it was not unexpected for most of the students to fill the lecture hall for the english class. no, don't get it wrong, they are not there for the classes and education. well some of them are but most of them only there to observe the universitys youngest, top trending professor choi.

but there are always some things that you never know about your professors. "So, this is all for today! I am hoping to see all of your assignments in my e-mail. The due date is Friday, so make sure to send them on time, I don't want any excuses. I prefer to receive the assignments before 9pm."

as professor choi was about to walk off the class, some of the students spoke. "but sir, i thought we were not gonna have assignments?"

he stopped and turned his head to the student that just spoke. with a bright smile, he answered "i am afraid that's what you should do since you are here to learn"

he didn't listen to any other student, he was excited to go back home and relax for the whole evening.

"good days, professor choi!" said a voice in front of him. he looked up to see professor park.

"you too! professor park"

as he arrived to his home, he was welcomed by byeol. his cat.

"byeol, i missed you my love" he patted the cats head, played with byeol and get up to see his fiancee.

after a small walk around home, he found his fiancee working on the kitchen. upon hugging from behind them, he pressed a small kiss to their cheeks, only for them to turn around and hug san.

"i missed you" he said, breaking up the hug and replacing his hands on their shoulders. "did you know what happened today?"

his fiancee smiled before asking, "what is it again? you got another love confession?"

he nodded. "this one was from one of the professors, i assume. she was quite old to be a student so i thought she was a professor but i am not sure."

his fiancee, with the eyebrows crossed. talked. "you and your never ending love confessions, we should buy you a new ring. immediately"

he laughed with your jealousy. "i will wear one from now on, don't worry."

Heeseung hung up his phone and put it in his pocket with two packaged ice cream on his hand. He looked around with a small plan in mind.

He hadn't seen Seonhee since school closed.

There were a lot of things they both loved to do together, but if you ask Heeseung what was his favorite, it would be going to the river on hot nights and eat ice cream.

So he walked in direction to Seonhee's house, unbeknownst to her. When he finally stopped in front of her house, a car caught his attention, then a lady who didn't stop very young getting into the car with teary eyes.

He took a deep breath and looked around. The lights in the apartment where Seonhee lived were still on. She didn't sleep, he thought, as he stepped into the apartment.

He waited a little before quickly climbing the stairs and stopped in front of her door. He thought about going back with the unclear feeling in him, but all the efforts would go in vain.

Also he had to keep his promise to Isa. He had to check Seonhee in between and make sure she was okay, or he was sure that if something happened to Seonhee, Isa would kill him on the spot.

He rang the bell and waited a bit. Seonhee nervously headed for the door, wondering with what face she could come back. Her face was red from crying.

"What do y-"

She paused with the boy standing in front of her eyes and shut her mouth. After a not-so-long stare, she turned her body to the other side and tried to hide her face, which was red from crying. "Yeah?" she said, then in her muffled voice.

“Sunny, what happened?"

Heeseung asked in a calm voice and stepped inside, then left the shopping bag in his hand to the chair. He touched Seonhee's shoulder with one hand and turned her towards himself.

"Nothing. Just..." She raised her head with the instant decision, and when she saw Heeseung's worried expression, she hated her decision and lowered her head back. "No, obviously something happened. What happened, do you want to tell me?"

Seonhee shaked her head as a no. Heeseung pulled her towards his chest to stop her crying and make her feel better, and wrapped his arms around her.

Seonhee slowly stepped up from her living room couch to the entrance door while staring at her groupchat with the phone in one hand.

After looking through the hole in the door and confirming that it was her mother who was waiting outside the door, she slowly opened the door.

Almost 8 years had passed, she was only 13 years old when her mother left her.

She had grown up with servants living in their house, her father did not take care of her, not a little bit.

It came as a shock to her to see her mother after a long time, because she had completely cut off her connections with her mother. In Seonhee's eyes, the person standing in front of her was not her own mother, but someone she used to know.

"Honey? Look how well you grown up."

When Park Heran tried to hug her, Seonhee pulled herself to the side. "You can go in," she said, and then looked at her face expressionlessly.

Heran nodded and headed in. Seonhee had closed the door, stepped in front of her, and walked into the living room.

After they both sat down at random places, Seonhee left her phone next to her. Heran had carefully examined the place where her daughter lived. "What a beautiful house you live in. But it's yellow everywhere, you wouldn't like the color yellow back then."

"The things we love change as time goes on," she said as she leaned back. "I'm sorry" Heran's apology had made the silence around them even quieter.

"I don't think I deserve an apology. Who are you to apologize to me now" Seonhee's words hit Heran's heart like an arrow.

"Because I left you with a useless dad at such a young age, but I had to do it Seonhee"

Seonhee looked up with a drop of tears falling from her eyes. "You could have taken me when you left, but you just chose to run away."
