Peasants!

I hear people say this with a sneer.

When I think of peasants I think of people living on the land. Working. Having families. Creating wealth through careful planning and effort rather than through speculating in the work of others.

I, personally, never made much of a peasant. I tried. I married a woman of peasant stock. She is a nest builder. She has a work ethic like no other. Seriously. She was forced out through early retirement and is staying busier than she did when she went to the office every morning.

I, on the other hand am incredibly lazy. All I want to do is listen to suttas, meditate and write about whatever the hell is on my mind. I fnd mysef in need of money. My family wants me to write this damn book about “my journey” and they are willing to raise some money to help me write it. I wanted to write a book about the sangha that has grown up here on Tumblr not just on my blog as a as living organism of information.

A living meme. Memorganism if I may coin a term.

Anyway, apparently there is an office for me in my old building for me to use free of charge for life. It is just a room with a desk and a chair with a view of the foothills but I can use it to get out of the house and work on the book. They think focusing the book on me will sell better.

I hate work. No. I hate doing what other people tell me to do.
