alright, now that we've finished the DCEU watch, let's pick up where we left off with Studio Ghibli, and get this Takahata movie over with so i can move on to movies by directors whose work i actually enjoy (though who knows, maybe this will actually be the first Takahata movie i actually like even though i hate his aesthetic choices in every movie of his so far and i don't like how he tells stories). now seated for My Neighbors The Yamadas (1999). know nothing, as usual, and thankfully this is under 2 hours so at least it'll be over quick.

All I'm saying is that Hizashi's note-taking and organisational skills must be fucking legendary and everyone is jealous of him. He has individual personalised notebooks and folders for everything possible, he colour codes, he highlights, he has sticky notes marking all his pages, he writes in morse code for funsies when planning exam and tests so the kids can't cheat, Nemuri is on her fifth cup of coffee as she tries in vain to decipher her own handwriting and is two seconds away from strangling Hizashi because he keeps being massively unhelpful with all his perfect fucking folders
