This year has been very crucial for Television as well as Bollywood industry, many talented souls have left us and the industry, in this pandemic, actor Gaurav Chopda’s father Swatantra Chopda, who was tested positive for Covid19 had passed away on Saturday, 10 days after his mother’s demise.

In a heartbreaking post on Instagram Gaurav writes ” An ideal husband..devoted his entire existence towards making my mother better in these last four years. To the point of getting a disease trying to protect her and leaving all of us to keep her company. She left us on the 19 and he did on the 29th.. 10 days.. and they’re both gone. A void, vacuum that no amount of time will ever fill (sic).”

He wrote this note for his father with his heartfelt emotions along with his father’s picture on Instagram.

Shri Swatantra Chopra My Hero. My idol. My inspiration. . Will I ever manage to be a millionth of a man that he was ? Don't think so.. The ideal man , the ideal son,the ideal brother, a man who always put family above EVERYTHING else. An ideal father …it took me 25 years to even come to terms with the fact that all fathers are not like him.. That he was special .. I was blessed..and as his son that's the legacy I have inherited…loved and respected so so much more than I ever will be..a celebrity in its true terms. As a child , me walking down the street or the market always knew that I was recognised as his son. By all. That the shopkeeper will greet me and take lesser money because I was his son…was something that i was used to.. This : when he didn't even know of their existence. It was a regular affair to find some unknown person at our gates bringing along a guest who was looking for our house. All you had to say was "Chopra Saab's house? " And anybody in that vast radius would bring you to the correct place. The love ,warmth and generosity that he had .. the idealism, the strength… An ideal husband..devoted his entire existence towards making my mother better in these last four years. Mere Papa Song By Tulsi Kumar – Will Leave You Teary-Eyed

The song was sung by Tulsi Kumar live in a function hosted by her brother Bhushan Kumar. Tulsi and Bhushan are children of erstwhile music director and singer – Gulshan Kumar. Bhushan Kumar had organized ‘Suron Ke Rang’ that saw many film celebrities attend to pay tribute to his father. The song was emotional and left everyone a little teary.

Bhushan Kumar later decided to release the song publicly featuring both his sisters – Tulsi and Khushali.

The lyrics have been written by Manoj Muntashir and are sung by Tulsi.

Tulsi said, “I was my papa’s favourite and most pampered child. When I went to the studio to record the song I got extremely emotional and just couldn’t hold myself. But I guess it was my father and his blessings that gave me the strength to record this song so beautifully. Ever since the song was performed at the show, I received a lot of fan mail where everyone showered their love for this song as it struck an emotional chord with all listeners.”

“The biggest compliment came from singer Sonu Nigam (who I really look upto) that this is by far the best rendered song by me and it made him super emotional. My father wanted to see me become a singer and today where I am is because of him. ‘Mere Papa’ is my tribute to him,” she added.

The song was released on April 1 by the father daughter duo – Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.
