6. Attitude Toward the Qun

Setah and Mena both find it interesting. I think Setah was interested in the philosophy from Sten, while Mena was interested in the culture. Later, I think it mostly makes Mena sad, missing Sten, and wishing things were different.

Mariah actually is fascinated by the Qun and almost considered converting not because of their views on magic or other stuff, but the notion of purpose really appealed to her. I think she can’t wrap her head around most organizations in general, so she doesn’t end up converting, but she respects the Arishok but can’t abide anybody trying to conquer anything.

Sula has a complicated relationship to the Qun, but has never been a part of it. She was raised Vasoth, but most of her family escaped and she has lived with people with many different views on the Qun her whole life. Her family in particular is partially run by her grandmother who was a tamassran but rescued two mage girls and ran away and spent the rest of her life trying to find out who the Qunari were before the Qun, gathering history and artifacts and trying to rebuild an old faith from that (somewhat similar to the Old Gods). She keeps to that faith, but asks Iron Bull a lot about the Qun out of curiosity from all the things she’s learned before.

7. Most important person

Setah’s was Merrill, and then Morrigan.

Mena’s was Gorrim, and then Zevran and Sten, though she never went official with those romances.

Mariah’s is a complicated answer because I think she would say her family is her most important person, and she would say the whole Kirkwall crew is her family. That’s why it hurts so hard.

Thom and Jenny, their daughter, are Sula’s most important people.

9. Love Language

Setah’s is gift giving. She loves to make little things.

Mena’s is just chatting. She loves to to talk and listen both and could spend hours doing it with people she loves.

Mariah on the other hand loves to listen. Physical touch to, but her ideal way to show love is to hold you and listen to you.

Sula’s probably big into physical touch. I think her family is full of huggers and kissers and there’s lots of snuggling and cuddling!

15. Preferred weapon

Tagged by @midnight-octopus !! I don’t know if it’s just Dragon Age OCs or not but I tried to stick to my canon (ish) Dragon Age folks (although I have a lot more xD)

Setah Mahariel (she/her) my canon Warden, died at the final battle, and romanced Merrill and Morrigan. She was very young, very protective, and took up the mantle of leadership with a lot of youthful martyrdom. Despite that, she was a jokester, athletic, and wistful. There is a tendency of those who know her to romanticize her memory, but she was a person, stubborn and rarely listened to others advice.

Mena Aeducan (she/her) is the warden I actually played, so in Canon I have her as the Warden Commander in Awakening, and did travel a bit with the others but I am always iffy there. Political, manipulative, and scheming, but also lonely, romantic, and yearning, she is someone who threw herself fully into the work of being a Warden and making the Wardens (whether or not that was correct) a political powerhouse. In Game she romanced Gorrim and Zevran, but in her canon she was pretty hung up on Gorrim, and went through Sten, Zevran, her advisor in Awakening, and many other lovers, including an occasional Will they won’t they with noted author, Varric Tethras. She does not seem to be keen on settling down based on her actions, though she always says she wants to.

Mariah Hawke (she/her, but honestly is fine with anything), six feet tall, and an enormous presence, she was a once shining, bright flame, full of earnest kindness, single-minded bravery, and an awkward sense of humor and romanticism, now is a broken, wretched person, trying to rebuild themself and her family out of grief. A lot has happened to Mariah and she is not equipped properly to deal with anything healthily—but she is full of love. She and Fenris have twins together (on accident) and while she didn’t mean to leave him in the night with them to chase Corphyeus, she thought it was her responsibility. She considers Bethany, Fenris, her children (Malcolm and Elena), Merrill, Isabela, and Varric her immediate family, and would do anything for them. While Fenris is the love of her life, Varric is her soul mate. They three of them are very understanding of this dynamic, but as we near Dreadwolf, it’s Fenris’s turn to leave for heroics, and Mariah is the one who is left behind. She is not coping okay.

Horns aren’t possible in this 😭 but here is my Babygirl, my everything, Sula Adaar (she/her). A dreamer, a romantic, thrust into leadership and finding that she took to it naturally. Accidentally adept at the game, not a believer, but accepts that people want to see her as the Herald and embraces it (arguably too much), and wants to keep everyone safe so much that she takes far too much on her shoulders (the Well of Sorrows for one thing). Marries her beloved Thom Rainier, and in the eight years until Dreadwolf, has one Gwenyth “Jenny” Adaar-Rainier. Sometimes I like to play with her falling to the dark side with what I like to call Mythula.

Sula and Mena are really the only folks I’ve got with a penchant to get jealous (but Sula knows it’s irrational and usually feels bad–Mena is a little more self involved than that and has to be reminded that that’s an irrational behavior before she chills out)

While Tess and Hawke and Setah are just chill and maybe laugh about it, Dot actively insists people appreciate Reyes for all of his amazingness and becomes mad if they don’t appreciate him enough (“What do you mean you just don’t think he’s cute? There’s no one cuter in the whole galaxy except maybe Liam, but he’s a close second okay! YOU DONT THINK LIAM IS CUTE TOO DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT CUTE MEANS??")

5. Mena’s Guilty Pleasures

Um… Probably wine and hooking up with hot dudes. xD No, realistically, probably indulging in things that remind her of her life as a princess, like dressing up in gowns, fancy foods, wine, bossing people around. She misses it. xD Luckily being Warden Commander is similar to being a General of Orzammar’s armies so she doesn’t miss it too much.

12. Sula’s Grudges

She sort of has grudges on Hawke and Bull for their pro-Qunari and anti-Tal-Vasoth sentiments but that’s more like a beef that she confronted them about and at least in Bull’s case as seen in the game he comes around and grows to a better understanding (I think Hawke does too but later since there’s other bad things going on with her). Leliana has a grudge on Sula which I think on principle Sula returns, and that’s really the only major grudge I can think of for her. And that’s all political–Sula thought Leliana’s plans for change weren’t sustainable and that Leliana didn’t really have a plan and Leliana was like what the hell–again it works out and they work together fine but that one does sort of remain like a… wedge between them.

16. Dot’s Dark Secrets

She KNITS. Um, but really I think she acquires her darkest secrets in game, really. I think she wanted to save Sloane, but froze. She kinda is still dealing with that. She’s not as excited as she feels like she should be that her mom is still alive. She has to hold onto the secret of what happened in the Milky Way and can’t tell anyone as far as she is concerned. She’s done many questionable things that she feels like she should be more regretful of, but can’t bring herself to. She’s a little bundle of dark secrets right now. xD

Obscure asks: How do your characters handle being arrested by the city guard? Try to talk their way out, bribing the guards, planning a great escape, etc?

Mena would boss the shit out of them. She’d use her best princess voice and try to intimidate or persuade them to get out of prison–failing that, she’s owed Sten and Zevran favors before.

Setah would think she could somehow sneak away, but if they are city guard she’d have a much harder time of it than she would in the forest. Shenanigans would eventually devolve into a minor brawl and her sprinting away as fast as possible.

Mariah Hawke just winks at Aveline and is like “My best friend here is your commanding officer! I seriously would reconsider!” And if hey were not in Kirkwall, she’d try to explain herself and then fight them.

Sula would probably be panicking a bit. As a kid, she was able to run off quickly with her siblings. Now, she’d want to try and prove her innocence, not cause a scene, but also not get in trouble, and would likely end up rambling apologies in jail.

Fern would deck em and run.
