Oh these sweet summer mornings. When I get to start my day at my own pace. When I don't have to live life dictated by an alarm clock. When I have the time to sit in bed an extra 15 minutes to fill my own cup first. This is one of my morning routines why i will be working hard to keep when the early mornings of teaching roll back around. When you are sometimes already getting up at 5am and running all day until 8pm it can be hard to convince yourself to get up that extra 15 minutes earlier but I'm setting it right now as my school year goal. ❣cup of tea ❣15 minutes of morning reading/reflection It's what's best for me and my kids. Ok so here we are - a little over a week deep in 2018! How’s it going? Still on target to crush your goals? I sure hope so! Well January started off with a Clemson loss...le sigh...well it was a great season so I am just gonna remember the beautiful season and not the ridiculousness of the semi-finals game. Onward and upward - bring on Trevor Lawrence and this new class and see what they can bring to the table. But anyway...enough about my Tigers. Let’s talk 2018 and goals and power words! 

As most of you know I always choose a word for the year. Last year was “create” and that is still a part of my goals but my 2018 word is “productive”.  My goal for the year is to be productive. I want to cultivate productivity in all areas of my life. If it isn’t productive it’s getting cut - that goes for people too - plain and simple. If a person, place, thing, idea, or situation, is unproductive in any way to my life then it’s gone. Harsh - right? Well that’s a truth bomb right there. Its just the way it is. I have goals and I am hustling for them. It feels good to have goals to be working towards and it feels even better to see progress! 

So far since January 1st 2018 I have made pretty good strides towards meeting my goals. I feel like I am really getting back in the groove after the holidays. I am really rocking the daily schedule - waking early and utilizing my time. Sometimes that just means scrolling FB and checking emails but that ok. I have gotten a good flow going with the housework and I am feeling much more organized and productive in that area. As far as career and work goes I feel I am now coming into my own in my latest position at the office. I have learned a lot since taking it over in June 2017 and I have really streamlined my ability to manage the workload and effectively and productively use my time at the office and clear my desk of the work pretty quickly and efficiently. Most importantly I really love what I am doing so that helps a lot! I also have started a little side hustle to earn some extra cash...not releasing any details yet but they are coming soon. It is just a small venture - definitely won’t be super lucrative or make me a billionaire but it is a fun and creative thing that I enjoy so I am excited to share it when the time comes! I ordered a new devotional this week and I can’t wait to start it - I am going to use some of my new found time in the morning to have some quiet time with God. As for my continued efforts to increase my mental and physical well-being...I really have made some great strides in that area this week as well. I really enjoyed getting out and enjoying the great weather yesterday and today - did wonders for my attitude and felt good to get out and be active! I am definitely looking forward to dance class tomorrow - it has quickly become my favorite form of exercise. What can I say...you can take the girl out of the club but you can’t take the club out of the girl - and I love to dance to something with a fast beat and some thumping bass!

Yes, this was so me today! After days of nausea, low energy, and crippling stomach pain, I finally had a day where I felt like myself. I killed it at work and when I got home, I was unstoppable in cleaning up everything my body wouldn't allow me to clean this weekend. I don't always listen to my body like I should but this weekend, I was forced to. I ate what my body needed and I rested when I had to, no matter what.
