A Dreamer’s Journey chapter 5 (During her audition, Haku gives it her all, and transforms into a monster on the stage. She sings Titanium with the most emotion she’d ever sang with, because she was so inspired listening to everyone else.) (She misses some of the high notes, but she makes up for it with her explosive presence.) (By the end of the song, Haku doubles over crying! She feels like she did horrible, but it also felt so amazing and thrilling to just go wild.) (But Haku passes the audition! Kiyoteru could sense her utter level of bravery...) “You have a lot of guts, kid. Don’t ever doubt that.” (The play is then revealed, and so are all the roles) Romeo- Haku Juliet- Merli Mercutio- Neru Tybalt- Teto Paris- Gumi Friar Lawrence- Lapis Benvolio- Miku Peter- Meiko The Nurse- Luka It turns out that Merli has to play the role of Juliet, and Haku has to pay the role of the suave, confident... Romeo!? No way! Haku/Merli romance hints finally start to reveal. (Reveal the rest of the characters’ reactions to their roles.) (Haku is concerned that she would have to do a duet with Merli, whose voice would certainly outshine hers...)

A Dreamer’s Journey chapter 6 The group schedules an overnight training camp at a beach resort, the weekend before their performance the next Sunday. Lots of fun antics ensue at the resort. (The training camp at rich Luka’s ocean-side villa. More fun, playing, and antics. The beach episode, if you will.) Merli wants to take the opportunity for everyone to practice hard in a strict manner, but the others claim they can practice while they play. Merli ends up giving into playing at the beach and has also seems to have the most fun... Merli is writing lyrics. They’re really flowery and childish, even though she wants them to be heavy... Meanwhile, Lapis’s lyrics are actually dark and brooding, though she wants them to be cute... Haku compliments Merli’s lyrics, saying they’re very uplifting and sweet. Merli blushes... They play volleyball. 4 to a team, and Lapis decides to be a cheerleader for both teams, because she likes cheering. Merli isn’t good at volleyball and gets hit in the head with the ball. Repeatedly. (The volleyball teams will be chosen with a random number generator) (Haku is albino, and therefore needs to put on powerful sunscreen) While playing the resort, they eventually an event where everyone has to pretend to be the character they’re going to be in the play. This causes Haku to act confident, suave, and even flirt with Merli...! Merli blushes for real...! Could this be a budding crush? ——— A Dreamer’s Journey chapter 7 It turns out that Merli’s biological parents (both Indian), who encouraged Merli to sing, passed away in a plane crash when Merli was 10... Merli is adopted by her vocal coach, Miss Aoki, and her husband, who are Japanese. Their daughter Lapis becomes her new step-sister. The death of Merli’s parents is revealed when Merli wakes up crying at Luka’s villa one early morning during the training camp in chapter 6. Merli had a vivid dream about her parents that made her emotional. Haku, who can’t sleep, is the only one who is lying awake in her sleeping bag. She notices Merli get up and leave to the front patio, where she can sob alone. Haku follows Merli curiously, and catches her crying. Haku is very concerned and asks Merli what is wrong. Merli tells her the whole story of her parents. Haku somberly comforts Merli, who cries on her shoulder. The next morning, everyone returns from the training camp. We skip to next week, where the play will be performed, finally... It turns out that Haku does a pretty good Romeo, and her flirting with Merli seems almost too real... Kiyoteru eventually tells Haku that he chose her to be Romeo because he knew in his heart she could do it...

Hey everyone! So recently I've been going back through my posts in order to make a better ordered list for myself of what songs I've already featured, and because of that, I also started putting together some information about what Vocaloids and Producers have been featured on this blog the most so far! It was fun putting this together, so I figured I'd post the information as a little end-of-the year style thing!

Some of the exact numbers may be sliiiightly off, but they should be pretty close. And the numbers here are up to date through the song posted today (December 31st).

I'm hoping to start doing this as an annual thing, with updates to the rankings at the end of the year.

Also: as a quick secondary update- I have decided that this blog will start to feature songs using vocal synths of any kind, not just Vocaloid-specific songs. I still intend for Vocaloid characters to make up the majority of songs featured here (and I currently have a long queue lined up that still has only Vocaloids in it), but I will start to add other synths into the mix, and song suggestions are now open for solos featuring non-Vocaloid synths!
