happy birthday, namjoon ah.
a birthday fic for my main mans. aka: hyunjae struggles to find out a present for namjoon and ends up doing a character study on all her other friends instead.
Jung Hyunjae has an issue.
Kim Namjoon. Also known to Hyunjae as: Her Namjoon, her main man, her best friend, her current issue.
His birthday is in two weeks. And does not have a birthday present for him yet?? This is for two reasons: her busy schedule and her intrinsic flaws as a person.
Because she wants to pick something that he would appreciate and would be useful. But it is hard to pick something useful when Namjoon is a part of a boy band that has an estimated net worth of 60 million USD as of 2020- according to google. A second google search for individual net worth tells her that Namjoon is worth 15 million on his own- which- yeah.
Anything he could want, he could afford to buy himself.
Which is why she is struggling so hard to pick something. She tried to ask if he has an Amazon wishlist (he doesn’t), checked his Good Reads list to see if there are any books he wants (all of the wants he has bookmarked aren’t even out yet wtf), and looked into sound equipment (but he probably has top of the line shit already).
So yeah. Hyunjae has an issue. She needs some help.
The only option is to turn towards inside sources.
The countdown for answers begin.

It was so much easier to see her unnies back in the day, seeing as how they shared a dorm together. Now that Yeongwon is pretty fucking close to hitting their 10th anniversary, it makes sense that housing arrangements have changed since then.
Nowadays, when Hyunjae wants to see her unnies and there are no schedules, she has to drive to their houses. The audac- just kidding. It’s nothing bad, it’s just different from where they started. And it is how it should be, especially as they are reasonably successful veteran idols at this point who are...well...older now. Sometimes though, on the days where it seems like she hasn’t seen her girls in a while, she finds herself feeling nostalgic about the past.
But it’s all for the best. They are older and the longer they stay in this industry, the more precious privacy gets.
Once she pulls up to Saehyun’s apartment, she greets the security guard with a wave, and maneuvers until she is at the desired door. Hyunjae lets herself in (because they all have keys to each others’ residences, okay?), she notices a pair of shoes in the rack that clearly do not belong to Saehyun. Probably because they look like they’re a pair of Mens’ 9-9.5 sneakers.
The only reason Hyunjae isn’t scared that she is possibly walking into something she won’t be able to unsee is because she did have the decency to say she is coming over.
“Saehyun unnie!” She calls out. A beat later. “Seokjin oppa!”
“In here!” they chorus together, like the disgustingly sweet couple they are. They are in the kitchen. Seokjin looks completely at home as they make dinner. Seokjin is standing next to the sink with a fish and a sharp knife (sashimi, she thinks). Saehyun is working on a noodle soup dish (seolleongtang, maybe) on the opposite counter.
Hyunjae is pretty sure Seokjin has his own apartment, on top of the dorm that the Bangtan boys still use communally. She says “pretty sure” because even though she went to the house warming for the said apartment, he never seems to actually be there during Bangtan’s downtime- instead choosing to be at Saehyun’s instead.
They’ve only been together for a little over six months but they’re so domestic it hurts. Honestly, the speed in which their relationship is progressing to domesticity could be terrifying, but it’s not. It just works, somehow. She thinks about how Seokjin looks comfortable next to Saehyun. She thinks about how Saehyun essentially took 8 years to come to the conclusion that- yes, Seokjin is an option for her. A good option, at that. Granted, they’ve both dated other people throughout the years that their respective groups have been affiliated with each other. And it’s not like Seokjin has been interested in Saehyun for the last 8 years or anything, but it’s nice thinking about how they have fallen together in this period of their lives. All it really took was Seokjin asking Saehyun, “Hey, what do you think about me?”- and the rest was history. In the whirlwind life that Seokjin is living now, Saehyun acts like an anchor. She is a place to come home to. And that’s all the information Seokjin needed to confirm that, yes, he was going to date the fuck out of Han Saehyun.
Yup. That is exactly what he did, Hyunjae thinks. Aggressively pursued her. The whole ~ wine, dine, sixty-
Nope. Hyunjae stops that thought immediately.
Instead, she thinks about one of her favorite moments that she had been blessed to witness between these two people.
Saehyun had casually been brushing off just how pretty Mr. Worldwide Handsome was- and then Seokjin had appeared with his combed off to the side, exposing his forehead.
Once she saw him, Saehyun almost walked into a wall. The power that forehead holds, to be able to make Saehyun almost injure her own.
Beautiful.
Hyunjae moves on autopilot, greeting Saehyun with a kiss on the cheek and waving at Seokjin. After pleasantries are exchanged, Seokjin asks, “What brings you here?” like it’s his own apartment. Amazing.
Hyunjae takes a seat near the two chefs. “What are you getting Namjoon for his birthday?” She asks. The question is obviously more directed towards Seokjin, who tuts at her like she is a cute little fool.
“The same thing I get him every year- the newest phone that comes out in September.”
Okay, Hyunjae knew that. She pouts at the answer anyway. In the stress of trying to find an appropriate present though, it slipped her mind. Maybe she is just a cute little fool.
Namjoon isn’t going to use two phones, so Hyunjae can’t piggyback off of Seokjin’s idea. So, this is a bust.
“Does that mean you’re going to get Hannie unnie an upgrade of whatever you got for her this year on her next birthday?” Hyunjae asks. That seems to be Seokjin’s running theme.
Seokjin looks to Saehyun if a stare could be described as melty- gooey- liquid affection-? Whatever it is, Seokjin is doing it. “Saehyun can have whatever she wants.”
And now they’re making eyes at each other. Saehyun is blushing.
Gross. Cute, but gross.
But at least she gets a really nice dinner for coming by and some quality time with Saehyun and Seokjin (before Seokjin shoos Hyunjae away so that he can show Saehyun all the other options that fall under ~whatever she wants~).

“Hobi!” This is a greeting normally said with lots of excitement, because how to not call out to her other 94-liner who is sunshine personified with cheer? She sneaks into Hoseok’s studio space to see Hoseok swivel around in his chair, putting a finger on his lips to signify that she should be quiet. Hyunjae is about to ask why when she sees Sanghee sleeping on the couch, swaddled in blankets.
Oh. Okay.
The couch is right next to where Hoseok is situated in front of his sound system. Like, not even touching a wall. This should not be wear a couch is? But okay.
Sanghee had been in Paris for some fashion show for the past two weeks. She was both a designer and a model for this particular show. This was only possible because she is a beautiful and talented b and anyone would be honored for her to grace their show.
According to the group chat, Sanghee flew back to Korea last night. It looks like she went to see Hoseok as fast as she could and ended up falling asleep on the couch. Something about this whole scene warms Hyunjae’s heart.
They’re not dating yet, technically, because Sanghee is still taking some time for herself. She’s not quite sure if she wants to jump into another relationship right away. She deserves that time to herself, to be honest. Sanghee likes Hoseok- how can she not? She’s just still healing from Tao.
So no, they’re not dating yet-
But they will be. They fucking will be.
Because Hoseok looks at her like he doesn’t see anyone else, like no one else can even enter his worldview. Quite frankly, it is intense. But Jung Hoseok is an intense person who lives hard and works hard and loves hard.
Luckily, Kim Sanghee is also the type to love really, really hard. Once she decides to love you.
Sometimes, when they’re having a house party or a hang out and there is alcohol in everyone’s system, it is hard for Hyunjae not to notice how Hoseok looks at Sanghee. Like he’s content to just be beside her. Just last month, there was a moment between them that made Hyunjae go, “huh.”
Sanghee had made a joke- and laughed about it a lot. Like, full on, deadass laughter. And Hoseok normally laughs at everything. But in this moment where Sanghee looked so happy and carefree, clutching her stomach from her own goddamn hilarity, Hoseok isn’t laughing. Instead, his expression is soft and open and gentle as he watches her.
It’s like the alcohol had lowered his inhibitions and he put into plain sight who he sees in his future.
And at the moment, Sanghee is trying to be cautious because she has been hurt before- god has she been hurt before- but she knows that Hoseok would be good for her. She knows that they would be good for each other. They get along and they laugh a lot and have similar values and there’s this weird tension whenever they look at each other too long.
Also, if this is not indicative enough- when Sanghee came back to Korea, the first person she wanted to see was Hoseok. And she is currently asleep on his couch, wrapped up in his blanket. So, I mean? Hyunjae isn't a psychic or anything, but??
“What should I get Namjoon for his birthday?” Hyunjae ends up whispering to not disturb Hoseok’s sleeping beauty. Sanghee looks so tired and small and cute. Hyunjae wants to pet her.
“You came all the way here just for that?” He whispers back, grinning. “You never try this hard for my birthday. I call favoritism,” he snarks. His tone is still quiet and low. There is still his trademark brightness in his voice though.
Hyunjae only scoffs- as quietly as she can- because yes. Everyone is aware of who her favorite friend in Bangtan is. “Seokjin oppa said he’s already buying him a phone. Should I buy him a computer?”
Hoseok taps his chin thoughtfully. “I think Namjoon already bought himself a gaming laptop.” That fucker. Doesn’t Namjoon know that you’re not supposed to buy yourself anything that could potentially be a birthday present when it’s birthday time?
“What a bastard,” Hyunjae breathes out. Well, time to scrap that idea. “What did you get him then?”
“A subscription box for those high end clothes he likes,” Hoseok shrugged.
Damn that’s a really good idea. Why didn’t Hyunjae think of that?
Okay. Well.
When Hyunjae is exiting the studio door, she turns so that she can call out once last goodbye. She sees that Hoseok has already turned back to his sound table, with one hand stretched out towards Sanghee. His fingers are gently threading through her hair, staring straight in front of him. When Hyunjae turns her gaze towards Sanghee- her eyes are closed but she is unmistakably smiling.
Ha.

Okay well she has one week left now and at this point she is just getting (more?) desperate.
So she reaches out to Jeon Jungkook, her fellow maknae.
As she is crafting her delicately word text message to Jungkook (which reads: hey what did you get namjoon and can i steal your idea) Hyunjae finds it really funny that most of her current social circle involves Bangtan boys because all of the girls (and herself, included) are ~into~ a Bangtan boy.
Hyunjae likes to make herself laugh by saying that they’re all Bulletproof boys until they simp over her unnies.
Jungkook included.
He may be famous for being ice cold and unaffected around pretty women- but it hits different when it’s Yeongwon.
Maybe it’s because Yeongwon has been around since debut, but they all knew Jungkook before he learned that he was hot shit. (Sanghee joins them in this two years later.)
They met him as a teenager, when he was all awkward and not quite confident yet and blushed whenever Hyorin looked at him for a little too long. He used to blush whenever Aejung complimented his dancing too.
And one time, he tripped in the waiting room while they were monitoring Yeongwon on one of the TV screens. Saehyun had done one of her winky things that she likes to do when it’s her turn to be the ending fairy. Jungkook nearly ended up sprawled on the floor. Namjoon had told this to Hyunjae after the fact, since they were on stage performing, but it was still hilarious to hear about.)
Ah, so cute. Hyunjae misses those days.
Haegeul has long since announced that they should leave those EXO boys alone- so now, almost collectively, albeit at different times, they’re into BTS. The jury is still out on whether Haegeul thinks this is an improvement or not.
Jungkook takes five whole minutes to text her back.
He got Namjoon a really vintage record and an equally vintage record player for all of Namjoon’s vintage needs.
And he tells her a firm no, she can’t steal his idea.
What a sad day.

Hyunjae likes Taehyung. He’s cute and funny and bright and makes her Aejung unnie laugh. Taehyung, with his deep voice and sincere smile and easy going nature.
When Aejung first tells her that she is interested in Taehyung, the first reaction is to think “okay, makes sense”- and not just because Taehyung is a beautiful bastard. Undoubtedly, he is. But more than that, Hyunjae thinks she likes him because he is equal parts charming and awkward and kind- these are all aspects of his personality that make Aejung swoon.
But the kindness- this is what Hyunjae focuses on.
Because Lee Aejung deserves only nice things.
So yes. It’s nice when Taehyung acts as an energizer for Aejung, ready to act cute or make a joke at the drop of a hat when it looks like Aejung is really in need of something that makes her happy.
It’s also nice when Taehyung makes her slow down. When Taehyung makes her think about her own health. When Taehyung makes her realize that she has been going at full speed for the past 32 hours and- hey, doesn’t a nap sound really good right now?
It’s even nicer when he looks after her when they’re on drama sets together. He makes sure she has eaten and stays hydrated and runs over lines with her in their down time. Also, it is super nice when Taehyung sends Hyunjae cute sneaky photos that he takes of Aejung when she is in her acting element. This part, she really likes.
Hyunjae has always worried about who takes care of Aejung when Aejung is busy taking care of everyone else. Hyunjae gets extra worried during filming times, because Aejung will run her body to the ground to get the best version of any scene she is a part of. So when Aejung goes somewhere that Hyunjae can’t follow, she really appreciates that someone is looking out for her unnie. She appreciates it so much that it makes Hyunjae want to affectionately call Taehyung ‘Taetae’ and buy him whatever he wants, like a true noona.
Currently- well, Hyunjae is not sure where they are yet. Aejung has made her romantic interest towards Taehyung known only recently. But like, to her girls.
To Taehyung, not yet.
Because Taehyung makes Aejung a shy mess and honestly- it’s fucking adorable.
But there’s hope, she thinks. Yoongi has told her, on more occasions than one, that Taehyung likes talking a lot about the people/things that he likes. And apparently, he will not shut up about Lee Aejung. In what capacity and depth, Taehyung has yet to disclose to Yoongi (and, by extension, Hyunjae).
Hyunjae is hopeful though. So far, all signs are pointing to good things.
It is not her place to ask Taehyung about what he feels for Aejung. Hyunjae is undeniably curious if Taehyung even knows that Aejung is interested. Is he picking up what she is putting down? No one knows. Aejung’s not ready to find out.
So, yeah. Not her place to ask. What is her place to ask about, however, is what he has prepared for Namjoon’s birthday.
She FaceTime’s Taehyung when she has five days left to get her shit together. She greets him and then he greets her and then she wastes no time in asking, “What did you do for Namjoon’s birthday?”
Taehyung is quick to do a humble brag. He shows her an intricately made photo album that looks like a collage of Namjoon’s finest moments. Pages worth of pictures from award shows, performances, Namjoon as an underground rapper, Namjoon with his dimple on full display, Namjoon with the people he cares about (his family, his bandmates, his friends).
It’s aesthetic as fuck. Hyunjae can tell that a lot of time and effort went into that thing. Where Taehyung found the time, she has no idea. “You made him a whole photo album?” He proudly shows her a couple more pages and Hyunjae frowns on principle. “Not everyone is talented like you, Taehyung ah,” she complains. Taehyung blushes a little at the praise and Hyunjae can feel the nervous energy through her iPhone.
“Do you think he’ll like it?”
Hyunjae’s frown softens and turns into a smile instead. She really does like Taehyung. “It is beautiful and he will love it,” she promises. She talks to Taehyung a little more and ~accidentally~ shows Taehyung all the nice pictures of her Aejung unnie last week. He showed her nice pictures, so in return, she showed him nice pictures! This is the explanation she is going to give her unnie.
(When Taehyung compliments Aejung the next day on how great she looked in those pictures from the mountains, Hyunjae later gets a call from Aejung. Aejung is whispering, like she ducked away and hid somewhere so she could, in a very panicky scolding unnie to dongsaeng tone, ask her what did you do? - because that trip to the mountains was a JaeJung adventure. Hyunjae can tell just from the tone of Aejung’s voice that her unnie blushing. Cute.)
Well, Hyunjae can’t do anything on that scale of Taehyung’s present, but this does give her an idea.

Hyorin and Jimin’s dynamic is interesting.
This may be because Hyorin has kept her “dongsaeng killer” title true since Day One, but- like- lets just say Hyunjae is the most cautious of coming over to Hyorin’s apartment, lest she see something that will change how she looks at Jimin forever. Hyorin mentioned once that Jimin is really cute when he cries, which is fine, but there was something about her tone that made Hyunjae not ask any follow up questions.
But yeah. They’ve been ~a thing~ for a very, very long time. Close to four years, maybe? Five? Bangtan debuted 8 years ago, but they’ve been on and off though, so Hyunjae's not sure that even they know how long they’ve been ~a thing~.
When Bangtan had first debuted, Hyorin took one look at Jimin and decided- yes.
And really, that is all it took.
Well, that. And for Jimin to be an adult by both Korean and international standards.
Granted, there was some initial trepidation on both sides. Jimin is six years younger than Hyorin, after all. But Hyorin decided that she liked Jimin enough to look past that and Jimin decided that he wanted to follow Hyorin for however long she would let him.
There is something about Hyorin that makes Jimin ready to risk it all. Hyunjae knows this because Jimin has said this out loud. Repeatedly. To anyone who knows about them, really.
But also. Jimin is sweet as fuck. Just. Caring and thoughtful and ready to hype up Hyorin on her celebratory days and to fight anyone on the bad ones. It’s cute how much he champions her. Hyorin doesn’t need anyone to fight her battles, but it is cute how much Jimin would be willing to. Over the years, Jimin has proven himself as the person who will send Hyorin flowers on random days because he can. He’ll call her to tell her a particularly funny joke because he’s constantly thinking about her. One time, he hunted for a shiny Pokemon for three days because Hyorin mentioned in passing that she wanted this particular one.
Listen. Park Jimin was a simp for Park Hyorin before the word was even added to the Urban Dictionary.
For the longest time, they were dating, even if there has never been a conversation about an official status. This was possible because they knew that they liked each other. They knew that they would put in the work to make it work.
Their dynamic has changed in the last year and a half. Their young infatuation with one another had turned into something more mature.
Hyorin’s love for Jimin wasn’t instantaneous. She didn’t wake up one morning and decide that she was in love with him. Instead, it was gradual. She took her time to come to the realization that Park Jimin is her person. And she wanted that official title, even if netizens would destroy her if it was revealed that she was dating someone six years her junior.
Jimin was quick to agree, because let's face it, he has wanted that for years. But he never wanted to push her. Was just happy to be allowed in her orbit. Just wanted to be able to take care of her, for as long as she wanted him to.
And now, here they are. Realistically, if they keep going how they are, that day will come eventually. But for now, they are happy with their little secret.
Anyway, suspicious kinks aside, Hyunjae is just happy that Hyorin is happy. With Jimin, Hyorin is choosing to be happy. Choosing someone who she loves and who will love her.
It’s cute. All her unnies and their boys are cute.
At this point, Hyunjae has figured out what she is doing to do for Namjoon. She’s just asking to ask.
Hyorin is sitting on the couch playing World of Warcraft, her newest gaming obsession.
“Jimin ah,” she calls out to the younger boy who is sprawled on the living room floor of Hyorin’s condo. (More precisely, he’s sprawled on the living room floor of Hyorin’s condo at her feet.) Hyunjae does not ask if the floor is comfortable. Instead, she asks Jimin what she has been asking everyone. “What did you get Namjoon?”
Jimin looks up at her and smiles brightly. “I got him speakers and that fancy bag he wanted.” Oh the bag that was like 20k?
Solid choice, Park Jimin.
Next!

Namjoon may be Hyunjae’s main man, but she calls him this in a very platonic way. This is not to be confused with when she calls Yoongi her man.
Now, Yoongi. Min Yoongi is her man in a decidedly not very platonic way. No. Opposite of platonic. Bring on the romance. Give her the handholding and the long hugs and the cuddles and kisses. She wants the dates and the anniversaries and the potential vacations together. Hyunjae wants all of that with Yoongi.
She just never says any of that out loud because- one, that’s embarrassing. She used to be called an ice princess. What the fuck has happened to her? And two- she’s not completely sure how Yoongi would react to all of that. They’ve only been dating for nine months so? All of those thoughts need to shut the fuck up and stay quiet until she gets some kind of confirmation that he sees a long term future with her.
The only reason Hyunjae did not immediately harass Yoongi for an answer about what to get Namjoon for his birthday is because he is a sentimental gremlin and would just tell her something like “he would appreciate anything you get for him” and not provide anything else. Which- cute, but not helpful.
“Yoongi ah,” she greets. She should be calling him oppa, but the affectionate endearment slips from her sometimes, especially when she is being whiny. She started calling him “Yoongi ah” because of the “Just One Day” MV and has not been able to stop since. Yoongi doesn’t particularly care for honorifics anyway, which she is grateful for.
How would Hyunjae describe her relationship with Yoongi?
She would be lying if Hyunjae said she wasn’t interested in Yoongi the day she met him. He was (and is) talented and confident and a badass. Yoongi lives his life by giving zero fucks and it shows. And yet- he had an unapproachable image, but he turned out to be so, so, so soft. He is patient with his dongsaengs and he’s not afraid to make a fool of himself for a laugh and he cooks for them to show that he cares. Min Yoongi is a good person. Hyunjae knew this then and she knows this now.
But she met him when she was barely 19. At that age, interest comes and goes like smoke.
It is not until years later that Hyunjae’s interest in Yoongi resurfaces. He has always been around. Her best friend is Namjoon, so obviously she has been around his bandmates.
One day, about 10 months ago, Hyunjae’s attraction to Yoongi just switches on and she doesn’t know if there is an off option. She is slightly suspicious that Yoongi has destroyed the off option.
Currently, Yoongi is on his bed, enjoying his favorite past time- lying on his bed and not moving. They’re in Yoongi’s apartment and it is quiet and peaceful and nice. Hyunjae joins him on the bed, snuggling him. He lets her. “I’ve been stressing out so hard about Namjoon’s birthday present, I just want to shove it at him,” she grumbles.
“I’m sure he would appreciate anything you would get him,” he mumbles, sleepy. How did she know that he would say that? Hyunjae is almost obscenely proud of how well she knows Yoongi.
“Okay, well what did you get him?” she prods, poking his cheek.
Yoongi pauses. Barely twitches. And then says, “I wrote him a song.”
Damn all these talented fuckers. First Taehyung with the aesthetic as hell photographs and then Yoongi with a whole ass song. But Hyunjae did say Yoongi is a sentimental gremlin, so this tracks. “Which one?” she asks, curious and supportive. Yoongi produces bangers. Confirmed.
There’s a hint of a smirk on Yoongi’s face when he says, “You should know it. We provided the guiding vocals for it.” Hyunjae is initially distracted by Yoongi’s face- ugh he’s so hot- but eventually, she processes what he says. Guiding vocals?
Hyunjae recalls a vague memory of helping Yoongi record a month ago because he was just testing a song out. He said he needed a female rapper and someone cancelled or something? And the female part of the song happened to be written in her key and register??
Oh my god.
She gapes. “You sneaky fuck!” Now he’s definitely smirking. Hyunjae would be more upset at being tricked if she wasn’t currently overwhelmed by the need to kiss that smirk of Yoongi’s face.
D-2. (<-- also the title of his second mixtape!!! My talented boy!!!! We stan!!!!!!)
-
There is a reason why Hyunjae calls Namjoon her main man. This is her chingu that acts like her ride or die. The one that matches his hair color to hers when it is comeback time. The one that calls her Baby Jae and dotes on her and is always willing to give her a shoulder to cry on.
This is the thing with Namjoon. He’s smart- absolutely brilliant. Hyunjae may call him a dumbass sometimes, but the world knows that he is not. He’s a wonderful leader and he’s beautifully articulate and he’s good at his fucking job. He takes care of his boys and he takes care of his fans and he takes care of his friends too. Actually. Does she count as one of his boys? She is an honorary bro, right?
Anyway.
Hyunjae is honored to be a part of his circle. And she does not think she is being too biased by saying that he deserves the world.
She is being sappy. She knows. But she thinks she is allowed today. She is doubly allowed to run to him the moment she sees him, almost tackling him to the ground at his own party- which she does. Yoongi is behind her and she can hear him laughing at the whole scene and today is a good day.
“Happy birthday to my main man!!”
Namjoon laughs, dimples and all. Hyunjae shoves her present at him before he can even say thank you. “Present for you! On your day of birth! You’re welcome!”
He laughs again and finally gets to say, “Thank you, Baby Jae.”
She beams at him and runs off before he can check what she gave him. As she runs away, she screams, “Happy birthday!” again and frolics off to find her unnies.
This is what Hyunjae ended up coming up with:
There is a journal on the bag. Inside the cover, a note that says: You are allowed to pick our hair color for the next comeback.
It’s a bullet journal. Hand decorated, a la Jung Hyunjae. Filled to the brim with sticky notes. There are important reminders to dates and holidays, encouraging messages, nostalgic memories.
She can’t take artistic pictures like Taehyung or write lyrics like Yoongi, but on most days, Hyunjae does know how to sentence.
So she writes a lot of fucking sentences.
Any single thing that she can remember about Namjoon, she puts it in that book.
Across the whole journal, she writes about how much she adores him, how she knows how hard he works, how proud she is of him, how she is sure that he is destined for great things.
Essentially, it is a whole lot of feelings.
(But, you know, if he didn’t like it- she also included the whole manga collection set from his favorite mangaka.)
Happy birthday, Kim Namjoon!

The Fan (Chapter 7)
Warnings - Talks about hate comments and death threats, Slut shaming, mentions of dead animals, this is when the story starts to get really dark, please be careful and read at your own discretion . I’d rather have my blog 18+, but I know I can’t stop anyone from reading.
More trouble for the girl group, Bloom!
The TV hosts cheerfully announced, screenshots of Y/N and Hongjoong in his bed, photos of Aya at a bar, a drink in one hand and grinding on a random guy, Chinsun and Yunhee coming out of another company behind both of them
I’m your host Yoo Yunha.
And I’m Kim Hyunlee
And today on Koreaboo TV, we’re going to be talking about the once-great girl group who was said to be Itzy’s rivals. The newest scandal for this unlucky group is a sex tape between Bloom’s Y/N and Hongjoong, the nephew of their manager, Jieun.
Y/N have sat in front of the TV, sobbing. The news had been attacking the entire group so much, that Aya, Sanghee and Yunhee have been moved to Jieun’s house while Chinsun and Y/N stayed with Haeun and Hongjoong. Y/N’s phone kept vibrating, all of the tweets that the Bloom Twitter have been tagged in causing the commotion.
Fans have started trending the hashtag #WhereIsYunhee because she seems to be the only one who has stayed away from any of the drama, but Thorns, Bloom antifans, are getting ready for the youngest member to screw up.
You’d think the company would be smart and just disband the girls, but I suspect there’s going to be a new member added or if they do disband, one of the members will go solo.
I have my money on Y/N. She seems like she has no regard for anyone else but herself. I mean a sex tape while your group is in the middle of a stalking scandal? What’s her excuse? Did she know she was being filmed? If she did, was she doing all of that on purpose to piss off her fans? I feel bad for that Milton boy who has been there for her since pre-debut and she repays him in dirt.
Y/N’s sobs were getting louder, alerting Chinsun who had been sitting at the top of the staircase, scrolling through Twitter and seeing all of the hate comments and death threats directed to Y/N.
And if you’ve seen the tape, you’ll know that she was just using him. She had no emotion or feelings in it. How would you feel if you slept with someone who had no feelings for you and was just using you as a dildo?
I’d feel pretty bad. And apparently Y/N’s fansites are feeling bad as well, they’re closing by the hour, some expressing their disappointment for her while others have jumped ship to
“So, you’ve been fucking Hongjoong?” Walking into the room, Chinsun scolded Y/N, disappointment written in her body language, “are you the one who suggested we stay here just so you can get your rocks off?”
“Chinsun, no. It’s just something that happened that night,” Y/N stood up, her legs weak from sitting the whole day, “I was stressed and Hongjoong was there and it was his idea.”
“Y/N, the camera was on, how did you no-”
“How do we know that Milton didn’t hack the camera? I don’t know why everyone is going after me when that guy is so fucking creepy. Have you not seen the letters on his page? That’s not normal, Sunny.”
Chinsun saw the genuine emotion in Y/N’s eyes, pulling her member into her arms as Y/N begun to cry again. Hongjoong saw the event, a gray cloud of guilt hanging over his head, leaving to meet his friends.
A few moments later, Hongjoong met his friends outside the photo studio, people in hazmat pulling out three dead animals from the vents, San and Yunho furious at the past few days.
“Whoa, why are they here? And why does Yunho look like he’s about to snap someone’s neck?”
“Milton somehow got into the studio and hid dead animal carcasses in the air vents,” Seonghwa bit his tongue, taking photos of the incident, “We came in to edit some photos, maybe film a dance cover and the smell once we opened the door made us all gag. Yeosang actually went home because he felt so sick.”
“Milton sent me a letter saying shut down my fansites or he’ll start going after me. I’d rather give up photography than my life,” Yunho bit his cheek, “I want to meet that bastard and throw him into the ocean with a cinderblock attached to his ankles.”
“Whoa, dude, easy there.”
“No, Hongjoong, Yunho shouldn’t have to be ‘easy there.’ This fucker wants to act like a prick, fine. But now he’s trying to go after everyone and for what? What does he get out of this?” San snapped, his voice more aggressive than it’s ever been in the years Hongjoong has known him, “Hey Yunho, Seonghwa, let’s go to my house. Maybe we can edit photos there. We’ll see you later, Hong.”
Hongjoong watched the three boys leave, the hazmat people packing up and driving away. A smirk appeared on the boy’s face, pulling out a white jasmine from his bag, picking the petals as he walks home.
Getting home, Hongjoong walked into his room, Y/N asleep on the bed, her eyebags much more noticeable. He walked over to her, brushing the colored hair extensions out of her face. Gliding to the other side of the bed, Hongjoong took off his outerwear and pants, leaving him in a t-shirt and boxers as he spooned Y/N, the girl waking up with a gasp of air.
“Hongjoong?”
“Shh, yes. Just calm down, I got you.”
Y/N spun around, meeting Hongjoong nose to nose. He continued to stroke her hair, twirling it in his fingers. Y/N curled into his chest, crying as Chinsun walked in.
“Am I interrupting something?”
“No,” Hongjoong tried to hide the annoyance in his voice, “Y/N actually just woke up.”
“Give her a few minutes and tell her to get downstairs, she needs to eat. At least some crackers or some soup. Not eating isn’t good and she needs to keep up her strength for tomorrow.”
Hongjoong kissed Y/N’s cheek before standing in front of Chinsun, an oddly intimidating aura about him causing the idol to take a step back, “What’s tomorrow?”
“Jieun is taking Y/N to the police, see if they can figure out any sort of clues to who this Milton guy is,” Chinsun tilted her head, Hongjoong panicking and wondering if Chinsun knows, “They want Y/N since he seems the most interested in her. Your mom thinks it would be better if Y/N slept in the open guest room now.”
“I’ll let her know.”

if you love her
I hated and envied you, you looked good together
Who am I to be relieved?
I’m sorry I hate the person next to you
Because you look so happy beside him
TAO/HYORIN/YIXING
Tao wonders if he was always this bitter as a person, or if this ugly feeling only grew in him once Park Hyorin met Zhang Yixing. Some days, he thinks it’s only because of recent developments that have Hyorin head over heels in love with someone that will never be him. Other days, when he looks at Yixing’s face and sees that sweet dimpled smile, Tao can’t help but feel like he’s the scum of the earth for hating someone so gentle.
But as the situation stands, Tao doesn’t think he’s ever felt a jealousy so intense before this.
It’s like Yixing came out of nowhere, like Hyorin just one day woke up in love. And maybe she did- because Tao doesn’t know how to explain it, but one second Yixing is just there, and then the next- Then the next, he’s the greatest love of Park Hyorin’s life.
And while that is all well and good because Tao is Hyorin’s best friend and he is supposed to support her in everything, things aren’t actually all well and good because he’s Huang Zitao, who has always been a little in love with Park Hyorin.
A little meaning a lot, because he would like to downplay his soul crushing unrequited love as much as possible.
The worst part, Tao thinks, is that he thinks they look good together. He knows that they’re good for each other.
The best part, which is another tidbit that Tao is sure he knows, is that Hyorin is happy. He supposes that soothes the pain a little bit. And he’s sorry for hating Yixing, but that soothes a little bit of the pain too.
After all, who is he to get in the way of Park Hyorin’s happiness? And if her happiness means standing next to Yixing, so be it.
HYORIN/YIXING/AEJUNG
Hyorin, honest to god, hates feeling this way. She hates this bitter feeling that has nestled its way into her vulnerable heart, hates that some days she looks at Lee Aejung and feels nothing but self loathing. Some days, Hyorin wonders if she’ll ever get over this feeling. Other days, she really thinks she never will.
As things stand now, Hyorin is sitting on her bed in darkness, staring at the bed across from her own. “I’m sorry, Aejung ah,” she mumbles. The other girl is fast asleep and Hyorin thinks it is better that way. That way, Aejung doesn’t have to witness her sniffle. “I love you,” she adds.
Because she really does.
Even though Hyorin has never felt a jealousy so intense in her life. But she gets it. She loves Lee Aejung too, would even argue that she has loved Aejung much longer than Yixing has. And she understands why Yixing loves her so much.
They look good standing next to each other, Hyorin thinks. Yixing looks like he is absolutely glowing whenever he is next to Aejung. He looks so absolutely, blissfully in love, that Hyorin doesn’t think she’ll ever be able to say a word. Sometimes she dreams about it though. Dreams about being able to walk up to Yixing and sweetly say, “If you love her, it’s okay.” But for now, she’ll keep those words locked in her heart, where they belong.
The only shame in this is that Yixing feels like the greatest love of her life, while he has already found his own. And it is most certainly not her. But if he’s happy?
That’s all she needs.
Hyorin wonders when she grew up into this person.
She would love to thank Yixing for it.
If you love her, if you want her
More beautiful than flowers, you have to care for her more
If you love her, if you need her
Tell her without holding back
YIXING/AEJUNG/KRIS
Yixing is not one to get angry with his friends. He leaves the stern tones and scoldings to the members way more suited to it.
This isn’t to say that he doesn’t get angry.
Because darn him and everything else to hell if he never wanted to scold Wu Yifan more in his life.
“You need to love her better.” Yixing’s tone is scathing as he says this, the harsh tones of his mandarin grating just a little deeper.
Yifan sounds almost exasperated in response. “I know, okay? I get it.” Because even Yifan knows he hasn’t exactly been boyfriend of the year as of late.
They’re standing in a hallway at one of the Chinese music shows, reunited after a long while. And Yixing’s first order of business is to address the sadness in Lee Aejung’s eyes, the tiredness in her posture, how angry she looks when Yifan doesn’t pick up another one of her calls.
“No, you don’t,” Yixing continues in the same tone, almost like Yifan hadn’t spoken at all. He might as well not have. “Care for her more, tell her when you miss her, when you need her, when you love her.” Because Yixing would, if he could. “Don’t ignore her like this.”
Yifan has the absolute gall to shift on his heels, looking guilty. “I get it,” he says again, this time more subdued. In any other situation, Yifan probably would have gotten angry over someone reprimanding him about Aejung. But all of this, coming from Yixing-
All Yifan can do is accept it, really. Because Yifan knows that Yixing used to love her so much, might even still. Because Yifan knows that gentle hearted Yixing would never yell at him like this unless he deserved it. Because Yifan knows that despite everything, Yixing is still like a brother to him.
Because Yifan still remembers Yixing’s gentle acceptance of his own heartbreak, the way Yixing told him “it’s okay if you love her, she loves you too.”
“Ge,” Yixing says, almost pleading. The anger is fading away because in the end, that’s not who Yixing is. “If you love her so damn much, act like it.”
You’re so pretty it hurts, you’re so lovable
These feelings made me feel smaller
You became someone I cannot love
But you’re looking at me and smiling
LUHAN/SAEHYUN/JOONMYUN
Luhan finally understands what it means for looks to kill. He understands, because Han Saehyun is so pretty, it hurts. He thinks the pain could kill him, eventually.
Especially when she looks so sweet, so lovable, standing next to Joonmyun. She’s absolutely enamored by his angelic leader. Luhan sees it in the way she looks at Joonmyun, recognizes the spring in her step when they’re walking side by side.
Luhan wonders if maybe this is how he stops loving her. So that he can stop himself from dying a little inside each time he sees them together.
Because he can’t possibly love his dear friend’s girl, right? Literally the only person he loves as much as Han Saehyun is Joonmyun, EXO’s leader and guardian angel, so really- he can’t. Right? Especially because Joonmyun is Joonmyun- selfless, dorky, hardworking Joonmyun with enough love to keep eleven other boys in line.
And Han Saehyun is- she’s- Luhan has a hard time putting into words what he feels about Han Saehyun.
So Luhan supposes that like this, Han Saehyun becomes someone he cannot love.
Because the feelings he has for her honestly make him feel like- like a terrible person? Like a smaller man? Just- bad? Like he’s doing both Joonmyun and Saehyun an injustice, like he does not have the right to love her.
In theory, Luhan knows he cannot have her, cannot be with her, cannot love her. He knows all of these things.
But none of that knowledge stops him from wanting to be with her, wanting to love her. None of that stops Luhan from looking at Han Saehyun smile and think- well, this is it. He’s done for.
Like this, she’s so pretty it hurts.
And like this, Luhan wonders if the pain will one day kill him.
If you love her, if you want her
Hold her two hands
Don’t ever let go
If you love her, if you need her
Don’t give me a chance
BAEKHYUN/SANGHEE/TAO
Tao thinks that Baekhyun is tiny. Tiny and cute and adorable. Small enough to fit into his lap, affectionate enough to cuddle.
But right now, in the face of Baekhyun’s evident anger, he doesn’t seem like any of those things.
“Hyung,” Tao says, maybe to appease the fury on Baekhyun’s face.
But the older boy doesn’t seem to be having any of it. Baekhyun’s tone is fierce, protective, and above all else- hurt. “You better not let her go. Sanghee loves you so much.” Sanghee loves Tao too damn much for all of this- any of this, actually.
“Why would I even let her go?” Tao retorts, defensive. He doesn’t like how Baekhyun is coming at him. Tao also doesn’t like how he’s getting a scolding about his own girlfriend.
“You’re Sanghee’s boyfriend,” Baekhyun continues, while Tao wonders what he did to make his Baekhyun hyung’s normally soft features look so damn hard. “Not Hyorin noona’s.”
Oh. Something shifts in the air as something else clicks in Tao’s head. “Why does everyone bring up Hyorin noona?” Tao still sounds defensive. This part of Tao, the part that always rises to protect Park Hyorin first, Baekhyun finds a little hateful. Baekhyun doesn’t even think Tao has realized that he chose to defend Park Hyorin before defending his honor as Kim Sanghee’s boyfriend.
“Think about it, Tao,” Baekhyun retorts. “Why does everyone still talk about you and Hyorin noona when it should be all about you and Sanghee?”
“Why do you care so much?” Tao responds bitingly, with no other defense. Tao always sounds petulant when he feels cornered. Baekhyun knows this about him, recognizes the tone, and has never hated it more.
Baekhyun’s thin lips purse in stern disapproval. “Why do I care? I’m her friend, in case you forgot.” But also, Baekhyun thinks, he could be more. Maybe.
“I know, hyung,” Tao mutters, his own mouth downturned in a sullen pout. “I’ll be better.”
“Don’t give me a chance to be better than you, Taozi,” Baekhyun says, the familiar nickname wrapped in a warning. “Because I’ll take it.”
“I heard that you’re a good friend”
When I heard that from him
It hurt so much
SEHUN/HYUNJAE/KYUNGSOO
When Hyunjae introduces Do Kyungsoo as her boyfriend, Sehun almost can’t believe it.
Standing in front of him is the guy who has stolen Jung Hyunjae away from him. Although- that’s not right. She was never Sehun’s to start with. Not like that.
Hyunjae presents him proudly, while Kyungsoo goes along with her goodnaturedly. Absentmindedly, Sehun thinks Kyungsoo is super short. But also a good height for Hyunjae.
Sehun moves on autopilot throughout the entire interaction, watches quietly as Kyungsoo stares at Hyunjae fondly, notes how Hyunjae grabs at Kyungsoo’s hands with practiced ease. He moves too well on autopilot, actually, that Sehun doesn’t realize Hyunjae is leaving for a quick moment to buy snacks until it’s too late.
Dumbfounded, Sehun is suddenly very aware that Hyunjae is trying to make him and her boyfriend bond.
“What,” he flubs. “Uhm.”
“I heard that you’re a good friend,” Kyungsoo says this idly, to make conversation.
Sehun wants to spit out that, actually, they’re best friends.
But Sehun won’t, because Hyunjae likes Kyungsoo. She really likes Kyungsoo. That much, Sehun does know, from all the late night calls Hyunjae makes so that she can retell the details of their dates. At this point, Sehun wouldn’t be surprised if he knew their dates better than Kyungsoo himself, despite not being there.
Also, there is no reason for Sehun to try and justify their bond like Kyungsoo is threatening their entire lifelong friendship just by standing in front of him.
Even if Kyungsoo’s entire presence is hurting him somehow. “Yeah,” he says instead, quietly. “We grew up together.” This is fine. He can pretend none of this hurts.
“Thank you for taking care of her up until now,” Kyungsoo says, smiling. And, oh. His lips really are heart shaped. Hyunjae wasn’t lying about that after all.
Sehun doesn’t know why he says this next bit. Maybe it’s the hurt from earlier, or the uncomfortableness of the situation. But the words leave his mouth regardless. “I’ll take care of her for the rest of my life.”
And with that, the smile on Kyungsoo’s face slowly drops. They’re left standing in silence, as Kyungsoo processes and Sehun surprisingly regrets nothing.
If, when Hyunjae comes back, Kyungsoo keeps Hyunjae standing a little farther away from Sehun than she would stand normally, Sehun pretends that doesn’t hurt either.

Peachtober | Day 19: Childhood
Summary: As one of the members of a very popular performing arts middle school in Seoul, you have long decided not to try to be anything above average. The middle of the back was your home and you had never felt like moving until now. In your 12th year of life, your very popular
Reader Gender: N/A
Now you were a shy human. Not just an introvert, but you did your best to stay under the radar at all costs. Maybe you were the smartest in a certain subject, but you didn’t want to get that academic recognition. You just wanted to get through middle school as quickly as possible, then get through high school, and then go to a college in a different country. Some people wanted to make an impact in the world. Become a legend. Leave their mark.
All you wanted to do was survive.
And maybe get asked to the Costume Dance by Park Kangdae. His name really made sense as not only was he the cutest and most smart and kind boy in school, but his father was Park Jimin, a former idol. You stared as you changed your shoes to the school issued ones since he passed by. However he himself was nothing like his father, not super bubbly and cute but the complete opposite. A Bad Boy of sorts.
Infamous. Often got in trouble for not wearing a belt or not tucking in his shirt, but you adored him still. His hair was longer than most too. He was different. He stood out. He was beautiful and smart, a hard worker, but also way out of your league. Kangdae swore like a sailor no matter if teachers were around or not, but never ever in front of his father. All respect was to be earned with him.
“You know he’s not that big of a deal.” Said Chwe Sanghee, the daughter of Yoo Jeongyeon and Chwe Vernon.
It was no surprise that famous children were going to this school as it was a middle school designed to create future idols and actors. Generation after generation of idol families went here in the hope to recreate the success their parents had or even surpass them. There were a few exceptions, like you. However, you were glad that you didn’t come from a famous family because it made it easier to blend in to be average.
Heh, to be average in a school of born celebrities. This was reflected in every aspect of the school as nothing was broken for too long and the technology inside was nothing but top of the line, state of the art. All the programs on it also very expensive and paid for by the school. The building itself was also very nice. Always clean and spotless because it had janitors unlike most schools where the students were in charge of keeping it clean.
Not to mention the uniforms. Royal purple and the blazers were made out of silk. They were very genderfluid and the rules didn’t dictate who could and could not wear a skirt or pants which meant you wore pants all the time unless they started to chafe or annoy you. Also, the freedom of a skirt was fun. Of course, the shorts underneath were up to the students but had to be black. The socks that went into your school loafers had to be white, mostly white, or black.
Sanghee bent this rule to her will by wearing white socks with ribbons built into the design while you opted for regular white ankle high socks. Average. Kangdae always wore black socks.
“I heard he sticks gum underneath his desk.”
“He would never!” You said. “He’s way too nice for that.” you said as you threw your backpack over your shoulder.
“Well, it’s what I heard.” She replied.
You rolled your eyes, “Sanghee, you should be more careful about saying stuff like that. It could ruin his career before it’s even started. He could start being known for not caring about the property of others and then people will label him a delinquent and no one wants to work with a delinquent.”
Your long time friend pinched your cheek, “Cute little worry wort.”
At lunch, you sat with the brown haired beauty and couldn’t help but stare at the boy who had recently dyed his hair blue to play “Flounder” in the My Little Mermaid Jr. musical we were doing soon. He wanted to be an actor like his uncles Taehyung and Jin even though they weren’t his uncles by blood. A foreign girl with curly hair had gotten red braids put into her hair in order to play Ariel. She sat next to him, blocking your view of him.
You leaned over and nearly fell out of your chair, but Sanghee held you up, “I swear, Y/N. You should just ask him to the Halloween Dance since your crush on him is so big!”
“What? No? I...I couldn’t dare ask him to go with a nobody like me.” You said. “Anyways, he’s too popular. I can’t hang out with too many popular people or I might actually get noticed by people.”
“Do you honestly want to play a background character for the rest of your life?” The asked.
You nodded as if the answer obvious, “Yeah. I don’t have any too high expectations, and I make everything feel complete. That’s good enough for me.”
She sighed, “I don’t understand you, Bean Paste.” your friend called you the affectionate nickname because you had chosen it as a group name in elementary school for a sports competition. “But I respect ya.”
Then she ate the pizza crust you didn’t like because it was always too burnt. You asked how she did on the recent test and of course she landed in the top ten. As predicted, you had gotten 50th spot but were so close in getting 48 because of Lee Yun not doing as well as usual. Middle of the pack was the perfect place for you. However, you couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to spend one day with Kangdae.
Because of a bet you lost with your friend Sunghee, you would be going to the Costume Dance with her. Couple costumes but you got to choose what the two of you would be dressing up as. Because you had been into indie games as of late, you chose to be Sans from Undertale with Sunghee being Frisk. There was one thing that would make your outfit different than what you were hoping because of the theme this year was ‘Formal’
So, you simply wore your school dress shirt since it was white and a blue blazer with black shorts. White shoes and socks and then you painted a skeleton upon your face with your father’s help. Sunghee showed up in a blue and purple striped long sleeve dress with a layered skirt, blue tights and brown heels on. Her already brown hair was made short with the use of bobby pins and hair gel. You have her the locket from the game you had gotten after months of searching.
Because the person you were dressing up as had no hair, you simply slicked and pulled your hair back to make it smooth and flat. It’d be quite a bit of trouble to get it out later, but that was later. Your other father took your pictures and then sent you off with Sunghee’s butler. She was a nice 30 year old that had worked for her family for some time now because her parents were so busy.
When they were home, they did their best to spend time with their little girl. They would build collections to make sure they never felt too far away. Every once in a while, she’d get a seashell or a leaf from whatever country her parents were in at the time. Paris, New York, Vietnam, Egypt. They were all labelled in her bedroom too, type and year.
Soon enough, you were at the dance and sitting on the bleachers. Sunghee was talking with her other friends somewhere. This was the only downfall of not being known by many people and only having one friend, you felt rather lonely. Part of you wanted to go out and dance with someone, grab them by the hand and have a bit of fun. However, you were afraid.
“Hey, Sans?” Someone called.
You looked up and it was a young man dressed in a formal white suit with a red cape and matching boots. There was a blue and yellow cummerbund around his waist. Red gloves. Whoever it was, they were dressed as Papyrus!
“Can we take a picture together? Sunghee said this was your idea.” You knew that voice anywhere. Even in the dark room with blinding lights that rotated and the music being way too loud, you knew that it was Park Kangdae.
You just nodded and he sat next to you, taking his phone out. The both of you smiled and he took a few pics in succession. Then he asked if you wanted to dance. You nodded and he brought you to the middle of the dancefloor. Your heart couldn’t believe it. Actually getting to dance with your crush to mediocre pop music.
“Hey, by the way, what’s your name. Sunghee just said you were her friend.” He said brashly but that was just his way of talking.
“It’s Y/N.” You replied.
He moved his face closer to your’s, “WHAT?”
“Y/N!” You said louder. “Y/F/N, we have acting together.”
“Right, you play singing coral in the musical, don’t you?”
“Y-yeah, that’s me.”
Kangdae smiled and chuckled, “You’re really good at dancing in that dumb costume they have you in. I thought you were really cute during dress rehearsal on Wednesday when you rolled your eyes when Kim Heechul’s grandson messed up his line.”
He thought you were cute when you rolled your eyes!
“Oh, um. Th-thank you.” You replied, blushing. “I think you should have gotten the part of Prince Eric.”
You felt like you were standing out too much, but you wanted to talk to him since he was here dancing with you.
“Me too, but my cousin is more popular than I am. It’s no surprise that he got that part.” He replied.
His cousin was of course the child of Kim Namjoon’s first wife. She was like me, not a fan of the spotlight but in love with someone who lived in it. What was I thinking? I was only 12. Twelve year olds couldn’t be in love, could we? I just really really REALLY like Kangdae. He seemed to not hate me since we talked and danced for a few more songs together.
He even talked to me the days after the Dance. Although he knew I didn’t like being known, I told him the truth. It wasn’t so bad if he was the one who got to know me. He was really kind despite what everyone seemed to think Kangdae didn’t make me interact with others if I didn’t want to. His friends were nice too.
Maybe, just maybe if it was just a few people who knew me, it would be ok. I used to be scared to be known by anyone. Then Sunghee happened. Now Kangdae happened. Two other friends happened too. Right before Kangdae’s dad came to pick him up in person after the last play rehearsal before tomorrow’s show, he handed me a folded up note.
I opened it in the back of my dad’s car.
He liked me?

YOON JINHEE
AGE: Eighteen COMPANY: Radioactive Entertainment POSITION: Trainee FACECLAIM: Kim Yoohyeon PLAYED BY: Irina
tw: suicide, depression, death & anxiety
Jinhee is an idol who quite literally trained her entire life to debut. Alongside her fraternal twin brother, Sanghee, they spent much of their childhood in studios under the watchful eye of their father, a CEO of an entertainment company. Said company wasn’t a huge agency, but it was big enough that JInhee and Sanghee had to be perfect. They’d forever be under scrutiny when they debuted, so they had to be the best of the best.
While Sanghee was mainly a dancer, Jinhee preferred vocals, but they bonded over a shared love of performing. The two were inseparable, always in practice rooms together or in the cafeteria side by side. Sanghee was an anxious child, and Jinhee was the only one who could get him to listen long enough to pull him out of it if he was having an episode. They were the perfect team.
Jinhee debuted before her brother did–she was only thirteen when she debuted with her dad’s company’s first girl group, “Velocity”, under the stagename ‘Chelsea’. It sparked much controversy, and while she toured with the group and went to fan meets and special events, she was banned from performing on music shows until she was 14. She was confident, though, and very good. Incredibly good. It was hard being away from her brother, who debuted in his own group when they was 14; she was always worried about how he was doing, and when she wasn’t performing or doing interviews, she was texting him and calling him and making sure he was doing okay.
As the next couple years went by, the members of Velocity grew up, some leaving to pursue schooling or other activities, but Chelsea’s loyalty to Velocity and her father never wavered for a second, and when the group’s leader left the group,Jinhee was made leader, despite being the 15 year old maknae. Things were going well for her, and Sanghee too. It felt like they were on top of the world and like nothing could touch them.
In 2013, tragedy struck. Jinhee’s mother passed away in a freak car accident, and a month later, her father committed suicide, not being able to live without his wife. Sanghee left his group after the tragedy, but Jinhee was the leader now, and felt responsible. Her father wouldn’t have wanted her to quit. Jinhee fell into a depression, one that she would never have gotten through without her group. It wasn’t enough, though, her depression affecting her performance. She was pulled from Velocity and moved back into the trainee dorms until further notice.
While she’d been slightly worried about Sanghee, he seemed to be flourishing without her, under Spotlight now, and she decided if he could do it, she could too. With Sanghee’s help, she found an indie label, and debuted as a soloist in 2016.
Nothing good ever lasted for Jinhee, though. She had one comeback before the label went under and Jinhee was looking for more help. She’s of sounder mind, but her optimism is crushed. She was lucky that Radioactive extended a hand to her, because otherwise, she wouldn’t have done anything about it. Just let herself waste away while her brother chased his dreams. She’s been training with Radioactive for a couple of months now, and while they have a lot of faith in her, she isn’t comfortable. She can’t help but feel like soon enough it will all fall apart.
Onstage, she’s confident. She has a strong voice and an encapsulating presence, but as soon as she steps offstage, that disappears, and she becomes sullen and reserved. She’s struggling, but she sticks with it. If not for herself or her brother, than for the memory of her parents.

✯ Park Sanghee is the main rapper and dancer of Bad Girls Club. Sanghee always had a big personality, she made friends every where she went earning herself the title of a social butterfly from a young age. Despite her fun and social nature, many didn’t like her. Sanghee was never prone to the idea of changing yourself so someone will like you, so if someone didn’t like the way she acted, she laughed in their faces and told them to suck it. Sanghee became a trainee under YG entertainment when she was 16, she trained for 2 years before terminating her contract and leaving the label because she didn’t get along with majority of the trainees and they simply pissed her off! She joined Mindmix shortly after, and joined Bad Girl Academy only a year later, becoming a fan favorite quickly.

✯ Lisha Wen is the main vocalist of Bad Girls Club. Lisha was born and raised in New York City, her love for singing and arts in general came from a young age. Lisha has always been a fun girl, despite being a bit childish, she’s very easy to get along with and is known for her sense of humor. When becoming a trainee, Lisha was nervous to be in a new environment, but the girl made herself a name very quickly for insane talent and her almost taboo attitude. Lisha didn’t care who you were, if you disrespect her, she won’t sit back and take it. Though this gave her a reputation that didn’t quite fit her, it’s how she and Sanghee had became friends. Now as a member of Bad Girls Club, she’s earning herself a title as one of the best vocalist of the generation!

✯ Lim Yunseo know mononymously as Cloe is the Center and Lead Vocalist of Bad Girls Club. Growing up, Cloe had many many friends. This was simply because, she grew up in an area that appreciated social status, and Cloe’s family was absolutely loaded. Her personality, grew into one of a snob. Despite her awful personality, the young girl was always a talented vocalist and performer. She did dance and theatre when she was younger along side vocal lessons, later going to an arts high school. When becoming a trainee, she was heavily favored by Mindmix. She participated on Produce 48, nearly making it into iz*one. It soon became rumored among the trainees that Cloe’s parents paid a generous amount to have her debut and promoted well after the show. Despite this, the girl has many sides to her that others don’t know and is overlooked by many of her peers.

✯ Kim Taehee is the visual and main vocalist of Bad Girls Club. From an early age, Taehees striking visuals were appreciated, her parents deciding to have her model for a few years. Taehee enjoyed it a lot, she enjoyed being the center of attention, and she enjoyed showing off her beauty. She soon found a love for music, and started writing music in her down time. She finally expressed her love to her parents, and they couldn’t deny that she was talented at singing and writing so they looked into auditions for their daughter. She became a trainee not long after under Mindmix Media. Despite how much they did to support her, Taehee never felt like they cared about her enjoying it. Rather about how popular and rich their daughter would become. Despite this, she chose to ignore her negative feelings. The girl has become a popular member in Bad Girls Club, and she continues to show off her beauty and talents any chance possible.

✯ Matsuno Erena is the Lead Rapper and Lead Dancer of Bad Girls Club. Erena always had a big passion for arts and fashion. The girl always was bright, but she had a stand-off demeanor and a strong rbf leaving the girl to be a bit of a loner in school. Despite this she focused hard on dance and at the age of 15 she moved to South Korea and joined Heartkind Labels. She soon debuted at age 17 in the group ‘COLORIZED’ which disbanded two years later due to lack of attention and budget. Heavily disappointed, the girl considered returning to Japan and taking a look into the fashion industry. Erena’s former member Addy gave her information on a label holding auditions, a bit impulsively she auditioned. She joined Mindmix debuting in Bad Girls Club two years later.

✯ Tiara Shen is the main dancer and lead vocalist of Bad Girls Club. Tiara was always the youngest of everything, everywhere she went. At school she was the youngest of her grade, at home she was the youngest child and cousin, and when becoming a trainee she was the youngest of her teams majority of the time. The girl always wanted to feel more grown up, she felt as if everyone treated her like a child and she hated it. Despite this, she was quite childish, and hard to treat like an adult. The girl was immature, she was naive and often times referred to as ‘too nice for her own good.’ Her talent in dance lead her to try auditioning for Mindmix, her family disapproved of the idea but told her it was her choice. They became hostile when she began training, and soon she just stopped trying to talk to them for her own sake. Her debut in Bad Girls Club was anticipated due to her participation on Girls Planet 999, and was not surprising, as many fans loved her on Bad Girl Academy and her talents were never overlooked!

shuffle challenge? bang bang.
Outro: Do you think it makes sense?
Explain it, explain it, explain it girl My baby explain it, explain it I hate you so much but even now I’m thinking of you
(Jimin/Hyorin)
Jimin is 24 years old when he experiences a heartbreak that is so painful that it shouldn’t even fucking make sense.
On September 13th, exactly one month before his birthday- Park Hyorin broke up with him. Hyorin noona, who he liked for forever, who always treated him so warmly, who he thought he would be with forever- decided that there was no place for him in her heart anymore.
First of all- what the fuck.
Second of all-
What. The. Fuck.
Jimin wants to be able to cry or to vent his frustrations or even to be able to hate her a little bit- because age gap? When did Hyorin noona ever actually care about that? Is she lying to him now too?
So he can’t hate her but he also can’t forget her and he can’t really forgive her breaking up with him like that-
Which means all he can really do is just think about her. Constantly. He thinks about where things started going wrong. When her eyes started getting cold. When she stopped wanting to hang out with him. Maybe, if he can figure that out, he can rewind time? Maybe he can fix things? Maybe-
-
Make it right (feat Lauv)
But all of this is about reaching you It's the answer to my journey I'm singing to find you Baby to you
(Hoseok/Sanghee)
Hoseok wants to be a bright, blazing light in the world. He wants to be able to laugh and love and live his life the way he wants to.
It’s his own personal mission in life, he thinks. A quest. A journey.
And on this journey, he finds this girl named Sanghee.
She smiles at him like she’s about to change his whole life- but in the good way. He thinks. Because when he looks at her sometimes, when she’s spacing out and staring at her feet and gets this distant look on her face-
He’s never wanted to be someone’s hero before, but for her- for her.
When she gets that look on her face, it looks like she’s going to go far, far away.
But he’s not going to let her go anywhere- without him, at least.
-
Filter (Jimin solo song….?)
Put your phone down, don't even think of turning your head away Let me know your type You can pick and choose me, yeah
(Taehyung/Aejung)
Listen. Aejung has two distinct types and Taehyung is letting her know that he does something for her.
He’s soft and pretty and not the manly man that she normally goes for- but that voice? That height?? That face???
Lee Aejung does not feel overwhelmed easily, but she sure is feeling that way right now.
“Taehyung ah,” she does whimper- because she has dignity. “Can you repeat that?” Just to make sure she is hearing him correctly.
He’s smiling at her, absolutely gorgeous, and asks her with a shy smile, “I just wanted to know if I’m your type.”
Oh. She did hear him right. “Why?” This time she does whimper a little bit. So sue her.
“So you can pick and choose me, of course!”
-
Fake Love (Rocking Vibe Mix)
Love you so bad, love you so bad Mold a pretty lie for you Love it’s so mad, love it’s so mad
(Seokjin/Saehyun)
Han Saehyun cannot believe her ears. Cannot believe the fight she is having right now. “What did you just say?” She can feel something in her about to erupt. She forces herself down into a simmer so she can look at Seokjin straight in the eye. She is not going to cry. Right now, at least. Later, she knows she won’t be able to control her tears for hours and will have fucked up double eyelids because they’ll be so swollen from the crying. “Fake love?”
Seokjin has a defensive look on his face, but also like he’s going to cry before Saehyun gets the chance too. “Yes, fake love! Because I feel like you’re changing me. Or that I have to pretend around you!” Like he has to pretend to be funny all the time, has to pretend to be unaffected all the time, has to pretend he doesn’t see how many random fuckers are in love with his girlfriend. It’s an ugly side to himself, he thinks. Not very “Mr. Worldwide Handsome” of him. That’s why he hides it.
“Who asked you to do that?” She never did, that’s for sure. “I never wanted you to have to pretend around me!” Her voice is gaining volume. “Of course I would want the real you! You seem to forget that I- I love you so bad but you’re doing this to me.”
Han Saehyun does not remember if she has ever been this mad in her life. But of course it’s Seokjin who brings her to this point. Love it’s so mad. This is some bullshit.
-
Boy with luv (feat Halsey)
From the moment I met you, ya, my life was all you, ya You’re the star that turns ordinaries into extraordinaries, oh yeah
(Yoongi/Hyunjae)
Hyunjae will be the first to admit that she has obsessions that change like the phases of the moon. Last month, it was manhwa. The month before that, her Nintendo switch. The month before that one was yogurt covered pretzels. But this time feels different.
Maybe because it’s about a person?
Because from the moment she meets Min Yoongi, she feels like- she’s not sure how much she believes in destiny but- like? She kind of gets it now?
He’s a soft boy that’s a confident motherfucker who is talented and has a gummy smile and makes her feel- everything.
It’s something that’s hard to put into words. But he makes her feel like she’s flying high.
So fuck her sideways if this crashes and burns and turns into a dumpster fire, but she’s going all in.

things park jaehyung has said (squad/day6)
Dowoon/Hyorin
“The best English student? Dowoon!”
-
Yoon Dowoon is the best English student out of the members who have never lived in America. This has been verified and approved by Park Jaehyung. Does Jae actually teach them anything? Debatable.
Especially after Dowoon’s very iconic ~“That’s right, we are DAY6! And we and you and okay the this is and i like the misses and this- this ok? You like it!”~
Which is exactly what Park Hyorin just watched. Grammar and sentence structure and syntax aside, she has no problem with any of Dowoon’s adorable English because Dowoon is adorable.
No. The problem here is, “What do you mean you like the misses?” She asks just to ask.
“What?” Dowoon looks back at her, confused and blank.
“You should only be liking one miss!”
“What do you mean?” He asks, because did Jae actually teach him what those words meant? Still debatable.
Hyorin playfully pouts, teasing just to tease. “I said- you should only like one miss!”
Like? Only one? Those words, Dowoon thinks he knows really well. “But I only like you, noona.”
Well. Park Hyorin has no problem with that.
~
Younghyun/Aejung
“The member who would write lyrics if he was in love? I’m not going to name any names *coughYOUNGK* but- I mean- what?”
-
“So let me get this straight,” Sungjin says, hands clasped together and lips pursed. “Our songs-”
“Which are great,” Younghyun cuts in, because they are. And also because he is the main lyricist to their music, but whatever.
“Yes, our songs,” Sungjin continues because he both agrees and is used to interruptions, “Have all been about unrequited, very sad, one-sided love because you don’t think Lee Aejung likes you?”
“Well,” Younghyun starts, to deny all claims and to tell his leader the absolute truth. “I mean.” He’s thinking. Thinking real hard. “Not exactly?”
Sungjin feels a migraine coming up. “Have you talked to her about your feelings? Or asked her out? Were you rejected?”
Younghyun can only smile sheepishly, answering in quick succession. “Not yet, I’m getting to it, aaaand….not yet?” Sungjin opens his mouth, probably to say some encouraging, leader-like, and gentle words, but Younghyun barrels on. “But I plan on doing something about it! Tomorrow!”
Sungjin is suspicious, and even more so when Younghyun tells him that Jaehyung gave him the idea, but agrees. Anything is better than Younghyun doing nothing but moping about how Lee Aejung does not like him.
/
The next day, Lee Aejung gets a text from Kang Younghyun, a dongsaeng she is becoming more and more fond of. They haven’t hung out much, but that is something she plans on changing soon. She thinks he’s cute. She’s pretty sure he thinks she’s cute. She thinks they’d probably be cute together.
So she opens the text and it’s a link to a youtube video. She quirks a smile and asks, texts back, “Is this shameless advertisement?” because it opened to their newest December MV.
Younghyun texts back, short and to the point.
Guess who I wrote this song for? 좋아합니다.
~
Wonpil/Saehyun
“The cutest member? Wonpil?? Get out of here??? Do you mean Dowoon????”
-
Kim Wonpil is cute. Very cute. Hella cute, even.
Especially cute when he is whining. Which is what he is doing now, since he just saw the Day6 interview where Jae said Dowoon was the cutest member. “I’m cute!”
“You’re not not cute,” Saehyun says in response, because this is typically her reaction to Kim Wonpil’s immense cuteness.
“I might not be as cute as Dowoon because he’s our lucky charm baby, but! I’m at least on the same level, right?” He stares intently and pouts, which is ten different levels of unfair. “Right??”
“This is unfair,” Saehyun complains, almost wailing. “You know you’re cute!”
“Well,” Wonpil pauses and taps a finger on his cheek, and even that’s cute. “I’d like to think so, but it’s better to hear from my girlfriend.” His smile is blinding. And shameless. But mostly blinding.
Dating someone as cute as Wonpil means endless suffering. Saehyun knows this now.
And now Saehyun lives to suffer.
~
Sungjin/Sanghee
“Sungjin? You mean Bob? Here’s the thing about Bob. Bob is dependable. Bob is not funny. Bob is the dad.”
-
Kim Sanghee stares at the picture displayed on her phone and then at her boyfriend and then back at the phone screen. “Why does Jaehyung call you Bob the Builder?”
Park Sungjin sighs in the long suffering way that only a person can when they’re in the same band as Park Jaehyung. “That’s what I want to know too, noona.”
“You don’t look like that,” Sanghee looks at Bob the Builder again. “Much,” she tacks on, almost guiltily, after a couple seconds.
Sungjin laughs, if only because her guilty expression is so cute. He doesn’t mind the comparison, if it is coming from Sanghee. “He calls me a lot of things. Bob, best dancer, Dad.” Sungjin can only shrug. “They’re all kind of like my cute, disobedient little kids. Jaehyung’s just the worst one.”
“…”
There’s a tense, long silence that lowkey concerns Sungjin. He must break this silence. “Sanghee yah? You good?”
Sanghee’s eyes are wide as she gasps, “Wait, if you’re the dad, does- does that make me the mom?”
Sungjin almost wishes he was Bob the Builder.
So that he could fix the mind Kim Sanghee has just blown.

Hyunjae: how about “oh shit”?
Sanghee: that’s good

Hyunjae: My boyfriend is too tall for me to kiss him on the lips. What should I do?
Hyorin: Tackle him.
Aejung: Kick him in the shin.
Saehyun: Punch him in the stomach. Then, when he doubles over, kiss him.
Jaehyung: NO TO ALL OF THOSE. JUST ASK ME TO LEAN DOWN.

Sanghee: SHIT, YOU’RE RIGHT!

Kris: (throws rocks at aejung’s window)
Aejung: (loudly) you have your phone for a reason!
[loud crash noise]
Aejung: (opening her window) DID YOU THROW YOUR FUCKING PHONE AT THE WINDOW?
~
(hyunjae as a supermarket cashier)
Hyunjae: (over the intercom) to the owner of the beige toyota sienna, your window is open and your golden retriever smiled at me. Please come to cash register 7 and tell me what his name is, because i love him.
~
[loud crash in the background]
Saehyun: what WAS that?
Baekhyun: uh...my shirt fell
Saehyun: sounded heavier than a shirt.
Baekhyun: ...i was in it.
~
Aejung: I don’t get paid enough for this.
Luhan: For what?
Aejung: (vague hand gesture that encompasses everything)
~
Hyorin: I can’t believe we’re at Hogwarts!
Jongdae: ...no, that’s Buckingham Palace.
Jongdae: Hogwarts is fictional. Do you know that?
Jongdae: It is important to me that you know that.
~
Sanghee: Has anyone seen my boyfriend Kyungsoo?
Person: what does he look like?
Sanghee: (tearing up) ..Beautiful.
~
Aejung: Do you want to talk about your repressed issues?
Hyunjae: No, that’s why they’re repressed.
~
Sanghee: Get me your finest fruit drink, please.

Hyorin: i only take pictures of things that are beautiful.
Hyunjae: your entire camera roll is filled with pictures of Yixing.
Hyorin: exactly.
Hyunjae: fair enough.
~
Baekhyun: (about Sanghee and Tao) You guys are so cute together!
Sanghee: Baek, I’m cute together with everybody.
~
Aejung: in light of everything in the past week, you may cuddle me for 4 to 5 seconds.
Kris: 45 SECONDS???
Aejung: NO! 4 TO 5 SECONDS!
~
Yixing: Do you have the time?
Hyorin: For you, Xing? Are you joking? I would always make time for you. My time is precious but you are more so. Yixing, you… you are a shining star in a sea of darkness. I would do anything for you.
Yixing: No, like, what time is it. But thank you.
~
Joonmyun to Jongin and Hyunjae: You talk as if your dogs are people.
Jongin: Of course.
Hyunjae: They’re better than any other people we know.
~
Jongin: You look stressed.
Saehyun: Thanks, it’s the stress.
~
Hyorin: (gets papercut)
Hyorin: i welcome death with open arms
~
Hyorin: Saebaby, what color are Joonmyun’s eyes?
Saehyun: the warm chestnut of well-worn leather when the sun comes out after days of rain.
Hyorin: what?
Saehyun: i said brown.
~
Sehun: there’s a lot of love in the room!
Hyunjae: not for you, sehun.
~
Sanghee: Me and Tao? I don’t see it.
Aejung:
Sanghee: Oh god, now I see it.
Aejung:
Sanghee: Aejung, I can’t stop seeing it.
~
Kris: Come on, I didn’t drink that much last night.
Joonmyun: you were flirting with Aejung.
Kris: So what? She’s my girlfriend.
Joonmyun: You asked her if she was single…
Joonmyun: ...and almost cried when she said she wasn’t.
~
Aejung: I love it when you’re drinking citrus drinks and you can’t feel your tongue and your entire face starts sweating it’s so cleansing!
(2 days later)
Aejung: Guys, the doctor says I’m allergic to citrus.
~
Sehun: Can the sarcasm.
Hyunjae: Please. I always use fresh sarcasm, never canned.
~
Hyorin: If we are walking together, please take into consideration my tiny legs. I can’t keep up with you. Please think of my tiny legs, I don’t want to be jogging to keep up with your leisurely stroll, you TITAN.
Chanyeol: Just get a pair of roller skates and hang onto my sleeve, we don’t have all day.
~
Jongdae: What are you thinking about, Jae?
Hyunjae: I just thought about how glad I am that dogs can’t read the “no dogs allowed” signs.
Jongdae: ...why?
Hyunjae: They’d feel sad and left out and I don’t want that.
~
Kris: Name one thing you want to try in the bedroom.
Aejung: Getting a full 8 hours of sleep.
~
Hyunjae: Every time you talk, I get this warm and fuzzy sensation inside of me. It’s bothering me so stop.
Jongdae: Warm fuzzy sensation? Oh my God, Hyunjae, do you have feelings for me?
Hyunjae: What the fuck is a feeling?
~
Sanghee: (rolls over in bed and whispers softly to Aejung)
Sanghee: I ate 75 chicken nuggets today.
~
Saehyun: I decided to come out and enjoy nature.
(a few minutes later)
Saehyun: (sees a bee and runs away screaming)
~
Kris: In your opinion, what is the height of stupidity?
Saehyun: How tall are you?
~
Hyunjae: You know everything about me?
Minseok: Yep.
Hyunjae: What am I allergic to?
Minseok: Soy products and the full spectrum of human emotion.
~
Joonmyun (about Kris): You beat him in a dance off?
Aejung: No. I destroyed him.
~
Hyorin: Yixing and I slept together.
Sanghee: And?
Hyorin: I thought you would be a little more shocked.
Sanghee: Oh, sorry.
Sanghee: (in a shocked voice) And?!
~
Saehyun: Are you flirting with me?
Baekhyun: Have been for the past year, but thanks for noticing.
~
Aejung: That pokemon looks cool!
Hyorin: Sure, but its attack stat is shit and not to mention its ability makes it worthless. Its move pool is so shallow, it can’t even learn good tms. Not to mention that it’s 4x weak to fire.
Aejung: He goes swoosh swoosh and it’s cute.
~
Jongin: I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but-
Hyunjae: You’re getting an atrocious haircut again?!
Jongin: What? No!
Hyunjae: Oh, thank God. My heart's still racing. (Places Jongin’s hand on her heart) Feel that? That’s fear.
~
Sanghee: I’m going to the store, do you guys need anything?
Hyunjae: Food
Aejung: Sleep
Saehyun: A cure for exhaustion
Sanghee: Yeah I got like...2 dollars.
~
Joonmyun: When you said “magical in bed” this isn’t exactly what I was exp-
Saehyun: (holds up 8 of hearts) is this your card?
Joonmyun: (in awe) Holy shit.
~
Hyorin: I’m Yixing trash.
Yixing: As someone who cares deeply about the environment, I am obligated to pick you up. Is 6 okay?
~
Hyunjae: (in a sing song voice) You like him~
Aejung: I just think Kris is kind of alright, it’s not like I’m up all night thinking about him, okay?
(Later that night, 4 am)
Aejung: well fuck.

if you love her
I hated and envied you, you looked good together
She would love to able to properly thank Yixing for it.
