A dragon ring, to help Merlin call the dragons. Merlin got the ring from Balinor before his death. He uses it to remember his short meeting with his father and Arthur starts to notice it. He wonder why he wears it all the time and decided to ask Merlin what’s so special about it. Whether it’s a reveal or not, is up to you!

Tales of Merlin saving Arthur starts appearing as tattoos on Merlin’s body, like Maui from Moana. All the times he saved Arthur, the many (dying) moments with all his friends and foes. The scars that he has on his body are also formed to become the stories he experienced. What would Arthur do, or ask if he sees it?

The concept of Merlin going out to the forest to do magic to relieve stress, not thinking about the burden, his destiny and escape from reality is lovely. Would be extremely super cool if he could learn to fight in his free time, maybe learning how to do backflips or befriending magical creatures. Grow some plants magically, make tiny sculptures. No one in Camelot has to know, he can just chill, which is what he deserves. Seriously deserves.

Having used ‘too much’ magic in the battle of saving Arthur once again, one of Merlin’s eyes turns gold and he can’t turn it back to normal. What is he to do now?

+bonus to help- Merlin can cover his eye with a bandage or a cloth. It would be hilarious if it was a pirate patch. It can also be a modern AU and he uses contact lenses instead.

Merlin can control the weather so, what if, the weather changes when Merlin’s mood changes. For example, if his feeling sad and gloomy, it rains lightly and Camelot is all dark because of the clouds. Or when he’s feeling happy, the sun shines brighter, yet it’s cool and all the plants are thriving. So many emotions, so many weather changes!

The sudden change of weather would definitely surprise everyone and I wanna see how they would all react.

Modern!Merlin AU where Merlin doesn’t remember anything about his past life. Then, he dreams about his life in Camelot and he makes a book about his story. He publishes it and it gets fairly popular. Arthur meets him because they were having the same dreams. Merlin slowly finds out he has magic and they realised it wasn’t just a dream. All the other characters, one by one realise that they all have the same dream. Albion, finally, reunited at last.

A criminal mastermind. Emrys. Who the hell even is he? No one knows. However, everyone knows he has robbed millions around the world. Some even says he had magic. And it’s all up to Arthur to find out who.

Meanwhile, Merlin on the other hand is hiding in the FBI and no one knows he’s Emrys. He’s aware of all of the Emrys cases so that he doesn’t get caught. Being close to Arthur has its perks you know? As Arthur gets closer at catching him, what will he do?

(I don’t know about you but I’m such a big fan of crime and when I read crime fics?? Bro, I just. Heck yeah. When I found out that there’s only a few conman Merlin fics my heart broke. 😔)

The aesthetics of Merlin’s room is truly wonderful but would love it if he decorated it more, maybe something that truly represents him? He could do paintings similar like Rapunzel’s light mural which is really pretty or just some plants around him. Maybe little sketches he could pin or he puts patterns on the walls or wood?

As much as we all love Merlin’s iconic clothes, it gets a little dull seeing him wear the same thing every time. What if the knights or Gwen decide to give him or buy him some clothes?

+bonus idea - the clothing can include accessories, just like his own neckerchief, maybe a bracelet or two? (this is self indulgent but Merlin looks really good in white oopd lol)

Merlin but he can break the fourth wall and talk to the audience about how dumb Arthur is. That might be a hard so I thought of another show: The Office. Wouldn’t it be cool to hear their thoughts all at once. Plus we all need a little humour in our lives.

Let’s admit it. We’re all a sucker for bamf!merlin. How about Merlin not yeeting people around for one second, and just use more powerful magic. I mean, the boy can stop time, come on. Respectfully, he could do cooler stuff. Maybe turn invisible , fly or even teleport.

This is a popular trope but think of better powers for him, please, not just blasting stuff.

We all know that Merlin patches up and sews Arthur’s clothes, right? What if he puts in pretty embroidery to sew the clothes and Arthur thinks it’s a joke? Much to think about.
