapped around his abdomen, his own cock brushing up against your ass every time you move, getting enough stimulation to keep him hard but not nearly enough to get him off.
"Please, sit on my cock. It feels better than that plastic toy. I'm all hard and ready for you. Ride me, please. Cum on my dick. Use me instead of that toy." He babbles, but you don’t listen.
You want to make him suffer, and you’re scared to dwell too long on where that emotion comes from. You love your boyfriend. You’ve never wanted to hurt him before, but he really pushed you too far this time.
"You did this. You’re making me do this to you. You’re being a terrible boyfriend."
"No, don’t say that.” He shakes his head vehemently, getting teary. “I'm sorry. I’ll do anything to make it better. Whatever you want."
"Will you let him work with me?" You hazard to ask and his face immediately transforms. "No."
You scoff–so much for being apologetic–and ride the dildo faster, moaning out loud just to piss him off. You see him struggling and feel him trying to buck his hips against you but he can’t accomplish much more than his cock just grazing your ass.
Still, you can feel the wetness from the precum touching your skin. “You’re fucking ridiculous.”
“You just don’t know what you are to me.” He counters, leaving you speechless. One thing about Beomgyu is that he will never fail to tell you just how much you mean to him. It’s why you’ve always been so weak when it comes to him.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t punish him for his behavior. “Clearly not much if you don’t even trust me to work with him.”
“You don’t know.” He insists, but doesn’t deny your claim which pisses you off even more.
“Don’t know what? That you think I’ll cheat on you if given the slightest chance? Is that something she did to you? Is that why you’re so fucked up?”
His silence is all you need to know, and you don’t know if you should feel bad for him that the woman he loved so much cheated on him, or angry that he assumes you would do the same just because she did.
“Fuck you, Beomgyu.” The two emotions mix together and fuel you further, and you put your hand between your legs to touch yourself, getting yourself off if only just to spite him, knowing how much he needs to always be the cause of your pleasure.
“Baby, please.” He begs, seeing you inch closer to your end, and it’s killing him that he’s not the reason for it. Little does he know that his desperation and blinding need for you is the greatest contributor to your impending fall over the edge.
But you don’t let him know that, jumping erratically on the dildo and attacking your poor clit with your fingers, sending yourself off on the most emotionally exhausting orgasm of your life.
“Baby…” You can hear him whimper pitifully in the background, his shape blurry in front of you as you fight off your own tears. “Baby…”
“What is it?” You hiss after your orgasm passes, anger finally overpowering the lust. “Do you want to cum? Is that what you’re concerned about? Your dick?”
“That’s not it.” He tries to deny it but you’re already untying him. And despite his denial, as soon as his hands are free, he tries to reach out to grab you but you take his hands and forcefully pull them off your body. He tries to fight you but you hiss sharply at him, "Stay."
He whimpers but listens, and when he looks like he won’t go back on his words, you let go of his hands. "Touch yourself."
"I want you to touch me." He whines and you slap his thigh. "You don't get to make demands. Not after the way you behaved in front of my friends. You embarrassed me!"
"I'm sorry." He mewls, one hand going to his dick and the other playing with his nipples, putting on a show for you, needing to gain your favor once again. Which is precisely why you lean over him to grab your phone from the night stand and unlock it, pretending to be scrolling through it as he jerks off.
“Baby!” He protests heatedly, reaching out to touch you. Beomgyu fucking hates it when you don’t give him any attention. He withers without it.
“Did I say you could touch me?” You seethe, not bothering to take his hands off this time, opting instead to intimidate him into it, and thankfully he retracts his hands at your tone as if it had burned him.
“Keep jerking off.” You instruct, and as soon as he does, you go back to looking at your phone.
"Look at me." He whines, but doesn’t stop this time. You can hear the wet sounds of his hand moving over his cock and see the movement out of the corner of your eyes.
“Please.”
You ignore him.
“Just look at me.”
You keep looking at your phone.
"Princess…."
You snap your head up, narrowing your eyes at him. He never called you that. In fact, he almost makes it a point not to call you that so he wouldn’t “feed into your prince delusion”. So for him to say that right now was really low. Not that Beomgyu cared, as long as he had your attention.
"Yeah, yeah, that's it." He moans, thrusting into his fist.
Maybe it's sick. Maybe you're enabling his behavior but god, was it so sexy to have him so completely obsessed with you that just your gaze is enough to get him off.
“Is this what you want, Beomgyu? For me to look at you and see how you’re such a pathetic slut that you can’t even get off without me giving you my attention?”
Beomgyu doesn’t even try to deny it, nodding enthusiastically. “Yes. Never want you to look away from me. I missed you so much.” He hiccups, thrusting up into his tight fist.
Here he goes again, talking about how much he misses you. You’re sure if you spend every single second of your life with him he’d still complain about missing you. You can’t call him out too much on it though–not when you feel the same, not when you thrive on it.
“Can I cum?” Beomgyu asks breathlessly and you sneer down at him. “No.”
He lets out a heart-broken moan, hand clenching at your thigh. “No. Please. Need to cum.”
"You don't deserve it. Stop." You say cooly, and he wails. "Please. I need to cum. I can’t–I can’t.”
His voice gets high and breathy, strung out, but you don’t care. No, you relish in it, knowing what you’ll make him do next. "Stop."
He cries out, shaking his head violently, not stopping. "No. No. I need it."
You can see how close he is. You can see his cock flushing red, his balls tightening and his precum pouring out of his head. You have to put a stop to it, physically removing his hands yourself, but as soon as you touch him he loses it, staining your belly with his cum.
"Ah--ah--oh god–please touch me–please." He bucks his hips in the air, unable to reach you, and cries, tears pouring down his face. "I love you. I love you. Please use me. Please don't leave me.”
You've never been this rough with Beomgyu and for a second you wonder if you're going too far, but he looks so fucked out by the way you’re being mean to him that you can’t back down now.
Still he is your sweetheart. He’ll always be your sweetheart and you can’t bear to see him in such distress, even if he brought it onto himself with his jealous and obsessive ways.
"Hush, Beomgyu." You murmur, grabbing his dick and jerking him off. He gasps from the overstimulation, his hooded eyes blowing wide as he grabs onto the sheets, but he doesn’t stop you, thrusting his hips up into your grip instead.
"Ah–oh fuck–AHH–"
"Cum for me, Beomgyu." Your hand blurs over his cock, wet slapping sounds filling the room as your fist collides with his balls on each downstroke.
"Yes–princess–all for you." If you didn’t know any better, you would’ve found the sound of him calling you ‘princess’ the most natural thing in the world. As if he had always done it. As if he truly believes it.
But it’s all just to get you to give him what he wants, and sadly, it works. You’re as weak for him as he is for you. It’s unhealthy–is what your friends have told you after his charms have worn off in their eyes, but you fear it would never wear off for you. You’re absolutely, sickeningly in love with him and that’s why you’ll always make excuses to let him do the crazy things he does to you and for you.
And the things you do to him.
Beomgyu looks spent after his orgasm and he tries to pull you down in his arms to cuddle, but you stop him.
"Wait a second." You say, grabbing a few tissues and wiping yourselves off.
His hold on you remains so tight you feel his heart beat furiously against your chest. "I'm sorry for what I’ve said. I just don't want you to work with him."
You look up at him, mind a little clearer now that you’re all wrapped up in his warmth, feeling safe in his embrace.
"I will work with him. You need to get over your jealousy. I've had enough." You inform him simply. Yes, you’ve done nothing but entertain his delusions so far, but it’s high time for you to starting actually doing something about it. You know you’ll only be ruining yourself later if you don’t. Who knows what he’ll demand next if you let this go. For you to not talk to other men? To stop seeing your friends who are trying to tear you apart? To quit your job so you’d always be around him? No, you have to put your foot down now.
Beomgyu looks so pissed off at what you’ve said, but he doesn’t say anything. He just holds you tightly, burying his face in your neck and gripping onto you so hard, you’re sure his fingers will leave marks. That’s fine. You’ll just wear something to cover the bruises. Just as long as you make this work.
________________________________________
That night, you have another dream about prince Beomgyu, but this time a new character makes an appearance, and that is Lord Taehyun.
"What are you doing here?" Dream Beomgyu bursts into your room, finding you and Taehyun together.
"I came to visit the lady." Taehyun’s demeanor appears relaxed but you can see the tension around the edges of his mouth.
"Beomgyu, relax–" You try to calm him down, and he turns on you. "How long has he been here? Did he do anything to you?"
“No, we just talked!” You snap, trying to yank your hand back from him but his grip is bruisingly-tight.“How did he get in?”
“That’s none of your business.” You refuse to tell him but that just sets him off.
“You are my business.” He shouts, making Taehyun get up, “Let her go. You’re hurting her.”
“Fuck you.” Beomgyu was becoming aggressive, and Taehyun looked quite on edge himself. You knew you had to be the one to de-escalate this situation before it exploded so you step closer to Beomgyu and hiss in his ear. “Get a grip, Beomgyu.” You hiss lowly at him then turn to Taehyun with an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, Taehyun. I need to talk to Beomgyu privately.”
The dream ends there, and when you wake up in the morning, you make no mention of it to Beomgyu.

which of these jegulus fics would you like me to begin writing? and/or which one is the most interesting
it turns out I can't make another poll. idk how to feel about that. anyway, well, I'll just write them down then, heehee.
also, I didn't add Winston Morgue because that one is already being written & people like it so... here is The Duality of man as well as A Shutter in the Shuddering as some morbid replacements.
LONG GREY LINE Regulus Black is a retired Lt. Col. in the army. He's blind and impossible to get along with due to his bitter nature. Draco Malfoy is at school and is looking forward to going to college. To help pay for a trip home for Christmas, he agrees to look after Regulus over Thanksgiving, as Regulus is Draco's uncle (sort of) after all, and they had never met. Draco's mother says this will be easy money, but she didn't reckon on Regulus spending his Thanksgiving in New York. [ movie reenactment - Regulus is Draco's Uncle - James comes in at the end :( though ]
CONTRA MUNDUM It's a bit of an issue when you're a month away from proposing to your girlfriend and suddenly develop a debilitating crush on the publisher of your book. [ publisher Regulus / author James - Awkward moments - Coworkers to Friends to MORE MAYBE??? ]
ANGELES' ANGEL When filming a biopic in LA, the star of the movie James Potter is playing the part of model Regulus, and upon realising he has no idea how to play Regulus, they both go for dinner to learn more about each other. For work, of course. [ famous actor James / famous model Regulus - Coffee Shop AU but it's so luxurious you can't help but hate them for it - Secret Relationship ]
SETTLE DOWN & EAT YOUR PANCAKES After getting into a car crash James finds himself unable to remember anything but his name, and, distressingly, he can't recognise his husband right in front of him. As Regulus helps the naive James, the latter begins to fall in love all over again with the love of his life. [ 50 First Dates AU - Memory loss/Amnesia - Falling in love again ]
A SHUTTER IN THE SHUDDERING When James Potter, a famous Ghost Photographer visits the so-called haunted house "Shuddering", he doesn't expect to see the face of a beautiful yet very clearly dead boy in the mirror behind him. [ nonbeliever photographer James Potter x Picture-Of-Dorian-Gray-Esque muse Regulus Black - modern gothic literature ]
DUALITY OF MAN The Bloodletter Murderer is still on the loose, and James Potter, a resident private investigator, is on the case. When the Malfoy Family is viciously murdered and Come Find Me, Jamesy is written in their blood, James decides enough is enough and brings backup on this increasingly disturbing case. Soon enough, Regulus Black, a nationally celebrated forensic scientist, is beside James while they examine the bodies of his relatives. Of course, the one thing that James doesn't know about his dear friend Regulus is that the man has a secret hobby of calligraphy. Only, the ink always seems to be in blood. [ Murder mystery except we know who the killer is - Hero / Villain ]
KISS THE CHEF Regulus is the loud and proud owner of a Michelin-star restaurant by the name of Au Bon Vivant. It's been in his family for generations, and after his eldest brother held no interest in taking it over, the reigns were given to Regulus instead. But the boy quickly found out what exactly was supplying his family with so much money over the years. [ chef Regulus Black / mafia boss James Potter - restaurant AU x mafia AU ]
MY CLOSEST YET FURTHEST FRIEND Regulus has always thought the Sun to be his only friend. Always a warm hand on his face while he goes about doing his daily duties, that is who the Sun is to him. He wants to meet the Sun, wants to meet the beauty that is that glowing brightness. Desperately, Regulus Black constructs wings to see his best friend. A pity that wax melts when too close to a fire. It turned out the Sun was James Potter, and he was so beautiful, so lovely, that it burned. [ mythology retelling - Regulus is Icarus and James is Apollo/The Sun - Sirius is Daedalus ]
A SPECTRE IS YOUR "MORTAL SOUL" There isn't enough room in this town for the both of them. When Vampire Regulus Black, posing as a Sheriff, saunters into the town of bandits looking for new prey, he doesn't realise his archenemy James Potter, a renowned Vampire Hunter, as well as actual Sheriff, is running the town. [ Western AU - Vampire / Vampire Hunter ]
IN THE CLOUDS, YOU LIVE STILL As the Wizarding War continues to surge on for far longer than anybody expected, the Death Eaters, now the losing side, lost their General, Regulus Black. Goo Kim x Reader: Coffee Shop
G/N. Ah the coffee shop!AU trope. Or alternatively, Goo owns a coffee shop on the side. Either way, you work with Goo in a coffee shop.
The coffee shop you work at is famous for two things.
One - the quality of the coffee. Apparently the owner is something of a snob and only sources and serves the best.
Two - the shocking customer service, courtesy of your coworker, Goo Kim. You don't know how he gets away with it. You don't know how he is still employed.
Maybe it's because no matter how long the queue is, once they get to Goo, all frustration dissipates as soon as he says, "What can I do for you, babe?"
Or it could be that even though he messes up orders, he has the gall to say: "You'll like it better that way, trust me sweetheart." Worst of all, it works.
Actually, you do know how he gets away with it.
Correction, the coffee shop you work at is famous for three things: the best coffee, the worst customer service and the hottest barista known to man.
Goo Kim is hot. Period. The kind of hot that draws customers. That makes them return time and time again even as he gives them the wrong drink and overcharges them. That lets him get away with his shitty attitude and cocky behaviour.
That's just how hot he is.
.
.
"The owner is kind of a tyrant." At least, that's what Goo tells you as you've never met the owner before. "And me and him are kind of tight," he says, waltzing into his shift exactly two hours and thirty seven minutes late.
You know this because you've been keeping an eye on the clock in between serving the horde of tired, irate customers during the morning rush on your own.
You would happily bet you're now more tired and more irate than all the previous customers combined.
"I don't give a shit," you snap, rushing past him to complete the next order as he casually puts on his apron. Fuck, did they ask for oat or soy? Damnit.
"Language," he sing-songs, plucking the finished drink out of your hand and calling out for the customer to collect.
"Medium latte, two shots caramel, oat milk!"
It's entirely unnecessary. The morning rush is largely over and there's only one customer waiting. She approaches Goo looking annoyed.
"I asked for soy milk."
"Sweetheart," he says, eyes twinkling behind his glasses. What should really be demeaning and patronising comes out all filthy and seductive, "It tastes better like this."
You watch in disbelief as her irritation evaporates and she honest to god giggles, taking the drink and handing over a hefty tip.
Goo pockets the money.
"Hey! That's mine!" You square up to him. He comes in late, does nothing, then practically steals from you?
"You got the order wrong. She would be throwing a fit if it wasn't for me." It's less chastising you and more a chance to inflate his ego. Still, you begrudgingly admit he's correct.
.
.
It's only been a month working together, technically less than twenty shifts, and already you're sick of the guy.
Goo was the one that interviewed you. Both crammed into what you assume is the owner's office. Even for such a small space, it's well decorated.
Maybe well decorated is a reach. But everything in there screams expensive. Designer logos everywhere that even you, with your lack of knowledge, can tell is worth more than your entire, pitiful, savings.
The blonde sits opposite, knees knocking into yours when he crosses his long legs.
He explains that he works here. "Just a lowly ordinary barista," he says with a laugh, as if he's letting you in on a joke. Except he's dressed in a fancy blue suit and you wonder what sort of barista wears a suit to work and also gets paid that much.
He tells you, perhaps as a way of small talk, that the chair you're sitting on is imported from Barcelona. Ok. You don't care. It's not like you'll ever import one yourself.
Instead you launch straight into your spiel. The one where you make all your work and personal achievements seem bigger and better than it is. Embellishments. Harmless enhancements you've memorised from your resume.
The more you talk, the higher Goo's eyebrows recede into his hairline.
"And I increased the footfall by 113% last December-"
"Are you nervous?" He cuts you off. You wonder what sort of question that is, is it part of the interview, is it a test. You settle for answering honestly.
"Kinda," you say, giving him a lopsided grin, "I'm being interviewed."
Goo takes a moment to consider this, then- "What do you think of my hair?"
Your mouth runs before your brain can, "Your roots are coming through."
The moment you leave the coffee shop, bell jingling above the door, your phone rings from an unknown number.
"You're hired," A voice tells you, and you know it's Goo Kim. You can even hear the pout in his voice. "The owner likes you."
"Thank you!" You're practically vibrating with glee, you thought for sure you messed up your chances.
That was, coincidentally, the last time you were happy to hear from Goo.
.
.
"You'll get coffee on my white suit!" Your belligerent, infuriating coworker snips at you and you want to smack him.
"I'm not the idiot wearing a white suit to work in a coffee shop." You snarl back, then drown out the sound of his whines with the frother.
You watch the milk temperature climb in time with your own temper.
"Don’t be mad," his voice drifts into your ear and you jolt at the proximity. Turning around, you find his face inches from yours, lips pulled down and big brown eyes peering straight into yours.
He doesn't look like his usual smug self here. He looks silly and maybe- the teeniest bit cute.
Ugh, you shake those thoughts from your head. However, a part of you thinks you should be a bit more amenable with him. You're still new and it's obvious that he pulls some strings around here.
"It's fine," you mutter, rolling your eyes to high heavens and returning back to the task at hand.
.
.
"What are you doing?" you blink at Goo flipping the sign from Open to Closed a full four hours early.
"Shoo! Out!" He shouts at the practically full store, motioning at them all to leave. "We! Are! Closed!"
Angry grumbles fill the air as the patrons start to shift.
"This is unacceptable!" A guy still gripping onto his full cup of coffee rounds on Goo. You wonder if he's gonna throw it at him. It wouldn't be undeserved.
"Sorry babe, personal emergency. You know how it is," Goo smiles, toothy and affable, "I'll make it up to you next time." He grabs the mug out of the other man's hands and he doesn't even react. "Come back soon!"
The customer leaves without further argument. You think you catch him mumbling sure and see you soon. You know beyond a shadow of a doubt as you catch the guy blushing, he will be back to catch a glimpse of the blonde barista and hear Goo call him babe again.
Goo wheels around a TV that you think must be at least 85 inches. You didn't think the shop had anywhere to store something so big. He must have pulled it out of his ass.
"What is this?"
"Season finale time," he tuts at you, as if you're the one being an idiot for not following this absurd chain of events.
"What?"
Goo mentions a name that you think could be a show, or it could be a new coffee bean, you're not sure. He ignores your confusion, positioning the TV in front of one of the many sofas and fiddles with the remote.
"Are we really doing this?" You ask as he flops down with a bowl of popcorn (and where did that also come from), giving you a grin and patting the space next to him.
"You're getting paid, aren't you?"
You can't argue with that and take your seat.
.
.
You don't really know what's going on, but the animation is good enough and the character dynamics are fun so you keep watching.
You keep watching even once your shift has officially finished and it turns dark outside. Eyes glued to the screen, you cheer when one of the characters dies, gasp when another one also dies, then clap your hands once the credit rolls.
"That was good-"
Sounds of sniffling cut off your next words and you turn to look at Goo. Both his hands clutching white knuckled to the now empty bowl of popcorn.
It's kind of jarring seeing him like this. Your coworker who pisses you off more often than not. You didn't even realise he's capable of any emotion that wasn’t meant to spike your blood pressure. It's… sweet. A change from his usual bravado.
You reach over and swipe with gentle fingers at the tears under his glasses and he gives you a watery smile in return.
"Yeah, I felt sad when they died too," you offer and you see his lip wobble.
"IT WAS SO FUCKING SAD!" He wails, throwing his head back and bowl clattering to the floor. "I can't believe they did that," His emotions take a turn, face scrunching up in anger as he fishes his phone out of his pocket, "I'm going to send the writer death threats."
You hear tap tap tap followed by unhinged cackling.
You never understood the kind of person that would send death threats but you take one look at the maniac typing next to you, fingers a blur across the keyboard, and you realise this completely tracks.
.
.
If possible, your coworker becomes more annoying after that.
He's taken to neglecting the majority of his duties, and instead mostly watches you work.
"Help me out," you plead, spirit broken as he barely lifts a finger to help with the lunch rush.
"Ah ah! I'm supervising."
You consider strangling him.
He does, however, prevent you from slipping on spilled coffee after you miscalculate your footing.
Happening too quickly for you to form any thoughts apart from 'fuck’, you tilt backwards, head ready to hit the ground with a loud, sickening crack.
Which would have definitely happened if not for the large hands gripping you around the waist, yanking you upright and then tugging your body into his.
It's something out of a cheesy romcom and you want the earth to swallow you up. Although if you were wanting anything, you would prefer the earth to swallow Goo up instead.
"Careful there, sweetheart," You feel his chest vibrating with quiet mirth. Somewhere behind you, you distinctly hear a group of customers swoon.
.
.
"Do you think I'm hot?" he asks. Entirely inappropriate because you're in the middle of serving a customer.
"No," you grit out because you will not be entertaining this manchild. It doesn't matter if you're technically lying.
"Really?"
"Really."
"Really really?"
"Yep," You release a pent up breath and address the customer, "And that'll be 7000 won please,"
He swipes his card, then eyes darting to Goo and trying his luck, "I think you're hot. If you wanted to grab a drink or-"
"Maybe next time, sweetheart," Goo directs a smile at him and you can feel the man practically melt. Ugh. Seriously?
He pours the contents of his wallet into the tip jar.
.
.
"We would make a cute couple," Goo leans across the counter, watching you wipe down tables. "You should date me."
Did he just...? Your hand briefly pauses as you consider his words, then resume the circular cleaning motions. It’s no longer as easy as it was seconds ago.
"And you should help me out instead right now," is all you could muster.
"No can do, sweetheart." He inspects his nails, "The cleaning products aren't good for the skin." Then he adds for good measure, "You shouldn't be cleaning either."
You stare down at the cloth gripped in your bare hand and consider throwing it at him. Date him? No. Your fantasy right now consists of the sound the wet rag makes when it hits his face.
.
.
Goo is in earlier than you.
Goo is in earlier than you, and he's working and he's cleaning and you think it's a dream.
"Morning cupcake!" He tells you in a chirpy voice with a sunny smile that is far too bright for this time in the morning.
It truly is a testament to what a slacker he is. You're so used to him being late or not doing anything, that now he is doing really the bare minimum, it short circuits your brain.
"I’m making your day easier," he explains, "So you'll date me."
You boggle at him. "You're doing this to date me? And not because you should just be doing your goddamn job? Are you serious?" Your tone rises with each word and you think you sound hysterical but you can't bring yourself to care.
"Yep, nope, yep."
He starts whistling and you want to tear your hair out.
.
.
"Can I get your number?" A particularly brave patron asks.
"Sorry babe, my partner is just over there." He jerks over to you with his thumb and your jaw drops open. "They're beautiful, right?"
Goo sounds sincere and you don't know what to do with that. You know for a fact right now you don't look beautiful. You look kind of a hot mess. You can't remember the last time you washed your hair, and it's currently resembling something of a nest from all the rushing around. Your face is likely bright red and you have coffee and milk stains down your front.
The patron looks incredulously at you. And Excuse me?! Rude. But you also can't blame them.
You think Goo needs stronger glasses.
.
.
"Can I get your number?" An unwitting customer asks you this time and you tell him no, sorry, not interested.
"Come on," He leans across the counter, into your space and you take a step back. It's not fun or silly or anything like when Goo asks. It's predatory and you feel your hairs stand on end.
"No. Please just pay for your coffee or leave."
"Why are you being so uptight-"
"Hey," The blonde materialises next to you. He's smiling. He always is. This time it's wild and feral and dangerous.
The smile never leaves his face as he tells the other guy to get the fuck out and that he's permanently banned.
For a moment you think one of them might start throwing hands. Actually. Despite Goo's fancy tailored suit and his meticulously groomed hair and expensive aura, you know he would be the first one to lunge. You also know with complete certainty he would win.
The clean up might be a mess though, for the other guy.
It luckily never comes to that as the man mutters something under his breath and scarpers out with his tail tucked between his legs.
You hope to never see him again.
A part of you is angry. Rightfully so. That it takes someone else for your no to be heard loud and clear. A small part of you thinks of Goo's smile and oh. It’s pretty hot.
.
.
"Sorry about that," Goo approaches you on your break and you wonder who is actually minding the shop right now.
"It's fine." You tell him. It's not, but it's not Goo's fault either.
"Do I make you uncomfortable when I ask you out?" His words aren't playful and you know he's asking because he wants to know.
You think about all the times he's been all slippery with his honeyed words and to your mounting realisation and horror, you find you actually like it. If he's being honest, so will you.
"No."
Your answer seems to surprise him. "You're fine with me asking you out all the time?"
"Sure."
"Huh." Then he grins again, similar to before and you feel your knees wobble. You can't believe you are feeling things for this smarmy idiot dressed in an overpriced ridiculous suit.
You think he's going to wreck you. You think he knows it too.
.
.
"Go out with me?" Goo sidles up to you despite the fact you're in the middle of ringing up an entire office load of coffees.
"Not right now," you grunt at him, distracted and trying to get the order straight.
"Later?" he asks because for the first time it's a maybe, a possibly. Hope tinges the single word. You don't need to look at him to know he is beaming.
Your movements stutter. You sort of regret your words but you also don't.
"Later," you tell him and it's a promise. Goo smiles, eyes fond and crinkling at the corners as he sends a finger heart your way.

Good luck kiss
pairing: choi san x reader (genderneutral)
genre: fluff + racer san
description: struggling from lack of sleep you end up going to the racetrack and meet a dark-haired boy with a lip piercing that captures your heart (1.8k words)
note: that gif of him makes me think of him as a street racer so i had to indulge in those thoughts ^-^
—
Feeling yourself bump into someone else you turn to them and mumble a sorry as you continue hurrying down the hallway. Only having a passing thought about the boy with dark hair and lip piercing that you bumped into.
Waking up this morning was especially hard, you had not been able to fall asleep until five in the morning, and the class you were rushing to started at eight. It wasn’t unusual for you to be late to class or even miss class because of how badly you struggled with sleeping. You slow down and try to catch your breath as you approach the classroom, trying to not look like a mess.
Music appreciation was not your favorite class but it wasn’t the worse either. It really didn’t help that the eight am class was the only one available and usually you didn’t wake up before 11 am.
Luckily there was a minute until class started and a few other people walked in at the same time as you. Walking to the back of the classroom, just in case you fell asleep, you took one of the few seats left. As you are getting out what you need to take notes someone sits next to you but you don’t pay attention because the professor stands up to greet the class.
Only ten minutes into the lecture, you struggle to keep your eyes open and stay conscious so you lean against the desk laying your head on your folded arms. Drifting in and out of consciousness you only wake up when you hear the loud shuffling of everyone leaving. You feel confused for a moment before you start gathering your things and realize someone had opened your notebook and written notes of today's lecture. None of your friends are in this class and you’ve only talked to a handful of the other students, so you aren’t sure who wrote the notes for you. Deciding not to worry about it you head back to your place so you can get some sleep before your 1 pm class and your shift at work.
It was busy at the coffee shop you worked at even though it was Friday afternoon. You enjoyed working the busy afternoon shifts because it meant you didn’t have any time to stop moving and feel how tired you were. It was fun working with your coworker Wooyoung, he was energetic and always making you laugh. You also became close friends with him outside of work and shared some classes with him.
‘’So any fun plans this Friday night?’’ Wooyoung asked as the both of you were cleaning up the shop to close for the night.
‘’Well, I have a very comfy bed and homework waiting for me at home’’ you sigh and immediately Wooyoung starts booing at you.
‘’That’s so lame! It’s Friday night you should do something fun’’ he exclaims while tugging on your arm, ‘’Oh! You should come with me to see my friends.’’
“Oh…I don’t know’’ you wearily say walking out of the store and waiting for Wooyoung to lock the doors.
“I swear it will be fun, we are meeting at the racing tracks!’’
“The racing tracks? What do you do there?’’ you have heard of people talk about going to the racing tracks on the weekends but never were intrigued to go. It wasn’t any official racing but it wasn’t illegal.
‘’My friends compete in the racing, we just hang around having fun’’ Wooyoung hooks his arm with yours and you walk with him to his car thinking that it might not be a bad idea to go. Since you aren't able to sleep early, staying out late won't be a problem.
‘’I won’t be intruding or anything? I haven’t met any of your friends before’’
‘’Don’t worry about it, it isn’t some closed thing’’ he assured you and you nodded getting into his car. Although you didn’t have trouble making friends or talking to people you didn’t know, you found yourself feeling nervous. Maybe it was the lack of sleep or because it wasn’t a familiar setting.
The racetrack was not what you had imagined. It was a normal-sized racetrack with barriers along the outside of the track but that was it. There were four cars on the actual track and many other cars in the parking lot. As soon as Wooyoung parked his car he hopped out and started shouting and laughing at his friends. You got out and followed him to where a group of people was standing near the starting line on the track.
You stood near the group of people whom you assumed were all of Wooyoungs friends because you heard familiar names that you remember Wooyoung saying before.
‘’Hey Wooyoung, who did you bring with you?’’ the tall man with yellow and red hair asked, suddenly bringing all the attention to you.
‘’This is my coworker and friend y/n, this is their first time here!’’
Shyly you wave and introduce yourself and Wooyoung giggles at how shy you are acting. He starts to tease you a bit and you roll your eyes before joining the conversation. One of the boys, you think his name is Yunho, asks if you want a drink and you nod eagerly.
Taking a few sips and standing facing the barrier you look at the cars on the track that seem to be getting ready to start the race. It is loud with everyone talking and revving of the engines.
While you were wondering how safe this was, a voice next to you startles you out of your thoughts, ‘’Do you enjoy watching racing?’’
Looking over at the person talking to you, it’s a boy with dark hair and lip piercing you say ‘’Huh? Oh, well this is my first time watching actually…’’
‘’Really?’’ he seem surprised for a moment before smirking, ‘’I guess that makes sense cause I definitely would have remembered seeing someone so pretty like you before’’
You look away for a second but look back at him and lick your lips. He is leaning against the barrier with his body facing you.
‘’I bet you say that to all the new pretty people that come here,’’ you tease with a smile.
A small playful gasps leave his pouty lips, ‘’What do you take me for? Some creepy guy that flirts with everyone?’’
This makes you laugh out loud, ‘’Well I don’t know you at all so maybe you are’’
‘’I promise I am not some creepy guy that hits on everyone, I only hit on the really pretty people that catch my eye’’ he says staring into your eyes that make you feel like you have met him before.
‘’Hmm…well I can’t be sure of anything yet,’’ and then you realize something, ‘’I mean I don’t even know your name.’’
‘’It’s San, and yours is y/n’’ he smiles and you are shocked for a moment, not knowing that he knew your name.
‘’You know my name?’’
‘’I do…hurts me that you didn’t know mine though.’’ He pouts again and you look at his soft pouting lips wanting to feel his lip piercing against your lips.
‘’C’mon that isn’t my fault’’ you whine a bit and you feel slightly bad that you didn’t know who he was. But this makes San giggle and you can’t help but look at his side profile as he laughs, thinking that his smile makes him look pretty.
‘’So how do you know my name?’’ you ask nudging his arm.
‘’Well actually…’’ suddenly San looks bashful and he bites his bottom lip, ‘’I saw you today in class, I sat next to you while you slept and took notes for you. Your name was written in your notebook’’
‘’Really? I was wondering who did that!’’ you exclaim with wide eyes.
‘’Mhm I did that, you looked really peaceful sleeping so I took notes for you’’ San shrugged as if it was no big deal. You smiled at him and thought that even though he looked like a tough guy on the outside, he was really sweet.
''Thank you for doing that...maybe I should probably stop sleeping in class''
''Besides the drool, I thought you looked pretty sleeping but you should try to get better sleep'' San teased and you blushed.
''Hey! I didn't drool!'' you whined lightly hitting his arm, ''I have trouble sleeping so I can't help but fall asleep in class sometimes''
''Well if you ever need someone to help you sleep, you can call me'' he winked and you smiled laughing at him.
The cars on the track all started up and everyone started to yell and cheer, the race was starting now. Two of the guys on the track came up to San and started talking to him about something you couldn’t hear.
You started to wonder the reason why San came to the racetrack when he hopped over the barrier and turned to you saying, ‘’It’s my time to shine now, will you wait for me after the race is over?’’
‘’Maybe I will wait if you win the race’’ you reply teasing him, except San takes this seriously.
‘’I will win just for you sweetheart’’ he winks and starts to walk backward away from you but stops to ask, ‘’will you give me a good luck kiss?’’
A blush blooms on your cheeks and your heart starts to beat fast, ‘’how about I give you a kiss if you win’’
‘’Oh baby, there's no if, I’m going to win!’’
Watching as San gets into his car you feel as though your heart is going to leap out of your chest. Wooyoung comes next to you and teases you that he watched and heard everything that happened between you and San. The redness of your cheeks deepens and you shove Wooyoung telling him to be quiet. You barely acknowledge Wooyoungs teasing as the race starts and the four cars take off going fast on the track.
‘’Hm…that does seem fair’’ and as soon as you say that San leans over the barrier, your faces so close you can smell his cologne and see how pretty the color of his eyes are. There is a soft smile on his lips as he brings one hand to the side of your face and closes the distance between you two.
His lips are softer than you imagined and his lip piercing briefly feels cold against your mouth. You can’t help but sigh out of bliss into his mouth and San smiles against your mouth.
He pulls away softly and whispers a ‘’pretty,’’ before he hops over the barrier again so he can pull you even closer and tell you how he is going to kiss you forever and never going to let you go.

In-character Q&A - AdVenture (1)
Just a crosspost from patreon!
-
Beth
How did you all meet?
Shauna and I went to the same high school. I met Grant through Shauna; he stopped to greet her while we were hanging out. Prii and I met at a game store, as we both enjoy tabletop RPGs. They also introduced me to [MC], though since we subsequently became coworkers, we actually would have met independently of them.
We all met together at the same time at a birthday party for Shauna.
Who's your favorite of the group?
(for everyone, assume that this flips to MC under any circumstances where they're dating/best friends)
It depends. I'm fond of Shauna, but she can be frustrating. Prii's very charming, but could stand to get their head out of the clouds every so often
Did you have hopes to make it big as urban explorers or was this just a hobby?
The notion of making it big with any kind of video-making seemed farfetched, particularly with five of us involved. Honestly, I was surprised at how popular Urban AdVenture became.
Did you ever think you would have run into anything parahuman-related?
No. Our hometown has a small, low-profile parahuman population, and we had only travelled further afield for videos on a handful of occasions. Encountering any parahumans seemed rather unlikely.
Prii
What was your first job/video in AdVenture? (Prii's fielding this, cause the answer is the same for everyone)
There's this old mall in our hometown that everyone just calls 'the mall'. There's this whole thing with a new development and they were super insistent that the new place is the mall so everyone started insisting on calling the old one—I'm getting off topic.
Basically, we went to the old mall. It's actually somewhere Grant and I snuck into a couple times before and part of how I got the urbex bug in the first place. If you're from the same place as us I don't think it's really that exciting but it made a decent video to an outsider. Though nowadays I see a lot of holes in it.
How did you all meet?
So my older brother is friends with Grant's older sister, and we crossed paths when we were like, preteens, and started hanging out too. I know Beth from our local game shop. Grant knew Shauna from... somewhere, and I met her through him. As for [MC] and I, uh. Well.
We were kind of, both in the ER? They'd been knocked off their bike and I'd done... something dumb, and we wound up sitting next to each other for a few hours in the waiting room.
Who's your favorite of the group?
Everyone there is a special kind of person to me. Uh, not to sound bigheaded or anything, but I make friends pretty easily, and there's still pretty much nobody else I'd pick to do the AdVenture stuff with. I guess if you twisted my arm for an answer, Grant has tenure, so I'll give it to him.
Did you have hopes to make it big as urban explorers or was this just a hobby?
I kept it to myself, but I always felt like we could maybe take off. I was starting to get pretty excited at watching the numbers go up, and a couple of our more recent videos were getting noticeably more attention. So yeah, I was hoping.
Did you ever think you would have run into anything parahuman-related?
I figured we might if we kept doing the videos long enough. Always a chance of running into something strange; we'd already had our share of weird stuff. Always thought it'd just be like... signs of past presence or something, though.
Shauna
How did you all meet?
I went to high school with Beth! Couldn't really tell you how we became friends, it just happened at some point. She's coworkers with [MC] and I went by the coffee shop a lot, so I was gonna meet them sooner or later. I met Prii through Grant at a small get together.
And Grant, I met playing pickup.
giggles
I kinda smoked him.
Who's your favorite of the group?
Aw, do I gotta pick? That's hard.
Um, I do really appreciate Beth's friendship. She can be harsh but I know she doesn't mean it in a bad way. Prii's really nice and encouraging and just generally comfy to be around.
Did you have hopes to make it big as urban explorers or was this just a hobby?
I never really think most things I do are gonna make it big...
Um, urban exploration is fun, but I never feel like the face of it or anything.
Did you ever think you would have run into anything parahuman-related?
Yes, absolutely.
Creepy abandoned places are perfect for evil lairs and hideouts.
Grant
How did you all meet?
Oh, I've known Prii since we were kids. They were in the car one time when their parents came to pick up their brother from my place and I guess their brother mentioned my sister had a sibling their age, and they wanted to see who I was, and the rest is history. Beth happened to just like, be around one time when I said hi to Shauna, and Shauna I knew from a couple basketball games. Oh, and Beth introduced me to [MC].
I think as a distraction, 'cause I was annoying her.
grin
Who's your favorite of the group?
Not Beth!
laughs
I guess, Prii? Like I said, we go back. [MC] takes a joke pretty well and doesn't put up with my shit, so points to them.
Did you have hopes to make it big as urban explorers or was this just a hobby?
It was fun, but I didn't really have any aspirations for it. Like... c'mon, be realistic.
Did you ever think you would have run into anything parahuman-related?
Pff, no way.

✨Pairing: Hendery x gn!reader ✨Chapter 3. Hendery panics thinking he's done something wrong to make you avoid him the way you are when he wants nothing more than to talk to you. Kun is done with his shit, Dejun finds it hilarious and Yangyang? Well, he thinks this is so much more entertaining than doing his homework. ✨Genre: Flowershop au x coffeeshop au, romance, fluff, slight angst in future chapters ✨Word Count: 2.6k ✨Tag list: ☀️Authors Note: This chapter was fun to write, it's slightly on the shorter side but I really wanted a chapter with Henderys view on everything that has happened so far. Hope you enjoy this chapter🥰
<previous> <next>
Hendery couldn’t for the life of him figure out what was wrong.
Had he done something?
Had he by accident insulted you and not apologized??
It was eating him up from the inside not knowing. He had noticed how you would avoid him most of the time you were over at the coffee shop or those few times he went over to the flower shop to ask questions he barely got to see you. It was always Ten or Sicheng that spoke to him.
He swore he one time saw Sicheng make a motion for you to hide when he had been spotted entering through the door and his heart had broken at that. He must have done something but he couldn’t figure out what that could have been. If he didn’t know how could he possibly even try to come up to you and try and sort it out.
He sighed for the tenth time while steaming his tenth cup of milk to put in a latte to go only for him to slightly burn it, again. He groaned loudly when he felt the looming presence of his boss behind him. He knew Kun had been observing him for the past like five minutes since he first sighed and burned the milk and he knew that he could possibly be in for a scolding for making the customer wait for so long.
”If all you’re going to do is sigh and burn the milk and not make the customers coffee properly then go do something else and let me do this.” Kun huffed out trying to keep his irritation in before turning to the customer and apologizing for the fact that she has to wait so long for her coffee. Hendery gladly stepped aside and let Kun take over as he stares at his ten failed attempts to steam the milk for the latte that were placed around the counter.
”I’m a failure.” He mutters and Kun rolls his eyes next to him as he steam the milk correctly.
”No you’re not but you’re here acting like a kicked puppy, what’s the problem?” He asks before turning to the customer ”Here you go ma’am and take this muffin as an apology from me because of the long wait. It’s on the house.” Kun says with a bright smile and Hendery feels his mood go down even further.
”They’re avoiding me.” He pouts.
”Who?” Kun asks raising an eyebrow at the way Hendery is acting. He never acts this way so for Kun to see his otherwise bright coworker standing there pouting like an upset little kid it does raise some questions. He turns to start cleaning up the coffee station while angling himself so he’s turned towards Hendery and ready to listen to whatever it might be he’s got on his chest.
”Y/n.”
”Why don’t you just talk to them? Ask whats up?” Kun furrowed his eyebrows at that. You were a bright and kind person, he had met you several times and didn’t think you were someone to just avoid someone without a reason.
”They clearly don’t want to speak to me! They’re avoiding me.”
”Then talk to Dejun? He sees them every morning and is super friendly with everyone, he might know what’s up. Go over there and let me take over here, I can’t have you burn more milk or make burnt toast here all day. Dejun can probably come up with a solution to your problem.” Kun nudges him towards his best friend who is, once again, chatting up with their customer Yangyang. Both are laughing and smiling brightly.
Hendery begrudgingly trudges over there. Perhaps he can get some help and advice from those two, Yangyang is young and might have more creative solutions than most others and he would have an outsiders perspective while Dejun knew you more personally. Kun seems to be too busy to perhaps even be able to fully help him with his problem anyways.
Yangyang is the first one who notices him as he gets closer and he’s given a bright smile by the younger boy and a wave. The kid is so bright with his oversized pink hoodie and his blue hat that gives the imagery of cat ears at the top of his head. It suits him well and his playful personality he has come to known over the months.
”Hey Hendery!! What got you in such a mood?? Did you lost a bet again and have to clean the toilets?” He asks laughing as Hendery sighs before shaking his head.
”No.”
”No? Then what got you so upset? You got love problems or something?”
At the question if he got love problems he splutters denying it because yes he got problems relating to a crush but that couldn’t be counted as love problems, could it?
”I’m curious too, you’re acting as if something really bad has been happening?” Dejun asks and Hendery groans before sitting down on the chair opposite of Yangyang and leaning his head on the table muttering.
”Y/n is avoiding me and I don’t know why. Have I done something? Have I insulted them? I don’t know!!” He sounds absolutely pathetic in his opinion as he whines to his friends about his problem and Dejuns loud laugh is proving that.
”I mean it’s actually not that surprising they’re avoiding you.” Yangyang snorts and Hendery lifts his head quicker than he would have liked at that.
”W-what do you mean by that?!” He’s leaning as close as he possibly can towards the young boy, almost leaning on the entire table as Yangyang leans backwards with an awkward laugh.
”Dude give him some space you’re getting looks from our customers by doing that.” His friend says pushing him back into his chair before sitting down on another chair.
”Sorry Yangyang… I didn’t mean to do that…” He sighs covering his face in embarrassment, he’s really acting so weirdly and he doesn’t fully understand why he does but he oh so desperately wants to know what Yangyang might know in regards to why you might be avoiding him so he can correct whatever wrong he must have done.
”It’s okay man… You must really like them huh if you’re acting this way?”
”Yeah… So umm… what did you mean by that it’s not that surprising that Y/n is avoiding me?” He asks again but this time much quieter looking at the boy across the table with big almost pleading eyes.
”Well considering the first time Y/n and the others came over you were kinda rude to them you know?” Yangyang shrugs his shoulders as if it had been something well known.
”What.” Hendery feels his heart drop to his stomach.
He had been rude?
”Yeah. You were all like ”Watch it next time” and like you were not looking happy at all, you looked annoyed when they almost slipped.” Yangyang said while imitating the way Hendery had talked to you and his facial expressions during the time and Dejun was sitting to the side nodding along.
”Yeah you weren’t exactly the brightest when you spoke to Y/n that day.”
”What?! No! I didn’t mean to speak to Y/n like that! I was super worried they’d get hurt when they almost slipped like I thought my heart was going to drop into my stomach! That’s why I hurried to catch them! I must have looked like such a douchebag.” He whines as he thinks back to how he was acting sliding further down the chair in despair.
”And then we got a few days ago when Y/n came over all by themself with those flowers.” Yangyang continued as he picked up his phone to presumably search for something he wanted to show Hendery. ”They tried to talk to you about something but you interrupted them, once again looking annoyed, by asking them to move because of the line behind them.” Yangyang shows him a video.
In the video Hendery sees himself and you. His cheeks grows warm at the sight of you in the video but he feels his blood run cold when he realize how you must have perceived his comment about the line. Seeing your shoulders drop and then turn around and thats when the video stops. Hendery sits there in silence not knowing what to do.
”I was annoyed at the queue… I wanted them to leave. I wanted to speak to Y/n uninterrupted. Oh god I’ve ruined my only chance of getting closer to them haven’t I?” He asks looking at the other two at the table.
Yangyang shrugs as Dejun shakes his head.
”I don’t think so but you gotta clear things up with them you know.” Dejun states looking him straight in the eyes. ”Y/n worries a lot from what they’ve told me and is sometimes prone to overthinking. So if I were you I’d talk to them immediately.”
”But how can I do that when they avoid me every time I come into the store or when all of them come over here?” He asks
”How about you take my morning shift and I take the closing shift? That way you can see them early in the morning?” Dejun offers kindly with a smile
”What?! No! I can’t do that.” He shakes his head and Dejuns face morphs quicker than he can say no into a are you serious right now kind of look and he hurriedly continues: ”That’s a tradition! Like a sacred one! I can’t possibly come in and ruin that as well! Like I know you love those moments in the morning of chatting with Ten and Y/n and that’s probably something Y/n looks forward to every morning. I can’t take your shift and possibly ruin something they really enjoy when I’ve already messed up this badly, they might never step foot into our shop if I do. So thank you Dejun but no, I gotta figure out something else.” He says before giving a thankful smile to his coworker still glad that Dejun would give up one shift for him to possibly work it out with you.
”I’m giving you honestly probably the best opportunity to see them again and to sort it all out and you’re sitting here telling me no. I really don’t understand you sometimes man. I would have taken that offer in a heartbeat you know.” Dejun says looking incredibly confused as to why he would make things more complicated than they needed to be.
”Well it’s just like I said, it’s a tradition, they enjoy chatting with you every morning, I know because you’re always glowing when I come in for my shift telling me about what happened early in the morning. You got inside jokes and fun memories with them and all I got is that I was rude to them by accident. I just feel like if we were to switch shifts I’d fuck it up again and I don’t want that.” He admitted sitting there feeling slightly vulnerable.
”Well the offer still stand if you weren’t going to figure anything else out. I could sacrifice one morning of not seeing the person I’m kinda interested in for you so you can fix your mess if you were to change your mind.” He opens his mouth to say something more before Kuns voice interrupts him.
”Hey Dejun could you come over here and help me?? Please??”
”Coming!” He stands up ”Well don’t wallow in your self-pity and despair too much, just go over there and apologize and I don’t know ask for their number or something.” With that he gives Hendery a pat on the back before waltzing his way back to the counter where Kun is working.
Yangyang who has been observing the two is smiling cheekily seemingly finding something funny as he is scribbling something on a piece of paper.
”You know, I’m rooting for you.”
”What?”
”Yeah you two would make a cute couple. Way cuter than Y/n and Dejun you know.”
”C-cute?! Couple?!” Hendery stares at the boy, his mouth hanging open in shock at what he had just said.
”Yeah.” Yangyang is wearing the most shit eating grin Hendery has ever seen and he can’t help but put up his defenses.
”Don’t you have studies to do? Homework or something?”
”I do but this is so much more interesting than doing my homework or working on my essays.” He laughs out loud at Henderys annoyed face. ”Don’t look at me like that! I’m rooting for you! I’m in your corner dude.”
”So what do you think I should do then?”
”Get them flowers? I’ve been told Y/n is very passionate about them.” Yangyang muses and Hendery notes that down in the back of his head.
”Perhaps I should bake a little I’m sorry I’ve been an accidental asshole treat as well?” He asks seriously leaning a bit closer to Yangyang again.
”Are you a good baker?” He inquires curiously.
”I’m shit at it but it’s the thought that counts right? Or perhaps I should practice really hard so it’s really good and they will know I’m really sincere. They might think I’m trying to poison them if it’s like truly inedible…” Hendery stands up. ”I’m gonna ask which pasty Y/n gets every morning and I’ll learn how to bake that one! Thank you Yangyang!” Hendery rushes to the counter eager to get answers.
”This will be so much fun to observe going down.” Yangyang muses to himself before he begrudgingly turns back to his homework which he has been neglecting for the past two hours he’s been in the cafe.
On the piece of paper are some scribbles that if Hendery had looked closer he would've see that Yangyang had written little hearts around his name and your name with an x in between.
But perhaps it was best for now that Hendery had avoided that little tidbit or he might have lost it knowing the younger boy was secretly shipping him and his crush together.
”Hey Dejun! My best friend in the whole wide world!!” He slid up quickly to him slinging his arm over his shoulder.
”What do you want know? Wanna change shift like I suggested?”
”Oh no! I just wanna know what their favorite muffin is?”
”Muffin? Why do you gotta know that?”
”I’m baking it as a I’m sorry treat for them.”
That made his friend stop everything he was doing and staring at him with big eyes that looked almost horrified.
”You. Bake?”
”Yes! Me Bake!”
”Hendery i love you with all my heart but you can’t bake to save lives and now you wanna bake the person you wanna apologize to a treat?” He goes to deny that he’s that horrible at it but Kun who had been eavesdropping on the conversation butts in as well.
”Remember the birthday cake you baked to me? Where you had mixed up salt and sugar? Please do not bake again, what if you by accident does that again.”
”Kuuuuun! I won’t do it I promise! I’ll practice until it’s perfect.” He pleads
”They like muffins okay? All sorts, I think they’ve tried every single one we have so far so just pick one and learn to bake it but please do not poison them or I’ll come for you.” Dejun admits with a small glare which quickly morphs into softer eyes when he spots Henderys beaming smile which hadn’t been around for a while.
”I won’t! I promise! I’ll practice until it’s amazing and I’ll get some flowers too so it’s a real good apology! Thank you!” He hugs him tightly before turning around and heading to the muffin section.
He got a very important choice of choosing which one he will make and he can’t shake off the happy feeling of knowing he will hopefully make it all up to you and not fuck something up before or after that again.

Hello to all my Harringrove friends! I’m sorry that I’ve run off and spent the last couple months inhaling Lokius content like it’s air, but I swear I’m still around!
Please accept this ficlet as a sign of life! 💕💕💕
***
It all started with a lemon and a bucket of tears. After he and Nancy had split, amicably, after finally both admitting that they were better as friends, Steve had needed a change.
He’d been with Nancy for almost fifteen years, since his junior year of high school, started bus job at his father’s company fresh off his graduation, and living in the house his parents had set them up in after Nancy graduated the next year, so he had decided that a move to California was the best way for him to get a fresh start.
He was going to be doing the same job at the San Diego office of his father’s company, but he’d refused the offer of a sleek, shiny downtown apartment, and had instead opted for a tiny, cottage style home nestled beside a citrus farm.
The first month, he’d been pumped full of adrenaline, riding the high of being on his own for the first time in his life. The job was going well, his new coworkers were friendly, and he found a little coffee shop that he liked to frequent before work and after running errands on weekend afternoons.
But then December hit and Steve realized that he’d be alone at Christmas for the first time ever. Sure, he could have gotten his dad to pull some strings, get him the time off, or he could have caught a flight on the evening of the 24th, but he was trying to be more independent, do his own thing for once, so he decided to hang out by himself in the little cottage.
But one Saturday afternoon in early December, he’d been mowing his lawn when he noticed a bright yellow lemon nestled against the fence. This wasn’t out of the ordinary, considering that the property next to him was covered in lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit trees, but now, cradling the lemon in the palm of his hand, all Steve could think about was his mother’s famous lemon meringue pie.
It may not have been a traditional holiday dessert, but every single year, without fail, it graced their dining room table at the end of their Christmas feast, ending the meal on a bright note.
That’s when the tears started. Steve wasn’t a cryer. He hadn’t cried when he’d broken his nose while playing hockey sophomore year of high school, or when his beloved grandma Joan had died, or when he’d been a hair’s breadth away from flunking out of high school senior year, or when his childhood dog, Frankie had been hit by a car in front of his eyes. He wasn’t a robot, he had emotions, he just didn’t express them through tears.
But once the tears had started, they wouldn’t stop. He had to sit down the catch his breath, the lemon still clutched in his hands. What had he been thinking, moving so far away from home? From his parents, his best friend, Robin, who’d previously been so close by in Chicago, from his favourite diner that knew just how he liked his eggs, and Mrs. Smith, the owner of the local creamery, that still, even as Steve was approaching thirty, would give him an extra scoop of ice cream with a wink, telling him it was there little secret? Another stupid decision made by Steve Harrington, the idiot.
He was finally just getting himself to calm down, the tears turning from an ocean to a trickling stream, when he heard a voice through the trees.
“Hey,” the person said, hesitantly. “Are you alright, man?”
Steve turned his head, startled. He’d met one of the owners of the farm, a young, redheaded woman named Max, when she’d brought over a welcome fruit basket the day after he’d moved in, and she’d mentioned that she owned and ran the place with her brother, but Steve had never met him. Was this him?
“Yeah, I’ll be fine,” he told the disembodied voice as he tried desperately to wipe the tears from his face. “I’m just feeling a little homesick. It’s stupid, but I found a lemon on my lawn, and it made me think of this delicious lemon meringue pie that my mom makes at Christmas and then I thought about how I won’t be there this year, and I won’t get to see my parents or my friends, and I won’t get to have the pie, and it was just a lot hitting me at once.”
The voice made a humming noise. “I get that. My mom died when I was young, and I don’t keep in contact with my dad, and I know that’s not the same thing as what you have going on, but my point is that I know what it’s like to be lonely around the holidays. Do you need some company? I could use a break from picking fruit.”
Steve was tempted to say no. He didn’t want anyone seeing his tear streaked face or puffy eyes. He just wanted to cry in peace and get it out of his system. But the voice sounded nice and emphatic, so he accepted the offer. “Sure. The gate’s unlocked.”
Apparently using doorways wasn’t this guys style though, because a minute later, he landed with a thud on Steve’s lawn, having climbed the eight foot fence separating their properties.
The guy stood up and dusted himself off, and oh wow, he was beautiful. He was about Steve’s height, but had a completely different build, thick and muscled, where Steve was slim, with a swimmer’s build. He had shiny blond curls, all piled atop his head in a bun and held in place with a scrunchie, and he had on denim overalls that were ripped at the knee, a threadbare tank top on underneath. And his eyes. They were bright blue and shining like the ocean, and the crinkled at the corner as he smiled at Steve.
Steve suddenly felt hideous, his shirt soaked with tears and sweat from the yard work he’d been doing, and he knew his unwashed hair was sticking up all over the place. Not to mention his eyes that were probably rimmed in red, or his cheeks that were properly a similar shade, burning from embarrassment.
“Billy,” the man said, sticking out his hand for Steve to shake. His hand was dirty, but it was warm and dry, and it was the most human contact Steve had had in a month, so it was perfect.
“Steve,” he replied. “I’m sorry that you had to take time out of your busy day to console me. I don’t even cry. I never cry, and now I’m crying about a stupid lemon pie.”
“It’s ok,” Billy said, getting down on the lawn and taking a seat beside Steve. “Like I said, I needed a break, and I know where you’re coming from. Do you have the recipe? Maybe you could try to make it? I know it won’t be quite the same as seeing your family, but maybe it’ll help a little?”
Steve laughed. “I can’t bake. At all. I might just make things worse by fucking it up.” It was true. He couldn’t bake, and he was barely any better at cooking. He’d only passed Home Ec. senior year because of Robin, his partner. That’s how they’d met, working together begrudgingly at first, but then bonding over a chocolate soufflé that Steve had somehow managed to set on fire inside the oven, both of them cackling with laughter as they tried to remember how to use the fire extinguisher that they’d been given a lesson on their first day of class.
“I could help you.” Billy replied. “If you’d like, that is. I don’t want to pressure you into it if it’s just going to be upsetting. But I’m a pretty good baker, and I can supply the lemons if you want to bring everything else and the recipe over? Tomorrow, if you’re free? And if it turns out well, we could maybe make it again, for Christmas, if you’d like to come over? It’s just me and my sister, Max, I think you met her? at Christmas, so the extra company would be nice.”
Steve thought about it for a minute. It would be upsetting if he fucked up the pie, but Billy seemed nice, and capable, and something made Steve feel like he could trust the other man to make sure everything turned out ok. “Ok,” he nodded. “You’ve got yourself a deal. And to thank you after, I could make spaghetti and meatballs for dinner? It’s the one thing I can cook well.”
Billy agreed, smiling.
“Oh,” Steve said, as Billy was about to return to his yard. “Will Max be there tomorrow night?” He suddenly realized that that might make it sound like Steve hoped Max would be there. She was nice, but she wasn’t who Steve was interested in.
“No, it’ll just be you and I. Will that be a problem?” He raised an eyebrow at Steve.
“No, no,” Steve said quickly. “Just the two of us is perfect.”
So it started with a lemon and a bucket of tears, but it ended with a lemon and the possibility of something great. Maybe Steve should cry more often.

Delsin Rowe x Juno Moore | infamous Second Son OC | 18+ sexual content
___________________
The evening sun pooled through the windows of the empty coffee shop, warm and enticing as the muffled tones of a record crooned, filling the space. As the evening crowd emptied out, rushing towards whatever the dwindling hours held for them, the music slowly evolved into something that the taller of the two remaining employees described as “pot-smoking desert hipster music”.
“Come on, Sam,” Juno teased, elbowing her lightly. “They’re really good, you just have a thing against the singer having a man bun.”
With mop in hand, Sam whipped her head around to gape at Juno with feigned indignation.
“Excuse me, little miss I’ll-fall-in-love-with-anybody-wearing-skinny-pants-and-a-designer-hat. It’s called taste, and you should try buying some at the hipster grocery store you shop at.”
“Okay, first of all, Samara, rude,” Juno stated, throwing her apron at Sam and trying to contain the laughter that was attempting to break out. “Second of all, I’ve seen the customers you flirt with, you’re in no position to be judging.”
Sam’s hands went up in a gesture of surrender, her laughter a sound that always filled Juno with a feeling of home. Of all the people she had met after moving to Seattle, Sam was always one of her favorites. She began as a coworker, and quickly became so much more, like the sister she never had.
“Fine, Juno, you win this round,” Sam said, then added under her breath, “but that man bun is still fuckin’ stupid.”
Before Juno had time to react to her friend’s slight on her taste in men, the gentle chiming of bells filled the background, and both the employees let out an audible groan.
“Come on, it’s five minutes until closing, they can have their coffee up their—oh, hello.” The change in tone caught Juno off guard, Sam‘s voice dripping with threatening flirtation as she threw wagging eyebrows over to Juno.
“It’s your hot guy friend, and you know what he doesn’t have? A man bun—ow!“
Juno frantically rushed around the counter, jabbing Sam in the side on her way past, running a hand through her hair absentmindedly as she stopped short in front of the lanky figure, his hands shoved coolly into his pockets. She was painfully aware of the faint scent of burnt cedar from his presence in the coffee shop, something she would never want to get rid of from her memory as long as she lived.
“Hey Del!” She gave a small wave, and smiled up at him.
Delsin took in the sight of Juno, her slightly tousled hair, the way her flushed face immediately gave clues to her emotions, how her gaze dropped down to his lips for a split second, then back to dance around his eyes. It was cute, the way she thought he wouldn’t notice it. Hot. He couldn’t help the grin forming.
“Hey Junicorn,” he said, then winced slightly. He hadn’t meant for the nickname to stick, not this long. Well shit. He could do better than that.
“How’s your day—“
“So, can I make you—“
There’s a moment of confusion, a soft pause, and then laughter as Juno and Delsin realize they were rushing to talk over one another.
“You go ahead,” Delsin says, gesturing to Juno.
“No, no, it’s okay, you first!” Her soft laugh is mesmerizing, and Delsin can’t look away as she waves her hands at him to continue.
The way Delsin focuses on her so intently causes Juno’s insides to flip, and she notices the warmth building low inside of her, matching that of the heat radiating off of him. He was so hot, in more ways than one. Juno dares to look away first, smiling and glancing down at her hands. There’s a silence between them, something soft playing over the speakers from a playlist Juno created specifically for the early evening. It was sultry and slow, songs that made Sam roll her eyes, yet she still belted the lyrics out after they locked the doors and started cleaning for the night. Neither make a move, afraid to break the moment between them, the building heat drawing their bodies ever so slightly closer to one another. There was no denying the attraction that had built over the past few months, it was obvious every time they were in the same room.
And then there’s a cough, a shattering noise that doesn’t belong in their bubble, causing both Juno and Delsin to jump slightly. Sam sat there, leaning on the counter with her chin rested on hands, the cheesiest of grins plastered on her face.
“I’m just gonna—I’m gonna head out now,” said while gesturing behind her. During the last few minutes, Sam had grabbed her backpack and was ready to leave. “I think I-I left my stove on in my mom…or something.”
Sam passed through the space between Juno and Delsin, turning to wink at Juno and make a crude hand gesture, which led Juno to scoff in vague disapproval.
“Have fun you two,” Sam called from over her shoulder, waving at the room in general.
“Stay safe!” The emphasis on the word was not lost on Juno, and she could feel the way her face reddened. And with the shut of the door, they were alone.
_______
The alley wall digs into the soft skin of Juno’s back, her skirt hiked up around her thighs. Delsin’s hands gripped her tightly as he pulsed into her burning heat, panting against her skin. He was lost in the way she felt around him as he moved his mouth frantically over her neck, rough purple marks flourishing under his lips, marks that would certainly draw attention in the morning. That was a problem for future Juno. As hard as she tried, Juno couldn’t swallow the low moans that echoed in the secluded street behind the coffee shop, not that anyone ever came back here. There was only the garbage, which was the entire reason why they were back here to begin with. At least that’s what they told themselves half an hour ago, but the trash bags were long since forgotten. As soon as they got into the alley way, hands found their way under clothing, desperate to lay claim to any skin that was hidden. One thing led to another, and soon public alleyway sex was something Juno could check off her list.
“Oh fuck, I’m gonna—I’m gonna come“ Delsin moaned, his pupils wild with the desire burning within him. His thrusts were jagged, fingertips bruising Juno’s thighs, touch a little too hot. Juno didn’t mind it though, she just imagined where else his burning touch could go.
“B-birth control,” Juno gasped, rolling her hips against Delsin, craving the way he filled her entirely and then some. The fire in the pit of her core was consuming all of her, her head was hazy with the rolling pleasure.
“I’m on it.”
When Juno opened her eyes again, Delsin’s dark eyes were laser focused on her, bewildered. His mouth was open slightly, and he bit his lip. He was putting together the pieces of what she meant, and when it dawned on him, she felt him falter with his pace.
“Oh, fuck.”
He rested his forehead against hers, slightly damp with sweat, his hot breath mixing with hers, jolting his hips against her.
“That’s so fuckin’ hot,” he breathed out, holding her still as he throbbed expectantly inside of her, thighs tight against his waist. “You definitely sure?” There was a slight hesitation to his tone that she could sense underneath the desperation, a need to clarify the situation, to make her happy and not do anything she’d regret, but straining to hold back.
“I could always—“
“I’m on birth control, Del—fuck—it’s okay. I want it.”
To punctuate her words, she rolls her hips, eliciting a small groan from Delsin. A moment passes, their heavy breathing the only sound in the alley. Juno’s arms are wrapped over Delsin’s shoulders, fingers entwined with the dark hair sticking out from under the maroon beanie. And all at once, Delsin’s mouth crashes on Juno’s, tongue pushing its way into her mouth, his kiss pleading and starving, tasting all he can have of her. His hands pull her down on him, plunging deep into her, over and over, hitting that one spot that causes stars to form beneath her eyelids, and she knows she can’t handle much more. Her moans and cries bounce off the walls, escaping into the Seattle night, and she can feel tension building within her, threatening to snap and expand with the intensity of the forming cosmos. Delsin’s breath hitches at the sudden unexpected tightness, and he comes immaculately undone, pulsing, a burning heat releasing inside of her, as she feels stars go supernova deep within. There’s nothing in existence except the two of them, entwined with each other, alone and part of something so much more in this moment.
A quietness settles around them as Delsin rests his forehead against hers, hot breath mingling and slowly returning to normal, and his grasp on her thighs slackens a little as his fingers tremble. He lets out a soft laugh, holding up a hand, watching it shake slightly. At the sight, Juno unwraps her legs from his waist, letting him set her down, and fixes her skirt as he buttoned his jeans. She notices the way Delsin’s beanie sits crooked, probably her fault, so she stands on her tiptoes and fixes it, murmuring a soft apology.
“Well fuck, Juno, I’m exhausted,” Delsin yawns out, stretching his arms up, then settling them around Juno. He’s holding her from behind, his chest flush against her back, kissing the base of her neck. They were still standing in the alley, but nobody cared.
“Think I can get any caffeine around here? Maybe some place with a hot barista chick,” he teased, grinning against her skin.
Juno laughed, and set her hands on top of his warm forearms, still draped over her chest. She slowly led him back into the coffee shop, an awkward but not uncomfortable feat.
“C’mon, banner man, I think I know of a place.”

do you have any modern!Kathony fic recs for someone who usually has a hard time getting into modern aus for ships from period dramas/stories that take place during historical periods? :)
god anon i hope you have a lot of free time
sidelines by ramarro - “Kate sees Anthony's bumble profile and finds it very pretentious. It does not stop her from obsessively drawing his arms though. Until he starts dating her sister.” SIDELINES MY BELOVED!!!!!!! probably my favorite modern au (which is why i’m recommending it first). it’s just delightful. i don’t wanna give too much away just read it!!! i promise you will not be disappointed
most eligible by amalin (firstglances) - a ‘the bachelor’ au. if that means nothing to you don’t worry, it meant nothing to me too. you can get by with very little knowledge of the show besides the basic premise. i love this one
a supercut of us by joekavaliers - basically a buzzfeed unsolved au where kate is ryan and anthony is shane. probably more enjoyable if you already like bfu but it’s really funny
prima facie by katelai - kate, anthony and tom dorset are all famous actors starring in a new film. drama and speculation follow them because while kate and anthony are married and happy, anthony and tom are exes. this is really really good, super interesting, anddddd hot. this author has a bunch of really intriguing fics - i haven’t read all of them, but i really liked the ones i have! mind the tags though
just go with it by suitsusboth - kate jokingly selects the title of viscountess as she is booking a flight. much to her surprise, there is an actual viscount on board, so she’s moved to sit by her husband, because that’s obviously what they are. right?
operation: barista series by starkswinterfelling - OMG OPERATION BARISTA HIIIII. i love a good text fic tbh and this one is about all the sibs trying to get anthony and that cute barista from that coffee shop in their town, kate, together. so cute <33333
the little things you do by zegabz - flower shop au. kate finds a floral arrangement she made just as she is heading to a bar to meet up with friends. incidentally, the man who so rudely discarded the bouquet she made is there too. screams
it had to be you by zegabz - when harry met sally au. need i say more
june, after dark by stutteringpeach - edwina is friends with daphne whose wedding celebration is taking place in her grand fancy estate in the country, so obviously she drags kate along. daphne’s brother is very annoying, but also familiar to kate… hmmmmmm
soulmates au by teabrigadier - soulmate au in which the first words your soulmate will ever say to you show up on your wrist on your 18th birthday, and both kate and anthony have very decided opinions on their soulmates, since both of them have very asshole-y soulmate marks. there is an anthony pov and a kate pov!!
a place to rest by lookingforthestars - kate runs a little bed & breakfast. anthony shows up suddenly one late night. they go from there
you are the light that is blinding me by lookingforthestars - anthony is just one of kate’s vaguely dickish, annoying coworkers - until she starts eavesdropping on conversations between him and a mystery woman, and a side of him she was not aware of is revealed. peak idiots being idiots love them
i can’t find the words, so i guess it’s time by pentaghastly - k&a have a one night stand after much unresolved sexual tension. to kate’s surprise, he starts being a regular at her tea shop.
I could go on but lol

All Of The Guys My Family Has Tried To Set Me Up With In The Last Month Since I Graduated High School But It’s Ranked By How Willing I’d Be To Date Them:
I’m gonna tag Ly because I think she’d like the lore of this @petalsofaflower-shutupthomas
4. The Dude From The Local Small Business Coffee Shop
Selected by my grandmother, who despite having a gay son and multiple grandchildren in the LGBTQIA+ community, has a terrible gaydar
Pros: I mean he’s cute and smart (he’s interested in literal rocket science type smart)
Cons: I’m like 99% sure he’s gay and I don’t think that would turn out well for me, obviously
3. The Guy Who’s Virtually My Cousin But We Aren’t Biologically Related But Do Share Relatives
Selected by my aunt (who’s also like his second or third cousin)
I do have full context for this one don’t worry
Pros: He’s apparently very attractive, my uncle described him as looking “very american, boy next-door-ish” but Idk what to make of that, but apparently we were in a wedding together as toddlers (the wedding was for a shared relative)
Cons: HE’S VIRTUALLY MY COUSIN AND I DON’T THINK I COULD GET OVER THAT IT’S ICKY
2. The Teenage Camp Counselor Who Works With My Mom
Selected by my mom, obviously
Pros: Apparently he’s my “type”, and is smart, cute, a jock but not a jock, if that makes any sense
Cons: I don’t really have any cons for him besides the fact that I’ve never met him and I don’t trust my mom’s judgment of what guys she likes for me because she picks guys she would’ve liked at my age
1. The Boy Everyone Wants Me To Get With, AKA “My Betrothed”
Selected by my aunt, his mom, my mom, literally everybody on the planet who knows the both of us
Pros: He’s cute, smart, plays baseball, I know his mom; I’ve known him for a long time and my family likes him. My aunt and his mom have been trying to make it happen for forever
Cons: He calls my aunt and uncle, auntie and uncle, since my aunt and his mom have been friends and coworkers for like almost twenty years, so it makes sense but I wouldn’t want anyone thinking we’re related. I also haven’t actually talked to him since we were like under the age of 10. My aunt and his mom have been trying to make it happen for forever
I have no idea what to say to all this Riley Family Lore TM
Why the hell is your family so invested in your love life 😭😭😭
