On one of the dorm's couches, Meri sits on Tink's lap giggling dazedly, either oblivious to or not caring about how he's squishing the smaller boy beneath him.

"Tiiiink," he coos, cupping fairy's face with both hands, "I missed you!"

"I was at Crewel's for, like, five minutes."

"That was too long!"

Whatever Tink's response was going to be is cut off when Meri throws himself against him, wrapping his arms around his neck like some kind of aquatic koala. Tink grunts when they almost smack heads together, leaning back in time.

"You're so cool, Tink," Meri coos again, twirling a piece of blonde hair between his fingers, and despite himself, Tink puffs up a bit in pride.

"Heh... I am cool, aren't I?"

He can't help but feel a bit smug, knowing Meri would never admit something like that without the potion. The mermaid nods eagerly, scooting closer in his lap.

"And so handsome, too, babe-"

Meri falls to the floor with a thud, shoved off Tink's lap.

"WE GOTTA GET THE ANTIDOTE, NOW."

i ended up making ocs for twisted wonderland mainly because im a slut for character design

these guys are based off the peter pan mermaids partly because i think they were fun and partly because @piraticusdorm has their own really interesting and well made designs!!

theyre just a gang of mermaids that are usually found hanging out with each other, mainly because they all grew up together and have their own reasons for not really wanting to get to close to new people. even tho theyre lowkey standoffish towards even their own dormitory sometimes, theyre still willing to throw down when people talk bad about piraticus. their group is known for often playing pranks and tricks on others as well as for the fact that conrad and tink are the rare few that can get them to back down

i havent thought of names for most of their unique magics yet

MERI BARBEAU - Year 2 student; Special Magic is hydro-thermokinesis where he can boil water on command with the right pitch - unfortunately for most he tends to unintentionally hit that right pitch when he gets angry, which is just really inconvenient when youre trying to drink something at the moment - the most irresponsible of the group and is just out there causing problems on purpose. he often pulls one of the others or some unsuspecting student into pranks he has planned out since the plans he makes usually wont work with just one person. though hes unlikely to talk to the random student(s) he lowkey kidnapped afterwards - thinks its fun to mess with the octavinelle dorm the most though the different reasonings he gives when asked about it is probably a lie - v blunt about most things otherwise since he doesnt really see the point of trying to dance around how he feels about topics. sometimes too blunt but since hes usually with the group theyre willing to cover his mouth to keep him from pissing people off and getting them in trouble

CASPIAN HAVELOCK - Year 3 student; Special Magic is hydrokinesis though hes been heard comparing water as a living thing thats hard to control - often just vibes in the back while watching the others do their things. hes always watching. listening. ready to pull up that one thing they did when they were 5 to embarrass them when theyre trying to seem cool to new students - theoretically stronger than kenn but also like. he isnt fond of being the one seen as responsible for their whole group so he ended up drifting into the ““right hand”” position when they were kids and its stayed that way from there on - v good at getting embarrassing photos of his friends that he often makes into their contact photos. other than that theyre just used to maybe tease them sometimes. even then theyre worried sometimes he’ll actually use it as blackmail - definitely lies the most out of the group to others. he lies to his friends too but theyve known him long enough to be able to catch on quickly when he is 

BELLUS DELMAR - Year 2 student; Special Magic is hydro-cryokinesis where with a certain tune, he can freeze water - described as enjoying the sound of his own voice, bellus is often talking to the others about everything and anything on his mind. in the moments where he’s occupied with something else, he often hums and sings to himself though he has to be careful to not accidentally sing his magic’s tune - that being said hes. pretty careless. it isnt uncommon for him to forget and accidentally include it in a improv song anyways and freeze a nearby water fountain. he also often overestimates his capabilities and limits though thankfully for him half of his friends are responsible enough for them and him - enjoys having his hair played with by people he trusts and often asks the others to rebraid his hair with maybe something like flowers braided in - wears his jacket tied around his waist because he likes the aesthetic of billowy white shirts and refuses to wear his jacket normally and ruin that - loves participating in pranks and all but on his own he just tends to do things like hide someones pencil in their bag and watch them spend 5 minutes trying to find it. how wild

KENN MARINO - Year 3 student; Special Magic is Siren Song where he can put others under his control via singing when he wants to. though the main thing holding him back from being powerful is that maintaining the control with just one person is already hard enough for him - unofficial leader of their little group and has been since they were all kids. hes pretty used to all the others habits and quirks and often reminds them not to do things that are just bad ideas. and then watches them do it while waiting with a told you so - even though he has to be consciously using his magic to use Siren Song, he still doesnt sing to others. he can be found near a lake on the school grounds the groups claimed singing to the others sometimes but he gets annoyed when strangers linger around listening - has a lot of jewelry that he likes to mix and match with his mood at the moment. the others lowkey steal it and depending on the piece he lets them get away with it. for a few days at most - big fan of riddles and word play when playing tricks on others. he doesnt outright lie in general but he Will use phrasing to cause harmless but annoying misunderstandings

- Remy notices that Caspian is :l about his knitting gift and immediately buys a bunch of differently textured yarn. he WILL make something Caspian doesnt :l at or hi will DIE TRYING

- remy would never fucking realize if Caspian lies to him. Caspian could tell this bitch anything and remy would just be like "you seem smart so it must be true"

BELLUS

- bellus hides remys pencil and remy spends an hour assuming he shrunk it and using a magnifying glass on the floor. Doesnt even check anywhere else

- Bellus: Show me your eyes!!!!!

Remy: is this a gay thing???

- I'd like to think that Bellus one day freezes remy's water and instead of asking if he can reverse it remy just tries to eat the fucking water

- he wouldnt mind Bellus watching him knit or using his orb as a mirror (though they dont reflect very well)

KENN

- cannot get over the imagery of Kenn with Meri Bellus and Remy on kid leashes

- again if he ever catches wind that Kenn doesnt like the yarn texture he WILL go all out to find something that will work

- feel like remys the type to go "here i found this really cool rock that made me think of you" and hand Kenn a whole ass diamond. just constantly. wheres he getting all this shit.

- Kenn HAS had to stop him from shrinking the entire dorm before

- has to make sure he's in the most Comfortable position tho, so he often ends up lying over her for the best pets & hair playing. she's trapped until he's satisfied with how much attention he receives....

MERI

- rude lil guy who talks a lot of trash about intimacy because he's emotionally constipated but also really wants his hair played with u u,, especially if he sees kritana giving the other mers that attention before him

- Incredibly Squirmy during most of it. keeps shuffling around and trying to look at her & others, he just has a hard time staying still. if she manages keeps it going long enough though, he'll get sleepy enough to finally relax

KENN

- he appreciates it, he really does. but kenns tense during the act because even tho it's meant to be relaxing, hes worried about the other mers if they're out of his line of sight. Invest In A Babysitter Before Petting

- kritana can distract him with conversation tho!! it'll take a moment, but she'd be able to draw him out of his anxiety by just taking about recent adventures she's been on, enough to help him forget for the time being

CASPIAN

- This Guy..... it's so hard to get reactions out of him!! it's more telling about who he does and doesn't allow to do certain acts with him as a sign of the lvl of closeness, and kritana is one of the few he allows to touch his hair. and be behind him in general

- keeps his eyes closed to the point of it being hard to tell if he's asleep or not. and then when kritana stops to check, he's opening his eyes and telling her to keep going. Every Time. it's kind of cute at first but then it starts going on for hours.... caspian please her arms are getting sore........

- Meri is.... well, Meri. Surprisingly he might be one of the easiest for Kritana to look after since under the effects of the love potion, he's entirely focused on whoever it is that he "fell for" to the point that there's none of his usual Shenanigans to look out for

- To be honest, her safest bet is to just leave him with whoever it is he has his sights on (within reason) because the Moment she tries to take him away, he's kicking and screaming!!

- It'd probably be easy to subdue him if it wasn't for the fact she has three other mermaids to look after ajfjsjjxs

- Bellus is really just his usual self! Or... at least seems to be. He still has his flirty moments, compliments people he thinks are pretty, but he's a lot more... subdued

- like he's lost interest in everyone

- it isn't until someone mentions Percy flying by and Bellus tries to fucking get out the nearest window to see him is it obvious that he's under the potion too. Kritana has to keep this fucker from jumping into the ocean around Piraticus and swimming away where she can't reach!! He ends up being the second biggest handful to deal with if she doesn't want a runaway mermaid

- Kenn is trying, he really is. His habit of looking out for people he cares about has been focused entirely on whoever it is he came into contact with after his dosage, so now whoever it is being buried under gifts by a smothering yet well-intentioned Kenn

- He does listen to Kritana more than Meri!! He still keeps lingering with whoever he's in "love" with, but he'll listen long enough to pull away from them when Kritana asks. Really, the main problem she has to deal with is him constantly getting distracted by things wondering if his person would like this or want that

- On the bright side, he does help her wrangle in the other Mers. But he has a constant longing air as long as he's away from his "love"

- Caspian is a Menace. Until the other Mers, he grew up away from even Neverland civilization with a morally grey at best adult being one of the only two people in his life. So when he's under the love potion affect, he also wants to always be with his "love" but unlike the others who wanna go to them, he's taking Them to Him

- Yeah this man is straight up hunting down whatever poor fucker managed to catch his eye. He'll even go back to his merform if it'll help, which has the threat of Literally Breaking The Piraticus Ship. Kritana really has her hands full ☆

- Hes the one Kritana would have to keep an eye on the most to prevent damage to the ship and PTSD for whoever got stuck as his "love". Unlike the others who just try to sneak away, he's willing to lie and use force to get out of Kritana's watch. Put a fucking backpack leash on this man

the various fishies their merforms are based on!! minus kenn because all lionfish pretty much look the same-

meri's a betta fish, caspian a giant ocean manta ray, & bellus is a french anglelfish

unlike the others, caspian's merform has the more skin-like texture instead of scales and due to the fact theyre cartilaginous, he has more human-like features to his merform (ie his ears & lack of webbing between fingers)

his markings on his merform are also unique to him since the markings of giant ocean manta rays differ from individual to individual (maybe ill remake his marks to be more detailed-)

Kenn - he's capable of trying but that doesn't mean it's good. he has his Moments but most of the time he ends up doing acts of service for them and just hoping they appreciate it

Caspian - he's decent at it, the problem is just figuring out if he's being genuine or just teasing. so it's debatable if he's considered successful-

Meri - terrible. he wants to but again, inherent startled cat energy. the best he can do is leave gifts

Bellus - honestly? compared to the others hes good at both actually flirting and making it clear that Yeah, He Is Into Them. his only flirting flaw is that he often ends up waiting for the other person to ask him out because that's how it always is in the stories

kenn of course is almost always the one with a plan! and then meri tends to try to make one of his own that’s usually a lot worse and ends up having to follow kenns with a pout. caspian always notices the flaws in both of theirs, but he also usually chooses to not say Anything (unless it’ll kill him-). bellus is just here to have a good time!! and he trusts in the others to not kill him. so hes the one who just follows along

22. What poses do the squad like to do when taking a group photo?

it isnt Quite a pose but often in photos kenn tends to end up with his arm around someone just to make sure everyone gets in frame :>! bellus usually is doing a double peace sign or just a single one if he has to be holding something. he just thinks its cute and good for every occasion...  someone (caspian) told meri it was a land thing to flip off the camera and by the time he found out what it meant he just thought it was really funny and kept on doing it!! if its for something school related though he just defaults to an arms crossed smug boy pose. caspian is just constantly vibing - hes almost Always doing a pose where his hands are in his pockets. that or hes on his phone-
