Немного красоты вам в ленту 👸 #Repost @18thcentury_life (@get_repost) ・・・ A portrait of Madame Victoire de France (1733-1799), painted by Jean-Marc Nattier (1685-1766), in 1748. She was a French Princess, the seventh child of the 10 children of King Louis XV (1710-1774) and Queen Marie Leszczyńska (1725-1768). She was raised at the Abbaye of Fontevraud, with her three younger sisters. Victoire was described as "good, sweet-tempered, and affable", and well liked both by society and her staff. She made a success at court and was regarded as a beauty, she was also very graceful, but she remained unmarried. Over time, Victoire became quite overweight, so her father the King came to refer to her as 'Coche' (piggy). She left for Italy, with a large entourage, in 1791 and died in Trieste in 1799 of breast cancer. 🕊 ______________________________________________________ #madamevictoire #madamevictoiredefrance #1700s #1748 #1740s #victoiredefrance #18thcenturylife #18thcentury #rocaille #rococo #xviiicentury #georgianera #georgian #18thcenturyportrait #18thcenturypainting #chateaudeversailles #louisxv #marieleszczynska #frenchroyals #nattier #jeanmarcnattier #mesdames #mesdamesdefrance # palace of Versailles https://www.instagram.com/p/BtO_RafnhvQ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=3boicfow1btf

La Bibliothèque de Madame Victoire (the Library of Madame Victory) This room was Madame Victoire’s library and it connected her apartments at Versailles to those of her sister Madame Adélaïde. It has a low ceiling because there used to be a mezzanine above which contained Adélaïde’s library, that no longer exists. The room’s original furniture is lost but it was refurbished with appropriate furniture, such as the small slope desk from circa 1760. That desk belonged to either Madame Sophie (1734-1782) or Madame Louise (1737-1787), both younger sisters of Victoire and Adélaïde. The armchairs, so-called ‘chaises à la reine’, are from the same period and were part of the furniture of Victoire at the Château de Bellevue. This small château had been built in 1750 for Madame de Pompadour (1721-1764), the famous mistress and later friend and confidant of king Louis XV. He later gave the château to Victoire, Adélaïde and Sophie, who used it as a retreat from the strict life at Versailles that was dictated by court etiquette. @chateauversailles #chateauversailles #châteauversailles #chateaudeversailles #châteaudeversailles #bellevue #chateaudebellevue #pompadour #madamedepompadour #versailles #louisxv #library #bibliotheque #furniture #interior #palace #chateau #château #18thcentury #art #museum #mesdamesdefrance (bij Château de Versailles) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_zWTu8F1qm/?igshid=1naoyz8o5cg0
