Venturing out into the Mayllenial challenge. I’m technically GenX but I had a younger brother and most of my friends are Y so we have a lot of shared experiences.

When it comes to boy bands, my first exposure that I was aware of was Menudo— I’m not sure if The Jackson 5 counts because they were marketed like those family bands from a decade or so before. 5 seems like some magical ensemble number. Anyway, I remember Menudo pinups on the walls of a family friend’s daughter. They were all over those teen hearthrob magazines. I don’t think I actively listened to them, but they popped up on the radio from time to time.

By the time New Kids on the Block stirred some of my Middle School friends into a hormonal froth, I figured bands like this were old news. Hey, look! It’s Menudo but all white boys! Uh, so, I should have realized it would be a dominating source of entertainment for a “while”.

It was always weird to me how they often changed faces like the cast of The Electric Company and Kids Incorporated. I’m mildly face blind and didn’t realize they were recasting members.

Although not new, Boy Bands, inspired by pioneers such as the Jackson Five, Menudo and New Kids on the Block, flourished during the decade. Groups such as NSYNC, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees and the most successful of the ‘90s Boy Bands, the Backstreet Boys out of Orlando, Florida (founded in 1993). “Alright, folks, what'll it be tonight?”

While Poppy, Branch, and Viva were quick to reply to Bruce’s query with their orders of fricassee squid, jellyfish sliders, and nachos, Peppy took a minute for himself, humming thoughtfully at the menu in his hands.

“Hmmm… those fried clams sound delicious!” he said finally, with a nod to confirm his order.

But Bruce grimaced. “Oof, yeah, sorry I forgot to mention it, but you're not gonna wanna order those, trust me.” Then, with a dramatic lowering of his voice to a hushed whisper, he added, ��Don't ask why.”

The former Pop King looked confused for a moment, but then shrugged it off. “Ah well, alright. I guess I'll take the menudo instead.”

Bruce beamed as he grabbed the menus. “Ah, much better! You'll love it. Be right back with everything, alright!”

The four watched as the purple-haired Troll scurried back to the kitchen to assist his wife with the meals, and then they turned to each other.

“Huh… I wonder what the deal is with those clams?” Viva wondered aloud.

Poppy shrugged. “Don't know! But, hopefully he won't keep it a secret for long.” The Pop Queen ensured to put emphasis on the word secret, shooting a glance at her boyfriend and her father and hoping that they caught her drift. There was something she had been meaning to address with the two of them, and now seemed like the perfect opportunity to bring it up.

But, as it was, neither one of them had taken notice. Branch and King Peppy’s gazes had drifted towards the karaoke stage, where their attention was taken by a performer's rendition of “Vacation.”

Viva’s face lit. “Ooo, I love this song!” she exclaimed. Then, getting an idea, she turned to Peppy. “Daddy, we should all go on there next!”

King Peppy, however, kindly declined, waving a hand. “Oho, no dear, I couldn't.”

“Sure you could!” Viva encouraged. “Poppy, Branch, and I did just the other day! Right?”

“Uh-huh!” the pink Troll agreed, while the blue nodded.

“And you all were wonderful,” Peppy complimented. “But, I'm afraid I can't sing and dance the way you and your band do,” he explained. “And besides… I've already thrown my back out one too many times in the morning songs as it is!” He admitted it with a sheepish grin, rubbing where the ache still lingered.

Viva pouted a little, but Peppy offered her reassurance. “But don't worry - I'll be right in the front row, cheering you on. I wouldn't miss one of your performances for the world!”

Viva grinned and nudged her sister. “Remember how excited you got when Branch asked you to join the band?” she giggled.

“Uh, yeah! How can I forget!” Poppy exclaimed, shooting a grateful glance at her boyfriend.

Branch chuckled. “Yeah, neither can I.” 

“And me neither!” Peppy pitched in, putting one of his hands on his heart, and the other on Branch’s shoulder. “My boy, you nearly startled me out of my wits! If I hadn't known any better, I would've thought your ‘proposal’ would have ended differently.”

“You mean like my sis and Branch getting married?” Viva blurted gleefully. Her words caused the pink and blue Trolls to grow bashful, and Peppy's eyes to widen. Viva rolled her eyes. “Come on, guys, is it really that weird now? I've already planned out the flower colors for your bouquet, you know!”

Poppy gasped. “Viva!”

“Sis, you know it's gonna happen one day! Don't act so surprised!”

Poppy did little more than blush, and Branch cleared his throat, noticing how awkward King Peppy was looking. “Well, only if you will approve, sir,” Branch said respectfully.

King Peppy suddenly looked guilty and sighed. “Of course I do, my boy. And I'm sorry if I made you think otherwise. I guess it's just… I can't believe my little girl has already grown up so fast!”

“Tell me about it!” Viva shouted. “The last time I saw her she was so teeny weeny!” she giggled, showcasing the size with her hands.

“Yes,” King Peppy laughed, smiling at both his daughters. He then continued, addressing Branch. “You’ll make a fine partner for my Poppy. And an excellent king, too!”

Branch cocked his head, pleasantly surprised to hear this. “Really?”

“Indeed,” Peppy replied without hesitation. “Why, you remind me much of myself!”

The blue Troll glowed. “Um… how?” he asked curiously.

“Maybe how you both like to keep secrets from me?”

This time, Poppy’s statement did not go unnoticed by Peppy or Branch. Both Trolls turned to her, coming face-to-face with the sudden stern expression she wore on her face.

“Huh?” Branch practically squeaked.

“Don’t pretend like you don’t know!” she chided. “You said nothing about being in not just one, but TWO super amazing boybands! I have every single record of BroZone and Kismet!”

Branch tried to stammer a response. “Well, I, um… you see, it’s just that - “

“And then, to top it off, you don’t tell me that you had FOUR brothers? Oh no, not one, not, two, not even three - but FOUR?!”

“Well, um…” Branch tried again, “Yooouu… didn’t tell me you had a sister!” he defended, gesturing at Viva.

“I didn’t know!” Poppy exclaimed. “Wanna know why I didn’t know?!” She crossed her arms at her father, who wished he could pull a hocus-pocus and disappear right then and there.

Viva cast Peppy nearly the same identical look Poppy was giving him. “She’s got a point, Dad. Poppy had no clue who I was when we met up again!”

“Yeah! That's just like when you didn’t tell me about all the other music tribes!”

Peppy put his hands up and waved them in a calming motion. “Poppy, darling, you know I'm incredibly regretful for not having told you either one of those things. I was just trying - “

“To protect me,” Poppy finished at the same time he did. She let the initial disappointment in her Dad fizzle away so she could give him a sincere look. “Dad, I love you… and, as a family, I want us to be honest with each other, no matter how scary or painful or downright shocking the truth might be! We can work through it… okay?” She opened her arms for him, and he leaned towards her so they could share a hug.

“Yes, Poppy. I'm so sorry…”

This time, Poppy giggled. “You don't have to keep apologizing, Dad. I've forgiven you, like, a dozen times!”

“Right, yes,” he mumbled rather meekly, and then straightened himself out. They smiled at each other, and then Poppy glared at Branch.

“Now. As for you…”

Branch sighed. “You're right, Poppy. As a friend, and girlfriend, I trust you. I'll open up to you more, I promise… is there anything I can do to make up for the secrets I did keep?”

Poppy liked this question, and pretended to tap her chin and give it deep thought. “Hmmm… well, you could let me have a couple bites of the sliders you ordered…” she said.

But Branch could tell there was more she wanted to add to that. “And?” he prompted.

She batted her lashes and whispered. “...And also maybe give me a kiss?”

Her boyfriend’s eyes widened. “In front of your Dad?”

Having been in earshot, Peppy chuckled. “Branch, there's nothing to worry about. You two are in love.” He gestured his hand out, as if saying, “Now, go on with it!”

So Branch did. He kissed Poppy sweetly, Peppy looking on proudly and Viva tucking her hands under her chin while gushing.

“Awwww, that’s exactly how I imagine your wedding smooch to be!” the golden-curled Troll squealed.

“Viva!”

“a yes or no would’ve been great.” you muttered to yourself as you continued to scroll on tiktok, laying in your bed. about 15 minutes later you hear 3 knocks on your window before yelling, “come in!” knowing that it was miles.

he opened the window and climbed through, “hey princesa.” he greeted as he took off his shoes and left them underneath the window on a mat.

“hey.” you smiled as you got off your bed to give him a hug which he returned with a soft smile.

miles pulled away from you as looked around your room and saw that you have multiple band posters and led lights in your room.

he also noticed that you had a couple of electric guitars hung up on your wall. he looked extremely fascinated as he admired all of them that had different styles and colors and some have a couple of stickers while some don’t.

“i guess it just never came up in one of our convos.” you shrugged nonchalantly.

“okay.” you said as you started to set it up by plugging it into the speaker. you unlocked your phone and searched up the instrumental of ‘like that’ by ‘doja cat’ which was one of your favorite things to play on the electric guitar.

you put the guitar over your head and adjusted it a little then pressed play and tried your best to stay on beat with the instrumental.

he watched as your fingers glided across and moved from string to string with ease. he realized how calm you were while you were playing and decided to take a quick picture of you to save for memories.

you stopped a bit later into the song than expected since you didn’t know the rest of it and paused the instrumental playing on your phone.

“well what do you think?” you shyly asked as you set your guitar down on your bed. miles stood up and walked up to you and wrapped his hands around your waist.

Ryan Murphys Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Mendez story is just another blatant showcase of nexflix trivalizing and sensationalizing a real story of murder and sex abuse for profit.

The way the show sexualizes these men (in very incesty ways) is the first fucking red flag. Continuing the gross trend of sexy killers, they are not heartthrobs or tragic anti-heroes of fiction, they are real men who shot and killed their Father Jose and mother Kitty Menendez who were abusing them throughout their childood. The second flag is the strange choice to portray Erik Menedez as a homosexual despite that having no basis in reality. A choice that is even more glaring considering what the real Erik Menedez suffered at the hands of his father- it harkens back to disgusting homophobic tropes about sexual abuse and homosexuaity. A trope you'd think Ryan Murphy, A gay man himself would know to avoid.

Erik Menendez has publically come out agaisnt the show - In a statement given by Tammi Menendez , Erik's wife. "Murphy shapes his horrible narrative through vile and appalling character portrayals of Lyle and of me and disheartening slander,"  Erik adds "It is sad for me to know that Netflix's dishonest portrayal of the tragedies surrounding our crime have taken the painful truths several steps backward — back through time to an era when the prosecution built a narrative on a belief system that males were not sexually abused, and that males experienced rape trauma differently than women."

This hits on a darker and more twisted note, considering recently, as of 2023, a former member of Menudo (a popular boy band that was asscociated with Jose Menendez) Roy Rosselló, alleges that Jose Menendez had druged and SA'd him when he was a minor. This confession sheds new light on the Menendez case, given that at the time, the courts dismissed the menendez brothers claims of abuse.

In conculsion, I personally believe Ryan Murphy is trying to capitalize off of this and I think he should personally apologize to the Menendez family. Also he can fucking choke. Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus

Excerpts from Pages 31-34 of Memorandum of Points and Authorities. The New Evidence. In evaluating the prosecutor’s position that “the abuse never happened” and that Andy Cano was lying, jurors were unaware of a letter Erik wrote to Andy shortly after the holidays in 1988, and months before the August 1989 shootings. In that letter, Erik first describes a company holiday party held at the Menendez home for the holidays. He then turns to more personal matters, telling Andy that he (Erik) wished he could talk to his mother about “dad and I” but he could not “risk it” because she would just tell Jose: At times I wish I could talk to her [mom] about things you know? Some day. . . Especially dad and I but the way she worships him and tells him everything, I (sic) so afraid she’ll tell him whatever I say. I just can’t risk it. (Exhibit A.) Of course, this directly supports the defense theory that Jose had warned the boys that if they told anyone about the abuse, he (Jose) would kill them. (259 RT 43251.) But the letter goes on. Erik tells Andy that Jose is continuing to molest him:

This portion of the letter directly supports the defense theory that (1) sexual abuse had occurred, (2) the abuse was continuing as recently as a month before the shooting (3) Jose warned the boys not to divulge the molestation and (4) Erik was frightened as a result. In evaluating the prosecutor’s position that Jose Menendez was “not a violent and brutal man” and “not the kind of man” that would abuse children, jurors never heard from Roy Rossello. In 1983, when he was 13 years old, Mr. Rossello became a member of the Latin boy band Menudo. (Rossello Declaration at para. 1.) At the time, Jose Menendez, The letter is undated. Nor is there an envelope which has a post mark. But the letter can be dated by its contents in five ways: On page one of the letter Erik talks about a Christmas party held at the house for Jose Menendez’s business. That party was held in December 1988, eight months before the shooting. (Declaration of Robert Rand at para. 2-4, attached as Exhibit I.) On page three of the letter Erik talks about a “new [tennis] coach Mark.” At trial, prosecution witness Mark Heffernan testified that he was the tennis coach hired to coach Erik and Lyle in the fall of 1988. (229 RT 38064.) Also on page three of the letter, Erik writes that next year[]’s the important year” for Andy since “11th grade transcripts are what colleges look at.” This means that at the time the letter was written, Andy was in 10th grade. Andy Cano began 10th grade in the fall of 1988. (Erik Menendez Declaration at para. 7.) Erik writes on page three that he is looking forward to starting college “next year.” Erik Menendez’s senior year in high school was 1988-1989; he would be starting college in the fall of 1989. (Erik Menendez Declaration at para. 7.)Finally, Erik signs the letter “Merry Christmas.” Taken together, these references show that the letter was written (1) after the fall of 1988 (when Mark Heffernan was hired and the Menendez holiday party was held), (2) while a “Merry Christmas” greeting was still timely and (3) before the 1989-1990 school year began (Andy’s “important” 11th grade year and Erik’s freshman year at college). In short these references all point to the letter as being written around Christmas, 1988, eight months before the shooting. was an executive at RCA Records. (Id. at para. 3.) Jurors never knew that in the fall of 1984, when the group was appearing in New York, the group’s manager Edgardo Diaz asked Roy to “do a favor,” and instructed him to go downstairs at the hotel and join Jose Menendez in a limousine. (Rossello Declaration at para. 3.) Roy did so, and was taken to a home in New Jersey, given wine by Jose Menendez and anally raped. Roy lost consciousness and woke up back in his hotel. His was bleeding from the anus. (Rossello Declaration at para. 4-6.) Jurors never knew that Jose Menendez raped Rossello a second time in a New York City hotel. (Rossello Declaration at para. 8.) ARGUMENT I. BECAUSE THE NEW EVIDENCE -- IF CREDIBLE -- WOULD RESULT IN A DIFFERENT OUTCOME AT TRIAL, AN ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE SHOULD ISSUE. To warrant habeas corpus relief based on “new evidence,” a habeas petitioner must provide evidence “that is credible, material, presented without substantial delay, and of such decisive force and value that it would have more likely than not changed the outcome at trial.” (Pen. Code, § 1473, subd. (b)(3)(A).) “New evidence” is “evidence that has been discovered after trial, that could not have been discovered prior to trial by the exercise of due diligence, and is admissible . . . .” The new evidence has been described in detail above. Both pieces of new evidence went to the central factual question jurors were asked to resolve: did the sexual abuse occur? The letter to Andy Cano directly undercuts the state’s claim that there was no sexual abuse, and the testimony of Roy Rossello just as directly undercuts the state’s claim that Jose Menendez was neither a violent nor brutal man and was not the “kind of man” who would sexually abuse a child.

So before I saw the movie I felt pretty sick and thought I wasn’t gonna handle the popcorn but I managed!

Then of course I thought my parents were gonna be annoyed but I guess they weren’t, my mom liked it I’m not sure about my dad

When I saw Mount Rageous I can feel my blood running threw me and my palms were sweating!!!!!

I wished it had more screen time!!!!!!!

I see my relationship with my sister in Velvet and Veneer in a way- 🥲

Crimp crying is just me wanting to vent about me problems-

During the movie my mom said that Velvet and Veneer are like this old duo group called Millie and Vanillie

They were pretty famous I guess but they actually weren’t singing it was someone else, while Millie and Vanilli lip synced the person would sing behind the scenes

They were found being frauds live at a MTV concert back in July of somewhere in the 1980s

While they were singing the song skipped and they everyone saw them lip syncing and there whole careers were ruined

So possibly Velvet and Veneer are based of them?

Anyway, I loved the boyband references, and how some came out of nowhere, like when Bruce said Menudo I’m pretty sure that was a reference to the old Mexican boy band of the same name

I didn’t even think about that until my parents said that when we were out of theater

Overall, the whole movie was good but I felt like it went too fast but it was good, they were little childrens there but it’s a kids movie and they looked like they had a good time so ye!

and I started to recorded the last eight minutes of the movie cause I just wanted too!!!!

Bootleg of John Coltrane 4tet + Eric Dolphy in Copenhagen 1961

Without a doubt, saxophonist John Coltrane's band after he left trumpeter Miles Davis in 1960 is one of the defining groups of jazz, and for the year or so during which multi- instrumentalist Eric Dolphy joined Coltrane on reeds, the band became a phrenic and frenetic powerhouse that shook jazz to its core. Between Dolphy's piercingly distinct sound and Coltrane's newly developed interest in Eastern modalities, as well as the driving force of one of the all-time great rhythm sections—pianist McCoy Tyner, drummer Elvin Jones, and bassists Jimmy Garrison or Reggie Workman—this was a band to reckon with.

Recorded on November 20, 1961, mere weeks after the legendary Village Vanguard sessions that got critics' dander up, this album finds the quintet at the Falkonercenter in Copenhagen, playing the first part of a sold-out two act bill (the second act was trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie's band: what a concert!). Here, Workman is still holding down the bass chair, though Jimmy Garrison had likely won himself the spot for future iterations of the Coltrane band with his performance on "Chasin' The Trane" back in New York. Previously made available on vinyl, but only just released in a complete CD form with announcements by presenter Norman Granz, this is a must-have for Coltrane or Dolphy completists.

The album boasts two curiosities that distinguish it from all the other Coltrane recordings available in the marketplace. The first, a pair of rare false starts on "My Favorite Things," prompting an apology from the ever mild-mannered Coltrane to the audience, will likely only interest the true die-hard fan. But a version of Victor Young's beautiful "Delilah," purported to be the only version of the song that Coltrane or Dolphy ever recorded, is a deluxe addition to any fan's collection.

Without a doubt, this would have been an astonishing performance to witness. While Coltrane, Dolphy and McCoy are fantastic as always, part of the pleasure of hearing this band is in the seemingly telepathic give and take between all players. Hearing Coltrane's fire with only hints of the sparks that Elvin Jones is lighting behind him isn't the complete experience. That being said, it's still a lot better than most of what's out there.

-Both Came From A Musical Family: Joseph had his own band, The Falcons, while Katherine wanted to be a country singer. Plus, on Katherine's side, Michael's related to Stevie Wonder. Then there's Irene's family; her father, Gaspar, was said to have brought merengue to the States thanks to being a saxophonist. Not only that but (according to Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/6491165-Gaspar-Escalera ) he was also part of a record; Dioris Valladares's "Pa Bailar Na Ma". As for Irene's mother, Louise, she wanted to go into show business but her own parnets (Irene's grandparents) forbade it. Irene also had a brother who performed opera.

-Both Joseph And Gaspar Worked In Steel.

-Both families were of a struggling background.

-If Irene Really Was Born In 1959 (Her Birthday's Been Up For Debate Over The Years), She Would've Been 6 Months Younger Than Michael.

-They Were Child Prodigies: As small children, both Michael and Irene had showed their musical talents. Irene was able to play the piano by ear (like Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes did in her own childhood), went to classes for dancing and music. Meanwhile, Michael would show off his singing voice and join the Jackson 5 at around 5-6.

-The Wizard Of OZ: While Michael played The Scarecrow in "The Wiz" film adaption, Irene had played the role of Dorothy on the stage. Speaking of Diana Ross...

-A Connection To "Fame": While Irene's known as "Coco" from the original film, Michael's sister, Janet, was a part of the TV adaption, playing the character of Cleo.

-We Are The World/Cantare, Cantaras: When, in 1985, Michael was doing "We Are The World" with Diana, Stevie Wonder, Cyndi Lauper and other known singers for charity, the performers of Latin America wanted in too. So, gathering at the very same studio as "We Are The World", A&M, they performed the song, "Cantare, Cantaras" ("I Will Sing, You Will Sing"). Jose Feliciano, Julio Iglesias, Cheech Marin, Menudo, Ricardo Montalban, Pimpinela, and Yuri were among the singers for this. Along with Irene, of course. Just to be clear, both songs were in 1985.

-Both Fell Victim To The Media: With Irene fighting for her royalties that her record company had withheld from her, she was ultimately blacklisted. Lies had spread saying she was a drug-addicted (while Irene did do cocaine brought upon by her proucers to help with her energy, she did kick the habit) diva who was difficult to work with. Then there's Michael who had the worst slander done to him. With all of this along with their respective court cases, both had seemed more tired, world-weary and arguably reclusive. That said, they still didn't lose their love for music.

-Shared Interests: Charity work, Old Hollywood/Old Movies, drawing, swimming, and song-writing. They also had interests directing their own films and writing stories.

-Shared Personalities: Shy, reserved, kind, down-to-earth, spiritual, silly, independent, creative, hard-working/(arguably) workaholic, private, stubborn and (in TVTrope terms) "adorkable".

-They Were Included In The 1985 Documentary, "That's Dancing".

-Both Were Nominees In The 1984 Grammy's.

-Snow White: It's no secret that Snow White was one of MJ's favorite characters. He even had her an the 7 Dwarves visit him back in the 80's:

UGH!-6: But like … Did They Stutter?

Yet To Come - by BTS  [Proof]

[Music is a very big part of my life and I’m MOSTLY INCAPABLE of writing without music, so I just thought I'd share what I am listening to while writing this]

Given that even my coworkers, who generally REALLY DON’T CARE/KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BTS except for the ones who now have started listening to some of their songs thanks to yours truly, came to me saying “So. BTS. They are disbanding uh? …” the day after FESTA 2022 dinner, I’d say it wouldn’t be a gross generalization to assume that at least every ARMY, OT7, x/y/z-biased, solo, anti, shipper, whatever-you-prefer-to-be-called, saw FESTA 2022 dinner. Right? 

If you haven’t I’d highly recommend you to do so but as always you feel free to do you as the boys did explain everything that they could at the time, which is pretty much what is happening right now. They also made a couple of sentiments and statements clear, and I, for one, am writing this post even though I am painfully aware that the boys are never going to see it, yet I still wish to put out this message in the universe, maybe its energy will manifest and reach them somehow, as I would really like them not to think that we all have poor listening and reading comprehension. 

BTS’ CHAPTER 1: THE END OF AN ERA.

The Beatles. The Jackson 5. Menudo. New Edition. Backstreet Boys. One Direction.

According to the following Wiki definition this is what they all have in common:

A boy band is loosely defined as a vocal group consisting of young male singers, usually in their teenage years or in their twenties at the time of formation.[1] Generally, boy bands perform love songs marketed towards girls and young women. Many boy bands dance as well as sing, usually giving highly choreographed performances. South Korean boy bands usually also have designated rappers 🤡 LOL LOL LOL 🤡.

That being said, with hindsight, we can add/examine a couple of aspects, which have surfaced through the years and further represent boy bands. For example, the fact that at the very beginning boy bands were usually the union of a group of friends, or classmates, basically, people who already knew each other. Let’s fast forward a couple of decades, and we see that the music industry catches on to the fact that waiting for the next phenomenal boy band to magically appear is not sustainable and that is when they realise that they can actually make the groups themselves. So starts the scouting and the auditioning with the sole goal of slapping together supposedly talented boys who are complete strangers to one another, but who at the very least, have a desire to become rich and famous. “Win-win”. 

Moving on, around the same time, we'll have to leave the West and take a trip to East-Asia, where the boy band industry has had an even bigger eureka moment. What they’ve realized is that even though these boys may not have the affinity of a band of boys who already know each other, from a business point of view they can easily be molded into whatever it is on demand at the very moment, afterall, everybody loves a good story, and even better if it comes with a great soundtrack. So what better than creating a narrative for these boy bands, each member would have a role/character associated and fans can not only enjoy the music but also follow a sort of “storyline” as they watch for example the silent masculine strong member interact with the cute feminine talkative one. Even greater “win”, brr brr!.

Now, in an ideal world, all that reasoning would make sense and bring about endless profit, but we don’t live in such a place do we? The whole purpose of a business is to make money and if money is what you base your every decision on, sooner or later, you are bound to encounter problems that money can’t solve without changing things irreversibly and in most instances, for the worst. The thing about grouping ambitious strangers with the intent of becoming rich (usually more for the company) and famous (usually more for the artists) is that if you don’t have a common goal all you are essentially doing is building a glorified House of Cards. 

And don’t get me wrong, Longevity, is something that this type of companies, and the artists themselves, could only dream to achieve but never actually aim at. Nobody does, because it is very much a pipe dream type of thing. In fact, for the most part, the company's goal is it to at least have one amazing CD, make fans go crazy for a year or two, so that they can spend some money, and then if it doesn’t work anymore, the artist would hope to have garnered enough fame to allow them to start perhaps a solo career, or at least stay within the business, while the group inevitably disbands and the company moves on to the next group. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum. This has been the blueprint, and it was indeed the same blueprint used to form Bangtan Sonyeondan. 

It was the same blueprint, but Bang SiHyuk was a visionary that had goals of his own, with a knack for unusual experimentation 🤡. And exactly like a Mad Scientist, if you will, he played around with what he believed to be “slightly usual ingredients”. However, what he didn’t quite know at the time, was that these “ingredients” were actually very unusual. Some of the “ingredients” didn’t follow instructions, some very quickly dropped their assigned character, and some even had secret jobs but what they all had, and he probably didn’t account for or maybe he did, who knows right? was an extraordinary fighting spirit, which pulled up strong when it became clear that it was Bangtan vs the World. These boys had something to prove. They had somehow found their common goal.

As we all should know, early Bangtan, due to Big Hit's lack of reputation and funds, became the industry’s punching bag. This would have normally caused an “explosion in the lab”, instead, it created something new. The boys were fired up with this fiery will to fight back. They took the negativity and turned it into artistic fuel and did all of that while naturally learning about each other and consequently depending on each other solely. Somehow, these boys ended up actually liking each other. They kinda fought like members of a band made of family members, but had the passion of members of a band of strangers. They were an anomaly. 

An anomaly in a world that had rapidly become full of “anomalies”. Your everyday listener was, yes, looking for good music, yes, looking for something new and entertaining, but when they realised that they could also get someone who they could relate to; … 🤯🤯🤯. And so the “ingredients'' began to mutate. Along the way, they found their true calling, while adapting to their environment and understanding their receptors fandom, which also understood them in return, creating a never before seen bond, Tannies & ARMY, that brought them to where they are now; a world where THEY are the blueprint has anyone else noticed the number of boy/girl bands that got back together. 

These boys have created something unique. 

Something that other “Mad Scientists” have ever since been trying so hard to recreate in “their labs” and so far to no avail. This “something” is not only insanely lucrative, but also so emotionally rare, and has a chance at Longevity. These are boys who trust and genuinely love each other, but because they are also human, and have learned to be honest with themselves, they also know their limitations. And like they’ve always done, they sat down, exposed the problem, and tried to find a solution. And even though they didn’t have to, they also sat down with us, FESTA 2022 dinner, and quite clearly explained their solution. But, as always, the world managed to take their words and turn them into whatever sold better on the front page of the next morning paper we’ll get to that later on or/and whatever better fits their personal agendas. 

BTS’ CHAPTER 2: A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME, WITH AN UNLIMITED NUMBER OF POSSIBILITIES.

Have any of you experienced moments where you just wanted some time to yourself? Like, you love your friends, your family, your job, your everything, but at the same time, you are mentally exhausted and you need out for as long as you can afford? This is usually what most people use holidays for, you might be thinking. But the type of out I’m talking about is the kind where you want to be able to pause your present life, start another life for a while, and then go back to your past life kinda out. Basically, a “have your cake and eat it” type of out. 

That’s what I feel the boys are trying to experience and I ain’t mad at it, not one bit. Cause, let's be real, most of us regular people can’t really afford to even think of experiencing such a thing without MAJOR repercussions to our everyday life. But not only do I feel like they deserve it, but if it also allows them to reach their goals, and solve their problems, it would be like killing two birds with one stone. I mean, they really are not hurting anyone, by wanting to have a chance to experience life outside BTS other than those who are setting themselves up to be hurt that is 🤡.  

October 2022 rolled around and we got the following:

This theoretically gives a precise time frame to BTS’ CHAPTER 2. Let’s say that being back together means that they will physically be together and do a WLIVE on the 31st of December 2025, that means that, if we assume their serving period to be 18 months, the latest any member can enlist is the 30th of June 2024 (which I calculated considering the 30th of December 2025 being their last day). Obviously, I don’t know if their plan is to be together by the end of December 2025 and start working on a new album in 2026. Or be together say by August 2025 and ready for a tour in 2026 with a new album; only time can tell. But for the purpose of this post: BTS’ CHAPTER 2 began on the 15th of June 2022 and could end on the 31st of December 2025.

SO, that being said, a couple of things happened on the 15th of June 2022 that I would like to point out and a couple of things, define a couple of others, and I would like for people to remember one particular thing:

THINGS TO POINT OUT:

Some OT7 ARMY decided to dip and come back when BTS comes back to be 7, so after MS.

Other OT7 and/or x/y/z-biased ARMY decided to support each member’s solo endeavour.

Last but abso-fucking-lutely not least, SOLOS FINALLY GOT THEIR TIME TO SHINE AND PUSH THEIR AGENDA, along side antis.

THINGS TO DEFINE:

FAMILY BOY BAND MEMBER or FBBMs: Is what I will call boy bands with members that already knew each other, or were already related, etc etc etc.

STRANGERS BOY BAND MEMBERS or SBBMs: Is what I will call the type of bands that were put together through an audition, selection, etc etc etc.

ONE THING TO REMEMBER OR REALISE:

There was a point in time when BTS was seriously considered by NOBODY. Many knew about them, but still wanted nothing to do with them. Some that knew about them, went on and treated them like trash. Even though they had the talent, it took their fandom at the time to be persistent in order for people to give them a chance. In short, differently from many FBBMs and SBBMs who eventually ended up splitting up after reaching fame, BTS experienced having nobody but themselves and their label and fame came AFTER THAT. Because everyone was a nobody before becoming somebody, but how many were nobodies, who were constantly shoved down by semi-bodies and ignored by somebodies before they became THE BODIES themselves? So yeah, they may be smiling to people that harmed them in the past, and they might have decided to forgive and forget in other instances, but as real and intended as the experience they had were, you can bet that so are the choices that they make nowadays. A method to madness.

If you are a businessperson like yours truly, or have dealt with managing a business, you probably know that it is like in Love and War; all is fair. Obviously, this brings about injustice right away, but this is a known fact, no matter how clean you are, if you come and play in a muddy place, what do you think is gonna happen? Not to say that everyone is trying to get down and dirty, in fact, there are people that try their best to keep clean, but the reality of the fact is that you are still playing in mud. Yet, there is a difference between purposely trying to suffocate people in those muddy waters and trying to simply play by the rules, harm as less people as possible in the process and going home to live another day and start all over again the next day. 

Life is about balance, that’s why I like the color gray so much, it is the balance between black and white. And even though the Tannies are our beloved artists, it is important not to forget that in their own right they are also businessmen. I’m sure they want nothing else than to be there for ARMY always in theri best capacities, but this is not a charity, their lives, and the people who work for them, depend on the amount of money they make; this needs to not be forgotten. Now, how they make this money, all depends on the muddy field they play in, but from what I can see they really try their darn best to keep as clean as they can and harm as few people as humanly possible. 

ALL THAT to say that, when you experience having NOTHING with a group of PEOPLE, you will TREASURE THAT GROUP OF PEOPLE. Hence, ONCE AGAIN and it will not be the last time, I’ll keep hammering this, Chapter 2 wasn’t brought by for them to spread their wings and keep the fuck out, but as a means for them to have the experience they each want to have so that they can eventually be together again, healthily in order ot achieve Longevity which I will also get to towards the end of this post, don’t worry. And this brings me right to the current issues on the fandom-streets: FAVORITISM & SOLOS.

So at the moment “JUNGKOOK and his radio play” are the most recent subject. I will not go in depth, as I’ll be damned if I brought up all THE UNNECESSARY energy that has been riding with this valid topic. In fact, one thing that I found very helpful in understanding the radio play issue, was the following post by Ororo and Artiechikoo:

Now, once you’ve read that, you’ll understand that the ACTUAL ISSUE HERE IS: WHY DIDN’T HYBE SEND LIKE CRAZY TO BE PLAYED ON THE RADIO, and that ladies, gentlemen and distinguished enbies, is a legit ass question. However, none of the members have anything to do with ANY of that, or with anything related really. During Festa 2022 dinner, they all told us the order in which their albums were coming out, which would indicate that they all sat down months beforehand, and all discussed what they wanted to do during their chapter 2. I would also dare to say that they also all were responsible for their projects, promotions and every aspect of their chapter 2, but that is just me.

ANYWAYS, back to the Jimin radio play issue, which, once again, is A VALID TOPIC, that unfortunately is being muddied from all the shit that solos are bringing forth that has NOTHING to do with anything. Is like the story of the boy who cried wolf, when the actual wolf arrived, nobody was there to help. When you are still stuck on cakes, on accusing members of sabotage, or any moving thing at that, THE REAL PROBLEM WILL BE OVERLOOKED.

Also, just putting this out there, if you actually think that ANY OF THE MEMBERS is out there actively sabotaging other members, then rest assured that you are also stanning a phonie-ass person. If you took a second to check out every other member, for every member who is being sabotaged by members, there is a story about that same member sabotaging another member. MEANING that we would all be supporting a band of phonies, who wouldn’t think twice to backstab their band mates; ALL OF THEM. 

So when, for example, you are accusing JK of throwing JM under the bus, or in the mud, stop one second, breathe, and TRY to put yourself in JK’s shoes. Imagine for example, spending a whole day reacting to JM content, or even just the following:

And then, imagine not giving a fuck about him: HOW DOES THAT WORK EXACTLY? Yes we don’t like Scooter Braun, yes we don’t agree with MANY OTHER THINGS, but it is vital to know how to address the correct issue and not just burn EVERYTHING DOWN, or/and involve not concerned parties. So when for example, the company is to blame, then the fucking company is to blame only, and not everything you would like to blame along with it. 

I 👏🏾DO 👏🏾 NOT 👏🏾 CARE 👏🏾 FOR 👏🏾 SOLOS 👏🏾 IN  👏🏾ANY 👏🏾 WAY 👏🏾 OR 👏🏾 FORM 👏🏾. 

Not too long ago, I was making this example with someone who told me that there was maybe a valid reason for people to become solos, but to me it felt like people saying they had a valid reason for becoming Nazi; would I support a Nazi, no matter what reason? 🤡🤡🤡THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER WAY, and unfortunately, keep suffering for a while longer, is one of them 🤡🤡🤡Becoming a Nazi WILL NEVER BE THE ANSWER for me, in the same way in which BECOMING A SOLO WILL NEVER BE THE ANSWER. When you become a solo you actively decide to care fuck all about all the other members. Now the person you want to support, loves and wants to keep building something with the people you decide are expendable, so, once again: HOW DOES THAT WORK EXACTLY?  Being able to pinpoint the actual issue is hard, it is confusing, it is stressful, but it is essential, please please please understand that.

BTS’ CHAPTER 3: BTS IS ENDGAME. PERIOD.

… I mean, I really don’t want to sound like a broken record so let me allow them to say it:

ALL OF A SUDDEN, I have a feeling that Yoongi got a “matching tattoo with the rest of the rapline, so his tattoo is somewhere on one of his legs …These boys have spent YEARS OF THEIR LIFE fighting against all sorts of prejudice, hate, nonsense, and more. It used to be from those who never gave them a chase, but now it seems that the adversary-wave is coming from within the fandom. YEAH IT LOOKS BAD RIGHT ABOUT NOW. But let's emphasize the LOOKS part of that sentence, because Social media “ARMY” aren’t IT. 

When you spend too much time on any SM, it will feel like that’s what ARMY is ALL about but I can guarantee you that there are so many ARMY out there who don’t know or care about the noise and just mind their business and keep streaming and advocating for the right causes. There are ARMY who do their best to support the boys in the best way they can, even if they can’t afford to buy every single piece of merch. 

There are also ARMY who are waiting for the boys to come back and also those people who have no idea yet, but will suddenly become ARMY in 2026 when THE BIGGEST COMEBACK THIS PLANET WOULD HAVE EVER WITNESSED, will kick off after they announce their world tour. In conclusion, as always, DO AS YOU SEE FIT, but if you decide that, believing and following people who think that having the boys competing against each other for future solo supremacy is where it’s at, all I’d “cutely” have to say is that:

THEY DIDN’T STUTTER: OT7 IS ENDGAME.
