“Here comes the lift,” Lady Rust said with a dazzling smile, and turned back to the dance floor.

Merrylee did the same, though she knew what she would see; poor Lady Sybil and Lord Vetinari would simply have to do the turn as normal like the old people-

Lady Sybil put her arm around Lord Vetinari’s waist and lifted him easily into the air, turning around with him in a graceful swirl of skirts, and for a moment, Lord Vetinari smiled in delight, fully and openly. A handful of couples stumbled, and one fell over in sheer surprise, for it was a sight that, unbeknownst to Merrylee, no one in that room had seen before.
