Hi darling! I'm so sorry that I've not answered your asks yet!! I promise I was just trying to make my thoughts coherent and... not sound like an absolute man woman.

For your wait!! (And just being very kind in general) I'll answer both of your asks with two different ideas, yeah??

For this one (since specifically mentioned) I'll do arcane.

I have this mer!reader au where she and one of her people are brought before jayce and Viktor as test subjects in much the way that mice and rats are to scientists!

Neither of them are happy about it, but are given little room or opportunity to fight it, and they're trying to use science to further medicine in Piltover! (Shh for Viktor) and as Viktor weakens, reader strengthens. One day one of his compounds meant to help clear her gills... physically clears her gills off of her -- she gets legs and starts to breathe normally.

When the council catch wind of it, they try to take them both from the boys, and in turn, raise their hands to Viktor. Reader saves him from being hurt, and they are forced to go on the run together as he refuses to turn her own. Jayce turns many blind eyes.

There is so so so much more... if anyone would like to hear it.

Merfolk!Viktor x Reader 01

i put way too much research into this, so pls comment and reblog

this is likely the beginning of a new series i have dubbed “cryptid!viktor”

part one of said series is my vampire!viktor oneshot, which is linked HERE

you find the merman on a tuesday. 

distracted by the sounds of a struggle, you leave your tiny room with all your notes aboard the ship and make your way above deck. only to stop and gawk at the sight before you.

he’s tangled in a net, thrashing about in a vain attempt to escape. the sailors are poking and prodding with harpoons as you rush forward and shove your way through them. they aren’t malicious. merely curious.

but that didn’t change the fact that they were injuring the poor creature.

you were on an expedition to find something, anything like him. while everyone laughed at your research, you pushed on nonetheless. officially, your job title was a cryptozoologist. a scientist studying unidentified creatures. which, in this case, you supposed that was right. but usually, you introduced yourself as just a simple scientist.

there were fewer questions that way.

“stop! STOP! you’re hurting him!” you shriek, and eventually, the fishermen stop stabbing at the mer. he’s bleeding from the various cuts and scratches and gripping at the ropes of the net with taloned fingers.

the merman is beautiful. with angry, almost glowing golden eyes and brown hair—he has two beauty marks, and scales are speckled across his high cheekbones. the scales are brown, and his tail is absolutely magnificent. it’s long and olive brown, with pale sides and a white underbelly. there is a ridge of what looks like either spikes or fins along his back. if you had to guess, he looked like a sturgeon. but there’s something about it that seems off. there’s an ashen pallor to his skin. as if he was born sick. 

either way, he was amazing. you only wished you could study him. but it wasn’t fair to him to keep him as a specimen. so you had to let him go. 

you talk the captain of the ship into releasing the poor thing back into the waters. but not before three of the men get bit by the merman’s sharp fangs, and one more gets a pretty good gash on his right arm from his claws. 

you are tasked with the job of cutting the creature from the net. most likely because you are the only one who isn’t remotely scared of him. instead, you are so fascinated. 

while the crew is curious, they are still scared. you hear mutterings about “sirens” and “demons.” it makes you laugh. don’t they know that merfolk and sirens are different creatures? but that was a can of worms you didn’t want to think about right now. especially as you climbed onto the railing of the ship to start sawing at the top of the net with a serrated knife provided by one of the sailors. 

the merman can’t get out of the net fast enough. he convulses as the net drops back into the water and lands in the sea with a resounding ‘splash.’ part of you is sad to see him go. but you know deep in the recesses of your mind that letting him go was for the best. 

you don’t expect ever to see him again. or to ever see another merman or maid again. 

only for you to see him when you get back to land three days later. 

you are sitting on the beach, the small waves lapping at your toes as you wrap your arms around your knees and lean your chin on top. the sun is setting, lighting the entire sky in shades of vibrant yellows, vivid oranges, and striking reds. just as you begin to nod off, you hear something strange. the sound of splashing. 

the sound of something big splashing about. 

so you open your eyes and see the merman watching you from a distance, just barely peeking his head above the waves as his golden eyes track your movements. but he flinches when you scream and fall backward. 

“what the hell?!” you gape as he swims closer, his dorsal fin and caudal fin cutting through the water like a knife. his tail moves from side to side, not up and down. 

strange. 

so that theory of yours went out the window. 

eventually, the merman pulls himself up onto the shore, all the while, his eyes bore into yours. wasn’t this behavior considered threatening? you knew it was in dogs and maybe even cats. 

was he about to eat you?

you ask him as such in a wavering voice. you had seen what his teeth and claws could do—had seen how they had torn flesh easily. 

he only stares in apparent confusion, and you realize abruptly that he may not speak your language. you smack your forehead with the palm of your hand, feeling incredibly stupid. 

of course! 

fish couldn’t communicate with humans, so why would merfolk? they likely had a language all their own! that was a theory of yours that was correct. at least one of them was. 

oh, how you wished you could communicate and ask him your questions. 

you offer what you hope is a friendly smile. and promptly panic when you realize you have no idea what that could mean for a creature like the merman before you. sure, you had your theories. in dogs, it was seen as a submissive behavior. but you could have sworn that it was  threatening behavior in chimpanzees and other apes. 

either way, you had no idea what you were doing. all your life, you had wanted to see a cryptid. an animal undefined by science and not necessarily documented. but now that you were face to face with one, you had no clue how to act. 

“i need to give you a name,” you whisper to yourself, and the merman makes a crooning noise. something soft and unsure. he still likely has no clue what you are saying. 

the name is more for yourself than him. you don’t want to call him “the creature” or “the merman” forever. so you wrack your brain for potential names.

“viktor.” you eventually decide, “i’ll call you viktor.”

1.I See Your True Colours - 1st Steddie fic I'm writing

When Steve finds Eddie and Dustin in the Upside Down, he finds apulse and carries Eddie out of there. After three weeks in the hospital Eddie finalls wakes up. His dreams have been guided by Steve reading LotR to him. Steve was there nearly every night, because only in Eddie's presence, he was able to get some sleep without being haunted by nightmares. Wayne of course realises there is something going on, and after what Steve has done for Eddie, he already considers him family.

2. Promises-Series | currently writing Part 4: Holy Diver

Eddie and you have been best friends since you were 10, when you were 15, you had your first date, admitted your love for each other, but then you had to move to NYC. Eddie never wrote you a letter, you weren't able to reach out, and pride kept you from writing him another letter (you'd left him one the day of your move, but he never got it). Now, 5 years later (taking place dright before and during season 4), you come back because you miss him, your best friend. You argue, but decide to talk about it a couple of days later, and that's wehn all hell breaks loose.

3. I'm Lost I'm Found in You - Witcher Modern AU

Geralt is a veteran and has his service dog Roach because of his PTSD. He needs to get away from the big city and moves in with Jaskier, a complete stranger, whose house is too big and quiet for him alone. While Geralt wakes up in the middle of the night from nightmares, Jaskier sits downstairs, plays the guitar and sings, which is calming for Geralt. Ciri lost her parents and the family that's taking care of her is abusive towards her, so Geralt and Jaskier take her in. They're both falling for each other, but... still a little scared about it

4. You'll Make Me Brave - Geraskier Crime AU

Found covered in blood right next to his father’s dead body, it seems to be clear that Jaskier killed the old man. Geralt, working this case as a Detective, had to figure out what really happened, which won’t be easy, seeing that Jaskier isn’t even able to speak at first. Was it really him? Or was someone else involved? Geralt is determined to uncover the truth.

5. Let's Just Close Our Eyes and Let Go - Geraskier Hacker AU

Jaskier operates under the name the Sandpiper and steals from the rich to give the money to homeless shelters, since he’s spent a lot of time on the streets after his family kicked him out after coming out to them. Geralt sees him play music on the street, has seen him a couple of times and finally finds the courage to ask him out. Jaskier takes him to his home: A small flat on top of a building where he has loads of plants. Plants that don’t even bloom at that time of year. Geralt see’s Jaskier’s magic (which Jaskier is completely unaware of). Vesemir calls Geralt since they had a break in their case. In front of Jaskier’s building, he tells him that Jaskier is in fact the Sandpiper)

6. Wherever You Will Go - Geraskier Hockey AU

Famous contemporary romance author Julian Alfred Pankratz is set to travel with the Kaedwen Wolves (who won the cup last year) to get to know how they interact with each other, learn about hockey, so that he can incorporate that in his next book. He’s a little nervous, but still excited, until he sees a familiar face among the players. The face that was the model for one of the main characters in his last book, because they’d nearly fucked in the elevator they’d been stuck in- Only that Geralt had made it clear that he was looking for something serious, while Jaskier is afraid of commitment.

7. Geraskier Your Name AU

Geralt and Jaskier wake up int he other one’s body every now and again. At first they think it’s just some kind of weird dream, until their friends ask them what the hell had been wrong with them the previous day. At first they’re both like “I do what I want”, but that quickly changes, because their behaviour has consequences for the other one, and they start to like each other or rather what they find out. And suddenly, Jaskier had to find out how to wield a sword, while Geralt needs to learn how to play the lute.

though the Witcher ones are currently on hiatus, because I can't seem to focus on them. I tried and I couldn't write anything down

the next day, things go terribly wrong.

you walk into the aquarium doors—they’re closed for a holiday—and hear pained screams coming from where viktor’s enclosure is.

immediately you break into a sprint, and your feet make squishing noises as you run through puddles with no regard for your socks.

that’s the second pair of socks you’ve ruined with seawater in the last two days.

but that doesn’t matter.

you burst into the enclosure only to find it in chaos.

there are aquarium handlers in the cage, tasing viktor with what look like cattle prods. he’s writhing on the sand, swiping at anyone who tries to get near with a net or restraints. there are already several downed employees holding various bloody extremities, and you can see blood coating viktor’s claws and teeth.

at least he could defend himself.

but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re still hurting him.

you throw open the door which is already cracked and sprint along the sand as best you can and quite literally tackle one of the staff out of the way.

he hits the sand and you both tumble to the edge of the water. he drops the cattle prod and you scoop it up before you’re even fully on your feet, carefully keeping the tip of it away from the edge.

brandishing the weapon, you scare the other employees away and stand before the merman, back to him, ready to electrocute someone.

“what are you doing?!” the one you tackled is getting to his feet. his name tag reads “deckard” but you couldn’t care less.

“protecting viktor!” you retort and that’s when your shoved to the ground by something heavy.

you manage to wriggle around and face your attacker, only to come face to face with viktor.

his teeth are bared in a snarl and every single one of them are sharpened like shark teeth. his golden eyes are scared, pupils slit and blood dropped from his jaws onto your face. he opens his mouth and screams.

it’s deafening, making your ears ring, and your eyes shut out of reflex. when you open them again, he’s lunging forward for your throat.

you are going to die.

suddenly, a dart appears in his shoulder and he slumps forward, eyes rolling back in his head, and arms going limp. he’s dry, scales rough and cutting into your skin. your own blood drips down in little beads of crimson onto the ground.

how long had he been on land being tortured? did he even recognize you?

viktor is extraordinarily heavy. at least three hundred pounds if not more, and is currently squishing your lungs into oblivion.

the staff members haul the unconscious mer off of your body and you lay there in the sand for a moment simply catching your breath. then, you look up and see sevika.

she’s standing with a tranquilizer pistol in her hands, looking smug and not at all worried that you had almost died.

“get up.” she commands and you wobble to your feet without another word. that is, until the adrenaline wears off and viktor is dragged away to a hidden room off to the right of the alcove.

“where are you taking him?” you ask, voice trembling as you fight back tears.

you had almost died.

“mr. leroy wants tests done. we’re taking it to the on-site vet to get mris, ct scans, and x-rays, as well as blood drawn, etc.” she says and you scramble to follow.

despite viktor almost killing you, you don’t blame him.

he’s obviously scared and alone with no other of his kind around him.

you can’t imagine what that’s like.

Merfolk!Viktor x Reader 06

i decided not to link the past parts of this series. i don’t want like a million links on my post.

so!

also take all this scientific stuff with a grain of salt. i have actually no idea what i’m doing.

“magnificent! absolutely stunning!” the onsight doctor (veterinarian) gasps as she marvels at the ct scan in front of her. it showed a detailed scan of viktor’s inner organs and body. the merman was still heavily sedated, floating motionless in an upright glass tube of water with a machine buzzing around him, taking said ct scans for you to stare at.

if they hadn’t tortured the poor merman so, you would’ve found it fascinating. 

part of you still did. 

so you watched on, watching as assistants performed test after test with an anesthesiologist monitoring viktor’s vitals. 

which probably didn’t matter because no one had any idea what normal vital signs for him were. 

“what’s magnificent and oh so stunning?” you comment dryly, and the doctor points to what looks like a set of lungs. but they looked almost alien. 

“the lungs! It looks like there’s a resonating chamber. think like a whale using vibrations to make its calls and noises throughout its skull. except instead of its entire skull, this creature uses only its lungs! it also has a larynx, much like a whale, so i’d imagine it makes similar noises. if only i could dissect the thing!”

“absolutely not.” you snap, and the doctor holds up her hands in defense.

“mr. leroy was very insistent that the specimen not be harmed. don’t worry, i won’t break that promise.” you pointedly ignored the whole “specimen” comment. though it did make you wonder. were they going to experiment on him?

testing went on for hours. during that time, countless discoveries were made. viktor was likely an omnivore, though leaning toward carnivore with those shark-like teeth of his. and while his bottom half was indeed fish (likely sturgeon like you had first guessed), he was distinctly mammal, much like whales or dolphins. 

did all merfolk have those kinds of teeth? 

did they all make the same noise? 

were they all mammalian? or were some more fish-like than dolphin-like?

you had so many questions. 

hours after viktor had been released into his enclosure, you snuck back into the testing lab with a swipe of your badge. while it would log that you had entered the premises after closing, you couldn’t help but be curious about what they had discovered.

you logged into the computer and typed in marcus’s access code—he had given it to you when he couldn’t be bothered with paperwork—and clicked on the file labeled “experiment neptunus.”

it pulled up hundreds of documents, and you were promptly overwhelmed.

so you clicked on the first file and found something interesting. 

something very interesting. 

it was a picture. but not of viktor. 

instead, it was of another merfolk, with her human half looking about seventeen years old with long blue hair and her fish half looking long, black, and whiplike. she was unconscious, eyes closed and mouth hanging open slightly to show teeth even more wickedly sharp than viktor’s. 

what fish was she?

you scrolled down and saw some classifications. 

EXPERIMENT NEPTUNUS SPECIMEN #01 CLASSIFICATION: 

KINGDOM: Animalia

PHYLUM: Chordata

CLASS: Mammalia

ORDER: Caudata

FAMILY: Hominidae

GENUS: Oceanus

SPECIES: Homo Oceanus

since when had there been another mer in this aquarium? you had only seen viktor and had even seen maps of the place, so you knew there weren’t any other enclosures unless they were underground. 

was this mermaid a deep sea fish? 

did she not require light like viktor likely did? 

scrolling down some more, you found some notes. 

“tests have shown that the fish-like bottom half is that of a pacific black dragonfish. the specimen is exceptionally aggressive, as such is the nature of the fish. it will be transported to another oceanarium where it can be monitored further.”

so there was more merfolk out there. and silco did know about them already.

I just read the tag game and oh-- that one fic of Kaz Brekker x Reader 👀👀 I kinda forget the Six of Crows duology after I binge-watched the show, but this definitely makes me remember my perpetual infatuation with Kaz & Nikolai sooo... please tell me more lol, I'm intrigued 😳

Rising Tides (A working title, it may change)- Mer!reader x viktor

Mer!reader is captured in the middle of her doing a ritual in order to protect her people that must be done every 100 years. she is brought to Jayce and Viktor, along with a fellow Merperson to be test subjects for their latest venture, medicine with Hextek. they are deemed close enough to humans to test but are considered subpar humans. less than human

VIktor and Jayce hate it, but theyve been given no other choice. thier invention worked, but not as expected. it made her more human. she lost her gills and shed her tail.

Viktor is kicked out of the school for his use of shimmer and body experiments, and so he runs. and he takes her with him as he refuses to allow her to become more of a specticle and experimented on more.

you are hired on at the club as a favor, to keep you safe- even if you dont need it. you cook, thats the extent- until Kaz needs a fresh face, one no one else has seen.

If you see something interesting, click the link to order. New Series Favorites – December 4th, 2019 There are a few interesting looking #1’s out this week. By far my favorite is probably the Power Rangers/TMNT #1 that is coming. I grew up on TMNT and my son loves the Power Rangers so that's going to be fun to read together. James Bond #1 has also caught my attention. Remember if you didn't get your LCS to pull a series you can always click on the link and order online.
