You're going to open your phones app store. You are going to type into the search bar 'iNaturalist' and you will download it. While that is installing, you will type in the search bar 'merlin' and download that one. Then you will type in 'PictureThis' and get that one too. #picturethis is for plants. it has a premium thing and its like $12 a year but idr what the restrictions are on the free app #merlin is for birds. you can ID from photos and even description but imo those are less reliable. i maybe use the sound recording song id #its not totally reliable but its enough if you arent like Seriously Birding or whatever #[serious birders make fun of merlin cuz people act like a merlin ID is enough for claiming you saw whatever]#iNat is for anything living. it has automatic ID but it isnt always accurate BUT inat also has community that will potentially ID it
