Boss.In. charge 👉🏽#Repost @kaylova (@get_repost) ・・・ You've clocked in your full-time hours now what's inspiring the rest of your Monday? • • • My #mondaymotivation - the one thing that fuels every hour of my life outside of my job, my side slice of life is #TheTWENTIES. I watched HBO's docu-series The Defiant Ones and between this and #cantstopwontstop I feel invincible! One part of the series that really triggered me was Dr. Dre speaking on the henderence of creativity. As an artist and especially as a #twentysomething #brutalhonesty I often add unnecessary pressure to situations trying to hold myself to other people's expectations. Nervous about the questions, feeling rushed to have something more to show for myself, when God simply put it on my heart to create. I am so fortunate for the ability to produce things that other people 1) enjoy 2) even care about but as Dr. Dre express so perfectly, there is no timeline for creativity. When you're focused on making quality work, it will be at it's best when it's ready, when you're ready, WHEN I'M READY! Now, this is not the Detox album I assure you The TWENTIES Book is well on its way, but hearing these words justified my journey and subsided some insecurities. A message I felt worthy enough to share for other creatives struggling with outside and internal pressure and the people who rush us lol!
